Encumbrance Processing in PeopleSoft 9.1 HRMS?

Existing Functionality
Chart fields are created by PeopleSoft Financial Supply Chain System (FSCM) and given to HCM. Integration broker is set up for HCM to send Actuals Distribution to .FSCM. The delivered ‘Combo Build Request Process’ (from FSCM) and Load Combo Table Process (from HCM) are not being used by GNWT as they currently have a ‘wild card’ chart field mapping in Financial that is not compatible with the delivered process.
Problem : . Functional HCM users (Data Management) are given the chart fields to use when entering Combo Codes on Job Data, and a custom process is run to create an entry in the Department Budget Table (at the Appointment Level) with Combo Codes entered on Job Data.
Pain Point: it is difficult to ensure that the correct chart fields have been entered on Job Data; need to ensure that expenses are allocated to the proper accounts.
Solution suggested by Oracle Consulting: Set up the Dept Budget Table at the Department Level, so that the defaulting of expense accounts occur at the org level (SAM); the system will use the Dept Budget Table to process Encumbrances and distributes Actuals at this level
GNWT has department where expenses of some of employees are booked to a different combo code than the combo code mentioned for the department.
Question 1 : Can the solution of defining budgets at the department level work for above scenario?
Question 2 :If above solution will not work, can we do as follows:
1. Define budget at the department level (for those employees where combo code match with department code).
2. Define budgets for employees at the appointment level where combo code assigned to the employee is different from what is defined at the department level.
3. Is there any solution to address above issue?

    Write a simple java class and right click and use create j2ee web service option run the wizard accepting the default's....after that under the resources folder in Jdev u find a .deploy file deploy on the application server...get the wsdl and consume it in the BPEL process.

    The modules under Oracle HRMS are: HR, Payroll, Advanced Benefits, Time & Labor, Learning Management, SSHR, iLearning, iRecruitment and Business Intelligence.
    Under HR, You have:
    1. Ogranizaitonal Structures, Jobs, Positions and Grade Structures
    2. Recruitment Process
    3. Career management
    4. People management
    Under Payroll, You can:
    1. Setup Pay methods, Payroll frequencies, Elements (Basic sal, HRA etc..), write formulas to calculate your salary components.
    2. Run regular payroll process
    3. Retro pay
    4. Loan or Advance Payment etc..
    Under OAB (Advanced Benefits): This is only specific to United States.
    You can setup different benefit plans based on the eligibility criteria such as Medical, Dental, Life Insurence etc. You can also enroll your dependants.
    Under Time & Labor:
    This is useful for organizations who will pay the salaries based on the working hours. You can setup timecards, holiday calendars, shifts, different types of allowances based on the working hours and over time as well.
    Learning Management:
    This is useful for the organizations like Universities and all.

    [This all were install on windows server 2003 enterprise edition ]
    I have install
    1. oracle 10g
    2. weblogic 9.2
    3. tuxedo 9.0
    4. peopleTool 8.49 (7 cds all)
    5.PeopleSoft Enterprise Human Resources Management System and Campus Solutions 9.0 (CD)
    After this i started to create the database part for PS
    after Configuration Manager and using SignOn of DATAMover
    thier i select File > database setup
    here was two options to select
    PeopleSoft HRCS database - US English
    PeopleTool system database - US English
    here selecting demo radio button i select PeopleSoft HRCS database - US English
    got one script to run, executed it and after hours it was successfully completed

  • Workflow in HRMS

    I have question about Workflow in HRMS. Are the seeded workflow processes just for HR self-service web pages (not for forms)? I can't find in wich app form wich workflow can be started. From witch place in HRMS forms are workflow processes raised (maybe using wf_engine create and startprocess procedures in some place)? For example, terminating employer and when starts workflow process for termination? I need to now exact place (maybe in some package, trigger, api, user hook or etc), because i can't find form, where workflow process and some action (like employee termination) can be binded. How to know, which workflows in wich HRMS forms are used? How are they attached to forms?
    I know what in iProcurement, the workflow is attached through the Setup form. For example, the 'PO Approval' workflow is executed whenever a PO is created and submitted for approval. This is defined through the 'Document Type' menu of Purchasing Super User responsibility. There we are specifying the workflow name and process name. But in HRMS it is not so. Or am I wrong?

