ENCORE 2 WRITE pen not working

The stylus to my new Encore 2 Write tablet is not writing. It has a new battery. Is there a way to turn the stylus on/off?

I had the same problem. I suspect a Windows Update broke the pen. This solved it for me:1. Ensure that you have either a USB or bluetooth mouse or Keyboard connected2. Open the device manager3. Disable drivers for HID and Pen4. Re-enable the drivers I had to repeat steps 3 and 4 a couple of times and then the pen just started working again. Hope that helps. NOTE: You will lose the touchscreen when you disable the HID driver. Hence the need for a external mouse or keyboard. I did not follow this advice and had to go out and purchase a USB OTG cable and connect a mouse first... duh! Hello, My pen has stopped working before but I have been able to get it working simply by unscrewing the pen cap, moving the battery about, and screwing the cap back on. Unfortunately the pen has stopped working again and this time, when I went to try and unscrew the cap, I found out that the cap is stuck. I have tried increasing my grip and whatnot, but it is stuck tightly. I am wondering if this might be a software thing or not. If it is, how can I go about fixing this? If not, what steps should I take to remove the cap? I desperately need to get the pen working as it's near my finals and I have been using the tablet so much for school. I would have ordered a replacement pen with fast shipping if that's what it called for. Unfortunately i saw that the replacement pens are only shipping sometime mid August after my finals. Many thanks in advance, and any help at all is greatly appreciated.

I know you said you tried to get it unstuck, but maybe there is one more thing you can try if you have not done so already. Wrap a rubber band around the cap and another around the body, and try to very gently use pliers to unscrew the cap.

"Writer" Module not working in web service mode

Hi,
I designed a experiment to do a prediction work and automatically write the result to AzureSqlServer.
I published a web service from the experiment to trigger the prediction procedure, it worked very well until February. But from then on, the database had never received any data from the module triggered by web service though the web service always
run successfully.However, when I directly run the experiment, the writer works again.
I noticed the experiment dashboard has a new function that can switch between experiment view and web service view. In web service view, all the modules that the “web service output” module not depend on turn grey, including the "writer".
Is that the reason?

When you called the web service from the test dialogue, did it work? If you get any error, please paste it here.
Also, please take a look at the example in
this doc which also uses a writer. Note that if you have a writer writing the results to a destination, you typically don't need a web service output. See the below images, 1 with Web service output, another with a Writer. The writer needs to
be configured.

Encore Library installation will not work

I have seen people's posts regarding their issues with downloading the library and content for encore. I am in the same boat, and all of the solutions that people are providing are simply not working. I have practically memorized the download page on adobe. I have upgraded to the CS4, and there are 2 download manager files to download, and within each of those files is 2 other files: an exe and a file ending with 'z'. I have downloaded and extracted every one of these downloads at least 5 times, and I feel like I am wasting my time redownloading something that did not work the first time.
Someone please help me with this, I am a videographer far behind on my schedule and I need this resolved right away. I have read through the FAQ's, and have seen other threads, so reposting or redirecting will only keep me going in circles.
Anyone's help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

OK, let's try this. The files with the "z'" archived files in the 7z format, basically similar to the more familiar ZIP files. These need to be Extracted, including their entire folder structure. At one time, a user needed to download the 7z utility, but I believe that most OS's will now handled the Extraction, with just a Dbl-click on the file in Windows Explorer. If not, the free QuickPAR should handle most of these. This was done, when Premiere/Encore went back to X-platform, as WinZIP would not work on a Mac, but 7z would work on both platforms.
Remember, when prompted, make sure that you Extract the full folder structure. This should be the default. I always Extract to a separate Temp folder, and install from there.

Encore-Premiere dynamic link not working

Hi. I've watched tutorials and think I understand this pretty well but it's simply not working. I import a Premiere sequence into an encore project and place it on a timeline. I then add some chapters (or make other changes) to the Premiere sequence and the encore timeline does not update. When I right click on the timeline video the option to "Update markers from source" is grayed out. Saving in Premiere doesn't help.
Thanks for any help offered. Sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but it's really a damper to productivity.

I seriously doubt it. Adobe bundles Encore with PPro to take care of DVD authoring. It might have been convenient, but I don't think there's sufficient demand for Adobe to consider re-implimenting it.

X61 Tablet Pen not working in tablet configuration

The tc1000 pen does not work on the tc1100. I believe the tc1100 can use a standard generic Wacom pen tablet pen but not sure. They sell some such pens at the Franklin Covey website I think. It would not fit in the pen bay but I am told they work. You might google around a bit or ask the seller how they do with the tc1100. It will not work with one of the pens from the Wacom drawing tablets.

Solved - Helix pen not working

I think this might be helpful to those who suffer she same problem: My OS is Windows 8.1. One day the pen just stoped working. Seems that there was no problem with hardware and driver - nothing wrong but the pen. Then another day my Norton, which was pre-installed on my Helix, expired and I decided to unistall it. Surprisingly after uninstallation the pen started to work!

Tried it in the BIOS, looks like it's a hardware problem. Lenovo service was surprisingly quick and direct on the phone. They provided me the option of sending it in (with a 7 day turnaround), or taking it to a local warranty service center (on Long Island). I'll check out the local center first tomorrow.

