End of clip black 'thing'

See this image:
If you look caefully then you see a thin black part at the end of the middle clip
How do I get rid of it!!
This is causing me problems (I think)
I have one clip that plays for 10 seconds
This clip gets shrunk to 20% and plays on a loop on the top left
Then I have 4 other clips who are sized 10% say and they sit on the bottom left - arranged so that they can all be seen
Problem: right at the end the screen becomes the very first clip - i.e. the first clip in full size
What am I doing wrong?
Hope some of that makes sense!
Omar

thanks for replying tom
i fixed - somehow - not 100% sure how
i removed the clip and added the same one by copying (i'd done this many times but it never worked before)
if u look closely there's a thin black line at the end of the clip - now that it's fixed, the problem isnt there

  • Snapping cursor line to end of clips

I recently upgraded from 1.5 to 3 and for some reason by default the play line thing doesnt snap to the end of clips automatically. Does anyone know how to find the option that will allow that line, i dont know what its called, the line that scrolls past the clips when you hit play, how to make it so that when you click hold and move that line it automatically snaps to the end of the clip when it passes it?

Maybe you need to turn on the relevant Snapping option, Snap to Clip. They appear in a drop down menu when you right click on the Timeline at the bottom of the screen.

  • Black thing on Photo settings..help, before i get bumped off to the bottom

Hope this info helps.. I just got this iMac intel dual core few days ago coz the iLife 6 sounded better with new features but too many glitches??? To get around this black thing on Photo Settings, i just drop same picture from my pane to replace old UN-editable picture. It works but what's with the black thing! And i get this spinning wheel everytime i play the movie, even fresh from reboot. Will it also help if i up the ram? I have 1gb of it now.
"Help!! If I edit a clip (still picture) with Photo Settings, it's all black, and no image of the clip. Thus, i can't edit it. But i can adjust time (it's not disabled) but can't do ken burns effect and zoom coz I can't see what i should be editing!. I've done everything--close the app and reboot my machine.
I don't like that Photo Settings is floating. I wish it was permanently on the pane. "

Hi mit 1 - Your problem is most likely caused by the fact that once a photo has been worked on, and then iMovie trash emptied, the photo can no longer be further edited. As you found, you had to re-import the photo. In future, if you think you might need to further edit the pics later, then drag the photos out of the iMovie trash, to the Clips Pane. iMovie will then allow you to re-edit them. For some reason, once a photo has been edited, iMovie dumps the original, un-edited version into the trash!

  • Popping sounds at end of clips

    Hey
I'm using Audition CS6 (windows) and I'm getting these click/pop sounds at the end of clips in multitrack. If I open the individual clips up to edit and play it through there isn't any sign of it. However if I play the clip through in edit mode and stop it near the point where the pop is I will hear the pop when I hit stop. The irritating thing is if I do a mix down these little errors are still there and they are pretty loud!
Any idea what could cause this? I'm using windows 7 and Cs6.
    G

Without seeing the waveforms and/or hearing what you've got this is a complete shot in the dark -- and probably unlikely since it sounds like this is happening to multiple files and not just one but:
    1) Does the audio in your clips end with the waveform much above or below 0 amplitude? (You need to zoom in extra close to see if this is the case) If your wave stops too far above or below the line, and then suddenly drops to 0 as it's playing through in a mix it can cause clicks.
    2) Do you have the gain boosted on these clips anywhere in the multitrack mix window? If so, maybe you've got a click in the wavefore that's not too noticeble when playing in the edit window, but boosting the gain in the multitrack makes it more noticeble.

