Encore CS5.1 Crash SonicAuthorCore.dll Win7
Anyone have a solution?
I am trying to burn about 7.4GB of files for a huge movie project to a DVD+DL
all files are .m2v files from media encoder, and .ac3 files from media encoder. I have about 10 menus and many buttons on the menus linking to various chapter markers, on various timelines.
The main movie is 3,895,709KB large and the .ac3 file with that is 119,118KB. I believe this should fit fine on layer 0.
I'm using a LG burner Super Multi MODISC
Someone mention replacing a .wav file with an .ac3 but all my audio is already .ac3. I have tried the running as administrator each time.
I am using a Memorex DVD+DL or a Kodak DVD+DL (the 8.54GB size)
I get this error when I try and burn it:

ENCORE CS5.0 CRASHES EVERYTIME WITH WINDOWS 7 - 64BITS
Hello the forum,
I am really desappointed with ENCORE CS5.0
When we used this soft in CS4 Version with WINDOWS XP on a Laptop computer, it runs slowly, but it runs.
we called the Adobe support and after a lot of discussions, they said that we need to have a better computer for these softwares (PREMIERE and WEB suite)
We bought the CS5.0 version and a new PC : (october 2010)
DELL Studio XPS 8100 - Intel Core i5 processor (3.2 Ghz - 4 Mo)
Memory 4 x 2 Go - 1333 MHz DDR3 Bicanal
DD 1.5 To Serial ATA 7200 Tr/mn
graphic card : 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460
Windows 7 - 64 bits
with this new PC, we immediately have the problem : impossible to open it correctly, very long, and when its opens, it blocks when we try to do something.
we recontacted the Adobe Support (France) and after a lot of trials (sending files, direct manipulations on our PC), they didn't understand and say that we have to wait for CS5.5 version which must solve the problem. they will contact us as soon as the version will be available in order to obtain it with a special price, in respect of the client damage. But we have never been informed, and when we call them to know when we can have the new version, they say it's too late, no special price possible,....
so we never know if this CS5.5 solve the problem
QUESTION :
Is there somebody who had this problem and is there a solution ?
we are sure that the problem is between ENCORE and Win7 but how to solve it
hope my english is clear enough !
thanks for your help in this matter

Adobe Encore CS5 (Mac) crashes when I create a new project
Hey everyone,
I am running Mac OS X Lion (10.7.3) on a MacBook Pro (Spring 2011).
I just installed Encore CS5 fresh off my Master Collection CS5 DVD. When I open Encore and start a new project, once I have my settings configured, I click OK. It waits a few seconds, then Encore crashes. Adobe Application Manager sees no updates available (so no bug fixes, apparently?). What's the use if I can't even start a brand new project?
I know my details are vague, but if anyone needs additional information, let me know and we'll try to get this solved.
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!Are you saying that you did not install the whole MC? Have you installed at least Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder?
I wnder if there is an install issue. Encore is only provided with Premiere, and I don't know what happens if it is installed without it.
If that is not it, look at this. It is not specific to Encore, but may be relevant.

