Encoding problem using encore

Hi PPRO/encore users.
I work with PPRO + Matrox 100 (PAL). I want to export to disk for use in encore 2.0 To do so I can use "export movie", and encode in encore. When I use "export movie" and encode it in encore 2.0, the preview is fine, but burning on DVD, the picture is stuttering in fast movements. This occurs in either encoding lower and in upper field (Matrox setting) first setting . In encore 1.5 there where no problems.
Encoding in PPRO 2.0 (mediaencoder) and transporting to disk for use in Encore works well. Any suggestions why encoding in Encore don't work? I normally use the automatic setting in Encore so the calculation of disk space and bit rate is not my concern.
Thanks in advance Chris

Hi
I have/had the same problem up to now. However Have found that when you "export movie" from Premier 2.0 reset the export movie to use "microsoft DV" and set the correct frame size, I'm Pal so 720x576, then all seems to work correctly when Encore project is exported to disc.

  • Character encoding problem using XSLT and Tomcat on Linux

    Hi,
    I have an application running on a Tomcat 4.1.18 application server that applies XSLT transformations to DOM objects using standard calls to javax.xml.transform API. The JDK is J2SE 1.4.1_01.
    It is all OK while running on a development enviroment (which is Windows NT 4.0 work station), but when I put it in the production enviroment (which is a red hat linux 8.0), it comes up with some kind of encoding problem: the extended characters (in spanish) are not shown as they should.
    The XSL stylesheets are using the ISO-8859-1 encoding, but I have also tried with UTF-8.
    These stylesheets are dynamicly generated from a JSP:
    // opens a connection to a JSP that generates the XSL
    URLConnection urlConn = (new URL( xxxxxx )).openConnection();
    Reader readerJsp = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader( urlConn.getInputStream() ));
    // Gets the object that represents the XSL
    Templates translet = tFactory.newTemplates( new StreamSource( readerJsp ));
    Transformer transformer = translet.newTransformer();
    // applies transformations
    // the output is sent to the HttpServletResponse's outputStream object
    transformer.transform(myDOMObject, new StreamResult(response.getOutputStream()) );Any help would be appreciated.

    Probably you need to set your LANG OS especific environment variable to spanish.
    Try adding this line:
    export LANG=es_ES
    to your tomcat/bin/catalina.sh, and restart tomcat.
    It should look like this:
    # OS specific support.  $var _must_ be set to either true or false.
    cygwin=false
    case "`uname`" in
    CYGWIN*) cygwin=true;;
    esac
    export LANG=es_ES
    # resolve links - $0 may be a softlink
    PRG="$0"
    .(BTW, keep using ISO-8859-1 encoding for your XSL)

    Un Saludo!

  • Media Encoder and using Encore - what is the difference?

    Sorry, I'm a new user! Do you need to use Adobe media encoder when importing to Encore to produce a dvd? Encore  seems to render/transcode and the dvd works fine?

    If you're a new user, another reason to encode in Encore is that you can lower the odds of double-transcoding.
    We've often seen cases where people transcode in AME, bring them into Encore, and then transcode again, doubling the compression, and vastly lowering the quality.  The trick, when you use AME, is to tag the clips in Encore as transcoded.  They have to be the proper format in order to make this selection:  720x480 MPEG2 for DVD, etc.
    In a single transcode, the quality should be the same, no matter which choice you make.

  • Receiver email encoding problem using mail package

    Hi to all.
    I'm facing a email problem. My company email server is workig fine with emails subject but customers email server is making some strange changes when i use special characters such as 'á' or spanish letter 'n with a tail on the top'.
    I set the field 'Content_Type' of the email to 'text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1' but isn't working. If i remove those special chars, the subject is OK.
    I also tried to add content conversion in the receiver email adapter in module tab but with no possitive results.
    I'm using SAP PI 7.0 sp14.
    Any idea of what is happening?
    Kind regards,
    Inigo.

