Encore 2.0 tryout whants to re-encode all m2v that i import ????

Hi i'm testing the tryout on my system with 1.5 still install and when i import video asset that i used before in a 1.5 project and where accepted by 1.5 without any need to re-encode, encore 2.0 wants to re- encode the m2v file these file are created using tmpenc or a pioneer LX1
recorder so i know that the file are conforming to the dvd speck have been using this setup for many years with the same configuration nothing has change in my preset i also transfer these m2v in an other system "Mac dvd studio pro" with no need for re-encoding.
Can this be a limitation of the trial ????

This is ridiculous!!!
Is there no definate setting to encode mpegs and bring them in with transcoding "for the second time" in Encore?! It's nuts!!! I just spent hundreds of pounds buying Encore 2 after having used 1.5 extensively. I no longer have access to 1.5, and I'm using Adobe 6.5 with the Canopus Soft MPEG Encoder to export my video. Unfortunatly for me, this means I'm due to loose £1000 of business this week! Unless I can find a way to export MPEGs from Premiere. Exporting to an AVI, and then transcoding in Encore is not an option with the volume of projects I get. I need to be able to encode things once and move on. Am I really going to have to send Encore 2 back and buy something else? I specifically wanted the menu building functions that integrate with Photoshop, which save me many hours.
Someone please help, I am SOOOO dissappointed!

Encore - CS6 vs Older Version (2006 Copy)  Encoding Quality Difference?
I have an 2006 Copy of Encore for SD DVD's, will a new version have better quality encoding? Thank You

They both use the MainConcept encoder, so it's likely you won't be able to see much difference.
For a real improvement, go the freeware route.

  • Encoded Files (.m2v) are not recognised.

    Hello,
My encoded files (.m2v) are not recognised. The icon shows the blank page istead of the normal .m2v icon. and when i try to import into DVD SP 4 it unexpectedly quits.
what would i need to reinstall to fix this? i have no idea how it happened, i came back from out of town and it was like this.
    thanks, Nick
    Dual 2GHz PowerPC G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

You'll probably have better luck by posting this in the DVDSP forum.
Anyway, the blank icon is not a good sign. Is the filesize of these files anywhere close to what you'd expect them to be?
Are you using Compressor to create the files or a some other program?
To me, this sounds like your encoder quit partway through the process.

  • Encore says file is not mpeg - Media Encoder says it is! Help please.

    Hi,
This is all about the "file is not a valid mpeg" error.
I'm using Encore 5 to author a DVD, with elements produced in Premiere 4, After Effects 4 and Soundbooth 5.
Video has gone through Media Encoder 4 and audio through Media Encoder 5.
Video is m2v and audio is ac3. There are not other formats.
Check Project gives no errors on anything.
When it comes to authoring the DVD, 4.67 gb have been used leaving 24MB free disc space.
The first few times I tried to author the DVD, after initially reporting no errors, it then wouldn't burn a disc because it said one of the timelines used audio files of different formats. It didn't, but I put them through Media Encoder again anyway, which seemd to solve that problem, but who knows.
(In the DVD Transcode Status, in the Project window, most ac3 files say Don't Transcode, but the three smallest - less than 1MB - say Transcoded [then Automatic in DVD Transcoding Settings]. Don't know why it does that or if that has anything to do with the authoring problem.)
Anyway, now, every time I click Build, it works for a while but then gives "file is not a valid mpeg" error and stops. Doesn't say which file. ALL the files are mpegII.
It will take me days to re-render all the files. Is there any way to find out which is the problem file - it doesn't do anything useful like tell you - or any reason why it isn't recognizing an m2v file which I can do something about, please?
This is driving me crazy. Any advice will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

I have never mixed different Bit-Rate materials, on the same Timeline, and especially as I usually do one Timeline for each Video Asset (edited to be a "scene," or Chapter). I cannot tell you.
What happens if you create one Timeline for one Asset, and then another for the remaining one?
    Does that change anything?
I had been thinking that you had an MPEG that was out of the DVD-spec., but that usually results in Encore needing to Transcode again, to bring the file into spec.
Good luck, and I wish that I knew more about mixing Assets with differing Bit-Rates.