Encore CS5 fails/crashes/freezes...can anyone advise?
Hi,
I am having problems with Adobe Encore CS5, Master Collection. I am having this with both my hi-end PC and laptop of the following spec:
HP Z800 Workstation
Intel Xeon CPU X5650 @2.67 GHz (12 Core)
6.00GB RAM
Win 7 64-bit
HP Elitebook 8740w
Intel Core i7 CPU Q820 @1.73GHz
8.00GB RAM
Win 7 64-bit
Upon starting a new project, Encore fails pretty much every other time when you do one of the following actions:
when you import m2v files as assets
when you import a PSD file as a menu
when you click 'Save' (but it does save the project)
when you start to build a DVD
when it is approaching completion of building a DVD but still writing out the disc (upon trying the disc it does work)
when you start to build a DVD, Encore fails and you cannot eject the disc from the tray unless you hard re-boot the pc.
A very annoying and time consuming problem, that must be a software issue as I have just had my Z800 maintained and had CS5 suite re-installed. This project I am creating is not even an HD set-up, it's only 720x576. It is just me or does Encore CS5 appear to be very 'flakey' and unsupportive as it doesn't even have the library as part of the install.
Can anyone from Adobe please advise me? Or has anyone else had similar issues to the above?
ThanksThese problems are not normal, and I am not sure what you mean by it being a "software issue." Encore users do experience more problems with Encore than other apps in the Adobe suite, and often have to use workarounds, but you are experiencing a very high level of problems that reflect that someone more is wrong.
Some users need to run Encore "as administrator" (right click, "run as administrator").
Do all operations with no disk in the drive and build to a folder or image.
Any difference?
as it doesn't even have the library as part of the install.
That is not normal, although it happens.
For CS5 download:
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/853/cpsid_85388.html
For CS4 (also includes install by disks):
http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408826.html
I would first confirm that you do not have the "LIbrary" folder where Encore is installed. For me (win7, CS5) it is at c:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adboe Encore CS5\Library.
If Library is there, is the content in it?
If every thing else in the Adobe suite seems okay, you can try a repair install. See the CS4 link above.
To check where Encore is pointed for library:
Edit -> Preferences -> Media and check Library Content Location: -
Encore CS5.1 crashes when starting up
I am a Mac user and have been able to use Encore CS5.1 without problem.
After failing to burn a DVD, it started freezing everytime I try to start it up.
Encore doesn't respond and I have to "force quit" to finish it.
My mac is OS 10.6.8. I also use Premiere Pro CS5.5.
Any trouble shooting advices, please?Thank you John!
I tried many things, but finally could solve the trouble!
First, I tried un-installing and re-installing, FAILED.
But the repair software somehow fixed the errors of preferences.

I appreciate another Jon for posting and developing the software.

Instead of booting into the root user account, couldn't you simply type the following into the Terminal?
sudo /Applications/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CS5.5/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CS5.5.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe\ Premiere\ Pro\ CS5.5
CS Repair fixes permissions problems, so that's worth a try too:

Encore CS5 Transcode Crashes System
When transcoding Encore appears to do fine until it gets to the still targa images pulled from the video with rolling credits and music. Then my system restarts. Some stills are offset to allow the credits to roll.
System only used for Production Premium CS5
Vista Home 64 bit
GTX285 Video Card
Production Premium CS5 C: 74GB 10,000RPM
Media Cache E: drive 1TB 7200RPM
Project Raid 0 F: drive two 500 GB 7200RPM = 1 TB
8 Gig Ram
I might have to transcode 4 to 5 times before it will finish with out crashing.
Actions Taken:
Cleaned Media Cache
Manually Deleted all media cache
Freed up drives file space to 40% free space
Latest updates installed for Adobe Suite & Nvidia
Checked:
CPU Temp 47 degree Celcius
System Temp 42 degree Celcius
CPU Useage 70-100%
Memory 7.5 GB Used
Thank You
GregJohn,
I am exporting still images from .m2t video file 1440x1080 then pulling them back in for credits at the end. These are my options:
Bitmap (BMP; Windows only)
DPX
GIF (Windows only)
JPEG
PNG
Targa (TGA)
TIFF (TIF)
There isn't a PSD option without an extra couple of steps.
I know Douglas Spotted Eagle at VASST was recommending Targa files about 5-6 years ago, but I think he was using Vegas at the time.
I have used BMP back in CS1.5 but changed to Targa ever since. I am leaning towards TIFF or JPEG for my next option. I know a couple of HD DSLR guys are using JPEG files to do Time Lapse video clips.
Thanks

