Encore Crashes at verificatiojn of media update, still there
I have 12gigs of ram, alldrives in raid 5, alldrives 7200 rpm. (4 raid 1 c:)Asus 58d motherboard, NVIDIA 5000. Win 7 -I7 processor. Software: CS% Master suite, Creative sound blaster, iolo tech searc/recover, Lightscribe dvd, Memo and Seagate DashBoard(external backup).
I have done the following:
downloaded Roxio update as per forum.
removed blue ray dvd burner.
checked timeline in both PP5 from 30 to 50 minutes (as encore stops at about 60% of rendering media) to see any gaps) and found none. There are not many cuts during the time period involved.
opened encore project as admin.
encore project name is Picnic,
put build dvd-rom to F drive as new folder named picnic.
reboted when necessary.
Also, checked adobe, nvidia etc for up to date drivers
Checked adobe support common problems and this problem not listed.
As you can guess, very frustrating.

Encore crashes at verification of media
I have 12 gig ram, I-7 processor, ASSus 58d motherboard, DVD Burner both Blue ray and dvd only. Raid 5. C; Drive is 2 TB and likewise with other drives.(approx 6tb in Raid).I have successfully burned 1 dvd since purchasing CS5 creative Suite.Due to windows malfunction, I had to wipe the C drive and reinstall programs. This is my first attempt after the clean up. I am having problems in the Build Section in encore. There are no problems indicated. Unfortunately at the Verification on Media (about 60% there) the systems stalls. It won't go past that mark.I click on the program and it crashes. Have to reboot. I have downloaded Roxio's PX Engine, change to administrator, and the only change is a notice that I have insufficient disk space. Burn shows tha Disk Info 3.8GB used and 526K required DVD ROM. Note: Encore is on my c drive? I don't think this is a problem.
Help appreciated. LeoDon't know if these will help, but some reading/ideas

I update apps but update still there? Help
Sometimes i get this error. Although i update an app that has an available update, after i am finished and updated, when i open the app store the update is still there... Does this go away on its own later on or do i have to do something? I have tried deleting the app and re-installing it but the update is still there
ThanksI have the same problem. It seems to be randomly ok when updating from iphone app store if done 1 by 1, but if you try and update on itunes it doesn't work - keeps telling me there is an update. Also, the update all button on the iphone seems to cause problems to.
I have just uninstalled itunes, wiped out directories & registry keys, reinstalled and re synced iphone and still have the same problem grrrrrr!!!!!!!!!! Now I have to setup iphone again.
I have only noticed today, that it doesn't download the new app version. ie: I'm trying to update an app from version 1.71 to 2.0 and it keeps downloading the 1.71 version, so it then tells you straight after that there is an update available. - Not to mention wasting my internet bandwidth as it keeps going in circles!!
At the moment, I cant update ANY apps... The above happens to all my apps waiting for the updated version. Its as if my apple account is programmed to only download the version I have, cause it aint my end!!
This has been happening for months now. Not happy at all. FIX IT APPLE -
MuVo N200 Media Explorer still there after uninstall
Hi
I have uninstalled some creative software an have found that in My computer i am still left with a MuVo N200 Media Explorer icon. It wont left me right click and delete so how do i get rid of it.
Heres a picture of it http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/228/creativefc0.jpg
Please could some one tell me how to get rid of this.
IanUsually applications like these have their own uninstallers, either build into the installer ( ! ) itself or as a separate uninstaller app. Check the site of the software provider for instructions.
Here's the instructions for SyncMate: http://wiki.eltima.com/user-guides/syncmate-mac-os/uninstall.html

Hello,
My computer is a:

16x Kingston DIMM 8 GB PC3-8500 ECC Reg.;
PNY Quadro 4000 with 2048 MB GDDR5-RAM;
PNY Tesla C 2075
2x 2000 GB Western Digital RE4 (7200 UPM/S-ATA II) as a RAID I
1x 120 GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD
1x 240 GB OCZ Vertex 3 SSD (system disk)
Tyan S7050GM4NR motherboard
Windows 7
I freshly installed Windows 7 and the CC-Apps PremierePro, After Effects, Media Encoder, Photoshop and Speedgrade.
When I try to export any video from premiere to the media encoder premiere crashes without any error message. The problem is not the project: I created several new projects and even if I only have one Graphic-File/Bars/h264-video in the timeline that I try to export: premiere crashes. When I export directly from premiere it works, but there is no chance to go via media encoder. The strange thing is that I can export from after effects to the media encoder without any problem...
Second Problem: Encore crashes also. Everytime I try to build a DVD => Encore crashes
Does anybody have an idea?
Here is what I already tried:
Yesterday it worked fine today it crashes when I export from premiere via media encoder.
1. Bars+Tone => export => crash
2. Video Project with 2 short h264-files => export => crash
3. I used Software only renderer => crash
This is the Windows log that I found:

