Encore 2.0 Stream-Überlappung

Hallo Leute
Steffen

Bob.
You have hit the dreaded "Chapter Playlist" bug, sad to say.
All you can do is either eliminate Chapter Playlists one at a time until the project will compile, or go to CS3 where the problem is fixed.
This can hit seemingly at Random any time after 19 Chapter Playlists are used. I had one project fail on 20, and another pass at 26.
It's some sort of internal overflow or stack error is all I know.

  • Encore csa wants to transcode files that are already dvd compliant

    Hi:
I have a PPCS4 sequence that is already DVD compliant. The video files are .mpg and the settings for the sequence are NTSC. I can author the individual files in Encore with no problems, but when I import the sequence they're edited into in PP, Encore claims they are untrancoded. The original files were AVCHD, and I transcoded them into vob, and then to mpg, because PP wouldn't open vob files. I've tried countless ways to get the best quality final product, and the AVCHD-vob-mpg seems to be the best. I just can't stop encore from transcoding and then my final product is crap. The footage is interlaced and it has serious "combing" when I have Encore encode it again. Below are the settings for all of the various files/sequences/projects. If anyone can shed light on this, I'd be very grateful.

Personally, I would not go from AVCHD>VOB>MPG.
I would go from AVCHD (if that is all there is) to an interim uncompressed 4:2:2 Quicktime first & then encode that straight to DVD compliant MPEG-2.
You don;t mention if your .mpg file is an audio/video multiplex, and given the retranscoding I suspect it is.
Encore prefers elementary streams (separated audio & vide) where the video is an .m2v file and the audio is a 16/48 LPCM file.
The reason your transcodea are looking so bad is because AVCHD is lossy, and going to a multiplexed VOB file is also lossy, then from this to .mpg and you are losing detail every single time you go through another lossy version.
Take your source files, encode to interim lossless/uncompressed & from there to MPEG-2.

  • Stream type is invalid for one PC not other

One of my 4 PC's with Premiere CS6 is now exporting MPEG-2 videos files that can't be loaded into Encore CS6. A window pops up in Encore that states "Stream type is invalid" but it does load the associated AC3 audio file. I've been using CS6 since it was released and export MPEG-2 files to make DVD's for almost all my projects and never had this happen. I also loaded a recent project on this same PC that I made a DVD from and it will load that old MPEG-2 file into Encore but if I re-export the MPEG-2 file now with the same export settings, the MPEG-2 video will not load into Encore and the "Invalid" window pops up. Any ideas?
Just to add to this. I took the MPEG-2 file from that PC and was able to load it into Encore on one of my other PC's so it looks like an Encore problem specific to that one PC only. Reinstall Encore?
Now when Premiere CS6 exports MPEG-2 DVD files it also creates 2 support files that have info like where the chapter points are. When I copied just the video tile to a new folder without the 2 support files, I was able to load that video file into Encore. Problem with that is I need those support files since I have chapter points added in Premiere. Did a recent update make Premiere CS6 no longer compatible with Encore CS6 since Adobe did change these how these support files are made in CC?
Both PC's have the same/latest version of Premiere and Encore CS6 installed yet I was able to load the exported MPEG-2 video with the 2 support files into Encore on the 2nd PC and see the chapter points in the Encore timeline but still shows it as an invalid stream on the 1st PC.

So I transferred the entire Premiere project over to one of my other PC's loaded it and exported the MPEG-2 file with the same export settings since it was saved with the project. This MPEG-2 file & xmp's loaded into Encore no problem with all the chapter points so I then transferred that MPEG-2 folder with the xmp files and loaded it into Encore on the problem PC and it also loaded fine.
I did try and load the MPEG-2 file and xmp's exported by the problem PC into Encore on the other PC and it wouldn't load. So I guess what is happening is that Premiere on the problem PC is exporting a bad combo of MPEG-2 and xmp files.

  • ReTranscoding...Beating a dead horse.