    Your question is not clear. What do you want to know exactly ?
    1. Do you want to know how to attach the workflow process to particular form/Function ? (or)
    2. Whether we can use the workflows for Professional forms ?
    If it is first query, Login to 'System Admin' responsibility. Navigate to Application => Function. Query the function name for which you want to see/change the 'Workflow Name'. Select 'Form' tab and check the name of the workflow in the parameters field.
    If your query is second one, There are no workflows available for professional forms.

    I am planning to monitor Peoplesoft 8.52 HRMS application through oem 12c grid control. First I have installed 12c grid control successfully. Followed by I am installing the Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise Manager Plugin in 12c oem repository containing 11g database. I am facing configuration assistant error message as below
    OUI-25031 some of configuration assistance failed.
    Configuration assistant "PeopleSoft Environment Management Repository Plug-in" failed
    The "/u01/oracle/cloudcontrol/middleware/oms/cfgtoollogs/configToolFailedCommands" script contains all commands that failed, were skipped or were cancelled. This file may be used to run these configuration assistants outside of OUI. Note that you may have to update this script with passwords (if any) before executing the same.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Please assist me how shall I proceed further...

    I just came across the same problem.
    In my case, I hit this issue while trying to reinstall Oracle EMCC 12g.
    Since previous installation failed, I decided to start from the beginning again but I am now hitting this.
    Before trying to reinstal, I dropped SYSMAN and a few other users created on the provided DB.
    Did you solve this issue?
    I believe I may have not "clean up" the database properly. Which would be the right way of wiping out the DB without actually rebuild it again?

  • What is the best way to extract/consume HR data to and from Peoplesoft?

    I have to do integration between Peoplesoft and Oracle ERP to send HR data from Peoplesoft to Oracle HRMS. I will use Oracle Fusion Middleware for building the interface. I don't have much experience in working with Peoplesoft tools, like PeopleTool, App Engine, Integration Broker, Component Interface and Oracle adapter for Peoplesoft. Can somebody please let me know what is the most popular or recommended or best way to extract HR data from Peoplesoft.
    The second interface will consume some HR data from Oracle. Once again I need to know different ways to insert data into Peoplesoft.
    I appreciate if you can share your experience for the above two scenarios.

    If you plan on buying a apple laptop you have two options. You can use time machine or pull the data off of it directly and put it onto the external. I advise the second choice. This way you do not have stuff that you dont need filling up the space on your new drive. Get your applications, music, documents, photos, videos and perhaps downloads and desktop; Put all of these on your external. And then reinstall osx onto your drive.
    *** If buying a windows machine next check the format of the drive in disk utility. You will need a program called Paragon NTFS to format the drive window compatibility. You have to pay for the free version but can download a trail version for free.

  • Crystal Runtime exception: Missing parameter values

    Our company did a PeopleTools upgrade at one of our clients recently. We upgraded them to PeopleTools 8.50.08. We had to convert all the Crystal Reports to the 2008 format using the RPT converter which is included in the Client install of PeopleTools.
    The only problem now is that a lot of the Crystal processes in PeopleSoft are failing with the following error:
    Crystal Runtime exception: Missing parameter values.
    I've checked the parameters which are being passed to the report and I see both parameters are filled:

    Database type is Oracle. HRMS version is 8.8. I can run the Query which gets the data in just fine and I can also run the report from Crystal fine. This only happens with Crystal reports which have a date field as a parameter/prompt in the report.
    There's currently an SR open at Oracle, but I was hoping that someone here can help me nail this issue. I'm not too happy with the quallity of Oracle support, but that's a whole different story.

  • How to configure PS_SERVDIR and PS_FILEDIR?