Encore CS5 Hangs/Crashes on Import
I'm using a desktop
(dual Xeon quad core processors) with 12 gigs of ram and Windows7. I have a Radeon video card and use a Matrox RTX2 for capture. Regardless what or how I import, I get the import and preparing transcode settings windows alternately flashing. The import as timeline finishes, while the preparing transcode settings remains at 0% and the system locks up. It ultimately give me the "Encore has stopped working window".
Any assistance will be greatly appreciated! One step at a time... Ha, ha!
I tried creating a new encore file, without importing any video.
To do that, you had to have Encore open and created a new project. Encore opens the project and does not crash, right? To do that, it goes through the "loading transcode settings," apparently successfully.
I then imorted one of Encore's menus - it crashed!
When you say imported a menu, you loaded a menu from the Encore library panel? By double clicking?
Have you tried running Encore as administrator? -
Encore CS5.5 New Install crashes when I assign a drive to the project - Win7
Encore CS5.5 open fine but when I have assigned a drive and named the project then enter, it crashes with this error:
"Microsoft C+++
Runtime error
Program: C:\Pr....
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information."
Then when I chose OK it says "the application has stopped running and Windows will search for a solution" of course it can't find one and so it closes the program.
This is a new install and the first time I've tried to run Encore on this new computer.
I've been editing in Premiere and exporting out thorugh AME just fine, but now I need to make a DVD and Encore won't stay open because of this error.
I've tried opening to another drive beside the raid but I get the same error.
I also have a Matrox MO2 aqttached but that doesn't seem to be a problem with Premiere either.
Can you help?
This is Win7 on an Asus P9X79 MB with Intell i73930 and 16 gigs of ram.>This is a new install and the first time I've tried to run Encore
Have you checked to see if there are any updates for Encore?
All Adobe updates start here and select product, read to see if you need to install updates in number order, or if the updates are cumulative for the individual product http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
Have you also made sure Win7 is updated?
And, some other things to check...
As well as the below, right click the Encore icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems... To create a two layer DVD (or a BluRay?), you MUST have Encore set to use the Run as Administrator option

Ok, for starters, I've been using cs3-4-5 for a while to create DVDs, no problem whatsoever. Even with ADL (Adobe Dynamic Link). I've been able to burn 1 perfect blu-ray project, it was on a fresh install of CS5. Since then Encore CS5 keeps freezing when re-importing the files right after the transcoding. It always freezes at the same place on many different projects;
The filename is: _sessionFiles_Asf_session_1_audio.ac3
I've tried many things: run as admin, holding ctrl/shift/alt on startup, cleaning cache. I even used the compressed files from the transcoded folders. My audio and video are of the same length. I just re-installed the suite today just to try it again on a clean install.
I've also tried the audio as pcm:

Any feedback would be really appreciated!I was able to burn a blu-ray disc with my latest project but not without any hassles!!! I had to remove all audio from the menus except the main one. The software allows me for 1 menu with audio along with my main timeline. If I add audio to another menu, it crashes.
My project is a 4cam live show with 1 audio track.
The source format is from my HDV Camera. So it's a .m2t file.
The audio track is from the soundboard, a .wav file.

I've done another project and have encountered the same problems. So what I do now is main menu with audio, rest of the menus no audio.
I like Encore coz I can do popmenu with it, other softwares don't offer it. With other softwares I can do a perfect blu-ray with audio on all menus but no popmenu. That's why I'm working so hard to try to resolve the errors with Encore, so I can have projects with popmenu!!! If other softwares would allow for popmenu I would drop Encore. -
Hi all,
Trying to now burn a DVD but Encore keeps crashing.
Either when burning DVD, the process begins but crashes after 10-20 secs. Or when checking the project, it displays any issues and then crashes after a couple of seconds. (Also there's a "phantom menu" in the check, that is apparently 'ophaned'... but doesn't exist in the project, and the psd file has been deleted.)
Tried restarting, shutting down, burning with DVD in and waiting until prompted, burning image; to server and to desktop...
It's obviously falling down at the same point, I'm just not familiar enough with Encore to tell.
Help with this would be amazing.
Thanks,
Rich

