End of car audio cable came off in my iPod 160gb classic

Any advice on what I should do to get a tiny tip of the car audio cable out of my iPod? I unplugged it today to take the iPod into the supermarket with me and when I came back to try to reconnect, it would no longer insert properly and I noticed the tip of the adaptor was no longer on the cable. I have NO idea how to get into the iPod and do not want to break it trying to get it out but my iPod is now rendered totally useless until I can get it out. Thanks in advance.

If you don't want to risk damaging the iPod, take it into your local Apple Store's Genius Bar and they should be able to assist you. If no Apple stores are in your area, look for an Apple Authorized Reseller instead.

  • Warning! Update to ipod Touch Software affects use in car audio

When you install the latest update to the ipod Touch (which you have to pay for) it has a massive impact upon its ability to work with your car audio system. I have an ipod connector in my 2 year old BMW that was brillant as it gave me all the play lists, albums, etc. It still does this but you have to wait up to 15 minutes for it to scan the library and display the tunes. It also no longer starts where it stopped within a file which is a real pain as I listen to audio files that can be up to 2 hours long! Getting back to where you left off is a real pain. Now have to reinstall original software and wave goodbye to the money I paid to upgrade.

Gnome.....I've seen this forum/hospital analogy several times now, and it just doesn't hold water. First of all, in a hospital there are professional medical personnel to help you. The patients don't take care of other patients. Secondly, if I want to find out whether my ailment is really something of concern, common, or how to deal with it, I'd go to a hospital, maybe even investigate medical records. I wouldn't go to where all the happy healthy people are. Finally (and fortunately), most people don't experience any number of diseases or birth defects I could mention. That doesn't mean that millions do suffer from such problems. We shouldn't use supposed rarity as an excuse to cut research spending or attention to such very real issues (again, mostly not "self-inflicted"). I'm very happy you have had a good experience with Apple, but there are a large number of folks who have not and are both angry and disappointed with Apple's lack of meaningful and public response to a multitude of iOS 4.x problems. Please give the hospital comment a rest and try to be less condescending to your poor sick brothers and sisters who cannot afford to buy every newly released Apple device.

  • Ipod nano and Alpine car audio problem

have bought an Alpine 9850Ri car audio, but it cant find my ipod nano 1st generetion. In the alpines manual it is written that Apline supports the ipod nano ver 1.0 ...
I tried connetcing ipod to another alpine model , but it cant find it too.
So is there any way to load older software to ipod?
    Restoring, reseting wont work.

This itrip -- http://store.apple.com/us/product/TQ044LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDA2MQ&mco=MTA4NTQy -- says it's compatible with the Nano 4g, and it uses FM to play through your car radio. I don't have any experience with it, however. The reviews are so-so.

  • Listen to touch thru car speakers with 1/8" audio cable

I had a 1st gen touch that I could connect to my car with a 1/8" audio cable. It allowed me to listen to my touch through my car speakers. I got a 3rd gen 32 GB touch and it doesn't work with the same cable. When I plug it in, the sound comes out of the touch's speakers. Is there a special 1/8" audio cable that I can buy that will allow my new touch to play through my car's speakers? Thanks!

I have a similar problem - I have a Logic 3 adapter that connects to the dock adapter and a 3.5mm plug on the other end to a jack in the car. Worked like a charm with an iPod but doesn't work with the iTouch. Also noted that when attached to a Bose sound dock - no charging but the music works. There must be something different in the design. Tried Bluetooth also but not able to connect it to the audio system (Blackberry works fine).

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo. When you see "Connect to iTunes" on the screen, you can release the Home button and iTunes will display the recovery mode message.  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808
Then you can restore your phone:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

    Hi Bander Bunny!
I have a couple of articles that should be able to help you troubleshoot this issue a little further. You may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes first. This has to be done in a specific manner, and this article can help you do that:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
Another option is that you may want to try syncing your iPod nano manually. Here's is an article that pertains to manually managing the content of your iPod nano:
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod

It's also possible that this issue resides with your iPod nano. Here is a website that will help you troubleshoot the iPod nano:

  • Male to male audio cable for car doesn't work with my iphone 4s?

I have a 3.5 mm male to male cable that I have used in my car so I can listen to my music.  It works fine with my iphone 3G, but it doesn't work with the new 4s.  Is there a special cable I need to use with it?  It's weird, because my earbuds work with either iphone, but not the audio cable.  Suggestions??

I have the exact same issue with my new 4S.
    I haven't find a solution yet.

  • Captivate 5: Audio is cut-off at the end of the published file

    Hi,
I'm using Captivate 5. I published my projects to Flash 10 (SWF/HTM) format and the audio is always cut-off at the end. For example, if my last slide has this audio "Thank you for time and have a good day.", what you will hear is only "Thank you for your ti" or "Thank you for your time and have". This only happens on the published file. The audio is not cut-off when you preview the project.
    Here are additional observations:
-> If I published with playback controls, the audio is cut-off the first time i view the output; however, the second time I view the output or if I drag the playhead, the audio is no longer cut-off. The timing of the elements (mouse, highlights, audio, etc.) is also way better when I view it the second time versus the first time.
-> If I published without playback controls, the audio is always cut-off no matter how many times I view the flash file.
-> I have tested publishing to Flash with different # of slides (10 slides, 50 slides, 100 slides) and the result is the same. So I don't think it has something to do with the number of slides.
    > Note also that the last slide has enough audio to match the slide's length. So I don't know why it's cut-off.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
    Regards,
    Rose

  • Problems with a lightning adapter - connecting my iphone 5 to a 30-pin audio cable in my car.

