Encryption between ichat versions

Hi, excuse any mistakes, I am new to the forum business. Can anyone tell me if you can do an encrypted videoconference between macs using ichat 3(OS 10.4.5) and a ibook using ichat 2,1 (OS 10.3.9). I am able to videoconference ok but don't know if it is encrypted since the older version of ichat doesn't have the encryption setting.

Fatal error C1900: Il mismatch between 'P1' version '20080116' and 'P2' version '20070207'

Hi all,
I have a Team Foundation Build Agent that has Visual Studio Team System 2008 Test Edition installed. One of the solutions that I compile with that Build Agent gives me the following errors:
VCBUILD : fatal error C1047: The object or library file '.\bin\Release\main.obj' was created with an older compiler than other objects; rebuild old objects and libraries
LINK : fatal error LNK1257: code generation failed
VCBUILD : fatal error C1900: Il mismatch between 'P1' version '20080116' and 'P2' version '20070207'
LINK : fatal error LNK1257: code generation failed
I've searched online and found that other people have experienced the same problem:

In the second posting one states "I had the same Error! After installing Service Pack1 for VS2008 it worked!". Thats great for him but I don't see any such update for the Test Edition of Visual Studio Team System 2008 - Test Edition.

I once handled a similar case in newsgroups. That case exhibit a almost same symptom. Please check out my summary below:
Problem
In that case, the customer has a DLL project that you had built on a machine where VS 2008 SP1 was installed. You then attempted to rebuild that project on a machine without SP1, and got a fatal compiler error C1900 “IL mismatch between ‘P1’ version ‘20080116’ and ‘P2’ version ‘20070207’”, and then LNK1257 “Code generation failed”. He found that rebuilding your static library alleviated the errors, but cannot accept this as a workaround because your clients will not have the ability to rebuild the libraries you distribute before they use them.
Cause
You had built the static library with the /GL (Whole Program Optimization) compiler switch, which requires Link Time Code Generation (/LTCG) when the static library is subsequently linked. These features require that all linked modules be built by the same version of the compiler. In fact, if precompiled headers are used, the same machine must build and link all the involved object code. Therefore, it is highly recommended that static libraries not be built with the /GL switch, since their intended use is quite frequently to support reuse by others.
Solution
You rebuilt the static library on your VS2008 SP1 machine without the /GL switch, and you no longer encounter this problem.

Is it possible to perform network data encryption between Oracle 11g databases without the advance security option?
We are not licensed for the Oracle Advanced Security Option and I have been tasked to use Oracle Network Data Encryption in order to encryption network traffic between Oracle instances that reside on remote servers. From what I have read and my prior understanding this is not possible without ASO. Can someone confirm or disprove my research, thanks.

As for Network Encryption - Oracle FAQ (of course this is not Oracle official) "Since June 2013, Net Encryption is now licensed with Oracle Enterprise Edition and doesn't require Oracle Advanced Security Option." Could you clarify this? Thanks.

Differences between Automator versions

Hello All,
It looks like they made some changes between Automator version 2.1.1 (os x 10.6.8) and version 2.2 (OS X 10.7).
I'm trying to do a simple SMB mount of some network drive shares.
Steps followed are the same with both versions.
On the 10.7 computer when I reopen the workflow it is blank, none of the steps I've added showup. If I close Automator down and right click on the workflow file and use the Automator Runner application it follows all the steps that I layed out (drive shares map correctly).
In 10.6.8, if I create the same exact workflow, save it, close down, reopen the workflow all the step show up correctly and again map correctly when run.
How in 10.7 Automator do I view the steps that I've entered?

My automater workflow consists of "get specified Finder items" where I have to open the time capsule, then open the external drive to finally see the sparse image which I can then add and place in the item list. THen I add "open finder items" to open the sparse image. I have tried "reveal finder items" but that makes no difference.
I'm not sure how to mount the time capsule on the desktop. Do I just drag it there? It is listed on the left side of the Finder window under SHARED.
Here is a screen shot of what it looks like when I double click it. There you can see my time capsule (data) and the 3 external usb drives attached to my time capsule. By the way, I have the same problem if I attach just the mbp superduper backup to the TC directly.
In Automator I have to open the mbp superduper backup to get the ADD button functioning where I can select the actual sparse image file.
Even though I didn't copy the TC to the desktop,when I added the Connect to Server step I got an error message:
"there was a problem connecting to the server.
URLs with the type "file" are not supported"

How to compare between two versions of template project???