Encore CS5 crashes on importing assets
I am running CS5 on a fresh install with Windows 7/ 64 bit with 8GB RAM on 2.66GHz quad CPU, NVidia GeForce 8800GT video card with latest video drivers. I also have a Matrox MX02 Mini installed. Photoshop CS5 and PremierePro CS5 so far work perfectly. Encore CS5 will run but crashes when I try to import an asset. It doesn't matter what kind of an asset it is (wav, mp3, avi, mpg, etc.), it will crash. Encore will show a window which says "Preparing Transcoding Settings", tries to import the aset, says that it has 20 or 30 minutes to go (even for tiny files), and then it crashes. The crash involves that same message window blinking for a while (looks weird), and then the program crashes and an error message appears. I am running the latest CS5 updates from Adobe (updated today). However, the crashing of Encore CS5 happened even before today's update. I need to burn a DVD pronto but I'm stuck. Please help.
Sorry when I see disappointment and frustration and when I see someone's going to leave Adobe.
I have your same "gear" and everything works ok.
Just in case you haven't jet done it:
-download Encore update and leave it on your desktop
-uninstall completely the suite and eventually all third plug-ins
-run Adobe cleaner or go to register and clear everything that mentions your suite
-re-start your pc
-re-install your suite with every antivirus and/or antiadware, spyware switched off (obviously don't stay connected with internet)
-after that update your Encore
-swith on your antiviruses and re-connect with internet
-let Adobe Updater modify your other applications.
See what happens.
Apply one by one your third plug-ins
If this will work you had to give me a pizza
Don't forget to run your applications as administrator

Workaround? Encore CS5 crashes when I click "open file"
I'm running Encore CS5 on a Windows 7 machine. The project resides on an external hard disk, and was created using CS4 on a Windows XP machine.
When I first start it up, it opens my project file just fine. However, if I then click "Open project" to close the current project and open a different one, CS5 crashes and burns with the usual "shut down" error message. Here again you are facing a menu related problem.
Again the same advise :
I would advise you not to uninstall Encore CS4. Both CS4 and CS5 can co-exist on the same system. This is because there might be some plug-ins that CS4 might be using and not CS5 which may cause some problem.
Other option could be to open your project and delete the menus in the project and re-import them again. But this is just a guess because most of the time I have seen menus causing problems from one version to other.
Good luck.

Trancode burn hangs/crashes in Encore CS5 but works fine in CS4
Hi,
I've been reading lots of stuff in the threads about Encore CS5 crashing at various times, and I wanted to see if someone could shed some light on my circumstances..
Windows 7, LG Blu-ray burner, everything always worked fine in CS4.
I had been using Encore CS4 to burn my Premier CS5 projects because I couldn't ever get Encore CS5 to work prior to the latest update..
I did a new project in CS5 and when I did a rough cut burn it worked ok..
Since then, no joy.. It imports it from PP to Encore (CS5) and starts rolling, but then seems to freeze along the way in transcoding and crash. If I load the same project saved by Encore CS5 and try burning to blu-ray in CS4 it transcodes, burns and works.. So it does seem to be some difference between Encore CS4 and CS5. I really want CS5 to work for the promise of not needing to transcode AVCHD, and make it look worse
Couple of things to note that may or may not matter:
I read somewhere that "blank space in the timeline" crashes Encore CS5 .. I mean really? I have a couple of gaps of black in the timeline when I switch sections, but this never caused a problem before, and this seems like a bug that Adobe just couldn't have could they? For real?
I have both CS4 and CS5 installed. Does this matter? I haven't uninstalled yet, because CS4 works, and CS5 doesn't.
I have a GTX 295 (not the 285 and I did the "hack" to load and take advantage of the GPU's with the mercury engine). Everything in Premier CS5 seems to work fine, but admittedly, the one time I did get Encore CS5 to work, this was not in enabled and now it is.. Could this really matter?
Right after I post this I'll be doing that roxio update thing, but I have a pretty fresh copy of Win 7, totally updated that I the only thing I do with it is use it for Premier, so the point is I don't have a bunch of junk installed and use to for all sorts of other stuff.
I really want to fix this because I have noticed that after CS4 transcodes and I burn the blu-ray, it doesn't seem to look as good.. And since nearly all my footage is in AVCHD, and it wouldn't need to transcode it, this not only saves time, it probably looks better, so this would be a super powerful feature of Encore CS5 I really want to take advantage of..
Any ideas?Thanks for the tips..
I changed every file including the name of the project to have no spaces.. I also don't have any breaks in my sequence, I'm not using a timeline, I'm just importing the sequence straight into Encore...
I don't think the GTX 295 thing could be related the only issues I'm having are in Encore, not Premier Pro..
But I guess the news now is that everything seems to be working pretty well and it looks to be transcoding, but I keep getting a:
"Blu-ray Object: Sequence 01/Cozumel_2010.prproj, Export file not found"
The Sequence part is obviously the name of my project file..
I've been trying to read about why this would come up, but no one seems to have an simple answer.. I've cleaned the media cache and renamed the project, but the old project name gets the same error..
And here is the point, as stated before, I open the exact same Encore project in Encore CS4, and bingo everything works..