I can't update premiere cs6 and Encore crash
Hi, i have creative cloud and i have installed previous version of premiere pro for use Encore but i can't update premiere cs6 and encore crash when i edit new project.
More information needed for someone to help... please click below and provide the requested information
-Premiere Pro Video Editing Information FAQ http://forums.adobe.com/message/4200840 -
CS3 Encore Crashing Repeatedly
Encore crashes repeatedly. Almost always when I hit the end action setting. When it crashes and is restarted, all the work I have done disappears, even though I am saving after each change. (!) The project is two hours long.
Running XP; 2.8 CPU; two gigs ram.
Could not find anything with Google search or forum search. I nuked some other freeware DVD programs and installed update 3.01. Have not tried to run Encore again.
Aaaaack...gotta get this project done. While I haven't read anything in this thread, I have just gone through 2-3 days of testing out theories and stuff.
About 6 months ago or so I upgraded from encore 1.5 to cs3 because I had a project of a dv avi file transcoded in 1.5 that no matter what I did would not burn a disc or create a folder or image. I gave up and upgraded to cs3 and the project burned right away!
fast forward to this weekend. The same situation came up AGAIN! Now, I had been having continual issues any time I use automatic transcoding for standard dvds, they would come out jittery. My editing system is a high pentium 4 3.2 ghz single core processor. I recently aquired a duo core processor laptop, and so this weekend tried an auto transcode in the duo core laptop with the same jittery results. I also tried disabling hyperthreading in my single core. My project kept erroring upon trying to build. I narrowed down the issues slowly to a point I knew it was the transcoding of the motion menus within encore. I re-enabled hyperthreading and it worked, it built properly!
So bottom line is, I KNOW that disabling hyperthreading is a bad thing for CS3 (and most likely transcoding with it off). And I KNOW for some unknown reason, automatic transcoding always produces jittery video regardless of processor. I theorize now that auto puts it into a progressive rather than an interlaced mode. And it forces you that way, there is no way to change anything unless you go to manual transcoding.
But through the process this weekend, I learned that Premiere Pro 1.5's media encoder can also make an mpeg 2 file from the timeline. It actually seemed to go much faster than in Encore as well. Also, Premiere's is good because you can add markers throughout the timeline, and it will embed the info necessary (GOP's?) to later add a chapter mark in the exact frame you intended upon importing the transcoded mpeg 2 file into encore.
HOWEVER, I found out the hard way that premiere 1.5's media encoder produces a wav file for the audio track, and a .m2v file extension for the video track. If you import that as is into Encore CS3 it will fail. If you rename the extension from m2v to m2p, it will then import without erroring. (I figured this out because I also tried another program to transcode the avi file and compared file name extensions).
Hope this helps someone out! By the way, I am stuck with Premiere 1.5 right now because I am still using Canopus DV Storm which stopped supporting Premiere after 1.5 and went on to solely using their own NLE software called Edius. -
Premiere Pro CC crashes immediateley playing AVCHD media in browser (running OSX 10.8 > please help!
I've been running CS6 perfectly on OSX 10.8.4. but decided to update to a trial CC. That's when all the fuss began.
Trying to play AVCHD material in the browser and it good stuck. Forced quit and then opened again. Then it good stuck in the startingwindow already.
Reinstalled CC, because it might have been the installation. But again failed.
Then used Adobe cleaner tool. But still failed.
Then decided to go back to cs6. But now that one gets stuck too.
Again deinstalled everything with Cleaner tool, and installed my CC trial again. Still gets stuck.
Tried to make a new user without any Adobe on it, but still fails.
What can I do? Because of all this mess I'm a week late on my editing-schedule, which is very frustrating. I might have to go back to FCP, and I don't want to.
Please help me!
Thanks so much. This is the crashreport>

My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything!
My iPhoto keeps crashing after installing the latest update, can't do anything! It used to crash when importing but now I'm at the point where I open the software and after 2 seconds it crashes (nothing connected either). What to do? Can't access any photos
Try this: launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library. Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists. If you can create a new library and import some test photos then the problem lies with your original library.
If that's the case make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If iPhoto crashes while trying to create a new library then try this:
Make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that fails to help a reinstall of iPhoto is indicated. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,
Then install iPhoto from the disk it came on originally and apply all relavant updaters.
P.S. If you're still running Tiger, 10.4.6, then the above may not apply. If you're running a newer system you should update your profile so we have a better idea of where you're at.

