Encoding video file

Hi,
Just wondering if it is possible to encode a .mpeg2 file to a
.flv file in Flash 8. Thanks.
Bob

Nickels55,
Thanks. I know Flash 8 comes with the Video Encoder. I was
just trying to verify that mpeg2 is a supported file format. Thanks
again.

  • Encode Video Files not working for avi files

    Hi,
    I've been trying to convert some .avi files to apple format using Lion's native 'Encode video files' function however keep getting a 'avconvert: source file not found for source file://fileparthhere avconvert: failed to create an export session. Check setup
    I can't work out why as this has worked before in Lion and works fine for other video formats. The only thing I've done is remove Final Cut Express HD and can't add it again as I don't own it anymore
    Suggestions? Is there a encoder to make this work or should it work anyway?
    Thanks

    If you click Yes the project file will be updated when you save it. That has nothing to do with the media.
    Are the Lesson and Media folders still in the Book Files folder (or whatever it's called)?
    Select one of the clips in the browser and use Edit>Item Properties. One of the first lines is Source. That gives you the file path for where your media is supposed to be located. What does it say? If nothing is there, use the File>Reconnect function and point the application to where the media is located.

  • I can't seem to encode video files anymore.

    My friend and I are creating a YouTube series. I do all the editing. Whenever I render something in Final Cut Pro X (ver.10.1.2 [I don't want to upgrade]) and I save it, it saves in a big file. I usually right click the video in finder and select "Encode selected video files". It opens a window with settings on it, I choose my settings, and it starts to encode. The encoding stopped, and a window appeared with this text in it;
    PasteBin link, The text is too long. --> http://pastebin.com/55KsA6Dx
    The same thing happens when I encode it in any other option.
    I can't download compressor because I am broke, and I have no wifi (I am using hotspot)
    Am I doing something wrong?
    What do I do?
    Please respond as soon as possible.

    Hi JMEgaming,
    If you are importing your video clips in to Final Cut Pro X, and editing in Final Cut Pro X, why would you try to encode them using the Finder app?  You can adjust the size of the Master File to reduce file size.  You can publish directly to YouTube as well, but you need to be connected to a wired network (ethernet) or wireless network for any of this to work well.
    Final Cut Pro X: Sharing projects overview
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12691
    Final Cut Pro provides a variety of destinations, or preconfigured export settings, that you can use to output your project or clip. For example, you can export a project or clip as a QuickTime movie, export it for viewing on Apple devices such as iPhone and iPad, publish it to websites such as Facebook and YouTube, or burn it to a disc. You can also save a frame from your movie or export an image sequence. Each of these options uses a different destination.
    When you first open Final Cut Pro, a default set of destinations appears in the Share submenu of the File menu and in the Share pop-up menu.
    Details about each destination in the default set are listed in the table below.
    Destination
    Use to
    DVD
    Burn your project to a standard-definition (SD) DVD.
    Master File (default)
    Export your project as a QuickTime movie file.
    Apple Devices 720p
    Export files for iPhone and iPod.
    Apple Devices 1080p
    Export files for iPad.
    Facebook
    YouTube
    Vimeo
    Publish your project to your account on any of these websites.
    You can easily add destinations or replace the default set of destinations with your own customized destinations. For example, if you want to save a frame from your movie as a Photoshop file, you need to add the Save Current Frame destination to your set and specify that the destination export a Photoshop file. You create and modify destinations in the Destinations pane of Final Cut Pro preferences.
    You can also create a bundle of destinations to export several types of output at once. For more information, see Create and modify share destinations.
    The default destination is Master File. You can quickly share to that destination by pressing Command-E. To change which destination is the default (and will be activated by that keyboard shortcut), see Create and modify share destinations.

