Encore is not encoding

I have set up a DVD men in Encore, added the assets and created buttons etc. Then I've checked the project before build and no errors come up. when I try to build the DVD a message comes up encode failed.
I cannot find any reason why this should happen.
Any suggestions?

One issue is long filenames (for your assets) or use of special characters in filenames.

Encore not encoding this time.

Help! Last time that Encore failed to encode was because I had a couple of clips that needed to be attached. Encore has still failed three times after I double checked my clips. Then I went to export in through media and that didn't work. My project is 1 hr and 18 minutes in lenghth. I have plenty of space left in my hard drive it I wanted to do a new project. What else can I share to help me find out why encore is failing?

Have not had a chance to go back to my project yet, but thought I could write a couple of answers to your suggestions. 1. Am I previewing my project in Encore? What should I be looking for when I preview my project?
The only thing I've taught myself about Encore is how to get there through Dynalinc. Not quite sure how to navigate inside Encore. I have the book on Encore but there is soo much in it that I am not using. I just use Encore to create my DVD's.
If I find the Media Cache "delete" option, I will not touch it.
The message after waiting 3 hours to build a DVD (from a hour's project) is "Encoding has failed" it pops up in a box.
I did send a short asset to Encore, and I still got the "Encoding has failed" message.
Encore was part of my package of my CS4.
I do not know how to set AME to transcode. I use "build" to create my DVD - Can you give me directions on how to transcode.
How do I delete all the medic cache files? What is the route?

Encore won't encode some PSD files in Flash

I have succesfully completed a DVD project on Encore (4.0) with mpg elements edited in Premier Pro (4.0). A number of slide sequences constructed from jpgs converted
to pds files in Photoshop (cs5) have been used, plus some (individual, single) text slides, (constructed in Photoshop) have also been included with the DVD project. All of this works
fine. However, when I render the whole project for Flash, the text files are not included! During the render process the file details are displayed but no yellow progress bar appears.
The Flash file is prefereable to the DVD as this enables the Flash file to be available from a central common drive or server.
Can anyone assist me with this? I can find nor reference to these types of issues iether on the forum or anywhere on the net.

when imported into Encore looked “poor” as an mpg. However I had not rendered the project in Flash at that stage. Will
have to look at how Premier works direct to Flash without Encore?

Encore Will not open with Quicktime 7.75.80.95 update

Encore will not open after I installed Quicktime v. 7.75.80.95. After I uninstall QuickTime Encore works, but other programs still need Qt to be able to run properly. What gives?

I don't recall seeing any other report of this. The usual solution for QT update issues is to roll back.

Recipients are not encoded correctly

Hi!
When I set the recipients of a new e-mail with
message.setRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO, "Stephan Windmüller <[email protected]>");the name is not encoded correctly. The same applies for setFrom, but not to setSubject. According to MimeUtility, manual encoding should not be necessary when using setRecipients.
However, when I am trying to encode the address with MimeUtility.encodeText it also looks garbled. What am I doing wrong?

IDVD not encoding my movie help!?

I want to make a DVD with iDVD but my .mp4 movie is too large. The notice says that "Your project exceeds the maximum content duration. To burn your DVD, change the encoder setting in the Project Info window." so i changed to encoder setting from "Best performance" to "High quality" but then this screen comes up.

Notice how it does not encode and im left with a gray shade?
I tried to burn it, but it says "There was an error during the encoding process"

It says for High Quality and Professional Quality the video won't encode until you burn the DVD. It takes longer, but allows for the larger files. Good luck!

Encore CS6 not possible to avoid transcoding

Why does encore CS6 transcode some H.264 streams and some not? They are different sequences exported from the same project with the same settings out of premiere CS6. The parameters of all streams equal the settings in encore. But for some it is not possible to change the setting in encore to not transcode.

Yes, I used H.264 Bluray 1440x1080 anamorph. I guess Encore ignored the anamorph flag for some files and transcoded them a second time to 1440x1080 - the result is a visible frame with a distorted 4:3 aspect ratio. I have found a resolution. I replaced the transcoded files in the encore transcode folder with copies of the original files and renamed them like the transcoded files: "original filename"_sessionFiles_Asf_session_1_video.m4v
Perhaps its possible to avoid transcoding by simply placing renamed copies (in that name system above) of the original files in the transcode folder. I will try it in the future.

IDVD will not encode audio

Hi,
Just as the topic says, iDVD will not encode the audio......well whats happening is that it says its in the process of encoding....the bar turns grey, and has the loading color wheel thing and thats basically whats happening. Its been doing this for the past hour. I have lots of ram and memory so i dont think thats a problem.....any solutions??

iDVD is probably not 'hanging'. Disregard any messages that iDVD is not responding. It is. Do not force quit.
Encoding audio is the slowest part of rendering, and can take many hours. Great patience, even an intermittent alternative hobby, is called for.
Make sure no other application is running, make sure you have not set the hard disk to go to sleep and that the screen saver will not come on. Leave it overnight, or have a 36 hole game of golf.
Sooner or later iDVD will finish!

