Encore 2.0 - Remaining in Processes

When I exit Encore, it continues to run in my XP Task Manager - Processes. I have to kill it before I can start the program again. Any ideas? I'm running with 2gb of RAM, with a Dual Core P4 with hyper threading. So far, Encore is the only program out of my Adobe Production Studio Suite with issues like this.

Rescue and replace seems a bit extreme. I'd be surprised if anything other than your system drive was corrupted. At worst, you'd recover only those documents on the system drive. Other drives would be fine....just plug 'em back in to a healthy system.
Sorry to hear about your problem and expense - especially to the tune of $4K - but I think the real lesson for everyone here would be to avoid housing any mission critical data on your system drive since it's the most volatile of any of your drives. As long as you have the software that you installed on your computer, you can just install a new drive and start re-installing applications.
RAID setups are also handy to avoid this sort of thing.

Messages remain in "Processing"

Hi,
I am fairly new to B1i and need to finalize the interfacing between R/3 and B1i. Everything was working fine in a test environment, but collegues have upgraded to B1 2005 SP01 PL19 a couple of months ago, which seems to have screwed things up. The B1i was at PL03. The Support Center has advised me to go to PL05, which I did, but now the messages remain in "Processing". Can you please tell me what that means ? I have upgraded the SIM and the TECH but not the content, as I wasn't sure whether the content was modified.

Can you please give more information about the processed message?
Does the sender and receiver systems are determined? What about the Object types? Which scenario are you running? In which direction? R/3 to B1 or B1 to R/3. Does it happens in all of them?
This will help me to have an idea of what is going on.

Cfcache template cf10 issue. When I use it thousands ( 15000) of threads remains in process coldfusion.exe until server crash.

Using cfcache to cache templates for a short period of time, the number of threads in coldfusion.exe process increase unexpectedly. Moreover, these threads remains in process (view resource monitor). We don't know why. Maybe an xml config file of CF10 take control of these threads?

This is Windows audit feature, I suppose that you have known that, actually, when you configure this audit policy, audit event is generated when sensitive privilege requests are made. This includes following objects:
• A privileged service is called.
• One of the following privileges are called:
◦Act as part of the operating system
◦Back up files and directories
◦Create a token object
◦Debug programs
◦Enable computer and user accounts to be trusted for delegation
◦Generate security audits
◦Impersonate a client after authentication
◦Load and unload device drivers
◦Manage auditing and security log
◦Modify firmware environment values
◦Replace a process-level token
◦Restore files and directories
◦Take ownership of files or other objects
So the culprit is not Windows system, this should be caused by a massive privileged operations. As we can see, the privileged operation is
SeTakeOwnershipPrivilege. In my environment, if I run some opearations such as backup, there are
records as expected, you suspected this is related to Acronis services, if these services require so many privileged operations, Windows would audit this via its mechanism.

E-Recruiting: Standard WF for candidate creation remains in process

Hi all,
we are using E-Recruiting 6.03 and I don't understand why the standard workflow WS51900008 (Object creation) remains in process on the task that calls the method ERC_ACTIV.ProcessDocument when a
new candidate is created (activity 1010, Acknowledge Candidate). So no notification is sent. If I try the same method from SWO1 it works fine with the same instance.
Any suggestion, please?

Hi Angelo,
the straight forward solution would easily be: "Forget this Workflow". If you do a serious rollout project for sap e-recruiting you have to design your process(es), define your activities based on it/them and implement the workflows you need. The delivered workflows can be taken to find info on existing / delivered functions but not even work as base to copy the rollout workflows as they are gigantic monolites which you can not develop to your requirements while keeping maintanence possible.
If you really insist on getting the workflow running, please check the following points:
- wf-batch needs SAP_ALL as sap requires
- wf-batch needs a candidate created using RCF_CREATE_USER, pick an employee id which does not process conflicts to existing ones e.g. if you test ALE
- wf-batch needs a printer assigned in his profile
- ensure propper workflow config
- ensure the workflow is using the event queue AND the event queue is really running. All workflows triggered by ERC_OBJECT event CREATED has to use the event queue otherwise you will produce errors and data inconsistencies

