Encore Content disappeared from Library

I am using Encore CS6 from Creative Cloud and fought downloading the content, but managed to get it downloaded and stored in the proper place.  When I went into Encore and pointed the Media library to the my location of all of the extracted files, it was working fine.  Although I did not have the ability to search by the individual sets (General, Corporation, etc), the menu selections were all there as well as all the buttons and other content.
I made a menu and thought it done correctly, but discovered that I did not do it properly, so I deleted and started over.  Well now ALL the content is missing in the library.  I checked the preferences and it is looking in the right folder and the folder still has all the library content, but Encore doesn't show any of the Library content.
In looking though many threads on this topic, it goes back a long way with a ton of problems, mostly just trying to get the content downloaded.  I thought I was home free, but it disappeared completely.  It seems that I pay a lot of money monthly for Creative Cloud and it seems this tyoe of problem should not be happening (for anybody usign ENcore CS6), especially Creative Cloud members.
Can someone please help??

Stan,
Thanks for your response.  When I downloaded the zip file with the content, it said I could put it any folder and then go into the preferences option and then pick that folder for the media to appear.  I created a "Media Download" folder and extracted all the content into that folder.  It did work, but without the specific folders for General, etc.  I can understand that because the folders were not in that folder.  I guess I was hoping that the folders would have been created and filled.  No such luck.
I have been playing around after seeing your reply above.  I copied the "Set" folders from the "Library" into my "Media Download" folder and then moved some of the menus into the folders to see if it would work.  I was having trouble, but I think I finally got some of the new menus to show up from my Media Folder.  I was able to click on one of the new menus and it opened in Encore.  But no buttons show up from Media folder.  They are in the actual folder, but are not showing up in Encore.  The first time I got it to work, I saw all the buttons, and other content as I was supposed to.  Then all of sudden a little later, everything disappeared.  I could not read the text in your screen shot to see if there was other content (buttons, BG, etc) inside the specific folder.
I have a project I need to finish up soon and if I just open the button by clicking a button from the folder into Photoshop and place on one of my menus.  Will the it actually function as a button (as long as I "wire" it up properly)?
By the way, I am not able to extract the content into the Library function.  I did copy the downloaded zip file into the Library folder and tried to extract the contents.  I got an error that said  " '0  CRC failed in 'en-US.7z'. File is broken."  I tried to extract it with 7-Zip.  That was the same app I used when I was able to extract the first time.

  • Content disappearing from Apple TV

I am running the latest version of iTunes on my MacBook Pro and syncing this with Apple TV (also fully updated). I have noticed that purchased content disappears from the Apple TV, and in some cases, from the MacBook. For example, I have purchase a season of Stargate Atlantis, downloaded and successfully synced, but then the following day episodes 3 and 5 will be missing from iTunes and Apple TV. They still exist in the backup (within the music library under "TV Shows," but what gives? Why so buggy? Thanks in advance for any comments!!

Well nothing should ever disappear from iTunes, but for the AppleTV. Syncing doesn't really mean all content will always be there. It will sync, Movies, then TV, Music, then Photos in that order. If more spaces is needed for lets say a Movie, it will pull off photos, music, then TV shows in that priority order. The AppleTV I believe is going to try to save room on itself never knowing when you may download a rental or new content from the online store via the AppleTV. It will sync back content if there is room, if not then it will leave it on your computer and then stream when needed. Synced content just allows for faster access and access when computer is not on.

  • Attempted to download a movie and movie disappears from library.

Attempted to download a movie, looks complete, but unable to sync to iPod... restart iTunes and movie disappears from library.  No files in media folder and iTunes store thinks that it has been downloaded already.  Worked with iTunes account people who were very responsive, but after multiple resends on their side, the problem continues and they suggest a local problem on my side.  Thoughts?

Hey Jerry... I ended up submitting a formal feedback issue and someone got back to me fairly quickly.  Responses are typically from an offshore team I assume, since they happen at night.  The email address that I have been corresponding with is [email protected] .  I'll keep this string posted if I make any progress... Good luck!