  • Getting chapters from PPro 2.0 into Encore 2.0 while using 3rd party encoder

Placing chapters in Premiere is a HUGE time saver. However, I also like to use 3rd party software to encode my videos to MPEG (Canopus ProCoder2.0). This process loses the Chapter information that the .avi file carries. Is there any way to get the chapter information into Encore while still using ProCoder?

Ok, thanks. I really wish Adobe would allow users to import and export chapter information. That would greatly increase my workflow. The thing that kills me is that in Encore 1.0, the chapters were connected to the timeline, not the video. So I could drop the AVI file into a timeline in Encore to create the chapter points, then delete it and place my MPEG video in its place. But Adobe got rid of this capability in 1.5.

  • Encore DVD 2 Tryout uninstall disabling optical drives

When I uninstall Encore DVD 2.0 Tryout version, my PC's optical drives get disabled. No other DVD/CD playing/writing software can access the drives.
I disabled the "enable recording to this drive" option, but it still gave the same problem. I reinstalled the Tryout version (though I cannot use the software itself), and found that the optical drives were then accessible. I tested this on another machine and the same happens.
I am using WinXP ProSP2 on both machines. One PC has a DVD-ROM drive and CD-RW drive using Roxio Drag-n-Disc for the recording, the other PC has a DVD-ROM drive and a DVD+/-RW drive using Sonic RecordPlus for the recording. Upgrading these software is not an option for me as they work fine for my needs when the optical drives are accessible.
I could just leave the EncoreTryout installation on the PCs, but they take up a lot of space for something I cannot even use.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the link -- it helped eventually. I tried the registry change given in the referred document, but it did not help me. The document actually did not directly address my problem -- my problem dealt more with uninstalling Encore rather than installing it. However, the document gave me an idea on how I could address the issue I had. In case this helps others, here's what I did to get some success:
    1. Uninstalled all DVD burning software.
    2. Installed Encore Tryout.
    3. Installed Sonic RecordNow (my DVD burning software for that PC).
    4. As everything worked fine, I copied the Registry key for the entry given in the above referred document.
    5. Then uninstalled Encore Tryout. Of course, Sonic wouldn't work now.
    6. Restored the Registry key that I copied in step 4 above.
    7. Rebooted the PC, and Sonic works now! Hope it stays that way :-)
P.S. I don't think this is the best way to fix this issue, but faced with no other option than to reinstall Windows, this is the only solution that I could manage.
    Thanks again.

  • Media Encoder Offline Material (that is present) and constant conforming in each PP CC open.

    Hello everyone,
I have a project with several sequence that I have been working for a long time (multicam basically)
Every time I try to render/encode any of the sequence the Media encoder is giving me a:
"Offline material is present in this export and will be encoded using the Offline Media graphic"
And of course thats not useful at all
Exporting the sequence, manually without the media encoder, give me a good result.
I tried with Premiere Pro CC v7.2.2 and CC 2014, and the behavior is the same.
I also tried to offline the media and link it back again, and the issue stays.
All the media is on a local hard drive (not USB/network)
Another weird behavior, is that every time I open this project, the conforming task starts all over again (also in both PP CC versions). I also, attempted the "Save cache close to the source…" setup, but the results is the same. It conforms every time I open the project (I can see the cache files created in the file system)
This conforming takes a lot of time and is a pain in the ***.
Any recommendation on how to troubleshoot this?
I need to create the final videos soon, and doing it manually (without Media Encoder) is insane (probably a week).
    Regards,

    Hi guys,
As there was no reply here, I tried to open a case with Adobe, but the guy from the support chat had no idea.
I was in there 2 h, and it only asked:
"where do you have all the media files saved?"
    "Ok. Are they linked?"
This was actually answered on the initial problem description.
and after the last question, it just to rapidly close the chat session, and leave me with no answer.
Can anyone point me out how should I address this problem?
Whats the best way to get support from adobe (I'm a CC user)
    Regards,

  • Japanese characters display with wrong encoding all of a sudden...