    If you want to use non-ascii characters in email subject, then you have to apply a special notation for this, like follows:
    =?utf-8?Q?Auftragsbest=C3=A4tigung?=
    This is email standard. So I recommend not use non-ascii characters in email subject.
    Regards

  • Best quality HDV to DVD using Premier Pro CC to Media Encoder CC and Encore

    I have been struggeling to create a decent looking DVD from my HD video.  I am a newbe.  And I have read many, many forum posts trying to learn the best practice and have come out even more confused.  Many posts are back in 2009 and I don't think they apply.  Some recommend dynamic link which does not appear to be an option for me.  So I am hoping to get a clear answer to my problems.  I am including alot of info because I don't know what is really important.
    I have 2 types of video that I am merging into my sequences.
    Sony:
    Format                                   : AVC
    Bit rate                                 : 11.5 Mbps
    Maximum bit rate                         : 16.0 Mbps
    Width                                    : 1 440 pixels
    Height                                   : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio                     : 16:9
    Frame rate                               : 29.970 fps
    Scan type                                : Interlaced
    Scan order                               : Top Field First
    JVC:
    Format                                   : AVC
    Bit rate                                 : 16.3 Mbps
    Maximum bit rate                         : 17.0 Mbps
    Width                                    : 1 920 pixels
    Height                                   : 1 080 pixels
    Display aspect ratio                     : 16:9
    Frame rate                               : 29.970 fps
    Scan type                                : Interlaced
    Scan order                               : Top Field First
    I set my sequence in Premier Pro CC to
    AVC-Intra 50 1080i
    29.97 fps
    1440 x 1080
    HD Anamorphic 1080 (1.3333)
    30fps Drop-Frame Timecode
    Hopefully I set up my sequence correctly???
    Dynamic Link is not available to me, so I export the sequence.  This is where i get confused.
    I export to MPEG2-DVD.  Preset NTSC DV Wide
    Some forum posts say to tweek the video setting for better quality, this is what I have read:
    quality to 100
    minimum bit rate  4
    target bitrate 6
    maximum bitrate 7
    click maximum render quality
    Since my source has upper field order but PP defaults to lower field order, should I switch to upper?
    I encode in Media Encoder.
    In Encore, I have my dvd settings:
    MPEG-2
    720x480
    29.97 fps
    Lower fields first  (should this be upper??)
    I have an i5 processor, 8G ram, I am using Mecury GPU accelerator.
    I listed a lot of stuff and I appologize.  I just think the quallity I am getting isn't there.  With these setting and what I am doing, is this as good as the quality gets?
    Help

    Use a 1920 x 1080, 30i sequence for the editing, not 1440 x 1080.
    Start with the MPEG2-DVD option and the NTSC DV Widescreen preset.  Change the Quality to 100.  Change the Field Order from Lower to Upper.  Change the Min, Target and Max bitrates to 5, 7 and 9 respectively.  If you have hardware acceleration turned on, export away.  If you're running in Software Only mode, check the Maximum Render Quality box and then export.
    Bring the resulting video and audio files into Encore for authoring.

  • Encore cs4 - PCM encode problem

    I have a problem with ENCORE CS4 related to PCM encoding. Settings in the project I set up the PCM. I also set up the export settings set to PCM. But when it has finished transcoding and when I look in the "MediaInfo" tells me that the audio in video is AC3 not the PCM. Someone knows how to solve this problem? The video i shoot is 1920x1080 25p, PCM audio,....
    Thanks,

    It was my fault. I made a preset, but i didnt it switched on, but now everything is fine!

  • Encoding problem when forwarding mails with attachments using exchange account

    Hi,
    I'm facing a special misbehaviour of mail. Scenario: With Apple Mail 7.2 I would like to forward an exchange mail with attachments. The mail is wirtten in german and uses german special characters like äüöÄÖÜ. During editing the mail everything is ok which means all characters are shown in thte correct way. When I send the mail, something magic must happen in the background.
    When I look in the sent mail folder and open the mail, all special characters are show as "?". Must be an encoding problem, I gues but I don't know how to fix it.
    When I send exactly the same mail with another Apple mail account (non exchange), there is no problem. So I assume it has something to do with handling exchange accounts under Apple mail.
    Any idea to solve this issue? Thanks in advance.
    Br,
    Jakob

    This is a know issue with Yahoo! Email on the iPhone. When sending email, sometimes it will say it has been sent, while it really has not (and it will not show up in the sent folder).
    It has been discussed quite a bit in the forums, so a search will turn up a lot of discussion, but no solid solution. Some say Yahoo is working on a fix, other that Apple is.
    The most common solution (which is usually temporary), is to either reboot your phone, and/or delete and reinstall your Yahoo! Mail account on your phone.