Okay, so i've previously posted some issues with Encore CS4 wanting to transcode BluRay compliant Mpeg2 files...
Here's some of the steps i've taken to ensure conformity.
    A) All transcoded BluRay Mpeg2 files were encoded in AME with the CORRECT and defaulted presets made within AME..No matter what, Encore wants a transcode...
    Fine...
    B) Open Encore, and allow a transcode that is accepted by Encore's presets. SAVE THE PRESET...
    C) Use the SAVED PRESET in AME to guarantee that it's a legitimate stream..Run the encode.
    D) Encore still requires transcode,  although it was an Encore saved preset!!!
But regardless, no matter what i try, Encore insists on running the files through it's own encoder/stream analyzer...
    E) Okay, download Restream and Media info...There is no difference in Encore's and AME's encoded streams. They're identical.
    F) Use Encore's encoded streams to use in a new project...Even the compliant .m2v's want a transcode in a new project...
But regardless, no matter what i try, Encore insists on running the files through it's own encoder/stream analyzer...
I'm starting to come to the conclusion that something is missing, and Encore has a failsafe mechanism to need to read through the .m2v files...
THIS IS ONLY ON HD MATERIAL, including h.264 encodes..
This isn't an issue with SD material..
Does anybody have any further insight??
    Thanks...

But that was the point in CS4, the preset was wrong.  You select the preset, then change that element
    It's greyed out...No selection possible for MPEG2 Blu-ray..
Yes, you're correct for the H.264 Blu-ray..You can decide the profile. Mine is defaulted to High..
I don't see an .epr file.
If you've custom made one, it should reside under
    C:\Users\*your name*\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Encore\4.0\Presets
    or
    C:\Users\*your name*\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Media Encoder\4.0\Presets
The system presets reside under C:\Program files(x86)\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS4\Presets
Do a *.epr search in the top corner of the search string, and they're surprisingly scattered all over the place...
Here's a sample of AME and the options for MPEG2-BluRay options.

  • Encore DVD Error Message - "End of Stream has been reached"

I have created a project In Encore 2. it has motion menus, subtitles and sound. When we go to preview the project it gives us this error
"End of Stream has been reached"
We have checked our assets and the audio and video are DVD standard.
We did a check project and it found no errors with the project.
We are running Windows XP SP2 on a network, 2GB memory, 200GB hard drive Dell OptiPlex Desktop
Dose anyone know what we should do???

The End of Stream Message can be solved by removing one or moor unwanted elements from the time line. in my case that was a jpg image that encore didnt liked.
It is very difficult to find out witch element you need to remove, but that is the only solution.

  • Encore CS4 problem uploading flash streams to remote ftp in build

    Hi
I'm working on a windows XP and trying to upload to my my remote server which has a new install of the Adobe Flash Streaming Media Server 3.5
    as for Encore
under build when creating a streaming flash I can't log into my ftp site, only to local folder.
I created a link to my ftp site under networks, when trying to link to this FTP Encore won't accept it.
no problem creating flash progressive downloads but impossible to upload the streaming version.
progressive is really not the desired output.
how can I log onto the ftp site?
    thanks in advance
    Klaus

If FTP still doesnt work for you, please try uploading videos to FTP server without using Encore (try windows FTP or a FTP client). If you cannot upload videos anyway, the problem could be with FTP server configuration.
Following are the steps to setup your streaming server. (Steps are for Microsoft IIS FTP server on WinXP. You can use another server also)
    1. You have to install a Flash Media Server 3.5 and a FTP server for this. FMS 3.5 free developer edition can be downloaded from www.adobe.com
    2. Install IIS on winXP from Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components (You may need a windowsXP installation DVD)
    3. Configure FTP server to point to "\Flash Media Server 3\applications\vod\media" folder
(FTP server can be configured from IIS window in Control Panel > Administrative Tools> IIS. Right click Default FTP site > Properties > Home Directory Tab > Set Local Path to "FMS3\applications\vod\media\media" folder)
    4. Encore streaming script for the server will still point to "\Flash Media Server 3\applications\vod" and not to Media folder inside Vod. (For example, if FMS server name is amgupta, FLV streaming location will be "rtmp://{FMServerName}/vod/"
    5. Encore streaming script should be updated at 2 places with the new server names. ("rtmp://FMSservername/vod/flv:" and ftp://FTPservername ). The script is located at "X\Adobe Encore CS4\Required\flashExportScript\localFMS.jsx" where X is the install location of Encore CS4)
    Hope this works.

  • "Stream not Initialized" message when trying to build Encore project.

