Encore CS5 Subpictures Not Showing Up

Hi!
So I have indeed looked through the forum and read several threads regarding this problem, yet can't find the solution for my own dilemma. Literally not one subpicture in any of my menus is showing up in Encore. Here's one example, with the layers twirled open so you can see that I'm doing the and (=1) thing correctly ( I think?).
General Facts For Nice Helpful People
I'm running CS5 across the board, Photoshop, Encore etc.
I'm trying to create a standard DVD, not Blu-Ray.
All my menus are .psd files with custom highlights, each of which I've kept to a single colour. None are animated. All are simple text outlines or a solid white dot appearing alongside text, except for one which is a mono-colour streak of paint tool underneath the letters.
All of my menu links fall within the Title Safe Area
The most I have on any menu is six, most are three or two.
It's all widescreen 16:9 ratio.
I must confess I'm not sure how to check the PAR of my project, so I'm not sure if it matches the PAR of my menus but I haven't intentionally twiddled that, as a result. The PAR for my menus is "Square", so maybe I need to switch it but I'm not sure which of my options would be the correct one.
Anyways, big thanks in advance to anyone who can help. I have to have this project sorted by Monday night at the latest...

Top left button shows the highlight, and the others are off, right?
Turning visibility "off" on the highlight layer in photoshop does nothing, because Encore does that automatically once you save (with highlight visibility "on") and come back to Encore. What you are seeing is that Encore shows you the default highlight as "selected" (that is what default does), and will change to show you highlights on other buttons as you move to them.
So it doesn't solve your problem, but nothing new is wrong.
A menu (psd) that is 720x480 with square pixels is wrong. Encore will do bad things to it.
Are you looking for widescreen or 4:3? Add a standard definition library menu to your project that matches the display ratio. For example, if you want widescreen, in the general group, add the menu "Radiant Menu Wide."
Link some of the buttons, and see what you have.
Select that menu and "edit in photoshop." You can cut and paste from your current menu (open a copy of it from windows explorer, not from Encore. It may work fine, but editing two menus from Encore at the same time is tempting fate.) You can copy and paste entire button groups. Or just create new.
Text may be fine. Graphics elements will be somewhat distorted.

Encore CS5 Buttons Not Showing Up?

I built a six chapter project in Encore CS5. On the main menu (there are no submenus), there are six buttons that are correctly linked to six different timelines. In the menu view, everything looks normal. However, when I click to Preview mode, I get the background image and the music to play, but not buttons appear. I am burning a copy now to see if it is just a Preview mistake, but I'm guessing my DVD will look the same. Any idea what causes this?

Persistence pays off: so initially, CS5 was not recognizing my Epson Perfection Photo V700. I reloaded the Epson software twice and using the mac menu for printers and scanners tried to get it to operate. no dice. Finally, on the third try, I went to Finder to look under applications software, found the epson software and clicked on that, and finally got the Epson scan window to open. So now, even tho i can't open it from inside CS5, i can still get the image into CS5 easily by clicking on "open" and going to finder. (Still good to know about Vuescan tho.)

Dreamweaver cs5 does not show part of the properties tools on the bottom of the page, i.e. on HTML : TITLE and TARGET and on CSS: BOLD, ITALIC and PARAGRAPHS sections.
I have DW CS5 and WIN 7 Home Premium 64 bit, I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times but no luck, I tried to clean through regedit still no show.
I have onother computer installed same DW CS5 works OK.
Is there any folders keeping the old DW CS5 files or how can I uninstall all the traces complete DW CS5.

Make sure your settings are set to 96 dpi, for the font.
desktop right click
personalize
change to default 96 dpi
you will be good to go

Adobe Illustrator CS5 does not show PDF thumbnails when browsing

When I am browsing through PDF files to open one of them in Adobe Illustrator CS5 it does not show the thumbnail. When I am browsing in Adobe Acrobat it does show the thumbnails. If I have Adobe Acrobat open and am browsing through files and the thumbnails are showing then if I open Adobe Illustrator and browse for a file the thumbnail does show up.
How can I get Illustrator to always show the PDF thumbnails. I have to frequently browse through thousands of PDF files and it is imperative that I can see the thumbnail for these PDF files. I primarily use Illustrator to edit PDF files.
The computer is Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit edition. Thumbnails barely work when browsing files through Explorer. Some thumbnails will show, but not very many of them and it is extremely slow to load the thumbnails that will display.

So I am assuming you are talking about viewing the files using this method first:
To use the 32-bit version of Windows Explorer, follow these steps:
Click Start, click Run, type the following in the Open box, and then click OK:
Drive_Letter:\windows\syswow64\explorer.exe /separate
Note The placeholder Drive_Letter represents the drive where the x64-based version of Windows is installed.