In the past, when I updated iTunes, some items would be 'lost'. I quit updating, still running 10.6. I do keep my files on an external hard drive, which I plug in before starting iTunes. If I leave the drive off, and update, would that keep me from losing any files? Also, does anyone know how to search the iTunes store by price? I'm particularly interested in movies and audiobooks... Thanks
iTunes does not have provision for automatically storing one kind of media on a separate drive, so you have some basic decisions to make first. Do you want these movies to still appear in your iTunes library, or are you content with browsing filenames on a drive in Finder when you want to look for one? The second's the easiest thing because then you don't have to have an external drive permanently turned on and attached to your computer (wired or wireless). To do that you literelly only need to drag your movies folder to an archive drive and delete movies from iTunes. To watch them again you can add it back to iTunes while holding down the option key so the movie is used from its location on the external drive.
There's ways to move the movies to an external drive while keeping them in iTunes but the external drive iwll always have to be turned on and connected to the computer or you will see a bunch of broken link exclamation marks.
Realize what you are talking about is not "backup". Backup (which you should do) is putting a second or more copy of items on external drives for the day when your internal drive fails and everything on it is lost, inclduing all your home photos and perhaps things that have been pulled from the iTunes Store and can no longer be re-downloaded. -
Mail 2.0.5 CRASHES ON OPEN after Security Update 2005-009(Tiger Client)
I'm trying to figure out how to fix this.
I rebooted into a techtool pro e-drive and repaired permissions (as well as some other repairs to the drive, etc), but it still is crashing.
I created a new user and opened mail just fine there.
So... it is something in my account. Not sure exactly what to do next?I'm having the same exact problem. (See Mail 2.0.5 crashes when I get new mail). I deleted my preferences & my junk mail settings, to no avail.
A remarkable number of other people are posting with similar problems, just in the past week or so alone, and as far as I can tell, no one has figured it out. There is definitely a bug here. I have a hunch that it may be related to a recent software update. I'm going to post this to the other threads in hopes of garnering some attention from Apple.
For posterity's sake, I am connecting to a Gmail account, a POP account, and a .Mac account.