  • Repeated Frames at the end of clips

I have a MacBook Pro with the adobe premiere pro cc 14, but I noticed this problem is CS6 also. The problem is this: Say I have two clips in the timeline that are connected (Clip A, Clip B).
If I alter Clip B in anyway (change scale or position, or simply remove it from the timeline) the first frame of Clip B will remain at the end of Clip A. So, when I execute the playback function I can see a quick flash of Clip B at the end of Clip A.
    Here's what I've tried:
I tried rendering the files--didn't work.
I tried simply trimming the repeated frame off--didn't work.
    Here's what did work.
There's a straight line that goes through every clip, I don't know what its called but I think it has something to do with the speed, I would drag that from say 100 to 96.55. The video would have the red render bar above it, and the repeated frame would disappear.
HOWEVER, in my current project  I have serval repeated frames in a blank space where there are video clips, so the previous method can not work.
    What the heck!?!?!
    Thanks

    What are these clip exactly

  • Video freezes at the end of clips.

Hi, I have encountered strange glitch. I have put many short clips into project, with straight cut, no transitions between. Some of clips doesn't follow seamlessly - video freezes for about 1sec at the very end of clip but I can hear audio from following clip and after that 1sec freeze video continues with audio. Therefore I "miss" that 1sec of video from the beginning of the clip. It happens only with some of clips and sometime I can sort it out with slight trimming. But mostly cannot.
What am I doing wrong there?

If you go into iMovie Preferences, make sure you select "Display Time Codes" as hh:mm:ss:frames.
By default, iMovie edits to the nearest 10th of a second, but by checking this parameter in preferences, you can edit to the nearest frame.

  • How can I get rid of the transition that I added in and the Black thing around the footage?

I added a transition between videos but how can I delete it and there's a black thing around the footage? It is really brothering me when doing cuts.

Select the shelf and use Shift-Cmd-G to break apart. You will lose the black thing and the transitions.

  • Visual indicators at beginning/end of clip or sequence?

  • Timeline removing start and end of clips

Apologies if this has been posted before - got through 20 of the 116 pages to look for it!
iMovie 6.0.1 appears to have a bug when dragging clips from clip pane into timeline. Start and end of clip are cut off. Same occurs when adding transition in timeline. This does not happen when working in clip viewer rather than timeline, though there is still a small loss when adding transitions (this probably accounts for a previous posting complaining about loss of audio synch when adding transitions).

  • A portion of the audio is missing on the end of clips?

Using Adobe Premiere Elements 7 a portion of the audio is missing on the end of clips after I bring it in. The files are motion JPEG AVI .

    Welcome to the forum.
I do not recall seeing any issue with muxed MJPEG files, regarding truncated Audio. First, take a look at this ARTICLE on MJPEG files.
Next, all Audio files (muxed or elemental streams) must be Conformed, which converts them to 32 bit, floating point files for editing. If one does not allow the Conforming to complete 100%, the Audio can be truncated. See this ARTICLE.
    Good luck,

  • Hi there. Was thinking of selling my MacBook pro and I ended up deleting random things. Help

Hi there. Was thinking of selling my MacBook pro and I ended up deleting random things. I accidentally changed the admin username to a few spaces using the spacebar button, but it seems to not be working. I still know the password. I also accidentally deleted the home folder location, so when I try to use Internet or open finder or anything it says "the home folder isn't located in the usual place. I also am unable to restart from the reboot using any of the cmd s or cmd c. I also don't have any of the disks. Please help. I don't care about files or info, the computer is essentially blank, I just can't access anything anymore

Sorry to say, No there isn't. Even IF you hadn't deleted, or still had, the Recovery HD partition from one of the Download only version of OS X, Lion, Mt Lion or Mavericks, you can't sell or give your Mac to anyone with one of those version installed. Those versions are tied to the Apple ID of the person that downloaded and installed them.
You could sell it like that but the new owner would never be able to update or upgrade it without the original Apple ID that downloaded and installed any of those versions. Putting the newer owner between a Rock and a hard place.
You must restore it to the original version of OS X that came on it when it was new and the only way to do that is with the original system discs it came with or a replacement set of them. These discs are Machine, Model, Specific and when and if you do sell it they should be given to the new owner along with the system.

  • Adding transitions and titles: no choosing ends of clips?

    Hi there,
Does anyone have a clue about the following:
When setting a theme you can choose to tick the box 'add transitions and titles'. According to the tutorial you should get the following options about the end of clips in your projects:
    - Overlap ends and shorten clip
    - Extend ends etc.
How come I do not have this option? I'm working in Imovie 8.0.6.
Any suggestions? I would like to use these options now and then...

