Encore adding gaps between sequences in timeline

I have a project with 11 dynamically linked PPro sequences in the Encore timeline. When I reopen the project, Encore has placed 3-frame gaps between some of the sequences. Here's my workflow:
1. I created an Encore project with the DL sequences, created a menu, and built a DVD image file.
2. Burned the DVD in Toast, watched it, made notes.
3. Edited audio in several reels in Audition, updated the Premiere sequences with the new audio.
4. Opened the Encore project -- it asked if I wished to re-import the DL sequences that had changed on the DL server -- Yes.
5. Now Encore seems to have trimmed the tail of the unchanged sequences by 3 frames, but only the video.
Even though Encore gives be a bi-directional trim icon at the tail, indicating that I should be able to trim it in either direction, it won't add those frames back, at least not on all the sequences -- some of the sequences do let me add the frames back.
When I do trim the previous sequence, it snaps to the nearest I-frame. Apparently, it's trimming the previous sequence to the last I-frame it transcoded instead of leaving it trimmed to the last frame in the sequence.
How can I get around this?

Excellent. I don't understand how Encore could ask you if you wanted to reimport changed sequences if it was not reverting to original. I now assume that Encore does not address the possibility that you might have multiple sequences on one timeline when it does this process, and does not revert all (or any?) and produced the gaps.
So, in any event, your multiple DL sequences on one timeline worked, once you reverted and adjusted. The alternative to what you did would be to answer "no" to reimporting, then revert (which would pull in the newer version). If it was not actual changes that contributed to the gaps, that might avoid them. But I suspect you would still have to adjust the sequences on the original timeline.

  • Adding gaps between images

    Hello Dreamweavers.
    I have adding 5 images which are thumbnails  in my div tag, and because they were all stuck next to one another I created a class css style of the following:
    .space_me_out {
              padding: 10px;
    and then applied it to the 5 thumbails in my Div tag, they all have a nice gap of 10pixles. So my questions is, what it a right method of doing so?by making a class style with padding?
    is this the correct method?
    thank you.

    There is a big difference in semantic class and non-semantic (e.g. style based) class.
    Let's say one is .thumb and the other is .space_me_out. Both creates 10px padding around thumbnail images.
    Later you need to add a border around thumbnail images. If you're using semantic class, you'd just add a border property to .thumb. If you're using non-semantic class, you'd need to create a new class  .border_around_me and add that to all thumbnail images. Not elegant

  • Long gaps between timelines

    I am working on a DVD with about 15 timelines, each timeline contain 1 video track, 4 audio tracks and 9 subtitles tracks.
    When playing in a DVD player there's a long gap between the timelines (5-10 seconds). There are no gaps when playing on a computer..

    That seems like a very long delay. CD/DVD/BDs have seek times for accessing information on the disk, and information may be needed from different parts. I do not understand much about this, and Encore provides no way to manipulate it by allowing you to direct what elements of the DVD/BD get put where.
    In a fairly complex project like this one, I wonder if it is having trouble getting all the selections together (so to speak).

  • Adding a gap between tracks AFTER they've been purchased from iTunes?

    Hello.
    My son gave me his old iPod (white, 10gigs, 2nd generation?), mechanical click wheel. Very nice. Already backed up my System to the little devil.
    I've been buying music from iTunes, typically classical music. I just added to the Mac and to the iPod a small chamber music piece in four movements. Each movement is treated as a "song." When I play them in (from? on?) the computer, they run together without any gap in-between. Is there any way to add a very brief pause between the movements? These are not ripped from a CD where, I gather, you can add gaps between tracks. The question, here, is: Can I add a gap +after the fact+, once the purchased and downloaded tracks are in iTunes?
    Many thanks for your help!
    Alarik

    Ah I see. In that case, you have to switch your iPod over to manual updating rather than automatic updating...

  • Is there a way to insert a specific gap between clips? (CS4)

    I am trying to insert a 3 second gap in between about 15 clips on a timeline. I could do it manually, but it is sort of a pain. How can I insert a standard gap between clips?

    I know of no semi-automatic way to do this--it's going to be some degree of manual work, whichever way you slice it. But this might help make it a little faster:
    Drop all of your clips, end to end, in your sequence.
    Switch to the Track Select tool; I believe the default shortcut is "A", but I might have changed that.
    With the Track Select tool active, click on the second clip in your sequence to select it and all clips after it.
    Using the numeric keypad on your keyboard, type in "+300" for three seconds, or whatever time duration you need, and hit the Enter key on the keypad. All of the selected clips will be moved forward in time three seconds. This will leave a gap of three seconds between the first clip and the group of following clips.
    Go back to step #3 and repeat this as often as necessary to create the gaps. You should be able to mow through them pretty quickly in this fashion.

  • Having issues adding chapters between chapters already selected

    Hello,
    I trying to create navigation on Encore by adding chapters between chapters I've already created and selected in Premiere. Let me explain more in detail what I'm trying to do. I have a two hour timeline that I divided in four chapters by using markers in Premiere, that works just fine when i create my dvd; but what I want to do it's add 3 minutes chapters between those four chapters already selected, so that when it plays on a dvd player, it can be rewinded or fast forwarded quicker, so that it can move 3 minutes back or forth during the process instead of going slowly throughtout the entire dvd.
    I tried to use the feature "add chapters between intervals"  but it creates chapters thoughtout the entire timeline replacing the ones already selected which I do not want.
    Is there a way  to do this with Encore without interfering. deleting, or replacing the created chapters in Premiere?
    Please Help!
    Thank you

    I believe the answer is no.  If you want to make a feature request, see this link:
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
    I would suggest supporting the feature request here, since an export option would give you the ability to do what you want in a couple steps:  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/587573?tstart=0
    In your case, it won't take that long to record the current chapter locations, add the 3 minute option, then replace the 4 chapters, deleting any automatic chapters that are closer than you would like.

