Encore CS4/Windows 7 64-bit--When trying to "Build" Encore quits.

After clicking Build, new window opens showing a double bar for burning to DVD. Almost immediately I get error message from Adobe saying Encore has quit, wanting to send Adobe engineers details.
Updated Roxio-Sonic DVD Drivers: "pxengine4_18_16a.exe", Encore still Crashes.
Have tried defrag/restarts....Nothing works.
How do I get Encore to Build to a DVD?? Or What is going on with W7 64-bit and Adobe.

Giorgio,
Thanks for the taking the time to respond. Nothing suggested works.
You suggested: build an image of your author or build the DVD in your HD?
I tried both and still get "Program Quits" window, with Encore shutting down without any error message.
You suggested:  disk problem.
I tried different Sony, and then Verbatim disks. Same problem.
Additional Project Info:
Time Line: 1:18:07
Preferences: Playback Quality: Automatic.
Disc Info: free space thermometer: Blue all the way across.
4.7 GB Used.  3.309 MB free.
Same problem also exists with Premier Pro CS4. PPr will just quit for no reason that is detectable/No error message. I do frequent saves so have not lost anything in PPr, just have to restart program. The problem with PPr is not consistant, whereas with Encore it happens every time when attempting to "Build". I suspect fault is within Encore/PPr  and Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit and latest updates from Microsoft. Both programs ran without problems before. By the way. I tried to update PPr & Encore, and I could not, as I have latest versions.
By the way....You are writing from Italy? Where? My grandparents came to New York from Italy around 1907.
Thanks for your effort,

  • "Stream not Initialized" message when trying to build Encore project.

I have been using Adobe Encore CS6 for a while now, using three video camera models.
9 times out of 10 I have no problems making my DVDs, yet every so often, the video clips will have audio and video of different lengths.
Whenever this happens, if I try to build the project, I get an error message pop up stating "Stream not initialized".
I can adjust the clips so that the audio and video are the same length, thus eliminating the tiny, often two frame gap in the timeline, but this only fixes the problem some times.
Today it isn't fixing the problem at all.
I've tried transcoding the clips, even though they are in DVD format directly from the camera, yet still get the same error message.
Any help with this issue would be a god send as it is starting to drive me potty!
    Thanks.

Try HT203242: iTunes for Windows: Optical drive is no longer recognized, or "Disc burner or software not found" alert after install.

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. Your library should be safe, but you ought to back it up anyway.

You could of course use Safari your default browser as a quick method of accessing gmail until you figure out the Firefox problem. (More than one browser may be used on a Mac or other computer).
Is this the only site you have problems with ? and does Safari work ok ?

As I did not want to solve it dirty as Thorsten Reinbold did to build his package I downgraded automake from 1.15 to 1.14 temporarily and built the package with no errors. I then installed the package and all is working properly. I then reupgraded to version 1.15.

  • InDesign CS4 - Windows 7 crashes when Edit Original

Ever since I upgraded to Windows7 my InDesign CS4 will frequently crash when I click in an image to edit the original, usually the image is a psd. I did not experience this problem using Windows XP CS3. Since I upgraded both my Adobe suite and my operating system at the same time I am not sure who is the culprit.
Has anyone else had this happen? Any ideas as to what is causing this?
It certainly gets frustrating trying to get work done with this going on.

I don't remember anyone else reporting this, and a forum search seems to bear this out, so this isn't a common problem and is likely to be something specific to your system. Are you getting an error message?

  • Encore CS4, Windows 7 (beta) + Blu-ray = blam!

Anyone else testing on Windows 7 (beta) seen this? On Win7, I've had no issues with Encore through 3 DVD projects, and rendering with After Effects to both MPEG-2 (DVD) and H-264 (Blu-ray 1280x720) has been fast (at least 3x faster than Encore on Vista), but the instant I choose "Blu-ray" from the Build menu, or import a H.264 asset, everything in Windows 7 freezes and I have to do a hard reboot. It's the only Windows 7 major issue I've had so far.
I've been able to reliable replicate this at least 4 times - start Windows 7 64-bit, open Encore CS4 (fully updated), create a brand new Blu-ray project, and (since the first screen I see says "Build DVD") change the Build drop-down to DVD and - oops, the mouse is frozen, the CPU's pretty much stopped... no, it IS stopped or in some loop or something, but Windows is frozen.
I'm not expecting Adobe support, but hopefully they can remedy this in the future and - a warning - close all your apps before you try this on your machine. If I switch over to Vista Ultimate 32-bit, I can do the whole blu-ray project through to burning with no errors (I still prefer to transcode in AE, Encore is a slug), but I can't get past that drop-down on Windows 7. Odd.
My specs: 8GB RAM, Q6600, oodles of HD space, CS4 Master Collection, all latest revs and patches.

You need to do following things to get it working -
    1.     Install the new pxhlp driver from http://kb.roxio.com/search.aspx?URL=/content/kb/General%20Information/000070GN&PARAMS=
    2.      Turn off the sleep mode off in Windows 7.
Steps to turn off the sleep mode -
    1. Go to control panel
    2. Click on system and security
    3. click on power option
    4. click on change plan settings for Power saver
    5. Set the "Put the computer to sleep" value to "Never"

  • Encore CS4 DLT not recognized when creating master copy

I'm trying to create a css encrypted DLT master in Encore CS4. Entire project was done in CS4 production suite. The problem is encore does not see the DLT drive (Quantum DV-4). It is recognized in device manager and functions properly (Vista Home Premium 64) and yes the driver is current. Is anyone successful in creating DLT masters in CS4 with a similar configuration? Any help would be appreciated.

