Encore CS3 library install fails on win7 64bit pro

Hi
Just installing my discs from Premiere Pro CS3 onto a win 7 64 bit pro PC, which was my Win X 32bit PC but with all new components except Power supply unit and my Audigy X-Fi elite pro sound card.
Exit Kaspersky IS 2014.
Premiere CS3 failed to go on though other third part components did.
I then disabled Kaspersky IS 2014 AND made the User Account Control 'off', and bingo, it worked.
So now reboot and turn off KIS and check UAC is off, and proceed, install Encore CS3. it went on
However Encore CS3 library has a red X.
try again select install library, long wait for the green progress bar to finish, result still not on.
Why and what else can I do ?
Has anyone else had a battle installing CS3 onto win7 pro 64bit or just win7 64 bit ?
Merlin

CS3 is 32 bit. But it sounds like you got that part to work. Does Encore run? I don't think that is the issue; I suspect permissions.
If you are just wanting menus, etc, just use the CS6 download. Don't use one of the links with an installer; just download and unzip to the correct location. The menus were not updated from the pre-CS4 pars (Encore knows to do this), so I suspect you will be fine. I have not actually used the recent library with CS3.

CS6 install fails on Retina Macbook Pro (10.8.2)
I downloaded the CS6 Design and Web Premium trial and attempted to install. It downloaded fine and I can open the .dmg file, but the instant I click the Install application I get the error message "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." I did as it said but it detected nothing. I deleted the trial and downloaded the Master Collection CS6 trial to see if the result was any different.... it wasn't. Got the same error message. I looked though other forums and tried their methods to fix this but I have had no luck. Time is kind of, of the essence. Start school in a few days and a Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator class is difficult without Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator.
    Anybody know what to do?
    -Dylan

I did try a new account and it failed.
I seem to have found a workaround. I used the application manager linked HERE and my issues have been resolved. I was able to install all of the CS6 programs with that Manager. Must have been giving me corrupt files or the manager itself was corrupt.
Everything downloaded, installed, and updated perfectly. All I did was make sure I had every trace of previous attempts deleted off my computer then downloaded the app manager.
Very weird fix but I'm happy it worked. Thanks.

  • RH9 Installation Fail on Win7, 64bit

After five days of attempting to install Adobe RoboHelp 9, hopefully someone here can give me some esoteric clues as to what to do next.
I purchased RH9 on Tuesday and the installation immediately failed, with the following errors/warnings (at the bottom of this comment). I hooked up with tech support, and the gal took over my computer for two hours, attempting all sorts of fixes and magic. Every single effort failed with the exact same errors/warnings. I lost the connection with her because a reboot took longer than the ten-minute time limit and never heard back from her. Despite an open case (#0181993020) and my updating it through the week, I have not heard back from tech support.
    Here is what I’ve tried:
Diagnostic boot (no non-critical services and start-up programs).
    Safe boot.
    Anti-virus on/off.
    Firewall on/off.
    UAC on/off.
Uninstall all “payload” apps (including AIR).
Manually install all “payload” apps (including AIR).
Where possible, manually unistalled/installed failed installation apps such as Microsoft_VC90_ATL_x86.
    Uninstall RH8.
    Reinstall RH8.
Manually edit Registry to remove all vestiges of RH8/RH9.
    Incense and prayer.
New user profile (and re-trying everything I'd already tried).
Take ownership of entire system disk.
Extract install files to separate disk.
…a lot of other stuff I’ve forgotten while in the fugue…and, of course, rebooting the machine after everything and re-downloading the software...
Here’s the kicker: no matter the environment or what I tried, the errors/warnings are exactly the same and there is no error event in the Event Viewer.
I’m running Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit on an i7-965 system with 12GB of RAM and approximately 3TB free disk space and Nvidia GTX280 cards. All drivers are current. No other Adobe app has issues (Adobe Master Collection CS5 is installed, as is RH8 and Captivate 4). Everything is installed and run off this one machine.
It is, of course, driving me nuts…<G>
Any advice or off-the-wall suggestions would be most welcome, especially from any Windows 7 64bit users. Here are the errors/warnings:

  • Lion install fails on my MacBook Pro

I downloaded Lion to my MacBook Pro and when it completed downloading it went to install and now I get the error that the install failed and the HD is damaged and can't be repaired.  The only option is try again and that ends up in the same results/ message.  How can I recover previous OS?
    Charles