Encore CS5 Runtime Error & crashes - HELP!
Hi everyone
I have installed Encore CS5 with Premiere Pro CS5 and used it to successfully burn a DVD. Today however, when I complete the New Project tab with the name & location/project settings and click OK, there is a pause of about 3 seconds and then a pop up box:
Runtime Error! Program: C:\...
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in am unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I have looked through the forums etc and the only possible solution was to turn off DLA, but i cannot see how to do this in Windows 7.
If anyone can help I would be most greatful, I don't see why I was able to burn a DVD without this problem last time.
Thanks!I know this is an old thread, but I've been getting this recently and managed to find a solution.
Just for future reference this what I did, though not sure exactly which fixed it!..
I uninstalled Encore CS5
I also uninstalled some software related to the LG Bluray writer I had installed:
Cyberlink Power2Go
Cyberlink PowerStarter
Cyberlink LabelPrint
Cyberlink PowerProducer.
2 other programs I uninstalled: (less likely to cause a problem, but I was not using them)
Google Earth
ArcScan stitch-delux
Reboot
Use CCleaner to clean registry.
Disconnect internet
Disable Mcafee virus scan
Reinstall Encore CS5... then it all seemed to work ok, could create new projects etc.
My PC is running Windows 7 32bit. The LG writer is a BH10LS30 -
Runtime error affecting only Encore CS5
My CS5 Creative Suite 5 Production Studio has run fine up to yesterday, on my 64 bit PC with Windows 7 Professional.
Only Encore CS5 is affected...and only when I try to start a new Encore project. The crash does not happen if I open an existing Encore project...which opens and works as usual.
New Encore projects won't open and get the following alert, crashing Encore: 'This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application support team for more information.
I can't finish my projects and need fast help.Hi Stan ... I can't open any new project or save it. With the 'Basic & Advanced window open I enter the name and location of the new project. Click OK and then it opens momentarily and a RunTime Error window opens and closes Encore. It says Windows is looking for a solution, but none is found. As a result I can't change preferences.
Up until I held the CTRL SHIFT ALT key upon opening, Encore would let me open past projects..just not new ones. Now I can't open any of them...new or past.
But I can open the test project that I open with holding the 3 keys down while opening.
On older projects I'm now getting a new alert "Could not create Blu-ray ntsc sd mped-2.epr. The path is not valid.' Tried 5 past projects and none opened.
Very frustrating. All my other Adobe programs open...PhotoShop, Premiere, etc. Just Encore is affected.
On another note...over the last few months I get 4 DLL alerts that it can't find them...I just close them and everything runs well...as did Encore up to a few days ago. May not be related.
Thanks for your help.