  • Anyone know how to encode  video files with 5.1 sound

    So now that TV officially accepts and handles 5.1 sound....
    Does anyone know how to encode their video files to include 5.1 audio?
    (assuming that ones video files contain audio that is 5.1 from the original source)

    Saw this somewhere:
    Ok, I managed to get Dolby Digital from a Video file. The steps are very easy:
    Create an mp4 from your DVD or other source with Handbrake or Visual Hub - Audio Settings are not important
    If you are ripping a DVD then open Mac the Ripper, choose Chapter extraction, open streams and select the Audio File you want to be extracted
    You will now need Quicktime Pro
    Open both files (the mp4 and the ac3) in Quicktime. Copy the ac3 stream and paste it to the mp4 file
    Save the file as a MOV movie
    Import it in iTunes
    That was it!!!
    I am now trying to figure out how to extract ac3 audio from mkv files...

  • Quick and easy way to encode video files?

    With out using another application.

    An easy and simple way you can do this is by using Finder. It might not be the best option, depending on what you need but try it out.
    Control+Click on the file and select > Encode Selected Video Files
    You can choose from 480p, 720p, 1080p, Audio Only, or  Apple ProRes under the Settings drop down menu.
    Then choose whether you want to Encode for higher quality or greater compatability.
    When you have selected your settings the window will tell you the Format, Resolution, Date rate and what it compatible with. The 480p, 720p and 1080p will use H.264 compression which is highly compressed and probably what you want to choose to compress your file.
    After you have selected your settings select the destionation and if you want to delete the source file and click continue.
    Done. Easy and simple, done right in finder.

  • Can not play encoded video files

    I encoded lots of .mov files in MPEG 4, 640x480, between 5-25 fps (mostly video tutorials) bitrate usuall 500 kbps.
    When I want to pull over the encoded files into iTunes, they are not accepted. Also when I encode to H.264 in any fps setting, none of them play. What are the exact settings in order to get the best quality in a fairly low filesize.
    (Since I view them one after, the file size is not too important-much more a clear resolution to see details)

  • Encoding video with JMF

    Hi
    i'm new in JMF and I'm trying to write a program that will encode video files to h.264 and also to divx. For know a made quite a lot of search and im still stuck. I tried with fobs but is has only decoding capabilities now im trying to do something with jffmpeg but it seems not to work for me (i mean encoding for decoding is ok) or i don't know how to make does anybody know what can i do ?? i mean some libraries that i can use or some tutorials.Is it possible to make something like this ??

    The AVC or Advanced Video Codec / H.264 the MPEG-4 Standard is as smooth as glass. Very hardware intensive and time consuming depending on the size of your file. I reserve this for music videos and family video that I have captured to DVI. I am running a Windows machine dedicated to video work, P4 HT 3.6 overclocked to 4.1 and running liquid cooling and 4Gb of Ram.

  • Is this Possible? Stream Video File using Server or Encoder?

    Is it possible to stream a video file (.mp4) Live using the Flash Media Encoder or by placing the file in an app instance on a flash media streaming server?
    Thanks!

    First of all lets call it Flash Media Interactive Server (adding Streaming becomes little confusing to readers as we have Flash Media Streaming Server) - both are FMS but two different edition.
    Now coming to FMIS, you can place all your video files in "streams" directory of application in the simplest configuration and then use Server-side API Class "Stream" to play them. When you use Stream class to play VOD files, it basically becomes live publish and is available as live stream. I will give you simple code snippet which will explain what i am saying above:
    var myStream;
    application.onAppStart = function(){
         myStream = Stream.get("livestream");
         myStream.onStatus = function(info){
              trace("Info code:"+info.code);
        myStream.play("mp4:myvod.f4v",0,-1,true);
    Now client will subscribe to live stream using stream name as "livestream" and it will basically get all the content of mp4:myvod.f4v
    Say if you save above code in file named main.asc and place it in application folder named "test" on FMS, you will need to copy "mp4:myvod.mp4" inside "streams" i.e. create "_definst_" folder or any instance name folder under "streams" folder of "test" and place the file there
    Hope this helps

  • Can Media Encoder take an image sequence in the watch folder and turn it into a video file?