If you are running OS X 10.7.5, make sure that you have the correct version of AiPort Utility liked below:
AirPort Utility 5.6 for Mac OS X Lion
You may have downloaded AirPort Uility 5.6.1, which is not the right version for Lion.
If you have moved to Mountain Lion 10.8.x, you will need to use a workaround to install AirPort Utilty 5.6.  See this article for details:

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up +en passant.+
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. Do they fail to install? If so, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you?
If the Windows Update errors are also 80070002s, then try the following Microsoft document:
    [Windows Update error 80070002|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Windows-Update-error-80070 002]
If that gets your Windows Updates installing again, stock up on any you're behind on. Then try another iTunes install Does it go through properly this time?

  • Flash install problems on Win7 64bit install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1.exe

Flash Version: Adobe Flash Player 10.3.183.7 (2,94 MB)
    Windows: Win 7 - 64 Bit SP1, German
    Hi,
My system hdd crashed last week  (yes, I have a data backup) and last weekend I'm started to reinstall everything.
At the point, I started to install flash player or acrobat reader, I came to an problem.
I download the installer "install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih.exe" and put it on the desktop. Right click, start as admin and the exe disappeares. (I'm member of the admin group, system is not member of an Active Directory)
I checked process list an I found the process which flips:
    started with: install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih.exe
    this started install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1.exe which started
    install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1.exe and this started
    install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1_1.exe
After the new process started, the older process kills automatically. Only two adobe jobs are in the process list all the time.
In the temp folder, I found
    install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih.exe
    install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1.exe
    install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1.exe
    install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1_1.exe
    install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1_1_1.exe

    and lot of more.....
I restarted my system several time, disabled AVG antivirus, installed lates Microsoft patches and I tried to unpack the Adobe executable but stops with a password request. Looks like the exe is password protected.
The funny thing is, that I have the same problem with the acrobat reader X.
I never saw this problem before, all other installer (Office, Firefox, Irfanview, Itunes, ....) works well, only the Adobe installer are all broken.
How I can fix that whithout reinstalling everything. Please help.
    Thanks a lot

  • Installing itunes on WIN7 64bit

i tried installing itunes 64 on windows 7 64 bit - but the installation won't start, it does nothing, what do i need to do ?

Usually antivirus is the cause. Try to start AMDS manually see what it does, if effect is the same, I would switch antivirus.
Close iTunes and disconnect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Click the Windows Start button .
In the Start Search field type Services.
In the Programs section of the search results, Click "Services".
Select Apple Mobile Device and click Stop the service
After the service has stopped, click Start the service.
After the Apple Mobile Device service has started again, open iTunes and connect the device.
Here is the source for instructions:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows

  • Install failed on Win7/64.

After backing up the involved files, and copying the new files to the appropriate locations, during AI startup I get
    Error loading plugins.
    SVG File Format.aip
    and then
The operation cannot complete because of
    an unknown error. [EXST]
And inside Illustrator, there are multiple instances of the affected Window menu entries.
I rolled back to the backups for now, but I'd be interested in getting past this.
    Thanks,
    Allen

    Hi Rama,
You may have identified the problem. I didn't realize Illustrator would scan all files in its installation folder tree, so I had my backup in a bad location.
I have moved the backup, but when you say to delete the preferences, do you mean JUST the AIPrefs file, or ALL the files (about 12 files) in the settings folder? Or perhaps even all the other folders in the settings folder (Brushes, Composite Fonts, Graphic Styles, ..., Plug-ins, ..., Workspaces)?
    Thanks,
    Allen
    UPDATE:
Before determining exactly what to delete in the Preferences folder(s), I launched Illustrator, got the same error messages one time, and now on all subsequent launches there are no more errors, and all the duplicate plugins have disappeared.
So the problem appears to be solved without having to reinstall Illustrator.
Thanks very much for the help. I would still be interested to know what parts of the Settings folder tree could be safely deleted, if you have a chance to reply.
And of course I'm tempted to try the HTML5 pack again, but I'll have to wait until I've completed some important work in Illustrator today.

