Encore CS2 do not see my DVD Burners

It is working fine all time. One day I start Encore CS2 and strange thinks show up.
I start the Encore and it just freeze in a middle of loading. Well a delete custom workspace and try it again it loads fine but my DVD burners disapear
(even win 7 pro do not se them) so fix that and reinstall Production suite CS2 twice but Encore can not find DVD burners! I burn CD using Audition 3.0 just make shure they are fine
Help me please

but my DVD burners disappear (even win 7 pro do not se them) so fix that and reinstall Production suite CS2 twice but Encore can not find DVD burners!
That Win7 lost the burners is odd. What did you have to do to get the OS to find the burners?
Also, when something works one day, but not the next, then something has changed. The task is to figure out what has changed. It could be new software (John T. has furnished a link to a good FAQ article), or new hardware.
While you sort out what has changed, you might want to Burn to Folder from Encore, and then use the great, free burning utility, ImgBurn, to actually do the physical burn. It works at the hardware level, while Encore works through the OS, so it can be fooled, if some software "hooks" the burners and then reports to the OS that these are not really burners any longer, but "logical HDD's." That might get the Project burned to disc. This ARTICLE might offer a bit more background.
Good luck,
Hunt

  • I-movie does not see i-DVD

    I-movie does not see i-DVD
I am using a mac mini with system 10.3.7 with 1.47 Ghz Power PC G-4 and 512 MB Ram.
I was having problems with my I-DVD crashing every time I asked it to burn a DVD or make a disc file.
Then I reinstalled I-movie 5 and I-DVD 5 but now the imovie does not seem to see the iDVD. It asks for an i-DVD version 4 or higher when I have already installed the version 5. It does not seem to see it.
I decided to try version 4 but the installation disc that I have for I-life 4 does not allow me to install I-movie and I-DVD from the disc because it says that one of those applications is open. Thus I had to drag the applications from another computer.
So, I transferred an old version 4 for I-movie and I-DVD from another computer and when I try to make a DVD it comes up with the message that I need an I-DVD version 3 or higher and does not see the version 4 that is there.
The result is that I can create a DVD from I-movie.
If I try to create a DVD booting up on my firewire external HD with 10.3.4 and versions 4 of imovie and idvd, I have no problem.
    Ideas?
    Thanks you,
    Robert Najemy

    Hi Robert,
Mac OS 10.4.2 is now available. Have you considered upgrading your OS?
Having said that, I will qualify it by also saying that I do not know if that one item will solve your problem but I am wondering if your OS and your applications are now confused?
    Hope this helps.

  • Encore CS3 does not see dvd drive

When I log onto a pc in our labs as a regular user and open Encore the dvd drive is not seen by Encore.
Logged in as an administrator, I can see the dvd drive in Encore.
Does anyone know how I can resolve this problem without giving admin rights to students?
Thank you for your time and assistance.

As far as I know, Encore is not written as multi-user, the operator must have full use of the computer

  • Bootcamp does not see replacement DVD drive in Mac Pro3,1

Recently purchased  LG Super-Multi Drive - Mac Pro Kit 24X 5.25" Internal DVD/CD Writer from OWC and installed it in lower DVD drive according to the manuel provided including wire to Sata plug in Mac Pro3,1. A difference is that Top of 2 DVD ports has a faulty drawer door so I have removed the original Apple DVD device from it.
I now have  DVD access/play  using LG in Mountain Lion with bottom Drive but none at all in Boot Camped Windows 7 or 8 which do not see the SATA drive in lower drawer.
Wondering if there is any fix for this.

My Latest email back & forth with OWC:
My Mac Pro is 3,1 early 2008. My understanding before purchase was that it would work in Mt. Lion and Windows.
Is there anyone who knows how to make this work?
This is a very well known issue that was discovered shortly after the 2006 Mac Pro first shipped.
    Sincerely,

  • Encore: Scene Select not appearing on DVD

I created a DVD project in Encore with several chapters. When I preview the project on the computer there is a circle that I can move to the chapter I want to select. When I burn the DVD, the circle indicator appears when I watch the DVD on the computer but not on a DVD player. This is a problem because I can't tell what chapter is being selected. I tried it on several DVD players with the same results. Any advice on how to fix this problem?

When playing the DVD on the computer you probably clicked the buttons directly and didn't use the "virtual remote" of the DVD player software. My guess is that the button routing of your menu is not as it should be.
    First enable
"Show Button Routing" in the Menu Editor. Then uncheck
"Automatically Route Buttons" in the menu's Properties. Now you can drag and drop the arrows the way you want the navigation keys on the remote control to work.

here's a thought-check to see what your Startup disk is. It should be your hard drive, also check your cd/dvd preferences in System preferences. oh-I see you have a MacBook Pro. maybe you will have better luck in the macBook Pro forums, this is for the Desktop machines...