Dvd writer is not working

i have a problem in my laptop compaq presario c 300, that my dvd writer is not able to play dvd movie even it did not read also

Is the "D" drive, the DVD burner, visible in Windows Explorer ("My Computer")? Can it read and play CDs? I am assuming this machine is running Windows XP since it is a bit older.

Read Key and Write Key not working as expected with paths on RT

The configuration file VIs Read Key (Path) and Write Key (Path) don't seem to work as expected (at least not as I was expecting them to) on an RT target.
When working on my WinXP PC with these two VIs, paths are translated to what looks like is supposed to be a device-independent format before being written to disk. The path C:\dir\file.txt becomes /C/dir/file.txt when writing and vice versa when reading. On my RT target, however, that same path is written to disk as C:\dir\file.txt, unchanged from the native format.
The translaton of a native path to and from the device-independent format appears to be the responsibility of Specific Path to Common Path and Common Path to Specific Path. These both use the App.TargetOS property to determine the operating system. In the case structure for these two VIs, however, there is no case for PharLap or RTX. (My RT hardware is runnng PharLap; I don't know enough about RTX to comment.) This means that the results of String to Path or Path to String are used without translating between the device-independent format to the native path format.
This isn't a problem if you create a configuration file on one machine and use it on that same machine. I noticed this only when tranferring a config file from my PC to the RT target, where the target would not open the file paths it loaded from the configuration file.
This occurs on 7.1.1 and 8.0. I don't have 8.20 to see if happens there, too.

In LV 8.2, this was fixed.
The problem is App.TargetOS returns "Pharlap" on RT systems, and "Pharlap" is handled by the default case ("invalid OS target") in LV 8.0. In LV 8.2 the default case is "Windows 95/NT", however. The reason you could write and read an .ini file on RT in LV 8.0 and earlier is because these two VIs (listed below) were both running the default case of "invalid OS target".

As you saw, this fails when you perform one operation in Pharlap but the other in Windows. You can fix this by modifying the two VIs listed above. Just go to the case structure and make "Windows 95/NT" the default case.

I updated to windows 8.1. Now acrobat writer does not work anymore even after repair. I am getting an activation error when trying to make a pdf. What should I do?

Can somebody help. A phone number to contact acrobat writer support? I paid for the program and it worked perfectly until I updated form windows 8 to windows 8.1.
I am getting the error"not allowed to use the software, I think license issue or something like that even though I paid for it".

Which Acrobat version are you using?
By saying Acrobat writer, do you mean Adobe PDF printer in Acrobat or PDFMaker in Office products?
Also, you might try repairing Acrobat from the Help menu.

Wacom Intuos 3 pen not working in Lightroom 4

I have the latest Wacom Intuos 3 driver for my system, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, and it works fine in Photoshop CS6, but doesn't work at all in Lightroom 4. My Wacom mouse works, but not all that well either in Lightroom 4. I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer.

I did find out about the driver upgrade from Intuous and downloaded/installed it, and after rebooting my computer everything worked okay. The mouse worked okay all along, but I use the pen a lot in Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom. It was working ok in CS6 but not Lightroom 4. Now it is working fine. Thanks for responding.

Encore's Cancelation & will not work with CC Dynamic Link Products

Adobe has aparently canceled development on Encore. I have just upgraded to thier Creative Cloud and discovered that Encore will not connect with Premiere or AE through Dynamic Link.
I'm in the Video Production business, my clients & I still very much use the DVD & Blu-ray format.
Wedding & Event videographers rely on the DVD/Bluray format to deliver thier products to thier clients.
It's one thing to stop developing the app but to exclude it from the Dynamic link...how tough can it be to hook up hte CS6 version (any developers out there?).
Yes I can read the writing on the wall and DVD days are numbered—however Adobe has prematurly canceled a product that It's loyal customers relay on. Yes I know it still works, but I sure will miss the Dynamic link.

My dvd writer is not working. 3000 C300

I have been not been able to get my dvd writer to write on either +/- dvd disc. Its says that the disc is not compatible with the drive or it will say that the drive is not recognized that I may need to update the drivers firmware. I have a 3000 C300 and I did upgrade it from Vista to Win7. Not sure if the dvd writer worked before this upgrade i never tried to burn a disc with the Vista. If anyone could help me that would be great. I really don't want to try and dismantle this computer and replace the writer all together although I really want to replace the processor on this system. I just is not something I really want to do so please if you can help me with this that would be great

You may please try the following steps
1) Close all open programs
2) Click on Start, Run, and type REGEDIT and press Enter
3) Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
4) This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column.
UpperFilters
LowerFilters
UpperFilters.bak
LowerFilters.bak
5) If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete
6) After deleting the keys, close the Registry Editor
7) Reboot your computer

Encore cs5 motion menus not working when build to flash

Hello my question is this, I have created a dvd in encore cs5. I have created motion menus in AE.
Everything works great when I build to DVD. However when I export to flash my animated menu is working but the buttons (play move, chapter select , extras) do not show up until the animation is complete. Is this a simple fix? or should I make the menus static?