    I'm using OSX and Media Encoder 6 (from premier 6) and can't figure out how to make the watch folder take a .jpeg or .dpi sequence and turn it into a single video file.
    I tried copying all the stills into the watch folder, that made 60 individual video files (one for each image).
    I tried making a folder inside the watch folder, and copying all the images into it.. to which Media Encoder did nothing.
    What am I missing? Will Media Encoder take image sequences and render them out as a audio-less video for me?
    Thanks for any imput.

    Hi action_packed,
    This is from the documentation: http://helpx.adobe.com/media-encoder/using/add-items-encoding-queue.html
    Still Image Sequences are not supported as source footage through Watch Folders. If a set of still images is placed in the folder being watched, each individual still file will be added as a separate item to the Queue rather than than the entire sequence as a single piece of footage.
    Make a feature request for that here: http://adobe.ly/feature_request
    Thanks,
    Kevin

  • Encoding error, unrecognizable video file

    I've been trying to compress a project from FCP 5 in compressor using the Mpeg-2 60 minute high quality encode preset. I'm able to get the encoding process started without a hitch and it appears the project does go through the entire encoding process. However, the final video file that is outputted from compressor is unrecognizable. It appears as a blank icon in the folder I set for it. I have tried multiple different project files (some of which I have not touched in months) and the all come out of compressor as unrecognizable file types. Interestingly, compressor is able to encode audio files appropriately. The problem appears to be solely linked to video files. I'm using Compressor 2.0.1 amd FCP 5.0.3. Any ideas what the problem might be? I posted this also in the compressor discussion board.
    Thanks.

    Hi Novitskyam,
    Where is the video file located on your system.
    Please copy the file to your local hard drive and then try to import
    the file. Also check whether you have quicktime player installed.
    Thanks

  • Add Metadata, Options to Open in Adobe Media Encoder for Video Files

    I was surprised to discover that some basic information about video files is not shown. For example, the duration of a QuickTime video is not shown.
    Also, there is no option to open an MOV file in Adobe Media Encoder.
    It would be nice to have this basic support for video.

  • Flash Media Encoder for video files streaming.

    Is there a free Encoder to play video files instead of Live video feed?

    Thanks - I know you can output; but want to use a file for input.   It's

  • Media Encoder audio glitches in all rendered video files

    Recently Media encoder starter adding glitches to all render video files in the audio track. It will sporadically cut in and out from a different audio track from different video file. Has anyone else had this recent problem?

    If you're looking to edit Divx files, the others have offered good advice.  If you're looking to create Divx files, I recommend using an external convertor rather than AME.

  • Automated encoding of large number of video files

    I am trying to find some machine-friendly tools for video encoding. They must not require direct user interaction, e.g. through a GUI. Ideally, it will be something that I can control through an XML or command line interface. For example, I would like to be able to say something like "encode this file or network stream, subject to such-and-such parameters, and write the resulting bits to that file or network stream".
    Is there something in the QuickTime constellation -- QtPro/QTSS/DSS/Compressor/??? -- that will help me with this? I'm obviously not an expert in any of these products or SDKs and would appreciate any pointers, suggestions, recommendations, etc.
    Thanks,
    Scott Herzinger

    The QuickTime Pro Player can be controlled via AppleScript but I'm not certain what the range of capabilities are. Compressor allows batch processing and version 2 also has a command-line interface (can be run from the Terminal application or by using scripts). There are also third-party tools that allow batch processing using QuickTime codecs. Some of the latter are shareware or freeware, check on VersionTracker.com (for example, the freeware utility QTAmateur does batch exporting but works only with QT7 -- Pro or non-Pro).
    As for the command-line interface to Compressor 2, here is a thread that talks a little about what can be done (actually, a problem resolution to get the command line interface to work):
