Encore CS3 - Out of Memory & C++ Runtime Error

I'm running Encore CS3 and I encounter several problems with a recent project that have made Encore practically useless.
When I try to preview the project, play a timeline or preview a menu I get this error. Out of Memory - Please Save and exit immediately to avoid data loss. I also get the c++ runtime error sometimes while trying the same actions.
I've also had Encore hang while trying to import .m2v files, although this appears to happen randomly. Clearing the media cache seams to fix it, sometimes.
All video was compressed with Cinemacraft Encoder 2.70.02.12 and all audio was normalized with Adobe Audition CS3.
I've read through the forms and tried deleting the media cache in the registry and re-installed Encore once. Nothing appears to work, I'm about ready to ditch Encore and go with another authoring program.
Please help.
My Specs
Windows XP X64 (Current Updates)
Dual Opteron 275
Tyan Thunder K8SE
4 GB ECC/Reg RAM (Corsair DDR400)
1x 74 GB Raptor for OS
1x 74 GB Raptor for Cache/Temp
2x 500 GB For project/storage
Quadro FX 3400
Sound Blaster Audigy
Pioneer 112D
Sony CRX320E

Why would XP64 be the problem if its worked fine for over 30 projects?
I also tried loading the project on one of our 32bit XP workstations with Encore CS3 and had all the same problems.
At this point the problem appears to be a bug with Encore, because after starting over from scratch I got the project to work fine.
It also appears that if you copy/paste anything it will corrupt your project somehow.
So, the bottom line its this, XP64 is not the problem.

  • Out of memory is full error

I am using SE to export 4 channels of 1M samples. It works OK on the first gourp of 5 but I got a "LabView memory is full" error while less than 1Gb of memory is alocated.
VI "csd_subDataTypeAsyncInvokeC,nd.vi:1" was stopped at node "" At a call to "csd_mxwCopyStringToClipboard.vi:2"
System is using 59% of 8GB. There should be plenty of ram for this. This was the 6th export. It acts l.ike the memory is not being released from the previous export. I closed signal express and reopened the project and exported the 6th file without any problems. I did another set off 11 with no errors.
I installed 3.0 last Friday. This is the 3rd time this week to have this error.

    HI John,
Sorry this took so long. I thought I had responded to this and was waiting for an answer... Looks like my response did not make it to the system.
    1. I am exporting to Excel 2007
    2. I had been able to export with no problem until I installed 3.0, 2.5.1 worked fine.
    3. "Can you upload a simplified version of your code so we can take a look at it?" No, there is no code. I recorded a sample, expand the log, right click on voltage, and export to Excel.
    4. I do not think this is a setup problem; it works fine more than 90% of the time. 3.0 has never given me a problem in the first 10 exports.  2.5.1 Never had this problem.
    5. With 2.5.1 an export of more than Excel's max rows gives a message that the rows past max rows would not be exported. 2,000,000 rows did not stop the export
    6. The error occurred when SE had less than 1 GB of memory allocated. I have never seen more than 1 GB allocated to SE.
    7. There were more than 5GB of memory free, most of which could have been allocated.
    8. I get the out of memory error almost every day.
9 if you ask me to call next time I get the error it may never error again.
     Thank you,
    John

  • Keylight is out of Memory, AE export errors everytime!

This is really frustrating, I need this video to be done to meet a deadline and AE gets an error everytime I try and export even through the render queue!
    8-core Mac Pro
    16 gigs of ram
    1.5tbs of HD space
It either gives me the image buffer error or "Keylight is out of memory. (4)!
    Please help!

You should always use the render queue when possible. Never use the export function unless you need to. Have you tried enabling the "purge" function in the secret prefs? Hold down "shift" when accessing your prefs, and then navigate to the secret section. Disable the layer cache, and enable the purge. You can start with a value of 10, or so, but you may need to set it to purge every frame.
What are your comp/project settings? How big is the comp you are rendering?
After your project renders, don't forget to reset those settings to their defaults (disable check box).

  • Adobe encore 2 out of memory

Hi i am running 3/4 gig of ram adobe encore 2 comes up out of ram after 140 menus (i am making a catalouge of pics and text)
    Can any one help me?
    Kellie

    Kellie,
I'm surprised that you got that far. IIRC, Encore is limited to 99 Menus. Might want to try: http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/comparison.html
It seems that it can get around that limit.
I'm also surprised by the lack of system RAM. I think I have had 1.5GB min. for the last eight years.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • C   Runtime error when starting Encore

I get the following error when starting Encore and it automatically closes:
    C++ Runtime Error
    Program C:\Pr...
Application has requested runtime to terminate...