  • Itunes music disappearing from library

I recently got a new laptop and copied all my music across however after working perfectly for weeks I found that when I went on to itunes all my music had disappeared from my library. I then transferred it again and it did the smae, as in it worked fine for a while and then was empty again. This has happened 3 times now and it is really frustrating. Another thing I have noticed is that I find an itunes genius file and an itunes extra file in my recycle bin, when I havent deleted them??

She transferred all my old files to my new sn and when I went to open my itunes, my library was completely empty... so i went back on my old sn to open it up and it was also empty... I don't know what happened, and i'm freaking out can anyone help me

  • Files disappeared from library, "missing" files not really missing

I had a folder with 3 files in different formats for each image.  These were imported several days ago, grouped into stacks, captioned, tagged, etc. and synced to the files.  They continued to exist in the library some time afterward, but today when I opened lightroom all of the jpg versions of all of the images and all 3 formats of one image in particular had vanished from the library.  It did not claim that it could not find them on disk (and in fact the files *do* still exist on disk right where they should), they just didn't show up.  I was able to re-import all of the jpg images without trouble, but for the other two formats of the one missing image, importing one of them fails because it "already exists in the library," and the other one is willing to import but then doesn't show up in the folder or the recently imported files list.  When I try to synchronize the folder, it suggests that I import that file, but it never actually does.  Since importing the jpgs, it also suggests that I remove 53 "missing" files, the number of jpgs imported.  When I view the missing files in the library, it shows only 2 of the jpgs, one of which belongs with the files that will not import and neither of which is actually missing--they can both be synchronized just fine by clicking the little synchronize icon on the actual photo.
Does anyone know what's going on here and how I might be able to get the files that won't import back into the library?  And how to be sure that files won't just go away on their own again?
Edit: to be clear, missing versions of files were definitely not stacked with the other ones and the "don't import duplicates" box was not checked when re-importing the ones that won't re-import

I managed to get the photos that wouldn't import back in by deleting them directly out of the database and then reimporting them into lightroom. I'm a little concerned that they disappeared in the library view in the first place, though.  Does this sort of thing happen often, and under what circumstances?  I'm still in the free trial period and was very close to buying the program, but now I'm not so sure.  If I'm using an application to manage my photos, I want to know that it's actually managing all of the photos I put into it and not randomly forgetting about them.
I'm still having the not-really-missing files problem, though.  I think it may actually be because they got associated as "sidecar" files somehow and are now in there twice, once as the sidecar file and another time as a separate jpg image.  I'm not really sure why only one of them shows up in the missing images view, I think it might be because I edited that one so it's in a slightly different state from the others?  If there are any tips on how to resolve that state, I'm all ears, I'd like it to stop telling me I have 53 missing files when I don't.

  • Photos disappear from library

I imported 82 photos from my camera to iPhoto (8). I viewed them in the library but noticed some old photos were mixed in, which was weird. I tried to open the 3 new events, but they didn't open and got jumbled as well. I closed iPhoto and when I reopened the same library, it was missing 58 photos of the latest import. If I go to the Finder and do a search for the missing numbers, they show up as being part of the iPhoto library, once in "originals" and once in "data". so they're in there, somewhere; just not showing up when I open iPhoto. Restarting didn't help.
Would opening the images in Photoshop from the found list and saving them elsewhere be unwise "messing with iPhoto folders" (as I know one should never do...)?
I am on a 2004 iBook G4, and away from home, so I don't have access to my system discs etc.