I have been using Adobe Encore CS6 for a while now, using three video camera models.
9 times out of 10 I have no problems making my DVDs, yet every so often, the video clips will have audio and video of different lengths.
Whenever this happens, if I try to build the project, I get an error message pop up stating "Stream not initialized".
I can adjust the clips so that the audio and video are the same length, thus eliminating the tiny, often two frame gap in the timeline, but this only fixes the problem some times.
Today it isn't fixing the problem at all.
I've tried transcoding the clips, even though they are in DVD format directly from the camera, yet still get the same error message.
Any help with this issue would be a god send as it is starting to drive me potty!
    Thanks.

    Giorgio,
Thanks for the taking the time to respond. Nothing suggested works.
You suggested: build an image of your author or build the DVD in your HD?
I tried both and still get "Program Quits" window, with Encore shutting down without any error message.
    You suggested:  disk problem.
I tried different Sony, and then Verbatim disks. Same problem.
    Additional Project Info:
    Time Line: 1:18:07
    Preferences: Playback Quality: Automatic.
Disc Info: free space thermometer: Blue all the way across.
4.7 GB Used.  3.309 MB free.
Same problem also exists with Premier Pro CS4. PPr will just quit for no reason that is detectable/No error message. I do frequent saves so have not lost anything in PPr, just have to restart program. The problem with PPr is not consistant, whereas with Encore it happens every time when attempting to "Build". I suspect fault is within Encore/PPr  and Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit and latest updates from Microsoft. Both programs ran without problems before. By the way. I tried to update PPr & Encore, and I could not, as I have latest versions.
By the way....You are writing from Italy? Where? My grandparents came to New York from Italy around 1907.
    Thanks for your effort,
    Tony Salso

  • Encore freezes when building streams.

After using Encore/Premiere for a number of years I have come across my first major problem. System is Windows Vista, Premiere 4 and Encore 4.01.048. Have completed my project and imported file into Encore, added menus, music etc. The project is approx 2hrs in length. When I go to try and build a Blu-ray Disc or Image Encore freezes with approx 2mins left to run and showing "building streams". Not too sure how much information I need to give you guys to help solve the problem, please let me know. I have done the usual things, like making a new Encore project etc. Any help very much appreciated as I have been at this for the last two days.

Since you have CS4, have you already done this?
For CS4 you must update the Roxio component - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1108754
As well as the below, right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option
    Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395

    Plus http://forums.adobe.com/thread/562941
Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help
Use Taiyo Yuden single layer or Verbatim Two layer Or Falcon Pro for inkjet printable Two layer

  • Encore & Adaptive Streaming: Editing the .xml file

    I have fms 3.5 & 4.0. using dynamic/adaptive streaming with html & smil or f4m...no problem.
I have flash projects made with encore cs5. editing the file authoredcontent.xml to change the media source on the server is easy.
But how is the media source area configured to use adaptive? ideas?
    Here is the code:
    <!-- Chapter 1 -->
    <Media src='rtmp://fms.acpe.org/vod/mp4:_PGC_Npgc_entryPoint_Pbp_10.24198913574219.f4v' name='Chapter 1' xmpFile='Sources/_PGC_Npgc_entryPoint_Pbp_1.xml' type='video' startTime='0' duration='1835.03'/>
    <Action type='DisplayItem' target='3'/>
The xmp file is used to search the associated text. no impact

This Apple document explains the difference between the Library file and the xml file:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93732
The xml file is actually an exported version of the Library file that iTunes automatically creates.
If you want to change the playcounts, go to this site:
    http://www.dougscripts.com/itunes/index.php
and do a search for playcount and you'll see a script to change playcounts.

  • Endless "Stream Overlap" Error Loop Bug Crashes Encore

Endless "Stream Overlap" Error Loop Bug Crashes Encore.
This is the 4 th time I have reproduced the bug.
I burn a Disk image .. and upon completion the "Disk Info" resets to zero bytes under the Build Menu and when checking the Timelines Window the Dialog Box pops up with the "Stream Overlap" Error.
Has anyone else had this issue?
I have read other forum post .. and there is nothing relevant.
I had to rebuild the project twice from scratch.
I'm waiting for my Master Collection 5.5 .. maybe it is fixed in it.

