  • Libre ~ Error 2038 "failed to open the file"

    Good morning.
    I have a Libre-eBook reader Pro.
I have downloaded and synced from Kobo to my Libre with no problems.
But when I try to download ebooks from the public library they download and open in Digital Editions just fine.  I drag and drop them into the bookshelf marked Libre-eBook Reader Pro.
They show up when I turn on my ebook, but when I try to open them I get the 'failed to open the file'.
I was also getting the Error 2038 in Digital Editions when I did the drag and drop thing.  I read through the forum and went through the steps recommended for the Nook ~ deleting the digital editions folder on my ebook and having Adobe reauthorize it.  I no longer get the 2038 error message in Adobe, but I am still unable to open the books from the library.
I have tried deleting the books from ereader and ADE and redownloading from the Library.  Didn't help.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks.
    Heather

    Hi Ambs101010,
Based on my research, the error can be caused by that the machine.config file is incorrect or corrupted. Please use the following steps to troubleshoot the issue and check if the error still occurs.
    1. Open the machine.config in Visual Studio and check if there is any syntax errors. If syntax errors exist, modify the machine.config file directly. For more details, please review this similar
    thread.
    2. If the error still persists, please follow the steps to replace the machine.config file. Another alternative method is to replace the current machine.config with the machine.config file from another computer.
          a.  Go to the folder C:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG
          b.  Rename the file machine.config to machine.config.old
          c.  Make a copy of the file machine.config.default and rename the copy to be machine.config
          d.  If your Operating System is 64-bit, go to the folder C:\windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v2.0.50727\CONFIG and repeat the above steps
          e.  Reboot your computer

  • "Failed to open package file ..." when modifying job step on remote server

I have SSIS package setup on a remote SQL Server to run on schedule via SQL Server Agent. It was setup initially by remote desktop-ing to the server and connecting to it via SSMS running on the same machine where SQL Server is running. Package source is
"File System" and absolute path is specified (D:\Folder1\Package1.dtsx). There is just one step in the job - to run SSIS package. Everything works as it should.
Now I want to modify this job - change number of retry on failure attempts. I can successfully connect to this SQL Server instance via SSMS from my developer workstation. I can then go to "Advanced Settings" for this job step and change "Retry attempts"
to some other number. However, when I press "OK" I get this error message:
    TITLE: SSIS Execution Properties
Failed to open package file "D:\Folder1\Package1.dtsx" due to error 0x80070003 "The system cannot find the path specified.".  This happens when loading a package and the file cannot be opened or loaded correctly into the XML document. This can
be the result of either providing an incorrect file name was specified when calling LoadPackage or the XML file was specified and has an incorrect format.
     ({105912C7-6345-42B4-99B4-58566291867B})
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Failed to open package file "D:\Folder1\Package1.dtsx" due to error 0x80070003 "The system cannot find the path specified.".  This happens when loading a package and the file cannot be opened or loaded correctly into the XML document. This can
be the result of either providing an incorrect file name was specified when calling LoadPackage or the XML file was specified and has an incorrect format.
     ({105912C7-6345-42B4-99B4-58566291867B})
Interestingly enough, in spite of this error message the number of retries is successfully changed.
I understand it happens because SSMS tries to locate package on my local hard drive and the same folder doesn't exist on my development PC. It still doesn't make sense to me. Does SSMS not know I am accessing remote server? How come I don't get any errors
when I just execute this job via SSMS when SSMS runs on my development PC?

Hi, Am facing same issue, but I am trying run SSIS package via C# code, I have given full access to all the folder in which the package is available.
In the below line am getting error,
    using Microsoft.SqlServer.DTS.Runtime;
    Application app=new Application();
    Package package=null;
    package=app.LoadPackage("PackageFullPath",null) --error line
Failed to open package file "C:\SSIS\Package.dtsx" due to error 0x800C0006 "The system
cannot locate the object specified.".  This occurs when loading a
package and the file cannot be opened or loaded correctly into the XML document
full access to which account? also trying to run from where? In the same machine where package resides?

  • Encore CS5.5 error Code "6" Note "551584 11492896 11826176"

This is the type or errors I am getting when trying to create a Blu ray disk on encore 5.5 with latest update to premiere pro 5.5.2
I have encoded many project prior to this update but this one is giving me a lot of headaches.
I have encoded video from premiere pro h.264 w/ 25mbps 1080i and in encore I am trying to burn it onto disk but it gives me Error code "3" saying that device is not ready right before closing the disk. I have tried to create an image but getting this totally insane error code "6" how ever the image file was never created.
What is going on? Does anybody have any Ideas?

The OS you are using is unsupported.
This means that no results are guaranteed - at all.
It also means you are on your own if you insist on using unsupported OS.
Just because it worked once before does not mean it will ever work again. A simple Vista update or a driver update could change things completely. This is what "unsupported" means.
    Sorry.

  • Hi I am getting error code failed to write destination file when trying to transfer an e book

Any ideas what is wrong or how to fix?

Try copying something from your computer to the eBook using file manager such as Windows Explorer.
That might fail giving a more useful error message (such as 'no space available').
Or, if it works, at least it pins down the problem more precisely as an ADE related issue, and maybe it can be tracked from there.

  • Error 25541 failed to open xml file c:\windows\microsoftnet\framework\v2.0.50727\config\machine.config, system error -2147024786

Can someone help me resolve this error which is encountered while installing office 2010. So far support for my issue has been weak to non responsive!