  • Problem with encore cs6 in cc

    I encountered technical problem using Adobe creative cloud.
    Because I want to burn a DVD I installed Encore Cs6. This program didn’t include the menu library, so I imported that following the instructions I found on the internet.
    The program works alright, even with a dynamic link with photoshop. A preview of the resulting menu works fine too.
    However, I can’t save it or build it. I get the message: an input contract error occurred. Before that I see a message stating the following: /Volumes/Builds/Mango/Main/Adobe/MediaMac/../../Src/FileCache/FileCache.cpp-1016
    Without the link, or without any content all I get the same messages. So I guess it’s not caused by the dynamic link or by the assets which I imported.
    By the way, I’m working on an Apple computer.
    Hope someone knows how to tackle this problem!

    Mavericks and Yosemite are not support by Encore, but I believe users are getting them to work.
    Many of the issues in Mavericks appeared to be permissions. Most Adobe apps need read/write access, and those were not the defaults for the OS.
    Some Mavericks users reported the following fixes their problems - I eventually assumed that somewhere in the process, it was fixing permissions. But perhaps it does more:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/6109315#6109315
    And comments for these operating systems for Premiere Pro, Adobe Media Encoder, and After Effects may be helpful. (Encore does not have a support team that is active, so nothing official for it.) But there are specific bug fixes for these OSs in CC versions, so....

  • Adobe media encoder hangs using macbook pro yosemitie & CS6

    i cannot crunch a premiere pro project using adobe media encoder....the media encoder starts crunching normally but hangs at random ....
    i get the following clue in the activity monitor....PProheadless (not responding)
    also unable to create ISO image file using Encore CS6
    thanks

    I know OSX 10.9 Mavericks introduced a power saving feature called App Nap which is meant to slow down applications that it determins are inactive (could also happen with minimized applications). This would mostly likely be the problem if your issue only happens in OSX 10.9... but if it happens in OSX 10.8 then it I'm puzzled.
    Did you check the Console for any error messages?
    Anyways, try disabling App Nap for AME first...
    Go to your Applications folder
    Expand the Adobe Media Encoder CC folder
    Right-click on "Adobe Media Encoder CC.app" and select Get Info
    Add a checkmark beside "Prevent App Nap"
    Restart the application
    You could also do the same for other Adobe applications.

  • Problem with Encore CS4 (and Windows 7, possibly)

    Greetings:
    Anybody else having this problem? First I'll get my system blood work out of the way. It's a brand new HP Pavillion.
    Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
    8GB RAM
    Over 700GB of FREE harddrive
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 @ 2.5 GHz
    Video Chip Set: Intel G45/G43 Express Chipset
    I have ensured that everything is updated. This includes:
    All CS4 Applications
    Windows 7
    My Graphics Card Driver
    My Display Driver
    I have also updated the Roxio PX Engine to V4.18.16a. I had read on a forum that Encore uses this driver and it should be up to date.
    OK, the problem, which I can reproduce with the simplest Encore project:
    1.     Start Encore
    2.     Create a new project - specify DVD - everything else id default.
    3.     Create a timeline
    4.     Import asset. It is a simple Standard Video AVI file, 720x480.
    5.     Select timeline for editing
    Here's what happens:
    A) Monitor window behaves normally. I can click play and watch the imported video. Sound is fine, everything is fine. I can start and stop the play back freely. All is well.
    B) Now, I can do a number of things to create the problem I am having. The simplest is to just go to the timeline editor, select the AVI asset that has just been there, running fine, and remove it from the time line. At this point, the monitor window's internal frame that used to represent the video view port area, disappears. By "disappears", I mean that the Monitor window goes to the background color which is used for empty, unused window regions. What had been there before was a jet-black frame representing the video view area
    Now, if I go to the project window and re-select the AVI asset that I was just viewing and put it BACK into the timeline, the Monitor does not restore. If I play the timeline, the monitor is still blank, although I can hear sound.
    In addition to this, I also find that Encore has slowed so that response to the simplest operation is extremely slow. It doesn't crash, although, it might if I hang around long enough - but I don't. If I shut down Encore and restart it, it will work OK until I start manipulating video assets again and then the same thing will happen.
    I should mention that, yes, I have this new computer but I was using Encore on an older and much slower XP system with less memory and drive space and I had no trouble with encore. I should also point out that the AVI assets that I use to produce this problem are the same ones I had used successfully on the older system.
    Is there anyone out there that would find this problem familiar? Anyone find a solution?
    Thanks in advance to anyone that responds.