NOTE: There is a issue with Premiere Pro Dynamically Linking with After Effects with file corrupting I am experiencing as well.
Someone offered a solution to rename my files to just words. ( No numbers or other characters )
It still crashes .. and there is still file corruption ... but a "Linked Composition" can be found by "Edit Original" .. whereas it was not found before I changed the filename.
This is a beginning to find the source of the nested bugs.
I am wondering if this filesystem problem is core to the "Stream Overlap" problem noted here.
I have have not reached tech support on the Encore side of this problems as of yet.
This type of file system also has a terrible result for dated files:
On the Mac ( Standard Finder ) :
    2011.1.1
    2011.1.2
    2011.1.9
    2011.1.10
    2011.1.11
is treated in Adobe Encore as well as other Adobe Suite Master Collection Apps ( On the Mac Platform ) as:
    2011.1.1
    2011.1.10
    2011.1.11
    2011.1.2
    2011.1.9
This make NO logical sense at all .. and must be some old DOS filesystem?
    Timecode
    Datestamp
    Numbered Outlines
Are all very important ways to organize files / video.
I am surprised that Adobe did not address this years ago.
I have had two Adobe users mention a file system problem that has been known.
Maybe it is the cause of my issues? ... Adobe is mixing two incompatible filesystems on a root level on the Mac platform only. ( Doesn't work with the Mac Finder? )

  • Adobe encore gives error 19 " Primary video stream attribute must be consistent within play list

anyone know what this means when burning Blu Ray disc?

    Yes.
It means exactly what it says - the primary stream must be consistent.
In Blu-ray, any video timeline is a playlist. In Encore it is possible to put multiple clips into a timeline, and these must be the same.
    Same video type & format
    Same Audio type & format.
Do you have any timelines with multiple clips on them?

  • Toshiba Encore mini on sale tomorrow. Should I get that or HP Stream 7?

I've just noticed that the Toshiba Encore mini is on sale tomorrow, and I doubt it will ever get cheaper than $79, and it's also bundled with a 16 GB micro SD card: http://tabletmonkeys.com/toshiba-encore-mini-december-sales-79-free-microsd-card/
Does anyone have any experience with comparing the Encore mini to the HP Stream 7? I've wanted the Encore for a long time, but the Stream 7 is also interesting. But at the forums there I keep reading about the faults it has. It even has a hissing noise when the headphones are used. Just weird.
It would be great if someone had experience with both these tablets and knew which one was the most problem free.
    TIA

mine didnt come with a SD card or a wall charger -_- idk about u but when every thing is done and updated u'll have around 800-900MD free on the onbored SSD. but all in all its a good tablet (as of right now) i'm only get around 4 hours or so. but im still happy with it,

  • How export encore flash streaming project to local FMS workstation?

    Hi everybody,
i installed Flash Media Server3.5 and Encore cs4 on the same workstation.
I'm searching a way to export diretly an flash encore project to FMS on this workstation.
I know there is an .jsx file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Encore CS4\Required\FlashExportScripts but i don't known exactly what i have to change if i want export correctly on the workstation where FMS is installed.
I would know where i have to place exported project in FMS folders (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\webroot\vod or C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Flash Media Server 3.5\applications\vod) if i would my project be in streamed mode (without cache stored on client computer).
So, i would know what i have to change in the localFMS.jsx file to export directly on the same workstation and in good FMS folders my encore flash project.
Thanks in advance to give me help on these questions and sorry for my english.
    Bye,
    Rudo_fr.

    Too complicate ?

  • Has anyone been successful importing h.264 into Encore?