iPhoto 08? Or iPhoto v8 which iPhoto 09?
    If the latter:
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
    Or if it's iPhoto 08:
Try these in order - from best option on down...
    1. Do you have an up-to-date back up? If so, try copy the library6.iphoto file from the back up to the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) allowing it to overwrite the damaged file.
    2. Download <a href="http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/"><b><u>iPhoto Library Manager</b></u></a> and use its rebuild function.
    3. If neither of these work then you'll need to create and populate a new library.
To create and populate a new *iPhoto 08* library:
Note this will give you a working library with the same Events and pictures as before, however, you will lose your albums, keywords, modified versions, books, calendars etc.
In the iPhoto Preferences -> Events Uncheck the box at 'Imported Items from the Finder'
Move the iPhoto Library to the desktop
Launch iPhoto. It will ask if you wish to create a new Library. Say Yes.
Go into the iPhoto Library (Right Click -> Show Package Contents) on your desktop and find the Originals folder. From the Originals folder drag the individual Event Folders to the iPhoto Window and it will recreate them in the new library.
When you're sure all is well you can delete the iPhoto Library on your desktop.
In the future, in addition to your usual back up routine, you might like to make a copy of the library6.iPhoto file whenever you have made changes to the library as protection against database corruption.

  • Photos disappeared from Library and Rebuilding with iPhoto Libr. Mgr worse

    1. For several days, when I attempted to transfer photos from Iphoto to Ofoto, the programs would freeze and I couldn't do the transfer.
    2. When that problem disappeared, I created a few small albums, uploaded them on Ofoto, and sent them out via the Kodak website.
    3. A day or so later, I found that those albums in iPhoto, as well as one in Iphoto that I had NOT uploaded to Ofoto, were empty--no photos. I discovered that all the photos were in the trash.
    4. I selected the "trashed" photos and put them into the Photo Library. They then re-appeared in their original albums.
    5. After this, I discovered that the "last roll" file (uploaded from the camera) within the past couple of days was blank. These photos were NOT in the trash.
After these events, and following advice I saw in this Forum, I downloaded iPhoto Library Manager and rebuilt the Library. During the course of the rebuilding a single error message appeared during "Merge," concerning one of the albums in the Library (I clicked "skip") and 13 error messages during "Adding photos to album" (I clicked "skip"). At the end of the rebuilding there was an error message "2817 photos succdessfully copied. 80 photos could not be copied because they could not be found in Library." (They were listed in the Console of Applications/Utilities.)
In addition to losing those 80 photos (all the new ones in Last Roll), the remaining photos are scattered more or less randomly in the different albums.
Any suggestions on how to retrieve those 80 lost photos and unscramble the mess?

Sorry - guess I missed your post somehow
    1. When you say trash the IPLM library, you mean the folder called "Rebuilt Library" that is in the Finder/Pictures, right?
Yes - as I understand it the rebuild library is worse than the original one
    2. Any suggestions on how to back up the iPhoto library?
Copy it somewhere - just have a copy before you start so if things go wrong you still have what you started with - drag it to an external drive or select it and duplicate it - just do it as one operation not in small pieces
    3. Since I'm using iPhoto 4.0.3, I think I have to launch the program holding Tab and alt keys; is this right?
Probably - I frankly do not remember back to iPhoto 4 for this detail - using the wrong key combination will not create a problem

  • Content disappearing from MUSD on project load...

I have a student working in MUSE on a class project.  She loads her project file, and the content is visible in thumbnail view.  As the project loads, however, all content (including embedded images) disappear completely.  So far, searches have not yielded any useful information. Any thoughts from the community?

Bump - Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated...

  • Content disappeared from playlists

After the most recent iTunes update (v12.0.1), all of my playlists are empty. The songs still exist in the iTunes library,
and the playlists themselves are still there. I'd hate to have to manually rebuild all of these. (years worth!)
Does anyone know of a way around this problem ?
    Thanks in advance.
       -Paul in Boston

I have this or a similar problem. In my iTunes Library all of the content is there. My playlists are there as well (so I've not the exact same problem as mojobone), but they have been removed from my iPad. After two iPad restores it is still not done. I have noted that there seems some sort of interaction with the Home share option and the iTunes Match.  I cannot create a playlist on my iPad either. I've upgraded the iPad to 8.1.1, and based on this effect I'm not upgrading my iPhone. I'm running iTunes 12.0.1.26

  • Purchased movie on iTunes disappeared from library and iTunes Store.

I bought the movie Ice Princess about 5 years ago. I just now started to watch it again recently, but oddly it disappeared. I went to check my iTunes purchased movies and it's gone from there too. I went to check the store and it says that it is unavailable in the US, but is available in the Ukraine. Am I eligible to get my money back or a second download?