This was an option in iMovie 08, but it was removed in iMovie 09.
The current behavior is that it overlaps ends and shortens the clip. This is the way you would want it to behave for video. After you painstakingly edit out Uncle Joe picking has nose at the wedding, you don't want a transition to put the nose-picking back into your movie. The overall length of the movie stays the same.
For photos, it was useful to have the option of extending or overlapping and shortening. But this is no longer an option as far as I know.

  • Black thing on top

I just recently got the iPhone 3GS and it does some weird thing every now and then, you know when you call someone and if you go into the menu during the call it makes a space (green, with information on the call) for you to tap on right? Well, my problem is that even when I don't use that feature, suddenly it decides to leave the space for that green bar and it is just a black space which has nothing on it and makes everything on the screen smaller because of that black bar on top.
I have turned it of and on several times and when I do it goes into let's call it "fine" mode, but sometimes it will just put it back (the black thing).
Anyone knows how to fix this?
    Thanks

    iOS 4 fixed it

  • Unwanted freeze frames at end of clips

Hi! I use iMovie 08 v 7.1.1 (529). My project is in 16:9 format and the video I use is 1280x720px .avi files (mjpeg codec) taken with a Canon TX1 camera and imported into iPhoto's library.
I have done about ten small projects in iMovie now, some are just clips strung together with cross disolve and/or ripple transitions between them. Other projects also have a background audio track extracted from long clips.
Lately, for no apparent reason, the video in some clips in my projects freezes about 0.5 to one second before the end of the clip. The transition to the next clip goes ahead with the unwanted freeze frame, and the background audio keeps playing - thereby going out of sync. This problem is apparent both when previewing the project in iMovie before it is exported, and also in the exported videos. (I have exported using Quicktime and .mp4 format - both as .h264 and MPEG4 Improved.) The first time I noticed the problem was when I was exporting a project at 10000kbps video (which probably was a bit higher than needed). Now the problem happens all the time, regardless of bitrate.
The strange thing is, these projects exported perfectly a few days ago. Then, trying to export them again now, the freeze-frame problems occurs.
When control clicking clips in any of my projects and selecting "Reveal in event browser", I now get the message that "the event for this clip is no longer available". Asking iMovie to "Reveal in Finder" works like a charm though.
    Anyone got any ideas?
    Cheers,

The following information is extracted from the FCP User Manual, and gave me an explanation to such black extra frame at the end of my edits that I used to fund too. I hope it helps you.
Learning About the Out Point Inclusive Rule
Before you begin to set In and Out points, it’s important to understand the “Out point inclusive” rule that Final Cut Pro follows, so you can avoid an unexpected extra frame at your Out point.
Out point inclusive means that when you set an Out point at the position of the playhead, the frame that the playhead is on is included in your edit. This rule means that whenever you set In and Out points, the minimum duration set is always one frame long. For example, if you place the playhead on a specific frame, and then set both an In point and an Out point, the In point is placed at the beginning of the frame and the Out point is placed at the end, resulting in a one-frame duration. If this rule did not exist, it would be
possible to create edits with zero duration, which would be useless.

  • Fade to black doesn't end completely in black

This is driving me crazy. I've been using IMovie for years but first time on this new G4 laptop with IMovieHD. In a new project with clips in the timeline the scrubber won't extend to the very end of the clip. A fade to black doesn't end in black because when you zoom in the whole way on the scrubber bar you can't extend the scrubber the last sixteenth of an inch or so. This is screwing up fades and transitions. Anybody else seen this? I'm begging someone to respond. My second time posting this.

    Okay, just tried this myself.
    I see what you mean.
    Try this:
At the end of your movie:
Put a blank title after the fade out. This gives the playhead somewhere to go and your fade will go all the way to black.
    OR
In the middle of your movie:
Push the clips (transition included) appart so there's a little space between them. You should now see your transition fade all the way to black.