    First, my system and goal:
A MacPro with 2.66mHz dual core and 12 gigs of RAM.
    Multi Terrabytes of space.
I shoot on a Panasonic HVX-200, edit in Final Cut Pro and output Quicktime files as the basis for rendering to DVD and Blu-ray. I shot this stuff in 1080i. The camera codec is DVCPROHD and that is what I output to also.
I am trying to burn Blu-ray discs. I have an external Pioneer BDR-203 Blu-ray burner and it works fine.
I have done my tests and have decided that for Blu-ray, h.264 is far superior to mpeg2 in look and file size so I am sticking with it.
Here is the issue (and I have scoured this forum area and found no one discussing or solving this issue to date):
I have made hundreds of different DVDs with DVDStudioPro and am very familiar with it. Not to get off on a tangent but my beloved Apple has decided to betray me by not supporting Blu-ray (the ONLY way to output HD for us independents) so I studied up on Encore and have been using it to format my latest project to HD. The interface works pretty nice and even has some superiority to DVDSP but you have to have the patience of JOB to see your results. 5 Day (Remember. That's 24 Hour Days) Rendering is my tops so far. (OK. Full Disclosure... the documentary is 3 hours and 15 minutes long BUT DVDStudioPro took the same Quicktime files and crunched them down to mpeg2 for the DVD in about a day) Anyway about 6 days ago I had a 3 day render session that crapped out on me as it was finally recording to disc. For some reason it didn't like the BD-RE disc I had in the machine and just bagged the whole process. When I put in a new disc it just started rendering All Over Again. After that debacle I gave up on that method and now am rendering to BDMV folders which I then burn to disc using Toast. (While I am writing this my fingers are crossed that it will make it to the end - it's been another 3 days...)
I provide the details above to show why I am more than dismayed that I cannot figure any way to import h.264 files INTO Encore from another renderer. Either Compressor or Encoder render much faster than Encore. So I have tried render my project to a variety of output types from both Apple's Compressor and Adobe's Encoder with no joy any way I try.
(as a side note I am also dismayed that when I made a change to a MENU, Encore decided to encode The Whole Project Again rather than just the menu part...)
One of my latest file testing adventures was based on a theory that the problem has to do with DVCPROHD recording to 1280 x 1080 anamorphic rather than 1440 x 1080 (the "expected" frame size for 1080i). I fooled with that a half day but could not get either renderer to generate any test material from my FCP output that Encore would burn without re-rendering. By that I mean I cajoled and tricked Compressor and Encoder to output 1920 x 1080 files; 1440 x 1080 files and 1280 x 1080 files (all h.264) to see if Encore would recognize any of them without re-rendering them. No Luck.
So. Has anyone had success importing h.264 into CS4Encore from anywhere (but particularly using the same or similar gear I am using)? The Encore literature really doesn't give you much to go oon.
Lately I am very inclined to think the problem has something to do with this 1280 x 1080 DVCPROHD issue but I can't say for sure. I offer that as a suggestion if anyone else with a similar production stream is having the same problem and maybe it will trip a switch in their mind for a solution.
I like the Encore interface and design possibilities you have by swinging back and forth from PShop and After Effects but using Encore's renderer is like Chinese Water Torture.
    Thanks for your help.

    Brian,
I got your test file into Encore and got Encore to show its Blu-ray transcode status as "Don't Transcode".

  • How do I move a video project from Encore to AIR via Flash Builder?

I've got a rather complex video project with lots of submenus (that works as a DVD - so it is "debugged") that I need to be able to export from Encore into an app to upload on the iTunes store and Android Market. So far, I've managed to export the project via Encore's Flash output and test the results using a web browser (it works). Everything got saved in a new folder structure with an index.html file pointing to the flashdvd.swf file pointing to the AuthoredContent.xml file that actually holds all the information on the file structure (there are 99 files in the Sources subfolder) and uses the default generated Theme.xml file.
What I need to do is to somehow import all this into Flash Builder as a project so it can become the source for the various "app" platforms. My questions are:
    1. I've got Flash Builder 4.5 - do I need to upgrade to 4.7 in order to import the project or can this be done in 4.5?
    2. Is there some intermediate step that I'm missing?
    3. Will Flash Builder be able to repackage all these files into the file specs required by each target platform (I'm assuming it will - is that a valid assumption)?
    And moving downstream a bit...
    4. Since this is a video based project with over 200 megabytes of F4V content, how will the content arrive on the end user device? Will it have to be  streamed or can it be downloaded? - this is a big issue should the app become popular and we be forced to maintain a streaming server somewhere. What about server sizing in such an event? For example: is there a way to estimate how much bandwidth is required per 1,000 instances?

Oh, no i think i clicked Solved but it's not at all solved and i don'tt see a way to reverse it and clicked unsolved.
I'v tried reading the Manuals but still don't see the solution.
I think I've misworded my question.  Perhaps i shall have to start a new question.
What i want to know is very basic.
How do i take a video i see on either youTube or another side and put it either on my iPod (i guess via iTunes) or put it into a document or an email??
Do i copy some link?  Copy what exactly?  Do i click and drag something?
I think if i knew how to get a video to iTunes I could be able to sync it.
But i don't know the first thing, how to get a video onto iTunes, or email, or a document.
    Thank you both.
