Encore is giving me two codes and I have a project due!  Help!

OK, here is a little back ground to my problem:
I started to burn a project for a client the other day and ran into some problems.  I burned 50 Verbatim discs and only 3 worked.  I thought that it was a faulty DVD spindle, so I bought another 50 pack and the first one off the top didn't work. 
My next thought was the burner.  I was using a external HP burner that was about 3 years old.  I borrowed a friends external burner that he had just gotten(never burnt a DVD before and only 3 CDs).  When I tried his burner, I was able to burn 4 copies sucesfully.  So, I returned his burner and ordered a Asus burner. 
When I plugged the new Asus burner in, it installed fine and Encore was able to recognize it.  When I burnt the first DVD, I used a Memorex RW to test it out.  It worked great!  So then I proceded to use my Verbatim -R discs.  However, the first one that I tried, it gave me a error message of 40801.  I tried 5 Verbatim discs and it would keep giving me either the 40801 code or a new code of 23A02.  My next thought was maybe the USB port went bad, so I tried a new USB port.  The first Memorex RW I tried burnt correctly, but then the next Memorex RW came up with a code.  I then tried a Memorex -R and a Verbatim -R but still, it gives me one of the two codes.
I don't know what is going on.  Why will Encore burn a DVD one second and then give me a error code on the next?
I am at my ropes end, and am hoping that someone here can give me some help.
Here is some stats of what I am using:
Adobe Production Premuim Suite CS5.5
Asus Burner
Windows 7
I would like to add, since I understand that Adobe looks at these posts, that I have tried to contact customer support and never got anyone.  I was on hold for a total of 4 hours.  I am not trying to make a big problem about it, but I do think that that isn't very good customer service.

Did you use the link I posted?
The main Imgburn page can be confusing, and people have reported that some of the 'advertising support' links are not really very friendly
I use Imgburn for ALL of my burning needs... ISO created by Encore, and general file/folder burning for backups
I have never had a problem with Imgburn... and many other people in this forum also use it with zero problems
If you don't want to use Imgburn, create a DVD folder on your hard drive instead of an ISO and use (I think it has one, but not really sure) the Windows burning process