Photoshop CS5 edits not showing in Lightroom

Experiencing strange behavior and would appreciate any advice...
Am editing .CR2 files, then doing Edit in > Photoshop CS5 > Edit with Lightroom Adjustments and "Stack with Original". All goes fine until I save and the new image is now displayed in LR. If I want to do a subsequent edit to the now-stacked .psd file, using Edit in > Photoshop CS5 > Edit Original, then saving, those edits are not showing up in Lightroom. Strangest is that if I then do Edit in > Photoshop CS5 > Edit Original to the file again, my edits are there in Photoshop.
I think this is an issue with Lightroom updating / syncing its preview (I'm looking at these in both Grid and Loupe) so that I can't see the latest version of what I edited. Also, sometimes I can get it to update by changing zoom levels and having LR go back to re-recreate the preview (I assume). I have also seen this behavior (it's more obvious in this case) when doing B&W conversions and the preview keeps flipping back and forth from color to B&W.
I assume this is a bug, but is there any way to force the previews to update as a workaround? Don't really use the print module, but changes also appear to not be reflected in the Web module, so concerned about what my output will look like.

Well, just found one solution... Library > Previews > Discard 1:1 previews and then zooming in on each photo in the Library (Loupe) forced the update. This needs to get fixed!!

Subpicture not showing up

I'm testing my dvd and the subpicture layer attached to button menus are not showing up on some TVs/DVD players. The subpicture layer is a shadow highlight to indicate the button is selected. On my brothers (very old) big screen and (very old) dvd player the subpicture layer is not showing up. On my old tv and dvd player it is. On my new tv and dvd player it is showing up as well. I assume it is his TV or DVD player (I'll switch his dvd player out tonight with one of mine to test the problem). I'll be able to pinpoint the problem tonight, but I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. I am wondering what universal subpicture lays would work best.
I used Photoshop to make my own menus. I didn't forget to use the (=1) code for the subpicture layer. The subpicture was has hidden in photoshop as it should be. The subpicture is a drop shadow what will show up on a white background. The button group does have the (+) code. I don't think I did anything wrong.

If it works on some players but not on others, then there is no problem with the disc.
It almost has to be the player.
FWIW, I have seen this on some players too - although I am referring to Pioneer 565/578 players & home-written DVD-Audio discs. Same problem though - no SPHL displayed.

Adobe tv in help menu on cs5 does not show or play

I run illustrator help and it gives me a choice to watch a video on adobe TV. I choose the video and the page loads but the video does not. i tried the beta and got a play bar but again no video. Can you please help? i run win8

Encore CS5 audio not in sync

Hi,
I'm hoping someone can help me soon. I have multiple timelines that I created in Encore. I have noticed about 25% of them have their audio out of sync. There is nothing complicated with how I built the timelines. All I did was create a timeline and drop in the original video that came off the SD card. All the timelines have video from the same source. I did not even mess with the audio and I don't know if you can for that matter because I'm new with this program. Anyway, the original videos play just fine in the finder. I'm using an iMac with OS X 10.7
I've been trying to figure this out for hours and researching on Google to no avail. I'm so frustrated right now with Adobe products. Adobe staff, if you are reading this, I beg of you to please slow down. Quite trying to make more features. I bet I could safely say that 95% of your faithful users would rather have working software rather than more features. We waste so much time trying to resolve these "little" issues, because they put a halt to productivity. Time is money Adobe. This is so sad. As I'm writing this, I'm realizing that my begging or ******** will do absolutely nothing. I'd probably have better luck playing pick up sticks with my *** cheeks. You should study Luxology's way of handling customer support. Each and every email goes to the present and he replies back. They also make adjustments based off of what other customers are saying. I can't say one bad thing about their forums either. If I have issues, I don't get directed to anyone in India. I don't even have enough time to tell you how one of my last calls went with them. They are not experts. Not even close. I was pissed.