Dear All,
We are doing some cleanup activity in our solution manager system. For this actually we have created the replica of this project from production system to a sandbox system. We can do the cleanup of this project and can transport this new project to our production system and can move on.
But the pbm we are facing now is, how do we bring in the data captured or added to the production system after we have copied it to the sandbox system?
Can anybody throw in some light into this issue?
We tried the option of creating different version for the template and using the sa_project_upgrade transaction to compare between two versions of the template using "Current Version in Project" option. Not sure whether this will work out.
{{We thought that if we try in this way, we can find the difference between the two versions of the template project, and from there, might be we can bring in the new changes into our new project manually. We do agree that this is not the right approach.}}
But the end result we got was like we got the information regarding where all there is the difference between the current version in the template project to that of the original(in our case it checked against BPR as we selected the scenarios from BPR for this template). But what we expected was a difference between two versions of the template.
Pls help. Pls make a try to help. Any thoughts in this direction will help us to move forward.

I too had that doubt that my appraoch will not work. But wanted to get confirmation that it will not work. Also wanted to know about any other approach. Thank you for providing me with some alternative approach.
I tried the option suggested by you. But while running the comparison report for the newly copied project with the option "New Version of Original", I am getting the below error. I do agree that this approach should work. But for some reason I am getting the below error. Can you pls look into the same and help me out.

IChat Version 4.0.6 (613)

Apparently there is an iChat Version 4.0.6 (613) included in a Combo Update. When setting up a Mac Computer for the first time you seem to get Version 4.0.6 (613) which is not compatible in regards to Screen Sharing with Version 4.0.5 (608). Is that a mistake? Someone should check the latest Combo Updates to see if the right iChat Version is included. Or is there any way for me to upgrade to Version 4.0.6 (613) as well? When will it be officially released?

At least now I know I'm not the only person who's dealing with this. I convinced my unlce to buy a MacBook instead of a going with Vista. I told him I'd be ablt to help him through Screen Sharing anytime since it's his first Mac so I could explain everything and help if needed. When he first went online in iChat without having installed any of the updates Screen Sharing works great! But after updating he's stuck with Version 4.0.6
He lives in Germany btw and I am in California.
So I'd really appreciate it if anyone knows and is willing to tell me how to whether downgrade his iChat somehow or upgrade to this unknown 4.0.6 Version.
I talked to Apple on the phone they say 4.0.5 is the latest Version.
They also told me to try downgrading by using the Install Disc. Go to Optional Installs Folder and in the Install Menu only click iChat. It didn't work for my uncle though. He still has 4.0.6.
The only thing I can think of now is... to backup all my data on my external HD and start from the beginning even not using Time Machine. And hopefully then get 4.0.6 through this new Combo Update.
This will mean a lot of work and time wasted and I don't even know if it will work or even if I get 4.0.6 if Screen Sharing will work since it seems not to be an offically approved Version from Apple but more like a mistake someone made!!

Sharing photos between networked versions of Elements

Has anyone shared photos between different versions of Elements? Specifically, I have Elements version 3 on a XP system. Now I would like to add a new Windows 7_64bit system and run the latest version of Elements on it. As I will be keeping both systems (networked), I would like both users to be able to use a shared folder of family photos.
1) Can multiple versions of Elements share a common/networked watched folder? (Not simultaneously)
2) If shared in this manner, are there any issues to address?
3) If not different versions, can the same versions share networked folders?

You can certainly have the same photos referenced by different PSE catalogs ( with the same or different versions of PSE, running on the same or different computers). Remember that a catalog just contains links to the photos.
There are a few gotchas to think about: If you change the tags of a photo in one catalog, the other catalog won't pick up the change unless you delete and reimport the photo. If you change other fields, such as date/time, star rating, captions, notes, or GPS/map location, or if you edit the photo itself, then you can force the other catalog to pick up the change by selecting the photo(s) and doing Edit > Update Thumbnail. (This works for PSE 6 and later; don't know about PSE 3.) And if you delete a photo from your disk in one catalog, it will become disconnected ("missing") in the other catalog, and you'll have to do File > Reconnect to find such missing photos.

Another question just occurred to me.... The installation guide says the system requirement is Windows XP SP2 (or higher). Does anyone have experience using the Trial with Windows 2008 (32bit)?