Aperture 1.1 update still a failure.
Dear group members:
After purchasing Aperture as soon as it came out and realizing how plagued the application was with problems, I decided to set it aside and simply forget it. I contacted Apple and the Apple store where I purchased the software in an attempt to have a refund for my purchase but it was all in vain.
I don't wish to beat on a dead horse as I believe it has now become clear that Aperture's release was premature and everyone realizes that Aperture still has quite a long way to go before it can even remotely be considered a professional application.
Now the subject has resurfaced as Aperture's price has been lowered and Apple announced the 1.1 version of Aperture available for download.
In an attempt to behave in a open-minded fashion I downloaded the update to see if it could bring welcome improvements to Aperture and transform it into a useable application. I was very disappointed to learn that no sigfinicant changes have been made and Aperture remains a failure.
I am running Aperture on my Powermac G5 dual 2.0 GHz processor with (2) internal 400 GB hard drives, (2) external 500 GB hard drives, (2) external 1 TB hard drive, 2.5 GB RAM, OS X 10.4.6 and an Apple 23" Cinema display. Configuration can't be the reason why Aperture performs so poorly. After updating Aperture to the latest version I tried to import my iPhoto library and was actually able to do it although the process seemed to have taken forever and the photos I have stored in the iPhoto library were all taken with a point-and-shoot 3.3 megapixel Olympus camera that can hardly be considered as a Pro camera. Then I tried to import several folders containing RAW images produced by my 6 megapixel Nikon D70 SLR digita camera (approximately 25 folders) and at this point the process seemed so slow I had to quit and start the process again since I didn't know if it was normal for the application to take that long or if there was a problem.
Performance has not been improved and I can't believe this is how this application is supposed to perform on a machine as fast as mine. Never mind trying to run it on my Powerbook G4 17". It becomes so slow it is impossible to work with it.
How can such a "Pro" application perform so poorly ? After all this time is this the best Apple can do with this application ? The company has had some 6 months now to have these bugs fixed and improved the application's performance but it is still a disaster. Despite the recent price reduction Aperture remains an expensive application that claims to address the needs of professional photographers when in reality no professional photographer would consider it seriously in light of its performance issues as well as many flaws.
(Interesting thing is that I run Adobe's Photoshop, Bridge and Camera Raw trio and they all perform just fine. I often have all three running simulatenously and together they still perform way better than Aperture running alone. How can this be ?)
Aperture has a very interesting and even pleasant user interface. I believe the application holds a lot of promise but Apple has to take its development a little more seriously and show a little more respect for its consumer base. The product was released prematurily and not enough time was spent on its development. Adobe has taken the right approach with Lightroom and has released the software as a free beta download so users can try and provide suggestions and feedback to help the company improve it until it is ready to be released. Why didn't Apple do the same ?
In all it is a shame what customers such as myself have gone through with Aperture and how Apple chose to handle the issue. The development team responsible for Aperture should be dismissed and replaced by software designers that actually know what they are doing and have enough experience with photography to create a truly professional application.
Apple should learn from this episode that it shouldn't rush to release a new product before it is really ready just for marketing's sake.
Aperture can become a very interesting product - not one to compete with such a mature application as Photoshop but one to manage the digital workflow and replace both Adobe Bridge and Adobe Camera Raw. But in order for this to happen the Application will have to be redesigned from the ground up and it will have to focus on serious core issues such as library model (no proprietary library), excellent RAW conversion, reliable metadata tools and management and many other features that professionals simply can't work without.
Are all of you having the same disappointing experiences with the performance of version 1.1 ?
Best regards,
Joseph ChamberlainHello,
yes, you are right. I agree, 1.1 is a modest update. There is lot too improve, I think. But I want to offer some thoughts.
On 1. You got iView? Than your aperture library is accessable to you. iView can look into Aperture´s library which is in fact a package full of folders. Every master image resides in its own folder. This is only a workaround and takes time. I fear, Apple never intended to create another archival tool. Aperture is more of a workflow power horse.
On 2. Offline Archiving is not neccessary when you organize your Harddrive Archive thoughtfully. Look inside Peter Krogh´s Dam Book about Digital Asset Management for Photographers http://www.thedambook.com/. He suggests a folder structure with folders as big as your smallest Backup-media, 4 GB for DVDs. Name those folders DVD_06-04-18 and burn each folder on its own DVD. This way your harddrive folder structure is similar or equal to your offline archive. Works great.
On 3. Apple decided not to alter RAW files at all. This has its limitations but is the most secure choice. I like to insert metadata with iView too because it is comfortable.
5. Please see my reply at 1.
6. Agree. And user custom presets with automatically filled in IPTC fields (copyright notice, photographer, contact etc.) like iView offers would be great.
7. Agree a lot.
I would add faulty Webtemplates and a still needed better RAW conversion.
But besides all that - I would say, Aperture is a great addition to my workflow.
kind regards, eberhard -
Experiencing major crashes, bugs still there
The last update was a giant step forward, I'm enjoying working with the new SG version (CC 7.0.1 x51).
But, I noticed the problems with CMD+Z (undo) are still there: sometimes works, sometimes stucks on "optimizing timeline", sometimes the thumbnails in the timeline are displayed, a lot of times my pointer disappears and I have to restart SG.
I'm afraid to press cmd+z now!
I'm doing my first client work with the new version, will report eventual bugs or problems. Thanks Dennis, sorry I don't mean crashes. I completed the work yesterday and the main issues I encountered are with cmd+z (undo). When pressing cmd+z I got these effects (each time different):
1) The old problem of thumbnails, the bar came out and the "optimizing timeline" progress bar is shown.
2) "Optimizing timeline" progress bar is shown, when at 100%, the preview switches to "2 up" automatically with the same frame I actually was on in timeline in both panels.
3) Sometimes after the issues above, the mouse pointer disappears, I have to force quit and restart SG.
I am on a macbookpro (mid 2010) osx 10.8.4, Speedgrade CC updated to latest version.
Will also file a bug report via your link.
I finished the work smoothly and rendered a master, but I will open a new thread with some requests regarding the workflow and some features (missing or hidden!). Thanks

Adobe Premiere CS5 Crashes at startup and cannot update
My Premiere pro CS5 keeps crashing at startup and I tried to update it but it says “inapplicable” and won’t allow update....
I tried uninstalling as well but still doesnt work....For the first issue, try this:
Go to the following locations
Location 1: When in Finder, click on Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Location 2: Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe
Location 3: Documents > Adobe
In all the locations, rename the 'Adobe' folders to 'OldAdobe'
Launch Premiere, accept the License Agreement and see if it works.
Note: You will lose your customized workspaces and keyboard shortcuts.
For the second issue, try this:
If you succeed to launch Premiere Pro, Go to Help > Updates and try to update from there. If you are not able to launch Premiere Pro and have any other CS5 app such as After Effects, open that and go to Help > Updates and see if you are able to update from there.
Thanks,

Since I updated the 10.9.4, It has been crashing almost every time I do something with the Finder. I have a hard disk using an older version of Maverick 10.9.0 and it does not have this problem at all.
I copied the Finder Crash Report, I hop I have got it right.