Thanks for getting back to me.
1. I looked at that program and it doesn't get good ratings. I found one other one that does get good ratings for the same price and from what I could tell, it does the same thing with different options. That being said, I don't know if all that collected data is really going to help out in this scenario. The video is an .AVI, 640x480, 1.0 ratio, at 30 fps. A lady took the video using her little pocket camera. I did right click on it and picked Interpret Footage but nothing seemed to happen. It is a very short clip, so maybe something happened but I didn't see it. And it didn't help anyway. Like I said, all the other ones are the exact same type of file and they work fine. I don't see any kind of warning to alert me as to what could be wrong. Taking a screen shot isn't going to do anything in this case either. Simply put, if the video is a minute long, the sound lasts half of that time. There is nothing that a screen shot will help explain. If I had a symbol or a weird glitch of some kind, I would record the video and post that.
EDIT: Okay this is weird. As I went to try that Transcode thing, which wasn't highlighted anyway (and all the timelines say "untranscoded"), I double clicked the timeline in question and went to the point where the sound was ending and now it plays fine. WTH? I hope when I finally get this DVD done, the audio is in sync. I've read a lot of forum posts where it's off AFTER they burn a disc. Damn Apple for ditching iDVD. Their stuff worked for me all the time. No problems. Arrrrg.
2. Thank you for the link to the huge list of tutorials. I am new and have watch videos from Lynda.com and YouTube.com, but unfortunately all these video are perfect world scenarios. That would be cool, if these videos had situations like mine, but they focus on how easily a person can get up and running with these programs, that I don't believe they want to show these situations as they might overwhelm the customer and then won't sell as many tutorials. But I do believe they should have a whole series on problems. Believe me there would be plenty to do just from Adobe's software.
3. Here's an extra question. I own the whole CS5.5 Master Suite. I've spent thousands of dollars over the years since 1996 on their software. Shouldn't there be the ability to check the Codec information like that $3 program you pointed me to?

Bridge CS5 gallery, placed in DW CS5 does not show when uploaded

My husband has a Halloween haunt. We are gearing up to promote this year's haunt (and our charity of choice this time), and I wanted to update the photos from last year. Admittedly, I am an experienced print designer, wanting to learn more about web design, so not a pro at this by any means.
I created 3 galleries via the automated Bridge CS5 export (saving each gallery to its own folder within the site folder), then placed each gallery's index file into an iframe div relevant to that year's photogallery (one web page for 2010, one for 2009, one for 2008) so I can keep the site's masthead and a link to go back to the main photos page. Everything works fine when I preview it (local) as well as test on browsers (local). However, when everything is uploaded to the hosting company server, there is a white box for each gallery. I am at a loss. Cannot figure this out, and we're almost into October!

I was never able to get it to work. Had all files from the root directory (all resources, images, css, etc) copied onto hosting company. Tried to alter the relative path (Kdn002), etc. Nothing worked other than local testing.
Finally downloaded jAlbum, used the same div and iFrame structure, and it worked! I may make some tweaks down the road, but it's working fine now.

Adobe Extension Manager CS5 is not showing Photoshop CS5 under products. I am using a mac trying to install a plug in for Kubota auto album.

I have a Mac, using chrome, and trying to install Kevin Kubota Auto album into Photoshop. Talked with Kevin Kubota support and they said they can't help me anymore because my Adobe Extension Manager was reinstalled and will not display Photoshop CS5 under products. Please help !!!!

1) Ensure that your code is valid (error free).
     Code Validation Tools
     CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
     HTML - http://validator.w3.org/
2) Check that all paths to images, external style sheets and scripts are correctly pointing to your site folder and not to a file:/// on your local hard drive.
3) If that doesn't help, upload your problem page to a remote server space and provide us with a link so we can see it in our browsers.

Preview and output in Encore cs5 quality, not close to preview in Premiere Pro CS5

I am working on a project and in Premiere Pro the preview looks fantastic. Sequence that I am dealing with is AVCHD 1080i. When I send the sequence to Encore via Dynamic Link, the preview is fuzzy, not sharp and out of focus. Not only is the preview quality poor in Encore but the output to DVD is just as bad. The footage is pristine in Premiere Pro. I don't get it and I am seriously frustrated. I have done other projects and never had this problem. I have also tried DV NTSC for the sequence setting and got the same results. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, it's true that AVCHD to DVD in Encore is not of very good quality but there is a workaround for that.
You can use "Maximum Render Quality" for transcoding the AVCHD file. The quality would be much better than earlier.
to do this :
Just Right click on the asset which is untranscoded and choose Transcode Setting (First option in the context menu)
In the dialog box that comes for Transcode settings, check the "Use Maximum Render Quality" check box and then transcode the file.
This should look good.

Photoshop CS5.5 not showing correct amount of RAM

I have a PC with 3.25 MB of memory. I recently purchased the Creative Suite CS5.5. I was modifying my Preference when I noticed on the Performance Tab, under Memory Usage, it says:
Available RAM 1569
Ideal Range: 863 - 1129
Let Photoshop Use: 941 MB
Anyone know why Photoshop is only seeing 1/2 of my memory?

Mylenium, you have a way with words. Guess you have the gift of encouragement. I did see the "Available Memory" but I read it as that's how much physical memory Photoshop was seeing on my computer, not the amount of memory that was unused at the moment.
I'm pretty sleep deprived as of late so I know my brain's "Available Memory" is running low and not running to it's fullest capacity.