    Hi John:
    Thanks but, I had already done this. I was having THAT problem with Encore (could not even initialize before tanking) when I first installed it and that's when I updated the Roxio engine. I don't know what else there is to update or correct at this point.
    There was one thing that occurred to me: When I was using XP, I had to disable Open GL in order to get Encore to stabilize. I've heard one recommendation for Encore that one must disable graphics acceleration. I would like try that here except I can't figure out how to do that in Windows 7.
    I've been Googling "Windows 7 Disable Graphics Accel" and have come up with nothing useful.
    Thanks for your help though and if you have any other ideas, I'm all ears.

  • Problem using namespace of XML docs gerenrated by  XMLForm

    Hi community!
    I am facing a problem using namespace within a XSL stylsheet. Let me describe my problem:
    I am using the SAP XMLFormsBuilder within the SAP EnterprisePortal in order to provide a HTML based form for creating and editing specific XML documents. The data in the generated documents is finally presented as HTML using XSL Transformation.
    In the XMLFormsBuilder you define the Schema of the XML document and the HTML GUI of the form. The Schema document looks like below (extract):
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <schema targetNamespace="http://www.xmlspy.com/schemas/orgchart"
            xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"
            xmlns:xyz="http://www.xmlspy.com/schemas/orgchart" Version="6.3.0">
      <element name="commodity"
               default=""
               minOccurs="1"
               maxOccurs="1"
               ns="p2p"
               xmlns:p2p="http://www.portal.p2p.com">
        <complexType>
          <sequence>
            <element name="administrative_information"
                     default=""
                     minOccurs="1"
                     maxOccurs="1"
                     ns="p2p">
              <complexType>
                <sequence>
                  <element name="creation_date"
                           default=""
                           minOccurs="1"
                           maxOccurs="1"
                           type="date"
                           ns="p2p"/>
    As far as I understand, each element defined in the Schama belongs to the namespace "p2p" and this is exactly what I want.
    The XML document generated by the form looks like below (extract):
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <?xml-stylesheet type="text/xsl" href="show_card.xsl"?>
    <commodity xmlns:xf="http://www.sapportals.com/wcm/app/xmlforms"
               xmlns:xsi="http//www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
               xsi:noNamespaceSchemaLocation="/etc/xmlforms/P2PCategoryCard_TEST/P2PCategoryCard_TEST-Schema.xml">
      <administrative_information>
        <creation_date>2005-07-04</creation_date>
    Consequently, the file "show_card.xsl" is the responsible XSLT stylesheet, which looks like this:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
                    xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
                    xmlns:p2p="http://www.portal.p2p.com">
      <xsl:output method="html"/>
      <xsl:template match="p2p:commodity">
        <html>
        <body>
          <h2>XSLT Test</h2>
          Creation Date: <xsl:value-of select="p2p:administrative_information/p2p:creation_date"/>
        </body>
        </html>
      </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    The problem in the XSLT stylesheet is, that I want to access the XML document elements using their namespace. And this is exactly what does not work for me. On the other hand, if I remove the reference to the namespace:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0"
                    xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"
                    xmlns:p2p="http://www.portal.p2p.com">
      <xsl:output method="html"/>
      <xsl:template match="commodity">
        <html>
        <body>
          <h2>XSLT Test</h2>
          Creation Date: <xsl:value-of select="administrative_information/creation_date"/>
        </body>
        </html>
      </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    the stylesheet works fine, but for some technical reasons, which I don't want to explain here, I have to use the namespace when accessing the XML document elements.
    For technical reasons, I cannot change the format of the Schema document and also cannot change the format of the generated XML document. The only file I can change and control is the XSLT stylsheet.
    My question is now, in the case described above, if there is any way to use the namespace in the sytlesheet when accessing the XML elements?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Adam Kreuschner

    Scroll down in that page and you'll see that the character code 146 -- which would be 92 in hexadecimal -- is in the "unused" area of ISO8859-1. I don't know where you got the idea that it represents some kind of apostrophe-like character but it doesn't.
    Edit: Actually, I do know where you got that idea. You got it from Windows-1252:

    Not the same charset at all.