I have the same problem and I saw that Troubleshoot C++ guide on the Adobe site too.
(I'm having the problem with Encore CS5.1 on a Windows 8.1 machine)
But, when I go to change the "preferences file" as directed -  I can't tell which file is the preferences file.
    can anyone help?
To re-create the product preferences file:
    Quit the Adobe application.
Rename the preferences file (for example, to [PrefFilename].old). Preferences files are often found in the \Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\Adobe\[Product]\ folder.

  • Out of Memory Error in Java Agents running in lotus notes

I have a java agent running inside lotus notes jvm. It runs fine for some days but after some days start giving out of memory error and terminates.
I need to restart agent manager in notes to enable java agent running. Is there a way to catch out of memory error so that on its catch i could restart agent manager.
    Regards,
    Saitu

    Dear Peter,
The agent is written in java and
I need to know a way to enter catch block of 'OUTOFMEMORYERROR'.
My whole code is in a try block with two catches, one for outofmemoryerror and another for exception. When outofmemory error occurs control passes to the exception catch and not outofmemoryerror catch.
Since out of memory is an error and not an exception, is there a way to catch it or run some code when out of memory occurs.
    Regards,
    Saitu

  • "Error: Out of memory" [not able to open timeline or videos in 'Viewer']

    Hello all,
I am opening an old project from FCP 4 to Studio 1. The old system used a 'Cinewave' capture card. The new system is AJA Kona. I opened and changed timeline settings for many projects and they worked. This project the option fails. If I open a timeline this appears: "Error: Out of memory". The error also happens when I try to open video in the viewer. I noticed there are some videos in the SD 720x480 format that I am not able to open within FCP. Yet, I see them in Quicktime. I have saved the project with a new name in the current FCP format. All updates are current.
    What is the diagnosis?
    Thanks,
    Jason

    ummm....
I'll have to check that Monday. I'm actually at home. The problem is at the work computer.
I will check then and report back.
Please look if I need help then.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • Database creation with ASM: Out of Memory Error.

    Greetings,
So I'm running DBCA, choose my ASM configuration, the first thing that sticks out to me is that the password I enter fails, but it still allows me to choose the ASM container. Go forward, choose my options, hit finish, and right out of the gate in the "Creating and Starting Oracle Instance" phase, I get an:
    ORA-27102: out of memory
There are no other instances on this RHEL 4 installation. There's 32GB of Memory. Any ideas??
    Thanks!

I would make sure you set all the Kernel parameters correctly in the install guide.
So ASM is already running and you are creating the DB or you are trying to create an ASM instance?
    Also found this on Metalink:

    SUSE \ UnitedLinux x86-64
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advanced Server x86-64 (AMD Opetron Architecture)
    Linux x86-64
    Symptoms
When trying to increase the SGA to approach half available RAM with an Oracle 64bit version on a Linux 64bit operating system, even though shmmax is set to match half the amount of RAM, you get the following error when trying to start the instance:
    SQL> startup nomount

    Changes
shmall is set to default at 2097152
    Cause
shmall is number of pages of shared memory to be made available system-wide.
    Solution
Set shmall equal to shmmax divided by the page size.
FYI: The page size can be seen using the following command:
    $ getconf PAGE_SIZE

  • ABAP Runtime Error while executing planning folder

    Hi experts.
We have a situation where I can access our planning folders but that's not the case for one of our user. She encountered with an ABAP Runtime Error as follow:
Appreciate if anyone can help me out with this.
    Runtime Error          RAISE_EXCEPTION
    Date and Time          20.04.2007 16:50:23
    ShrtText
    Exception condition "X_MESSAGE" raised.
    What happened?
The current ABAP/4 program encountered an unexpected
    situation.
    What can you do?
Print out the error message (using the "Print" function)
and make a note of the actions and input that caused the
    error.
To resolve the problem, contact your SAP system administrator.
You can use transaction ST22 (ABAP Dump Analysis) to view and administer
termination messages, especially those beyond their normal deletion
    date.
is especially useful if you want to keep a particular message.
    Error analysis
A RAISE statement in the program "SAPLRSSBR" raised the exception
    condition "X_MESSAGE".
Since the exception was not intercepted by a superior program
in the hierarchy, processing was terminated.
    Short description of exception condition:
    Cancel
For detailed documentation of the exception condition, use
Transaction SE37 (Function Library). You can take the called
function module from the display of active calls.
    How to correct the error
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,
    use the following search criteria:
    "RAISE_EXCEPTION" C
    "SAPLRSSBR" or "LRSSBRU03"
    "RSSB_AUTHORITY_IOBJVL_CHECK"
    or
    "SAPLRSSBR" "X_MESSAGE"
    or
    "UPB_PM_CUST_START " "X_MESSAGE"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and you wish to send
an error message to SAP, include the following documents:
    1. A printout of the problem description (short dump)
To obtain this, select in the current display "System->List->
    Save->Local File (unconverted)".
    2. A suitable printout of the system log
To obtain this, call the system log through transaction SM21.
Limit the time interval to 10 minutes before and 5 minutes
after the short dump. In the display, then select the function
    "System->List->Save->Local File (unconverted)".
    3. If the programs are your own programs or modified SAP programs,
    supply the source code.
To do this, select the Editor function "Further Utilities->
    Upload/Download->Download".
    4. Details regarding the conditions under which the error occurred
or which actions and input led to the error.