  • Windows 7 Install fails on early Mac Pro

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced a blue screen failure during installation of Windows 7 RC 32-bit on an early Mac Pro (pre-2008). I get almost to the very end of the install during the copy files/settings phase (last one), and after a reboot, Win7 seems to start, but eventually crashes with a blue screen.
This is on a separate hard drive formatted to all NTFS. I've tried an install from the DVD from scratch (freshly formatted drive), and then again as an upgrade from a Vista installation (this all took many hours - and I do this for fun?). All with 32 bit since I don't have access to 64 bit drivers. But the result was uniform in both cases. The same version installed perfectly with vmWare Fusion.
So I suspect some issue with my Mac Pro Quad, which is an early, first generation version. I know others have had success with Win7 on a Mac Pro, but maybe on 2008 and later versions?
I have yet to try Win7 64-bit. Hopefully will get cured by final release, but would just like to know if anyone else with early Mac Pros have had success.

I don't think you really need to worry about 64-bit drivers - I don't have any Apple software or Boot Camp.
You don't mention RAM, disk drives, or graphics card, or any other hardware and whether you tried w/o.
I would warn that our early Mac Pro will have to work around the EFI boot menu that Windows 7 RC x64 presents.
I've had my 7300GT culprit; a disk drive that had to be reformatted in Vista; pull the 4 x 512MB of RAM (Apple) that was beginning to trigger a red light. So there are various items. And they all took hours to diagnose, swapping hardware; lots of head scratching.
There is no cure except to get around hurdles. We are stuck in EFI 32-bit land. May have to / want to buy 10.6 to get newer drivers, but that won't add 64-bit support. You can if you must, get 64-bit Boot Camp. I feel it is optional.
If you can install Vista, then install Windows to another drive, leaving Vista alone. Burn the ISO to DVD and copy the DVD back to a 8GB NTFS partition and run Windows Install Setup off that is fast and neat.
Setup a drive with room for Vista, Windows 7 RC, 8GB ISO partition, and data partition. Or expand to multiple drives.
Burn the DVD slower. There are other tips and ideas.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1866970&tstart=0
I've found Kaspersky 2010 beta and license from 2009 Internet Suite to probably be the best I've tested so far in that area.
Fusion use to use Windows Server 2008, maybe it got updated to include a better profile, or it was only x64 that had any problems. Sun VirtualBox is another. With that, you can modify the DVD to allow booting easier if needed.
I have Vista SP1, then put in Vista SP2-RC (same drive) and for Windows 7 I have one install that is for testing anything new first, and another that I use daily regularly - and prefer to use 7.7100 RC now instead of Vista.
Installing Windows while booted in Windows is neat, can be fast, but first find the hardware issue. Most BSOD is drivers and need to safe boot and uninstall drivers, but you may not have gotten even that far. And don't until you have a restore point, and be ready to reboot from Vista or 7 DVD to repair Windows.

  • Snow leopard install fails on 17" MacBook Pro

I left the install disk running then came back to see the Apple logo screen - the machine will not boot into OS X of any number. On second try, the installer ran into an error and reported that MacOS cannot be installed on this disk!
I used disk utility to repair disk - it was ok except for a mention that SUID file "system/libray/coreServices/remoteManagement/ARAAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAAg ent" has been mdodified and will not be repaired. As well, the boot support sections would be made as required.
I then repaired the permissions - there was nothing too out of place there.
I am now making a disk image of my drive incase anything worse happens.
Sure hope I don't have the pain of recovering all my email and setting, passwords and junk from my disk image - should I have to erase to do a "clean install"
I read that Apple recommended installing Snow Leopard over the existing OS .. and cleaned-up detrius from previous installs.
Soundl like I have some trojan in my remote management - or some system fault is interfering with the install.

No, it sounds like you either have corrupted files or a problem with the hard drive.
The SUID message is irrelevant. Unless you are maintaining Windows systems from a Mac you are not even using Apple Remote management. However, the error is not reported by Disk Repair. It would be reported by Permissions Repair. You need to do both:
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger and Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior (4.0 for Tiger, and 4.1 for Leopard) and/or TechTool Pro (4.6.1 for Leopard) to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
After you backup I would erase your drive and install Snow from scratch. I would reinstall your third-party software from scratch but avoid third-party add-ons such as contextual menu items, preference panes, startup items, login items, Internet plug-ins, input managers, and the like as some may or are not compatible with Snow.
