Encryption the local disk

I am trying to enable the Safe Harbor feature on the encryption, it is supposed to create a encpryted folder at the root of the fixed disk(non system volume).
I have 1 142 gig partition that houses the windows directory. Is this considered the system volume, thus won't create a encrypted folder on c: on this partition, and if so, am I going to have to repartition the hard drives to allow for the encrypted files.

A newer product build with an improved encryption driver should be out soon addressing this shortcoming. Stay tuned for ZESM 3.5 IR6.

Hi Montanadm,
After testing this on my own test machines i can only say that indeed
it "only" creates the folder on the d:\ drive.
Is there a way around this already?

Safe harbor encryption will be available on the c:\ (system volume) with ZESM IR6. Keep an eye out for it as it should be available for download this week.

  • "file not on the local disk" warning when it absolutely is

    Using DreamweaverCC2014 for the first time. Working on an older MacPro running Yosemite.
    I define a new site, specifying the directory in which my site's files are stored. The site has a single page, called index.htm, in the root directory, which has a link to a CSS stylesheet named "main.css" in a directory called "_css." The CSS file is contained within the directory, and appears in the Files tab of Dreamweaver as expected. The link to the stylesheet is properly formed on the index.htm page.
    At the top left of the workspace, I see two buttons: one for "Source Code," which, when selected, displays the source code for the page I am working on. Next to it is a button that says "main.css," which SHOULD allow me to open up the CSS page and edit it. However, when I click this button, I get a caution icon, along with the message that says:
    "'main.css' is not on the local disk."
    Next to this is a link that says "Get," which I would assume, when clicked, would allow me to find and relink the stylesheet. However, such is not the case. Instead, I get an alert window that says:
    "'main.css is not in a defined site"
    When I look at the page in Live View, the styled sheet is not shown, rather just the unstyled sheet. Looking at it in a browser, however, does.
    The code is correct; I have checked an re-checked it. The files are all in place and show up as expected in the Files panel. Any thoughts on why Dreamweaver thinks this CSS file doesn't exist?

    As this issue was diminishing my confidence in using the software for a mission-critical project, I contacted Adobe technical support for assistance.
    This is a known issue.
    The problem has to do with DW getting "confused" if there is any other file in the site root disk that may have the same name. In my case, there was (I tend to name the CSS files for my sites with the terribly generic "main" designation). The rep suggested that I create an entirely new site root, put my file structure into that, and see if the problem resolves. I did two things:
    First, I installed a completely new installation of DWCC2014 on my MacPro laptop. No existing site files of any kind on that machine. I then created a new site, using a copy of my original troublesome site's file structure. So, with the exception of the fact that this is on a machine that has no other sites or files, I am repeating the test using the exact same files and folder structure. When I click the Source Code button, I see the HTML source code. And when I click the CSS button...the CSS file displays as expected!
    Next experiment...back to my desktop MacPro. I copy the files for the site onto a completely different hard drive from the one I was using in my earlier failed attempt to get this to work. Again, same files and structure, only difference is the physical location of the files on a different hard drive. HTML source code displays, and, when the CSS button is clicked, the CSS page also displays as expected. Problem solved!
    So, I hope that my experience (and the solution) is helpful in the event others encounter this same issue. Again, this is a known issue at Adobe, so chances are good one of you out there will have this problem. The solution is to place your files in a completely new site root apart from any other that might have similar file names, so as not to "confuse" DW.

  • How can I get a local path of the local disk with swf

    Since FileReference.download() doesn't download multiple
    files, I want to download files with php ftp_get by FTP.
    I need to pass the local path of the local disk where I can
    download the files from a remote serveur. How can I get a prompt to
    have a user choose a folder on his computor (local disk), if any
    way possible?

    OK, at least 3 is working.
    I don't know how you have a Tape Recorder icon on your Home Screen. I cannot add one myself. But, I am running Holo Launcher in replacement of the default LG "Optimus" User Interface. It's much better in my opinion.
    Try long pressing the icon and select Edit and maybe you can change some attribute of the icon.
    Another thing you could do, is long-press an empty area of your desktop, to add an icon. Select Shortcut, then Select Contact, and scroll through your contact list and choose the contact that you added for *86.
    You realize if you have voice mail you haven't heard, there is a tape recorder icon in the notification bar, which you touch and pull down, then press it to dial voicemail.
    If that functionality doesn't work, you MIGHT want to consider doing a factory data reset on your device, but that is going to nuke all your personalizations and cause you work to set up again.