  • Gaps Between Orders while Rescheduling in DS Board

    Hi All,
    After rescheduling is carried out on DS board , I observe that there are gaps between orders on the resource and the sequence of orders have been changed.I am planning in forward direction and the scheduling mode used is insert operation.
    I need help in understanding the presence of gaps and why does rescheduling change sequence of orders.
    Thanks,
    Shweta

    Hi Thomas,
    Thanks for your valuable response.
    By using "Interrupt" functionality in DS board, the partially confirmed operations can be rescheduled, but when you double click on this operation, you will see the checkbox "Part.Conf." is removed.
    Now customer want to see this flag stays to be set, so as to configure the color for this partial confirmed operation, and meanwhile to enable the rescheduling functionality.
    Is it possible? Any enhancement we have to do for this requirement?
    Looking forward to your reply.
    Best regards,

    to this -
    <p align="left" class="events_boldRed" style="margin-top:0;"><span class="style1">Charlie Harper Trunk Show</span></p>
    Does that solve the gap between the header and the main content?

  • Huge gap between icons in menu bar

    Lately the menu bar will randomly throw in a huge gap between icons. Initially I thought it was a specific app, but now it's happening with all sorts of random icons there...definitely not the same icon each time.
    The icons you see on the left are the ones I launched after the gap appeared.
    Restarting my machine seems to be the only solution to removing the gap.

    Message was edited by: Josh Pigford

    I've tried trashing the prefs for this and have the icons down to just the Apple ones. Then, as I slowly add other menu bar items, they'll start adding the gap directly next to the Apple items.
    http://share.shpigford.com/images/menubar-20090507-074520.png
    But the thing is, it doesn't matter which items are on the left. Different ones can be next to the gap and it still is there.
    Restarting or logging out/in so far has been the only fix (albeit, temporary).

    HI,
    I have a report in which a graph is placed below a table  and data in the table gets increased with time , then how to maintain the gap as constant between table and the graph ?? Like i have 50 rows in a table and then next day 10 rows are added but then i want maintain same gap between the table and graph???

    >Right click on chart.
    >Open the property and go to the relative position.
    >Select the distance of the upper left point of the chart in relation to another report element by entering - the number of pixels; the part of the tavfrom which youble want to measure the pixels (in the first drop-down list); the report element from which you want to measure the pixels (in the second drop-down list).
    >Repeat this for the distance of the lower left point of the chart.

  • Gaps between PGCG & ERM

    Hi All,
    We are in between of taking decision that either we should include the role generation step in your methology process or not for role creation process via ERM.
    We have Sp13 patch 2 installed in our landscape.
    we trying to find out if there some major gaps between pfcg & ERM.  or any major issue in SP13 patch 2 that should be kept in mind before including role generation step. Please share your experiances.
    Kind Regards,
    -Srinivasan

    Hey Srinivasan,
    Haven't heard from you in a while!
    I am not particularly fond of ERM...
    There is one limitation that I can think of if you have manually added objects in a role, they disappear after you make changes to the transaction in a role.  This was however fixed in SP14. Sometimes that can be problematic.
    Another thing that I would have liked ERM to do is to transport roles across the ERM landscape. That comes in handy if you have a 3 system GRC landscape. Other wise you just have to repeat the tasks if importing roles again.
    Regards,
    Chinmaya

  • Gap in Sequence

    Hi,
    I created a sequence and a trigger for autonumber, as a primary key in my CAND_PERSONAL_INFO table. Every time i insert a row in the table, i get long gaps between my autonumber. I don't understand why cant i get a series of numbers without any gaps in my autonumber column.

    Sequence is not a good way of automatically generating the numbers due this gap problem.I disagree. Sequences are the best for auto-generating unique numbers. Why are gaps a problem?
    The second solution is to fire a query select max(num) and add 1 to it every time you want to generate a number. That is a horrible idea in a multi-user environment. This will fail when 2 users do this at the time.

  • Gap Between Divs Problem

    Can anyone help me figure out why my div named "#indexThmbs" is not sitting flush to the div above it named "#indexHeader1"
    The purple body background color is coming through and I dont know why. There are no top/bottom margins on either divs so there should be no gap between the divs...I have no clue why this is happening.
    I have posted the links to how the page SHOULD look (my JPG mock up)....

    ...and also my HTML file with the problem I'm talking about....
    http://vojodesign.com/proofs/ARM
    Thanks in advance.
    Kit

    Hi Kit,
    I made a quick look and it's quite messy or at least seems that your css needs to be optimized. Anyway a fast solution would be in #indexThmbsInner with your margin-top:65px change it to 0 like:
    #indexThmbsInner {
    height:130px;
    margin-left:auto;
    margin-right:auto;
    margin-top:0;
    width:900px;
    Also you declare many classes that do the same thing, so you can do this:
    .indexThmb1, .indexThmb2, .indexThmb3, .indexThmb4 {
    float:left;
    margin-left:12px;
    margin-top:65px; /* Notice I added the margin-top:65px; here */
    text-align:center;
    width:195px;
    .indexThmb1 {
    margin-left:12px;
    .indexThmb2 {
    margin-left:32px;
    .indexThmb3 {
    margin-left:33px;
    .indexThmb4 {
    margin-left:31px;
    Probably there would be better ways to do it but as I mention it was just a quick look, also I haven't checked in IE just in FF but hope it helps
    Cheers