    Hi,
The .NET Framework 3.5 can fail to install on a system where MSXML is not properly registered.  There is a custom action that runs during .NET Framework 3.5 setup that tries to use some APIs in MSXML to modify some information in the web_mediumtrust.config
file that is a part of the .NET Framework 2.0.  In the cases that we've seen of this issue so far, one of the MSXML CLSID values was somehow unregistered on the system, and that causes this custom action to fail.
You can use one of the following options to work around this issue if you encounter it during .NET Framework 3.5 setup.  Note that these workarounds are only useful for this exact error and HRESULT value.  They will not help fix all possible .NET
    Framework 3.5 setup failures.
    Re-register msxml3.dll by running regsvr32 msxml3.dll
Re-install MSXML3 by downloading and installing the package from
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=28494391-052b-42ff-9674-f752bdca9582

  • HP DESKJET INK ADVANT K209a-z, extraction fialed : error message "0 cannot open output file"

    D/Sir,
I have extracted hp deskjet int advant k209a-z driver using 7zip.
I was getting the error "Extraction Failed: Cannot Open Output File".
On extract with 7-zip, I get the message:
0 can not open output file "<folders>/Autorun.inf"
I am on business laptop with Windows XP but tried with Admininstrator login as well.
Please help me. How to extract it sucessfully?

That type of error message may be indicative of a bad file. Did you download it on the web? If so, try again, but do not use a download manager or program to do it, those can occasionally cause problems with compressed files.
It could be possible, also, that some sort of security program on your laptop is blocking the extraction process. If that is the case you should be able to find some error in the Windows event viewer through the control panel.

Are you trying to run this code from job or something? Check if account executing the package has access to the path. Also check if path value passed is correct. If its a remote system path pass it in UNC format (ie //machine/...)

  • Fail to open PDF file. Error for trying to paste in object.

So occasionaly, i will paste in a PDF into my InDesign document and this error will pop up, Fail to open PDF file.  It's not like im opening
the file im just trying to paste it in.  I try other pdf files and the same error comes up.  Usually this error does not happen when i am pasting in
PDF's into my document but when one error comes up, no PDF's will work.  I have to resave my file into another format and then it will work.
What is up with these errors that happen sometimes?

  • I am running InDesign CS5.5 and trying to open an In Design File but getting an error message. " Cannot open the file "PDavidLCover.indd". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file

I am running InDesign CS5.5 and trying to open an In Design File but getting an error message. " Cannot open the file "PDavidLCover.indd". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file me be open in another application."Please help I really need to get this file open.

Since you've shown us the folder contents it's a good bet it isn't in use (no lock file). And it doesn't look like the file is mis-named as there doesn't seem to be anything else there that would be the .indd file (but just in case, open it in TextEdit and paste the first few lines here so we can see what the file header says), so the most likely case is the file is damaged. Is that on a removable device of some sort?
You can try the tool at Repair corrupt InDesign Adobe files on Mac OS X  or send me a link to the file by private message and I'll try the recovery tool I have for Windows.

  • "Extraction Failed: Cannot Open Output File" error message when installing new drivers

Hello, I'm trying to install new drivers for my HP Photosmart C4385 Printer.  I downloaded the full feature drivers for Windows XP 32-bit, and when I start to install (extract), I get the error message:
    Extraction Failed
    Cannot Open Output File
And the process closes.  It happens at about 85% extraction every time.
Any idea why?  I called HP but since it is out of warranty they wanted money, which I think as absolutely ridiculous - won't even give me basic support??  Poor, poor customer service.
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

    Hi,
If you haven't still got the  Full Feature software installer, download it from the link below and save it to your Desktop.  If you already have it, place it on your Desktop.
    ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software10/COL20274/mp-53147-4/100_228_PS_AIO_02_Full_USW_enu_NB.exe
Make sure the Printer is disconnected from your PC.
Download and install 7-ZIP.  Once installed, right click on the software installer for your printer, select 7-Zip and choose extract files, then click Ok.
Open the newly extracted folder and double click the setup application to start the installation ( the setup application will probably have the same icon as the original software installer you downloaded ).  Connect the printer to your PC when the software asks.
    Hope this helps.
    Best wishes,

  • After Effects CS3 error: file not found -43 and TIFFIO failed to open the file

    Hello
I am experiencing a problem with AE CS3.
I have several TIFF sequences (with alphas) that are giving me a headache. When I import them into AE, I get an "AEGP Plugin TIFFIO: Failed to open the file" error.
I researched the forums and found that this could be related to odd formatting of the source media (my TIFF sequence). I created these TIFFs in Maya 2008 and I have imported other sequences made with Maya into AE with no issues.
Just to be sure, I created a Photoshop droplet that re-saved my TIFFs as Photoshop TIFFs with the same names.
I re-imported the new Photoshop TIFF sequences (still with alphas) into AE CS3, and I get the same error.
Any ideas? I don't know what to do next.
    Thanks,
    -------------S

Your USB drive may have had a weird character in it's name.
AE can't read CMYK images, that is usually the problem.
Imported images do not have to conform to any specific sizes (unless you want to go over 30,000 x 30,000 pixels.)

  • I am receiving error code 65543 while opening what...

    Hello there,
I am using nokia asha 501 with latest update from nokia i.e 14.0.4 as per received from nokia. then i have installed whatsapp and now when i try to open a picture then its showing me error code 65543 whit some java application error. can anyone tell me whats the solution.

    Hi 65543,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
Does the error only show up upon opening WhatsApp images? How about when using the other features of WhatsApp? Do you also get the same issue when using other downloaded or pre-installed apps? Since WhatsApp is internet-based, it'll be good to test if your internet connection works fine by browsing mobile websites and using other web-based apps. This is to verify if the issue is internet connection or app related. It would also be helpful if you can provide the complete error message as we're unable to find the possible cause of the error code online.
    We'll wait for your response.