Firefox become in Offline mode and unable to open any page and when shut down it remains in processes and freez up, blocking another to be run

When I on my Laptop, Acer Aspire 5735 with Windows 7 Ultimate run Firefox all runs perfectly smooth, all is working as expected, but when I go to Sleep mode or Hibernate (Firefox remains open) after turning on Firefox is not active any more, all open tabs are there but surfing is unavailable. Firefox reports message that it is in Offline mode (but menu File > Work Offline is not checked and if I check it and uncheck it again it doesn't have any impact). Which means If I open new tab and write web address it wont open, if I click any link in opened tabs from before, it wont open anything and it will show message that Firefox is in offline mode. After that I shut down Firefox by using Close(x) button and it disappears from desktop but it remains in memory and active processes not allowing any other instance of Firefox to be run. Finally I shut it down on force (End process) and start another instance and all works perfect. I am not sure is this only my problem with hardware/software configuration so I wanted to share this.

This is a pain but I have resolved it. This is instructions for Windows 7 but it may be the same on other Operating systems.

Project server 2013 olap database remains in processing state

Hi,
In an attempt to restore the Reporting Database in Project Server 2013, I did an archive and restore of Custom fields. Both of these events were successful, however, the Reporting database refresh kept on hanging in "Waiting to be processed status".
Before this was noticed, the OLAP Database was configured and a build was initiated. Now the status of the PWAOLAPDatabase build just remains in the "Processing..." status. What am I to do here? Thanks!

It seems like your reporting database refresh has failed, so the OLAP DB cannot be generated either. It could be due to a large resource pool.

Note also that you can click on "processing" (as per your screenshot) to have the OLAP DB creation log in order to have more information on the status.

Background step in workflow remains in process: Workflow gets stuck up

Hi Gurus,
I have custom workflow for organization management. The workflow takes information from e-forms(notifications) and updates the infotypes.
The step which updates infotypes is run as background step.However in some cases the workflow gets stuck up in this step.
This happens irregularly (once or twice in a month).
On processing these workflow instances using SWPC , nothing happens and the workflow remains stuck up in the same step.
Also checked for dumps but nothing available under WF-BATCH.There is no regular pattern for occurance of these instances.
Can you please suggest what can be the possible cause of them getting stuck up in the background task.

Check ST22 shortdumps again. Look not only for WF-BATCH but also look for the intitator or the last processor's ID. Sometimes they would be the assigned the user to execute the step ecven if it's a background task.
Also, I would suggest looking through the code of the method that is being executed carefully. Make sure there are no 'EXIT' or LEAVE' statements. This could also 'sometimes' cause the background process not to return correctly. In addition, check that you are not executing an ever lasting loop.
If you have access in PRODUCTION, try to execute the method in debug mode to see where the program is inappropriately stopping (t-code SWO1).

CS4 Encore keeps freezing during transcoding process.

I'm using CS4 and trying to make a DVD that is 30 minutes long using Encore. It keeps freezing after about 5 minutes during the transcoding process and seems to always freeze at the same spot according to the progress bars. I don't get an error message...it just stops and has to be forced to close. Shorter videos seem to go through just fine as long as they are not over 12 minutes long. Any ideas? System is running Intel i7 975, 20gb ram, 2gb ddr5 Radeon video card. I've made longer videos in the past...this is a new issue.