Randomly, the audio stops recognizing my connection to my car stereo via a 30-pin audio cable connected to my iphone 5 via a lightning adapter. It switches to the internal speaker and I have no idea how or why. It resolves itself just as unpredictably. I cannot replicate these conditions predictably. I have tried another lightning connector and a different audio cable. Due to damage, I also recently changed to a new iphone 5. The problem still exists. It appears to be related to the connector or iOS. Is anyone else having this problem?

Your case designer should have done their homework .
They would have full details of the iPhone and its accessories

  • Ipod mini/car audio

Does anyone know how I can connect my ipod mini to my car cd player's aux port? Is there a cable I can buy for it? Or am I better off getting a FM transmitter? Thanks for your help.

b Various Methods to Connect to a Car Stereo System, or Listen to Your iPod in the Vehicle
There are several ways to connect any iPod (or MP3 player) to a car audio system. There are also many opinions on which works better than others. Here is my synopsis:
    b Best Way:
Direct connection via the dock connector or headphone jack of the iPod, to the mini-jack input (or AUX RCA jacks) of your car stereo. Not many low/moderate-end cars have this feature yet, but it is becoming more popular. Some aftermarket auto stereo units have this feature. There are also some after-market, moderate to fairly expensive adaptors that hook into your existing car stereo that will provide a direct connection. Pretty slick, but can be pricey ($80-$300). If money is no object, a clean way to go. Not very portable from car to car – if at all.

    http://www.mp3yourcar.com/
    b Better:
Connect your iPod to a cassette adaptor and play your tunes through your car's cassette player. In my opinion (via testing in my car using the accessories I have), it has better fidelity than FM transmitters. Some new cars no longer come with a cassette player, so it may not be an option. It will provide even better audio quality if you can run the audio feed out of the dock connector (see the SendStation link below). Can be portable between cars that have a cassette player and also be used in your home cassette system.
    b Good:
Attach one of the many FM transmitter devices to your iPod and play the tunes through an unused FM station. Some noticeable degradation and distortion may be heard - depending on the quality of the transmitter, the sensitivity of your ears and the airwave congestion in your area. Portable between cars, and may be used in a home system (an iTrip or other self-powered unit). FM transmitters that need to be plugged into a DC auto jack may not work in a home environment (without some sort of adaptor).
    b Marginal:
Attach an external speaker system to the iPod and play it in the car. Workable, but not too good - unless you spring for a $300+ Bose (or similar) system. But why? Only if your vehicle has no Stereo system, perhaps.
    b Brave Techno-Geek:
This site gives some direction on adapting your own car stereo by yourself: http://www.whatsmyip.org/ipodrx8/ . Too risky for my blood -- but it has been successfully done by one on these Discussions: Seanski, "silent track" #2, 11:59pm Jul 15, 2005 CDT
Whichever you choose, power the iPod through a DC adapter running from the car (separate, or as part of the audio adaptor). See the reviews for all the various accessories mentioned above and more, at the iLounge
You will also get a better audio output if one uses the dock connection plug, rather than the headphone jack. See this site for a novel adaptor: https://www.sendstation.com/us/products/pd_lousb.html. Others types are also available via this site.
I have read both positive and negative reviews of each method, and within method, there are great variations in performance of different manufacture's systems – and peoples’ opinions of their performance. Some cassette adaptors work poorly, some better. I got lucky with my choices and have not had any big problems, yet...
BTW - I have a Belkin cassette adaptor and an iTrip Mini FM transmitter (as well as a Newer Technology RoadTrip!+). Using the same song in the same car, I found that the cassette adaptor worked significantly better for me than the FM transmitters.
I am now waiting for two (one for each car) Blitzsafe direct connection cables to arrive in the mail.

  • Displays track 0/5303 (or there abouts) when plugged in to car audio

    Hi All,
New to this discussion board as I've never had any issues with my iphone except this one which randomly I managed to fix last time it occurred.
Here's a summary and any suggestions/input would be most appreciated. My car has support for the iphone built in to the audio system and kindly come provided with the cable, sure enough connect it up and it plays track 1 of however many there are and I can cycle through artist/genre/album etc. A little while back after adding some more music it displayed track 0 of something like 5303 and having no idea what I did on itunes a couple of days later it miraculously worked. Needless to say it's happened again.
I can play music on the phone but it doesn't work in my car, its not a fault with the car as my friends iphone works fine and he has like 8gb more music than me! So nothing to do with a capacity problem. Sorry a little long winded in the end but would appreciate any suggestions.
One last thing is, if I pick a track and plug it in it'll play on the speakers but you cant do anything with it other than adjust the volume so its kind of then like just have an audio cable rather than the full usb support.
    Kevin

    Any suggestions?

  • Mini audio cable?

Anyone try the cable listed at the link below? I'm looking for a mini-->mini audio cable to connect my IP to my Aux input in my car. I bought a cable that seems to work from Radio Shack, but it doesn't go fully into my IP. At least I think it doesn't. As soon as I push the cable in, I get an immediate playback from the iPod side of the IP.
The only problem is that I want to instead hook up to a "streaming" connection with "Tuner" or "AOL Radio" instead of my stored music. I think my main problem is the outside case protecter prevents full insertion. So I guess I'm looking for a mini cable that does not get bigger once it gets past the male end.
    [Apple cable|http://store.apple.com/us/product/TN986LL/A?fnode=MTY1NDAzOQ&mco=MjE1NTky Mg]

That's the right cable. 5mm refers to the outer diameter of the cable itself, not the plug.