    I need some clarification about PS_SERVDIR and PS_FILEDIR.
    Scenario:
    We have two applications:
    1# SAP
    2# Peoplesoft
    In SAP details about Finance
    In Peoplesoft details about HRMS
    When am running Payslip in Peoplesoft amount will detected in Finance.
    What are all the things to configure for this scenario ?

    It sounds like the removal process didn't work correctly or something has not updated.
    Did you uninstall Photoshop and Lightroom using their uninstallers? On Windows, this would be in the Programs and Features section of the Control Panel. On Mac, the uninstallers are located in Applications > Untilities > Adobe Installers or within the application folder itself (i.e. Applications > Adobe Photoshop CC). If you simply deleted the application folders to remove these applications, there will still be many remnants left over that give indication that the program is still installed. Try using the Cleaner Tool (http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html) to take away these left over pieces.
    If you uninstalled correctly, there may just be a status update waiting to happen. Try signing out of and back into the Creative Cloud desktop app. Use the gear in the top right corner and choose Properties, click the Account tab, and click the Sign Out button. Then sign back in.

  • SAP Business Workflow in a multiple ERP environment

    Hi,
    Our organization is looking to implement Peoplesoft for HR and SAP ERP for other business processes. Business users would ues UWL for their approval tasks. The SAP Business workflow or SAP NW BPM would be the tool for the approval process. Question: is there best practice for this scenario? I.e. the business process is designed and implemented via SAP ERP or SAP NW BPM and the HR maintains the organizational structure in Peoplesoft (or a non-SAP ERP) environment.
    To my knowledge, the following options are available for SAP Business Workflow for agent determination (approval process):
    1. Implement a realtime design (e.g. RFC) to connect to the non-SAP ERP: the non-SAP ERP would implement agent determination rules that can be called by SAP, since the Org. structure is maintained in that environment
    2. Share the Org. structure and HR data with SAP: not preferred option, I guess, due to sync problems (not realtime)

    Hi.
    I would consider carefully that do you even need the HR structure in ERP for your non-HR business processes? What kind of workflow processes will you have in ERP that require HR structure?`Aren't your HR processes in Peoplesoft system, and you are running the HR processes there? You don't necessarily even need the HR structure in SAP. Maybe you can build your own approval "paths" with some other way. Invoices can be approved by WBS responsible users (not organizational managers), etc. Or maybe you can build your own simple approval organization in HR, etc.
    Also pay attention to the fact that the approvers in workflow will eventually be the users - not employees. So if you have org.structure in Peoplesoft, you should also map the SAP users to this organization/employees. I mean that if you can do some kind of RFC or web service call to Peoplesoft system to find the approvers, you should pay attention that the SAP user ID is found.
    Think really carefully what you will do. Maybe sharing the HR data with SAP is not that bad idea either (I have no idea how difficult this is between SAP and Peoplesoft). I don't see that org.structure is something that must be "real-time". It is just fine if it is updated for example once in a way - IF it is used only by workflow for determining approvers.
    Just think carefully before you do something unnecessarily complex.

    I have a query relating to the process for recon with Oracle HRMS and creating/updating users in OIM and then approval to provision to target resource.

    1. Run Recon to get the users from flat file location.
    2. Create users in OIM and based on information from flat file trigger approval process for creation of the users in target resource

    To configure the flat file gtc, just go through Admin console guid there you will find all the required steps for flat file recon. Or you can refer the OIM Labs also.
    Now to trigger the db provisioning with approval, you can crete access policy on ALL User group as all the user get created in that particular group. While you will create access policy there is option to check for Approval Required,just chyeck that option and your approval will start tirgger automatically.
    On the other end you need to create an resourceobject, it resource, provisioning process and approval process for database provisioning.

    If we do not install other language packs and enter the other language information in DFFs (this is assuming the database is UTF8) what are the issues we should expect. Would that data work fine with reports and interfaces.

    Peoplesoft will be the main system to maintain employee master records and will replicate the employee creation or change back to SAP R/3.
    Is there any involvement of BAPI's in this process??? If so how can this be achieved?