I have changed the post because I have posted totally wrong info (maybe I need some cofee break).
SHMMAX is settings for max size of shared memory segment.
So Terry's post/answer is relevant to this problem.

  • FMLE Out of Memory?

I am planning on streaming video live tonight and have run into a problem I'm hoping someone can help me with.
I successfully installed FMLE on my Windows Vista machine.  I was able to successfully test it with my webcam and the streaming server received the signal.  Suddenly today, whenever I open FMLE, I'm getting a small error window that pops up and all it says is 'out of memory'. No error codes, no other information.  I'm running 4 GB of Ram and not running any other applications.  I've got more than 20 GB of space on my C drive (where the program is running from) and more than 100 GB of space on my D drive (where the video is being saved while it is streaming).
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to resolve this?  We go live in 3 hours!
    Thanks,
    Rachel

i reckon you have already gone live, but i will provide my 2 cents anyway.
Its probably not FMLE problem but rather the capture device filter which has returned a COM error of OUTOFMEMORY. If you really want to test this out, you might need to use graphedit or some other graph building tool to stress test the filters to ensure they are operating correctly.
I would just reboot the server and pray the problem goes away.

  • Out Of Memory Problem With Creator 2

    Dear Community,
I'm having a strange problem with JSC2. I have a not so big project (15 pages, more or less). I added a new page, and it raised a NullPointerException. Then the IDE stopped showing the outline window when selecting the Design View, and started to show Out of Memory Errors (java heap).
At this time the IDE refuses to start. It gets stuck in the splash screen window, when appears the "opening main window" message. Then "java.exe" process starts to eat RAM up to the limit set in -Xmx startup switch. No matter how high I set this value, it will be taken, always showing the "Out of Memory (java heap)" error dialog. I have 1 Gb of RAM.
It seems like a memory leak, but I suspect about corruption of either userdir or the project.
    Any hint will be welcome.
    Thank you in advance.
    Antonio.

Got this before , it could be something to do with a dead Data Source.
How i fixed the problem was to delete the following folder.
    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\.Creator\2_0
Make sure you delete the .Creator folder not Creator
Before you delete this folder make a backup of content.xml
and jdbc-drivers folder so you dont ahve to and paste the back in once creator and recreate the folder
So basically delete the folder , start creator and leave rebuild close and paste the files back into folder.
Obviusly this is a drastic measure and your defaults will be set back to factory. But by keeping the backed up files as above you will not need to set up your datasources again. Perform at your own risk. Worked for me may not for you

  • Unexplainable out of memory (a bug?)

    Hi,
I'm trying to write some VERY simple for a simple 1d experiment. Using LabView 8.2, I have done this using OOP. I have renamed one of my directories and then could not run any of my VIs. The broken arrow massage is "could not compile this vi, out of memory". The error appears in all VI contained in the renamed directory. I have tried to open the vis in a new project, copy them to a new location, reboot etc. but the error remained. The fact that the VIs all worked before, I have tons of memory, the VIs are VERY simple, and that it all started after renaming the directory suggest that perhaps it is not a simple memory problem and perhaps a bug. Does anyone have any idea how to work around this situation?

This may not help much (make sure to try this on a copy, so you don't mess it up anymore) but I've sometimes gotten lucky by opening the lvclass files and messing around with just them open. You could also try mass compiling the project directory (under tools/advanced in LV).
I strongly suggest you setup some form of version control, (I recommend tortoisesvn which is free and fairly easy to setup). I can guarantee you the time spent learning how to use it and actually using it (I'd say anytime you fix a bug or add a feature, be sure to save all first) , will pay for it self many times over. For instance before messing with the file structure I would make sure the project was commited, then when it broke I would just revert back to before I changed it, and try with a different method.
Here's an article on how to setup a svn repository

  • Linux ORA-27102 out of memory

A few days ago, some processes could not log in and got error message
    ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
    ORA-27102: out of memory
Linux-x86_64 Error: 12: Cannot allocate memory
After some time, the problem was suddenly gone. We had such issues already in the past.
Is there a way to get/monitor actual memory usage ( a)what Oracle thinks it uses and b)what OS thinks Oracle uses)?
Tools like ps and top seam to show shared memory incorrectly and RAM used may be completely wrong!? We currently only use 30G (memory_target) on a server having 72G. We intended to increase memory_target some time ago but did not implement the change due to ORA-27102 coming up from time.