  • Redo log groups/files on the local disk for RAC DB

    Whether is it possible/supported to place redo log files/groups on the local disk for a RAC databases ?
    Thank you,

    Hi Mufalani,
    are you sure about this one? I'd think that this only works as long as the nodes don't restart/crash. I can imagine this like this:
    The nodes store redo logs on local disks which are NFS-exported to the other node. Everything should be fine. But when one node crashes/reboots, the other one has to perform crash recovery for the crashed instance but this won't work when the NFS mount (with redo logs) is unaccessible. So I would not want to do this.

    Hello Kaj_R.
    If you change the volumes it is quite likely that the recovery partition will not function.  I suggest you create a set of Recovery Media before messing with the partitions.
    This document can help you create the recovery media.

    hai forum,
    will any one tell me how should i extract jar files into a location in my project folder and then how to import the class files for further usage?
    Thank you .

    I will be graeateful if u could explain this a bit.
    Do you want to say that i should craete instance of
    ZipEntry like this
    InputStream is =
    jarFile.getInputStream(entry);
    File inputFile = new
    File("C:\\myclasses.data");
    FileInputStream fis=
    new FileInputStream(inputFile);No! You need to write the entry using FileOutputStream copying all the bytes of the ZipEntry InputStream to the FileOutputStream.
    >
    What about adding into a directory?Do i have to
    create on dynamically?Yes! You can use File.mkdirs(). For example
                        File ofile = new File("your directory where you will place the zip entries" + zipEntry.getName());
                        ofile.getParentFile().mkdirs();

    I cannot believe this "no .css file found" stuff !!!!!!
    I go to do my normal work and I CANNOT EVEN MODIFY THE FLIPPING CSS FILE!
    All the files are NOT "C://..." they are exactly in the directory they have ALWAYS been. Now... Dreamweaver CC doesn't see it?????? come on. I'm stuck on my production work. I've searched boards online and NO ONE can answer this. Is there anyone with the understanding and knowledge of what I'm supposed to do here?
    I'm flipping stuck here!!!

    No different than when on CS6. I exported from there and imported the ste info.
    I also did what you said and created from scratch a new site and manually input the info.
    absolutely FLIPPING nothing. How stupid. and a waste of my production time. I do not understand WAHT THE ISSUE is. it opens fine in CS6 and I can click on the css file and edit and save. I can't do this in the "new" cc 2014??????

    zzsara wrote:
    I want to open a new browser window and display the html file in local drive. ...Did you ever pause to consider how ridiculous that is?
    The best audience for applets is people off the internet. 'People off the internet' might be using a computer that has no (what was it?) 'open.html' in the root of the C: drive. In fact (shock horror) they may not even be running Windows, and would therefore probably have no 'C:' drive at all.
    If you do not intend to distribute this to people off the web, an application makes a lot more sense, but even then, you cannot rely on the document being there unless you 'put it there' (during installation, for instance).
    As the other poster intimated, applets can load documents off the local disk as long as they are trusted. Here is an example*, but note that it is not so rash as to presume any particular path or file, and instead leaves it to the user to choose the document to display.
    * The short code can be seen at SDNShare on the [Defensive Loading of Trusted Applets|http://sdnshare.sun.com/view.jsp?id=2315] post.
    On the other hand, a sandboxed applet can load any document coming from its own server via URL, or get showDocument(URL) to work. In that case, the JRE must recognize that the URL is from its own server, so the best way to form URLs for applet use is via the URL constructor
    new URL(getDocumentBase(), "path/to/open.html");That is how I form the URL in this [ sandboxed example of formatting source|http://pscode.org/fmt/sbx.html?url=/jh%2FHelpSetter.java&col=2&fnt=2&tab=2&ln=0]. Of course, in this case the applet loads the document, then parses the text to draw the formatted version, but the point is that an URL produced this way will work with showDocument(URL).
    I am pretty sure showDocument() in an applet off the internet will work with an URL pointing to a foreign (not its own) server, but it will not be able to load documents off the end user's local disks.
    I suggest a couple of things.
    - Try to express this problem in terms of what feature it is that you want to offer the end user. Your question jumps directly to a bad strategy for achieving ..who knows what? An example of a feature is "Shows the applet 'help' files on pressing F1".
    - A good way to indicate interest in a solution is to offer [Duke stars|http://wikis.sun.com/display/SunForums/Duke+Stars+Program+Overview] to match that interest.
    Edit 1:
    ..and please figure out how to use the CODE tags.