I had no issues before when it came to typing in Japanese in DW using the windows language bar , I would just change the keyboard to JP(japanese) and then start typing within DW code view, but then one day after doing updating my main template and using the find and replace feature in DW all the Japanese characters turned into question marks, diamonds with question marks and ASCII alphanumeric codes..
also the spaces in my documents  turned into blocks. It was a mess,
*I don't know if it was something I triggered accidentaly or if it was some type of bug....I also remember copying and pasting text and Japanese characters from another website that I created(but I had done that a dozen times before and it was never a problem).
Long story short, after not being able to find a solution I decided to manually delete the weird symbols and start over, I typed in Japanese using the windows language bar as always and began typing away inside the same pages that displayed those weird characters (sorry I don't know what the proper name for them is)and it accepted the Japanese characters with no issues, it was working just like it did before.
but my question is "What happened?" was that a bug in DW or was it something on my end?
I would like to know so I can fix the problem incase this happens again.
I've always had utf-8 as the charset and it's never been an issue. (and I all my pages are saved as utf-8 as well)
--Which is why I am confused why all the Japanese got messed up.
Here is the head code of one of the pages that had the problem:
    Thank you.

Without seeing an actual page, it's impossible to say what happened, but the most likely explanation is that you did something wrong. Asian characters, such as Japanese, require correct encoding. If the encoding is incorrect, you end up with mojibake.
I suspect that what happened is that you copied and pasted from Shift-JIS or EUC-JP encoding into a different encoding. It's quite possible that your page was set to iso-8859-1 (Western European) without realizing.
By the way, your head code didn't show up in your post.

  • Encoding Audio - Solution that worked for me

    Hi all,
As some of you may or may not have known, i was having trouble with my iDVD project hanging at the encoding audio stage for about 24 hours.
Yesterday i decided to try out a suggestion that i had seen on another thread somewhere. Appologies as i cannot recall where i saw it. However it worked for me.
    This is what i did
I saved my iMovie project as normal (containing 160 clips and 5 songs from my iTunes library) and then closed iMovie.
I then opened up iDVD and chose 'new project'. I selected the theme i wanted, and then i opened up the 'DVD map' function. I then clicked the plus sumbol and chose 'add new movie'. I then opened up finder, browsed to my iMovie project file and dragged it into the tile i had just created.
All the scene menus populated as it would have done if i had 'exported' to iDVD from iMovie. I then added some background pictures etc, and burnt the project to 'disc image'.
The audio encoding part hung for about 2 hours as normal with the beach ball of death but i could see that the iDVD project file in finder was getting larger (a helpful tip that several of you taught me).
Then the beachball dissapeared and the encoding bar began to fill up blue. And then the image was created.
All in all it took 4 hours which, for a workaround is fine by me (although a fix would make me happier)
So i think the trick was to not use the 'export/share to iDVD' option in iMovie.
On a side note. This method also eradicated the audio lagging that i was experiencing before where the songs at the end of the project were suddenly 2 seconds behind the film when viewed in iDVD.
I hope that this method works for others experiencing this frustrating problem.
    Kind regards
    LJ

    Hi M
Thank You for stating an advice I often give as so many else does.
Nice to see that it works for You to.
And a good and well writted description !

  • Adobe Media encoder repeats clips when I import to transcode

The last two days, every time I drag a number of clips into media encoder it seems to repeat one particular clip in the job lot, instead of reading the different clips I have selected.
I have restarted and cleared the cashe. I am still having problems. When I drag a group of clips into Encoder and when I drag a clip one by one, it reads the incorrect clip for encoding, and the name refers to one clip on the list instead of lots of individual ones.
I am importing MXF files to ProRes, using OS x 10.8.5 with Media Encoder - 8.1.0.122
I have had no problems doing this in the past, as in last week, and am currently doing it with the same footage on another machine.
Has anyone had this problem at all?
    Many thanks,
    Danielle

I inserted different clips, and they appear as one clip repeated as below.