I never found a solution. However I did find that Vista requires you to run Adobe software in an administrator mode to access certain features. I was unable to use my dolby 5.1 free trial surcode outside of administrator mode. Running admin mode solved that problem. So I never got to test this with the DLT tape drive because I had returned it.
Right-click on the shortcut for the program
    Click on the Advanced button

Any ideas what could be the problem and how to resolve this?

Further proof it's something with credentials/authentication. I found a valid workaround, but I think this one's on Microsoft to actually fix.
I opened up Remote Desktop Connection, put in my username and clicked the Save Credentials box. Then I edited all the other settings. Saved the RDP connection to my desktop. Then I edited it with notepad, and added the password value. I found a blog that
provides a program that'll hash the password for you. I used it so I can say its safe:
    http://www.remkoweijnen.nl/blog/2007/10/18/how-rdp-passwords-are-encrypted/
I put the hashed password in, saved the file. Then used it to connect and it worked. So by bypassing RDP having to ask for credentials, it didn't crash since it doesn't ask. Kind of inconvenient if you have many computers you have to connect in to. But for
those in a bind this will work for you.
This one worked for me, no update or installation of software before it broke, but had a "wife-poweroutage" (cable taken out) I'm just not in the mood to reinstall for this. But the above fixed it for me. Thank you!

  • Windows Error 2 when trying to download iTunes 9 - HELP!

    Hi,
Not sure of this is a Microsoft error or an Apple but I am trying to download the new iTunes on my Windows Vista computer and I'm getting the following error:
'Apple Application Support was not found
Apple Application Support is required to run iTunes. Please uninstall iTunes and then reinstall again
    Error 2 (Windows Error 2)'
When I go into my Programmes, I can see that Apple Application Support is in there? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and am still getting the same error.
Has anybody else encountered this and know how to fix?
    Thanks!!

    HRESULT: 0x8007054f.
... that seems to have been the most popular alphanumeric code in recent days. (Just like katherine's one.)
In general, these ones tend to be caused by underlying problems on the PC that can prevent Windows Updates from installing. So my main strategy with them is to try to fix the Windows Update issues. If we can get Windows Updates flowing again, that generally clears up the iTunes install errors +en passant.+
Head into your Windows Update, and check for any new updates. Do any fail? If so, open your Update History and doubleclick on the failure entries to bring up a small box with alphanumeric error message codes. Are you getting 8000FFFFs? (They often seem to be associated with an iTunes-install 0x8007054f.)
If you're getting 8000FFFFs, try the following Microsoft document:
    [Windows Update Error 8000FFFF|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-Error- 8000FFFF]
Head back to Windows Update, and see if you can get Updates to install successfully this time. If you can get updates now, stock up on any updates you're behind on. Once you're completely up to date in that regard, try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Running this hated Windows 8 and received the following error: Error 7 (Windows Error 32) when trying to re-install itunes. Any ideas or fixes? Thanks!

Recently purchased a new desktop with windows 8 OS. Had no trouble downloading itunes intially and importing library from external hard drive. Old computer tha the external hard drive backed up was windows XP operating system. Then itunes was not working correctly and within a couple uses it would no longer open. Tried reinstalling/repairing and received this message when trying to re-open the  program:
    Error7 (Windows Error 32)
Very frustrating!! I am really not liking the windows 8 OS. Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about computers and just want to be able to access my music.
    Thanks in advance!

The 7 can indicate trouble with one of the other related software components needed by iTunes (like Apple Application Support). So it might be worth trying a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related componentry, as per the following troubleshooting document:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes and other software components for Windows XP

  • Error when trying to build to iOS

I am using Flash Buidler 4.7 on a Mac OS X 10.7 with latest java version 1.7 (64bits), I am trying to build some samples provided on this page:
    http://gaming.adobe.com/getstarted/
I can test on the AIR simulator, but when I try to build on iOS simulator or device, I get the following error:
Error occurred while packaging the application:
Error: This Java instance does not support a 32-bit JVM.
    Please install the desired version.
I don't really understand the error, does it means I need to remove the java version and install another one? And old one or a 32bit one? I'm not sure
I've googled but didn't find a proper answer, so any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Found on the Console this:
    10/11/2012 22:19:29.803 [0x0-0x17b17b].org.eclipse.eclipse: !MESSAGE Rani.. enabling this logging again to verify(during testing)[/usr/bin/java, -d32, -Xms512m, -Xmx1024m, -jar, /Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.7/eclipse/plugins/com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.348297/AIRSDK/lib/adt.jar, -package, -target, ipa-test-interpreter-simulator, -storetype, pkcs12, -keystore, /Flash Builder/Certificates.p12, -storepass, XXXXXX, WasteInvaders.ipa, WasteInvaders-app.xml, AppIcons, assets, com, DebugHostInfo.xml, OnkyIta.ttf, WasteInvaders.swf, -platformsdk, /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneSimulator.platform/Developer/S DKs/iPhoneSimulator6.0.sdk]
I guess if I could remove the -d32 it may work, but I can't find where to change this.