  • File works in Encore 1.0.1 but gives problems in Encore 2.0

    Try downloading this file
    http://www.ecs.homechoice.co.uk/Adobe_test.mpg
    It's a recording of a trailer off BBC1 and is typical of the problems I am experiencing with Adobe Enmcore 2.0
    If you play back teh above file on Windows Media player it looks fine. If you impotr the file into Encore 1.0 it looks fine. But if you impotr it into Encore 2.0 it exhibits problems at the following timecodes (the problems are visible just viewing the time line, you don't have to burn the disk).
    0:0:04:04 - pixellation
    0:0:11:20 - repeated frame
    0:0:15:04 - pixellation
    0:0:15:05 - pixellation
    0:0:15:19 - pixellation
    Do other people have the same problem at the same timecodes?
    Would be interested to hear. The first response from Adobe "level 2" Support was not encouraging on this.
    I just want to know why the file works fine in 1.0 but not in 2.0!

    > I find it hard to accept the notion that the Topfield recordings are to blame when Encore 1.0 creates DVDs from these files with no problems whatsoever.
    For whatever reason, the new recordings and Encore 2.0 don't play nice together. I doubt that you can get the BBC or Topfield to change the way that they broadcast or record the video data. Any modifications to Encore that might eliminate the problems you are seeing will have to wait for an update or an upgrade to the program, if they ever appear at all.
    I doubt that Adobe is going to do much research or troubleshooting to discover why Encore doesn't like PVR files from your (or anyone else's) Topfield or [insert your brand here] recorder. It wasn't designed to work in that arena. There are much cheaper, much more forgiving MPEG and DVD creation programs out there that will let you edit out commercials or archive your favorite shows.
    Your solution is simple: Use Encore 1.0 for your Topfield recordings.

  • Encoding problems in email while on Windows Mail app

    Hello.
    I have a question concerning email and encoding problems in the Windows Mail App in Windows 8.1.  I have encountered a problem with an email I received, while reading, I see strange ASCII characters in one email.  I have never encountered it in
    my web browsers nor Gmail, just the Mail App.
    I was referred to come here when I had asked a similar question there:
    http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-ecoms/strange-foreign-ascii-characters-appearing-in/911f8a44-c302-4fa1-bcaa-3297b32d9120
    I don't know which forum to go to so I picked here.
    Is there any way that it can be resolved.  I tried to troubleshoot, nothing worked; I even synched, to no avail.
    I look forward to a response.
    JB

    Hi JB,
    The responder on answers was a bit confused. The MSDN forums are for developers to discuss writing their own apps. We cannot help with problems using Windows or its built-in apps.
    If the folks on answers cannot help then you may need to open a support incident. See
    http://support.microsoft.com , or the folks on answers may be able to direct you to the specific page for the Windows Mail app.

  • Problem using c:forEach

    I'm having a problem using c:forEach. Eclipse is telling me the problem is with the items parameter, and for the life of me, I cannot see why, since I could swear forEach uses an items parameter. Here is my code and the exception report. Can anyone please help? Thanks.
    <table>
         <c:forEach var="user" items="${users}">
              <tr>
                   <td>${user.name}</td>
                   <c:forEach var="education" items="${education}">
                        <td>${education.school}</td>
                        <td>${education.major}</td>
                        <td>${education.degree}</td>
                        <td>${education.gpa}</td>
                   </c:forEach>
                   <c:forEach var="employment" items="${employment}">
                        <td>${employment.employer}</td>
                        <td>${employment.jobtitle}</td>
                        <td>${employment.startdate}</td>
                        <td>${employment.enddate}</td>
                   </c:forEach>
              </tr>
         </c:forEach>
    </table>