No, if the film is no longer in your country's store then you won't be able to redownload it, and you can't get a refund. You haven't got a copy of it on your computer's iTunes and/or on your backup of your downloads ? There is no guarantee that any item (including apps etc) will remain in a country's store, so ideally you'd be keeping and maintaining a backup of all of your downloads.
It's possible that the film studio will allow Apple to put the film back into the US store at some point, in which case you might then be able to redownload it

  • Purchased itunes store films disappearing from library and store.

I purchased 'Home Alone' last Xmas and now it has gone from my itunes library and no longer available to download in the UK store, does anyone know why?

This seems to be an issue with iOS 8.1.1.  Contact iTunes Support as you shouldn't have to pay for ringtones you can't use.

  • Content Missing from Library List

I just encountered a strange problem with my iTunes library that after searching the support communities for awhile I wasn't able to find an answer for.  So here goes, I just imported a video into iTunes (10.5.3, 64 bit) which I had just updated from 10.5.2 the day before.  The video is a handbrake encoded video .m4v, iTunes is set to copy into the iTunes library and I do find the video in the iTunes library folder for movies, the new file shows up in my home sharing library list as I can play the file from another computer, it also shows up in the "Recently Added" playlist, I can play it in iTunes from there and I can edit it as well, for instance changing from a movie to TV Show media type moved the files to the TV section of the library but for the life of me I cannot find the files in the Movies, Music, TV Shows or Books section of iTunes.  Can anyone enlighten me as to what is going on with this and what I can do to correct the problem?
    TIA
    Ron

I am experiencing the same issue.

  • Sync content disappearing from iphone

I had sync my music, purchase videos and some dvd movies onto my iPone yesteray. I even play some for friends that wanted to see a movie demo.
Tonight I was out with friends and they wanted to see the movie play on the iPhone. When I tried to select a video the iPhone said 'no vidoes' message and same for music. All the music and videos content I had sync the previous day was gone from the phone.
All the content is alive an well on my desktop and resyncing did not push it back to my phone.
I then tried de-selecting all the music and video to remove the content from the phone, then reselect and resync.
iTunes shows the content being pushed back to the phone in it's display. But no content is showing up on iphone. It shows 'no music' or 'no videos' on the display of the iphone.
So know what do I do to get them back on the iPhone?
the only thing that is ok, my contacts and iphotos stay intact.
    thanks

  • Photos disappear from library; still on hard drive.

This is the second time I've experienced this problem. The first time followed an automatic update of iphoto. This time, the problem occurred when I downloaded photos from a new camera.
I'm not panicking because I know the photos are still there on the hard drive. Last time I called Apple Support and they gave me a route to find all the photo libraries. But I can't remember the steps they suggested, and I haven't been able to find the other libraries via Spotlight; several iphoto libraries are named, but all seem to contain only  my most recent photos (from the new camera) only.
Again, the jpeg images still exist on my hard drive and I can find them in the All Images section. It would be nice not to have to import all of them back to the library one by one! Last time, once we located the correct library, we simply backed up the new photos, and switched to the old library, adding the new photos afterwards (since there were fewer of them.)
Thank in advance for any suggestions!

The only way to open other Libraries with iPhoto 08:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'

  • Photos just disappeared from library - iphoto2

I only noticed that my collection of photos had disappeared when I uploaded a new batch from camera. I simply cannot find them anywhere on my computer.
    Recent changes to my habits:
    1. I was recently in Paris using my hotel's WIFI and I uploaded a batch of photos from camera
    2. I recently did a series of tasks on cocktail - doesn't seem likely there's a connection with the disappearance though.
    I guess they're gone forever?
But why after 5 years would they desert me?

    TD:
Yes I've looked in 'Pictures', used spotlight with some keywords and I've done a random check of other folders in HD.
I've got an Olympus Master app. and HP Photosmart Studio which have photo editing facilities but all my checks there draw blanks too.