  • Saving a file from a website to the local drive

    From New To Java thread - nobody knew the answer, i guess! :(
    Hi people,
    I have a number of URLs at hand that point to certain class files, e.g.
    http://www.mywebsite.com/classes/MyClass.class
    What i would like to do is to download MyClass.class into a temporary folder (or wherever) on the local disk. Does anyone know how to do this? I've read about HttpURLConnection etc., but its all very confusing!
    Cheers,
    JG

    u can do
    URL url = new URL("http://www.mywebsite.com/classes/MyClass.class");
    InputStream in = url.openStream();
    then do a loop of reading the bytes in, and writing them out to some FileOutputStream

  • File DownLoad from R/3 to Local Disk through Web Dynpro

    Hi,
    I have a zebra print spool, to be saved in the local disk. For this, I have an RFC which will store the document in Portal Server KM folder and will give the file name for web dynpro app. The web dynpro app will search the KM Directory, and will enable the user to save the file on the local disk.
    Is it right approach? Is there any other approaches which would be efficient. BTW, I have files from 4k to 12k size. Can I directly attach it to the context variable and store it directly onto the local disk.
    I am running Netweaver2004 SP16. I cant use Input stream, does this affect the performance?.
    Thanks, I appreciate your time.

    Hi Raj,
    you have the name and the full path of the file you can access the file through FILE IO as the file is on portal server only and then you can use the File Download UI in web dynpro to download the file

  • Network user access to local disk to solve I/O throughput issue?

    Not sure if this is the best forum for this, but...
    THE ISSUE:
    I work at a small university and am responsible for the Mac network and video dept (only 1 xserve and about 20-odd clients). Anyway, everyone uses network accounts. I have 3 iMacs for Final Cut and so far everyone just captures to the server over gigabit ethernet. We're only using DV25 (~4MB/sec transfer) and it hasn't been an issue until this week. Now as people begin to stress more about final projects, however, and are spending more time, the suites are being used more during the same times. Even though the throughput is usually less than 10MB/sec, which (I think?) is well under what gigabit ethernet supports, we're consistently getting stalled video and dropped frames. We've often had multiple people working on projects (playback) simultaneously in the past, but never capturing simultaneously before. Also, another factor that may come into play, is my 3TB RAID 5 that they're using has become rather full at this point (down to 200MB) so perhaps read/write times are being affected?
    Now, we're looking at adding 6 more Final Cut suites, which will potentially increase my throughput load by 200%, so I really need to find a solid solution (and fibre cards are not an option since they're iMacs--and we don't have that budget anyway).
    THE QUESTION:
    Since the issue seems to only occur while capturing and not during playback, it seems the easiest solution would be to give the editor group access to the local hard drive (and then copy from there to their network storage so they can work on any given station later) which I'm not sure how the best way to do this would be. OR, should gigabit ethernet be capable of sustaining the throughput I need and there's some other problem I should be looking at to fix that?
    Related, if they do capture to the local disk (or even an external hard drive, which we may end up going to), is there some script or something that can be run every night to automatically copy files from X location on a local drive to Y location (say, a common media storage location) on the server RAID?

    Hi
    +". . . my 3TB RAID 5 that they're using has become rather full at this point (down to 200MB). . ."+
    I think the problem you're currently seeing starts (and probably ends) here. Regardless of what your data comprises of the general rule of thumb is to make sure you keep at least 10% of free disk space for any hard drive let alone a RAID. Most people would generally recommend 15% for a RAID 5. A rough calculation based on your 3TB RAID would mean you should keep at least 300GB free. You're well below that unless 200MB is a typo? I'm surprised the whole thing has not ground to a halt?
    Video Capture, Editing and Playback in a network home environment is always going to place a considerable strain on any network unless you've prepared the ground first. For example 60 seconds of RAW Video is roughly 200MB in size. Multiply this for a classroom of 16 and that's a lot of data. Even if you're not using hi-def you're still talking a lot of data.
    There are better ways of doing this.
    HTH?