  • Macbook pro does not see internal DVD/CD drive

Our macbook pro 4,1 running OSX 10.8.5 (12F45) no longer seems to recognize the internal DVD/CD drive.
Both the ATA and Disc Burning listings for the MBP say there are no devices of that type listed.
This started when my wife attempted to play an audio CD-R which I had burned on my macpro 1,1 running Snow Leopard and using Itunes 11.4.  The icon for the CD did not show up and the disk didn't play.  It also would not eject.  (She had just successfully played another audio CD-R which I had burned on my macpro).  After some research, we found that the 'stuck CD' is a common problem and the solution that worked for us was cold starting with the trackpad button depressed while shaking the **** out of the computer (and giving it a few 'love taps') .... several tries without the physical encouragement failed before adding shaking ... then it ejected the CD.
So .... we were able to remove the offending CD, but when I tried one that had worked before, a commercially produced CD, it got stuck too and required the same draconian procedure to get it to eject.
I re-cold started the MBP with an empty optical drive and then brought up the Hardware Overview.  It said there was no ATA device and no Disc Burning device.  The device itself must be getting power, because when the CD was stuck, you could hear it trying to do something  when you hit the eject key, and when we finally discovered how to force ejection, the mechanical sound associated with disc ejection could be heard.
I seriously doubt that the optical drive has just stopped working.  Instinct tells me that the attempt to read an audio CD that was somehow incompatible caused the opsys to be configured in a way that makes it unable to communicate with the optical drive directly.  Any suggestions on how to investigate this, possibly from the Terminal, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Joe - but I have discovered how to free the stuck CD from the drive.
The problem now is that OSX 10.8.5 does not recognize the presence of the optical drive at all.  It does not show up in Disk Utility's list of drives/volumes and does not show up in the ATA or Disc Burning categories in the system profiler.  For example, I can insert the system disc, which the drive accepts, but the install/utilitiy app does not fire up .... not initially, nor after I cold start while holding 'C'.  The system doesn't see it.
Applecare was willing to try to assist me for free, but the agent, after helping me run the Disc Utility from the cold start Recovery System, claimed it was a faulty optical drive.  Though this is quite possible, I'm still skeptical and have a local mac guru coming to look at it (for a fee) on Monday, 2/9/15.
In some of my research regarding the stuck CD, there was mention that a CD programmed on a different drive (in a different mac) initiated the sticky CD problem, and implied that something about the CD corrupted something in the guts of the guts of the OS.  But if true, Disk Utility, which likely communicates to the optical drive thru the OS,  may not be able to see the drive.   It'd be nice if there was some diagnostic software that runs on an intel mac that completely runs independently of the OS but with full privileges to directly query the hardware I/O channel(s) that directly talk to the optical drive.  If you know of such an animal, that would be helpful and might save me from buying a new optical drive when it's really a system corruption problem.

  • CS2 Will Not See Brushes

Im working with Photoshop CS2 and although I have all the brushes that Ive downloaded put into the right folder (program files/adobe/adobe photoshop CS3/presets/brushes) it refuses to see them within the program.
When I installed them photoshop was closed, I even rebooted the computer just in case. I tried moving them into the "adobe photoshop only" folder within the "brushes" folder and it doesn't work.
I know these are more recent brushes so they cant be too out of date for this version.
    Can anyone help me?

Are you using CS2 or CS3? Your post was ambiguous — you said you're using CS2, but you put the brushes in a CS3 directory. I assume one or the other was a typo. If you are using CS2, you would put the brushes in a CS2 directory, etc. In any event, brushes are forward compatible, but not backward. In CS2 or CS3 you can use brushes made in an earlier version, but not
vice versa. I don't think brushes created in CS3 will work with CS2, which might be the problem.

  • DVD Burner does not see blank DVD disc.

And another thing! When I insert a blank DVD (16X) to burn a disc, my PB G4 doesn't seem to recognize it, no icon comes up on the desktop, and it gets spat out.
What's going on here? a new laptop in the offing? I hope not.

    Hi Simon,
Yes, it only suffers indigestion with this one blank DVD disc, so much so, that no icon is created on the desktop and the disc gets thrown out. Haven't tried throwing in a blank CD. Will try one as soon as I'm back home again.
    Thanks for your reply.

  • Pioneer DVD-R (107D) will not see a DVD-R, but will see a CD-R

    Hello,
I just burned a DVD-R disc using iDVD and it worked beautifully, I went to burn the second copy of the same program and iDVD did not recognize the media. I tried all different kinds of media, still, iDVD would spit it out and say it wanted a dvd-r disc...
On the desktop, if I put in any dvd-r media, it doesn't show up at all, if I put in cd-r media, it opens up into iTunes nice and properly. This makes me feel its a DVD burner issue...
Has my DVD burner just died? Does it make sense that the cd-r part work, but not the dvd-r? Are they not the same laser? The dvd burner is about a year old now.
    Help!?
    Thanks,
    Vidur

On the desktop, if I put in any dvd-r media, it doesn't show
up...if I put in cd-r media, it opens up into iTunes nice and
properly. This makes me feel its a DVD burner issue...
Check the CD/DVD control pane. It can set it to "ignore" blank media (at the finder level) or you can specify what program to open. Defaults are iTunes for CD-R and iDVD for DVD-R.
Sounds like it may be set to do nothing on blank DVD media.