'Do not encode special characters' preference not working

I have the preferences in Dreamweaver set to "Do not encode
special characters in url'. However, every time I paste a url in
the properties box, when I go to the source code, Dreamweaver has
encoded the special characters, especially the "&". Is there
another setting I have to change somewhere, or is there an update
that fixes this?

Encore CS4 not compatible with Windows 7 [32] ?!

just reinstalled Windows 7 [32 - ultimate] and Adobe CS4 Master Collection and I get this error message each time I try to start Encore: "Encore is not compatible with this version of Windows" I had it installed before, worked perfect, till now. when I force it to start it goes only till Import as asset, then it freezes, shows a blue screen, then the computer restarts. any suggestions?

As you mentioned that you are using Encore CS4 on win 7. There was an issue with Encore CS4 being used on win 7.
There might be the case that the pxhelp is not compatible with win 7 (64 bit)
Install latest pxhelp from -

Encore CS6 not loading under windows 8

I have purchased a new computer running windows 8. Everything runs fine in Creative Suite CS6, except that Encore will not load. Any thoughts?

Encore CS6 does not start / freezes - Message: Encore does not work anymore (Win 8.1)

Encore CS6 does not work. When I launch the Programm a message appears "Encore does not work anymore" and I can only choose close or debug.
How can I solve this error?
By the way it is really early to stop the development of an DVD authoring software!

Did EncoreCS6 work at one time, or is this a new install and it has never worked? If it worked before... what changed?
With Windows, an update will OFTEN/SOMETIMES cause a problem with the graphics adapter driver
What is your exact brand/model graphics adapter (ATI or nVidia or ???)
What is your exact graphics adapter driver version?
Have you gone to the vendor web site to check for a newer driver?
For Windows, do NOT rely on Windows Update to have current driver information
-you need to go direct to the vendor web site and check updates for yourself

Encore CS4 not comaptible with Windows 7?

I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate (which I'll probably regret later) and put my CS4 Master Collection 30 day trial on it.
Encore launches and I get the "This program has known compatibility issues" B.S. from Windows. The program will still run if I tell Windows to run it, but it's awful frustrating that Everytime Windows makes a new OS or SP release, suddenly everything but Office, Internet Explorer, and Windows Media Player is incompatible.
Anyone else seen this error, or is everyone still using Vista or XP?

UPDATE: The Roxio fix seems to also fix the 64-bit OS. I'm not running any Roxio software but this patch seems to do the trick

A few points about comments in this thread:
Unfortunately Windows DVD Maker does not support Blue Ray. I just built a new machine specifically for burning HD video. Now I have no way to create the disc.
Unplugging the Blue Ray drive allows Encore to load the HD assets, but when you plug it back in Encore hangs on the splash screen saying it is transcoding.
I have two RAID controllers on my MB. I am running Intel 8.9 and JMicron JMB36X. I tried plugging the optical drive into both controllers and Encore fails with both.
I have a feeling Encore is not playing by WIN 7's rules, (undocumented/unsupported call?) which is why it hangs on the sys info screen.
BTW This was a fresh install on a new machine I built this week:

Encore CS4 not responding on start-up

I was just working on a series of DVDs for a client (needed multiple DVDs for menu screens for restaurant client) I've burned these before, everything worked great and just as I'm on deadline (always happens this way Adobe and we don't get to bill for asprin fees) I'm needing to burn another copy of a Encore file that was previously made and now Encore is not responding at startup.
What's the fix???? Is there some key-stroke command that can clear the settings or some DLL file that needs to be removed to get Encore to startup again?
If I need to rebuild my project that's not a big deal, that will take 10 mins. but to deal with this hanging issue's a pain in the butt you guys!
Some more info; the hang seems to be at the 'Transcoding' loadup. That's where it just stops starting. It started fine multiple times prior this startup... so I'm thinking of a couple things that was/is different during this last starup; a) I had iTunes open, because my iPhone was on cradle... b) I had closed a previous Encore project and switched to another project file. (while iTunes was open).
This is the only difference between yesterday and today...I'm thinking there's some DLL or something within the startup string in Encore that's now corrupted. Anyone know what needs to be removed (which DLL I guess) in order to have Encore startup clean again.

Media Encoder will not Encode MPEG but creates XMP file

When I place an MPEG video file in my adobe media createor folder it automatically creates the same file name with an XMP extension with approx 4kb of data. However it will not encode the file and it will not show up in the Queue. Anyone know why?
Trying to convert to FLV - Web 512x288
Also is there a way to automatically remove the item from the queue once it has encoded. Our media encoder queue gets full of converted videos and then crashes.

When i try to add the file manually it says error decompressing. Is this just a corrupt file? Seems to be happening a lot.