Encore doesn't complete build process of new Blu-Ray

Hello, I'm having some issues with Encore and am hoping someone can help me out. I built a menu for my Blu-Ray project that is pretty simple and am having it not complete the build process while trying to render a menu. I made sure to check for errors before building an image and it said there were none. I really don't know what else to say as everything else is pretty standard. I am using a motion background that is about 8 minutes long with a sound that's about 12 seconds long for my menus. I'm not sure if the audio will keep repeating or just play once, but I'm hoping for the earlier. If not I'm going to have to go loop the audio a bunch of times in SoundBooth then import that. Either way it shouldn't make the build not work.
I tried to uninstall QuickTime, restart my computer, and build again (because I heard other codecs can cause conflicts with encore) which solved one error that was coming up but the build stops while rendering a menu now. I'm using vversion CSI if that matters. I will try and reinstall Encore right now but would love some other input in case that doesn't work. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

When an Encore project has had numerous (which for Encore can be only 1 ) errors, simply making a change may not be enough. To test specific possible issues, start a brand new project, with a new name, and use only what you need to test the problem. And in your case, if you haven't already, I would start the project from scratch. You can import the psd menus.
Either way it shouldn't make the build not work.
I assume that it could make the build not work, particularly if the problem is the menu as you stated.

The short audio will play and stop. The video will probably set the duration of the menu.

Impatient store question - how long should an order remain on "Processing Items"

Not sure if this is the right forum for this q, but here goes:
So placed an order for my first Mac Wednesday AM. I opted for the hires antiglare screen so it's a custom build with a ship time of 1-3 days. I'm past the 48hr mark and it still shows as "Processing Items" where I can make changes to the order - so I assume they haven't started build it yet? How long is typical for it to remain in this status before it ships? I'm getting anxious!

You were told 1 - 3 days. 48 hours is 2 days. So be patient. It will ship when it ships. Then you will be able to track it as it travels the world.

Encore in /86 folder and process says *32. What the heck?

I've just reinstalled CS Production being careful to not install the 32 bit version but my (slow) build still shows Encore is starting in the /86 program folder and the process says *32 following Encore.exe so I have to assume Encore is running as a 32 bit program. Or trying to... Have I missed something? Could this be the reason one simple motion menu takes 30 minutes to render? (Walter)

I am not 100% sure (you should check the information at the Premiere Pro CS5 product page) but I think only PPro and After Effects are 64bit... not Encore
But, as I say, I could be wrong about that, so do go check the product page to verify that Encore is or is not 32bit only
Otherwise... you provide ZERO computer and project information, so provide DETAILS and maybe someone will be able to help

After exiting Firefox it remains in "process" list, preventing a relaunch

Running WIN 7 64 Bit Home
Firefox 3.6.8
After I exit Firefox, and go on to do other work, when I want to re-start Firefox, I get a message saying Firefox is running, but not responding, and I need to stop it first before restarting.
In Task Manager, Firefox does not appear in the Applications list. It does appear in the Processes list. Of course when I select it and click "end process" I get the usual warning of unexpected outcomes, but I do it anyway. This does not result in any problems. But I think this should not be happening.
Any advice or feedback appreciated.

Help needed on Encore DVD 2.0 Transcoding Process!

Hi Guys,
I'm really first running Encore DVD 2.0 on WinXP SP2. My Computer is P4 3.0 GHz with 2 GB of Ram.
I have used Premiere elements converted the media file to 20GB .avi file ( 1.40 Hr duration) and exported to Encore DVD 2.0. In Encore, I have created menus, added subtitles and eveythingelse which needed for building disc. I've selected 1 Pass VBR which I believed it would make transcoding faster.
It is now in the transcoding progress ( Building disc), I have a feeling that I might did something wrong since the transcoding progress has been taking more than 8 hours. In the transcoding box, please see

The upper bar has moved to and stayed like that since the beginning, only the lower bar is still moving.
Does anyone has any idea why it takes so much time for transcoding. Have I done anything wrong?

Encore does not start after Content installation (MAC version)

Hi, sometime ago I tried to use PP Ccv + Encore CS 6 on my i-Mac (I generally use my PC).
After the download and installation of Encore contents, I was unable to start aby jib with Encore : the launch remained pending at the half starting process.A message from OS-X (Maverick updated) indicated that Encore was waiting a Thunderbolt connection which does not exist on my i-Mac.
If I uninstalled the Encore content, Encore started and worked normally.
I sent a "bug report" but now : it seems like a bottle in the ocean.
