Encore DVD2 in Windows 7 64bit

Have been using Encore since version 1 for years. Just changed to Windows 7 64 bit. Encore DVD2 can be run as trial but can not be installed with my serial number because it needs an installed earlier version. It does not accept any of my version 1 and 1.5 discs and neither can I install any of the older versions.
I can run the trial both in Windows 7 environment and in virtual XP mode.
How do I get my Encore DVD 2 to accept the fact that I have two earlier versions which are both accepted for upgrade?
The Swedish Adobe support does not have any idea.

The problem is, however, that the procedure in item 3 might work in most cases but not in that of Encore DVD 2. However it works in Encore DVD 1.5.
In my 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate I managed to install Encore 1.5 and it asked for the earlier version CD and after switching to that CD Encore DVD 1.5 was installed correctly in Virtual XP mode. After that I had to uninstall the Encore DVD 2 trial before I could install it correctly. After installing I checked that it worked and after that I uninstalled version 1.5.
Now Encore DVD 2 is installed in Virtual XP mode and works but it does seem a bit slower than in old XP professional.
Originally I had problems finding the CD from XP mode but now that seems to be OK. One thing though - the installation does not start automatically and you have to find the setup file on the installation disk.

I cannot repair the apple software update as it cannot install from the error mentioned above. Looking through the logs, it shows error : 1721, problem with windows installer package.Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try?

Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

There is a known issue with Dbcontrol when try accessing the URL via Internet Explorer
Can you check by accessing the Dbcontrol URL via a different browser like Firefox or Chrome

Log in to Enterprise Manager Console using Internet Explorer 7 and higher fails with "Internet Explorer cannot display this page" or with Security Certificate Error (Doc ID 1498203.1)
If still an issue then check the status of Dbcontrol to ensure its working fine

Thank you for you answer, but it isn't heart of the problem. The problem is that I don't have choose iTunes version manually, it's happens automatically, and start downloading iTunes for Windows 32-bit.

I definitely recommend 64bit Windows, the principal reason is memory addressing limitation.
In my standpoint do not exist benefits to use Windows 32bit with Oracle Clusterware/RAC.
32-bit processors have address registers that are 32-bits wide (can address up to 4GB physical RAM).
You can to use a workaround by enabling the addressing of more than 4GBytes using parameters in Windows (AWE/PAE). But if I want to use more than 4Gbytes, I'll go to Windows 64bit.
The 4GB addressable space per process is divided into system and user space. By default, the system space is 2GB and the private user space is 2GB. Each user process shares the same 2GB System address space.
The services of the Clusterware, ASM and Listener will consume at least 1Gbyte of memory initially.
If you create an instance to to use 1Gbytes and you have 50 connections you will have problems with connections to the database raising the following error.
TNS-00510: Internal limit restriction exceeded
32-bit Windows Error: 8: Exec format error
TNS-00507: Connection closed
32-bit Windows Error: 109: Unknown errorReason: Problems of memory usage. i.e. Out of Memory.
Another point:
With Windows 32-bit using Clusterware/RAC 11.1 you can set Automatic Memory Management(AMM) feature (MEMORY_TARGET) but you cannot use if you create 2 Instances on same Host.

I belive that is reason wich Oracle not support Oracle Grid Infrastructure 11.2 on Windows 32-bit. You cannot use ASM 11.2 on Windows 32-bit.
Definitely do not exist reason for me to to use Windows 32bit to support Oracle Clusterware.
There are lot services involved wich require memory and a big limitation of memory on 32-bit.
At present all latest CPUs support 64bit. Then install Oracle Clusterware/RAC x64, even when you are use less than 4GBytes memory, you only have benefits.
Benefits of Use 64-bit are:
64-bit versions of Windows have implemented up to 16 terabytes of virtual address space
64-bit programs use the 16 terabyte tuning model (8TB user / 8TB kernel)
No performance penalties for large memory
Unlimited user connectivity
64-bit Windows versions allow addressing of large physical memory sizes without using PAE

ENCORE DVD2.0 can't decode MP3 file?

It is probably my fault although I do not know what I did wrong: I have been importing assets, including MP3 files, into Encore DVD2.0 for a 'long' time without any problem. I 'truncated' and faded in/out one MP3 in PrE7 and exported it to a folder from where I tried to import it back to Encore. Encore gave the following error message: "The software that's used to decode the media is not available on this system. Installing the correct decoders for the files you are working with may help to correct the problem". The "non-truncated" version of this MP3 file can still be imported into Encore. Thanks, Laci.

This question might not belong here but it is also about audio, however audio in WMP v.12.0.7600.16667 (and also in VLC v.1.1.4). They do not play the audio in the 0000.m2ts video clip that I extracted from the Blu-ray disk that I burned from an AVCHD video with PrE 7. (I had to extract this file because just placing the BD disk in the LG BD player in my computer didn't work. (The BD disk plays both video and audio flawlessly on the standalone Panasonic Blu-ray player.) Also other video clips (e.g. MOV files) work fine on with both WMP and VLC. I downloaded the AC3 Codecs but it didn't help either. I would appreciate any help. Thanks, Laci. (BTW, my new editing computer is working but still experimenting with software. Update Encore CS6 in windows 7

New in that forum and I'm a new user of Encore.
I have a permanent licence for Encore CS6 for Windows 7. If I want to update Encore, I see that there are 2 new updates in that site, but there are TRIAL update.
Is it good to install in my permanent license for Encore ?? The update still work in 1 year ??

Then click either of the two updates that show for CS6
Each update has trial as part of the file name... most odd

The GUI of the Windows 64bit version of Minefield (4.2a1pre, 4.0b13pre and earlier) is somehow corrupted. The tabs and the address bar contain vertical left-out spaces as well as other parts. The browser itself works pretty good.

Yes. The GUI irritations have gone after applying the recent update 4.2a1pre (2001-04-12). Many thanks to the community!
PS: after applying the update of 2011-04-14 the version number has changed from 4.2a1pre to 6.0a1. What does this mean exactly? Won't there be a released Firefox 4-x64 version anymore but instead this is already an alpha for a future release?

Not only on Windows: 64bit software requires 64bit OS, but 64bit OS does NOT require 64bit software. So you don't need to install 10g 64bit on windows 64bit, but you cannot install 10g 64bit on windows 32bit.

ODBC Driver at Windows 64bit 2003

Dear All,
I tried to install the Oracle ODBC driver for the windows 64bit 2003 but the driver did not added to the ODBC drivers list in the "Data Sources (ODBC)" at the Administrative tools in the control panel.
This is a big problem for me because I need to add Oracle database at the SQL server as a Linked Server and the SQL server need the OLE DB Provider which comes with the ODBC driver
Please provide me with ODBC driver or direct me to the right direction