  • Media Encoder QT can't be imported

I have some watchfolders configured in Media Encoder CS6. I created a QT Ref from a TGA Image Sequence with QT 7 and when I try to convert it, Media Encoder sais that the file could not be imported please check setting and try again....I tried with a simple H264 video and it works juste fine. I did the same with a video file using PNG,TGA, TIFF and Animation exported to QT file and it did the same thing...

Donald, it sounds like you may be trying to import another iMovie HD project. If so, see:

  • Encore CS4: changing one thumbnail in flowchart changes all

Working in the flowchart, I have proper links between menu buttons and chapter thumbnails. But in attempting to set end actions and overrides, whatever I do to one thumbnail appears in all of them! Have I inadvertantly triggered some setting that locks all of my chapter thumbnails together? This happens whether I'm using the pick whip or dropdown menus.
A clearer example: I set the end action on the final chapter as return to the main menu. But the thumbnail for that now appears as a link from the first chapter and all the chapters now return to the main menu when completing play.
Any ideas? I've created projects before where the flowchart behaved normally, so I'm in the dark about what I've done wrong.

Thanks for the response, Stan. It does seem to be acting like all thumbnails are selected. Here's what the process looks like:
All Chapter thumbs appear to have a slight highlight, however the Chapter 3 highlight is more vivid. That's the one I have selected. When I change the End Action option to "Return To Last Menu"...
...all chapters have that option changed. Note that now Chapter 2 is highlighted and the optioned is changed.
Perhaps this reveals something: When I drag a link from the timeline in the project menu to the Chapter 12 thumb (which should, I think, produce the action of beginning the video all over again when Chapter 12 completes) instead of adding a thumb after Chapter 12 indicating that action, it adds it to Chapter 1:
Same thing happens when I drag a link from a chapter marker in the timeline. No matter what chapter thumb I drag it to, it links after Chapter 1.
I have used this technnique in other projects with success. Not sure what is happening here, but I went to my chapter playlist like you suggested and , like you said, there I can create individual actions for the chapters without affecting them all! My question now is, am I using the playlist properly? See below:
I can make my desired end action changes in the left window (Master Timeline) but not in the right (Chapter Playlist). Am I using this correctly?
Sorry to make this so exhaustive, but you're my only reply and you seem to know what you're doing. I guess the best thing is to explain exactly what I'm seeking to do: I want to have users click Play All and have the video play through all chapter and return to the menu. If they click on individual chapter buttons, however, I want that chapter to play and then return to the menu. Can you tell me the most expeditious way to do this?
I'm sure my confusion is the product of ADHD-driven learning of Encore piecemeal as I go, instead of systematically educating myself through the tutorials. There's a lesson here somewhere!

  • Adobe Media Encoder All Video Output 'White'

    Hi all,
I am attempting to use Adobe Media Encoder to  export a QT h264 optimized for upload to facebook from a QT file exported 'Same as Source' from Avid MC 5.0.3, whic would be 1080i60 1920x1080.  The source file playsback correctly in QT player or VLC, but even the output preview screen in AME shows only a white image.
I've also tried converting a completely different QT file created in Premiere Pro, with the same white video output issue.  I've tried opening/closing AME with no luck, but hte last time I used it I didn't have any problems and was able to produce the desired end result.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks for your input,
    Lindsay

    Hi,
Yes you are correct in assuming the two software packages are on different machines. I am using Premire Pro CS5 5.0 and Avid Nitris DX MC 5.0.3 And no, I do not believe I have installed any Avid Codecs.  I just followed your link, will download and do so now.  I'm assuming this will fix the bug, but if not I will let you know.
    Thanks for your help!

  • What encoder MP3 uses iTunes for import CD?

I have a PC with Windows XP SP2 c Windows Media Player 9 with a installed Intervideo XPack (MP3 encoder and DVD codec). My WMP uses to import CD encoder from Intervideo.
*My question is: what encoder uses iTunes? Own or from Windows?*
P.S. Sorry for my english, i'm russian.

I understand iTunes uses its own MP3 encoder and it has performed badly in listening tests.
    http://www.rjamorim.com/test/mp3-128/results.html
If you want to use MP3 it is probably better to rip your CDs with another program even if you use iTunes for listening.
    This doesn't apply to AAC.
