End of contract is near, what happens to my unlimited data plan

For past years I have upgraded my phone and signed a new contract, however since the last time I agreed to a contract Verizon did away with upgrading and keeping your unlimited data plan, so need-less-to-say I haven't upgraded. I have the Nation wide 1400 friends & family plain with unlimited data, My family plan also has 2 other users, all with different end dates, however my line is the one with unlimited data, and my contract ends soon. my question is; will I lose my unlimited data at the end of my contract? or will I keep it so long as I don't sign a new contract, or can I agree to another term without upgrading.

I can understand your concern dibeck but our current plans can also work for your needs. You can perform a pricing plan analysis online via MY verizon http://bit.ly/xB4iTc  to check wich one of o ur shared data plans would be perfect for your family. Check ou t the plans here http://vz.to/1lwOwRQ . You can also keep your unlimited data by ying a phone at full retail.

  • What happened to International Unlimited Data Plan for $64.99?

I am confused about international data plans,
I get that the $64.99 unlimited international data plan
is probably gone even if you were able to grandfather in the
    unlimited $29.99 data plan currently.
I understand that Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, and even Europe
have $30 to $100 dollar tiered data plans. But how about Asia?
Specifically I am wondering about JAPAN.
I was using a global 3G Motorola Droid 2 in January 2011 on
a unlimited data plan for $64.99 because Japan uses CDMA.
All I see on Verizon's website is that Japan seems to now
only be data accessible via a $20/MB pay per MB system
with any smartphone including an iPhone 4.
    So thats it?!
The "Occasional Global Traveler" doesn't have any global value plans other than the ones I already can access???
(I don't want to risk losing the unlimited $30 data plan on my smartphone)
Theres no option for me to prepay for international data allowance, at ANY price???
(I'm surprised Verizon doesn't extend the same data allowances in Asia as they do for Europe, Canada, & Mexico now)
My only other option is to have my phone unlocked to work with international 3G SIM cards from other countries???
(I get that this is likely a cheaper option anyway than going thru Verizon, but what a hassel)
4G LTE is the next wireless global standard that Verizon leads the way in, so why limit its potential with 3G???
(Cutting back on 3G global data roaming capability will only choke 4G adoption around the world, am I wrong?)
So Verizon wants me to use Wi-Fi when roaming, well Wi-Fi doesn't give me voice calls using my cell number right???
(Skype, Google Voice, Tango, Gizmo5, and TruPhone are cool but doesn't do what I need, am I asking for too much?)
I am in need of a non-third party work around solution backed by a reputable company like Verizon please.
    Thank you,
    churabunny

Yes, that really is the way to go.   It is only a little hassle. Getting it unlocked is easy if you are a Verizon customer (the many complaints on here come from people trying to get it unlocked abroad, which seems to be hard because of a change verizon made).  Then, depending where  you go, you need a local SIM or a regional SIM.  In some places this is very easy, others a little harder.
But the savings are large.  I did this even before the global plan went away a voice calls are so much cheaper with local SIMs.
(Using my D2G now in the UK, data and voice work fine with a local SIM, just having a little trouble with Wifi, not sure why!)

  • What happens to your previous ATT plan if you get an iPhone?

    Hi all,
I have a family plan for ATT and wondered what would happen to it if I upgraded to an iPhone. Does ATT replace my current plan with the $79 a month plan, or does it just tack on $20 to what I currently have?
    Cheers

Hi, I already had a family ATT plan. If you have a text message portion to your plan (per phone) then that is substituted/replaced with the iPhone data plan you pick. I actually ended up a little cheaper. I am not a big texter so our plan $ was slightly lower since i chose the $20 "data(texting)" plan. The only sneaky part on ATT part is that activating the iPhone plan pushes you into a brand new 2 year contract starting the day you activate the iPhone. It is a shame that Apple chose ATT which seems to have the worst internet speed and still has drop signal problems more than verizon. So I am stuck with ATT for 2 more years.

  • What happens between the timestamp 'Date Sent' and 'Execute from'

    Hi all,
from SXMB_MONI, I found that some messages take a long time, for example:
    Date Sent            23.09.2008 02:22:39
Time Taken to Process (Secs)    0,5044590
    Execute From         23.09.2008 02:23:12
    To                   23.09.2008 02:23:13
    Status Set           23.09.2008 02:23:13
you can find that there are about 30s between the 2 timestamps.
does anybody know what does the timestamp 'Date Sent' mean? and what does the 'Execute From' mean?
what happens between these 2 timestamps?
    Regards,
    Bean

    Hi,
I can't find date sent there...
Executed from and executed to means times, where message went in to IE and out from IE. For example, if any error occurs, there can be difference 2 days (mapping fails, you correct it and restart the message). So the start will be at 21.10.2008 but end 23.10.2008). But generally, this time comrpises:
    message routing & mapping
    Olian
after list all of the messages in SXMB_MONI, click the column 'EndTime', you will find the 'Date Sent'.

  • What happens when I restore data to a non-factory set iPhone?

Okay, another iCloud question. What I did was basically delete a game, start a new one, and now I want my old game back (saved to ICloud). What happens when I restore full data to a non-factory set iPhone? Will it overwrite current data? Will it delete everything? I just want to know, I'm such an iOS noob. :-/

A restore is all or nothing.
If a backup is restored to the device, ALL data currently on the device is wiped and replaced with the data from the backup.
Restoring a backup to get one saved game back seems rather extreme and silly.

  • What happens on my activation date?

Hi, I just switched broadband to BT from Sky, and would like to know what will happen on my activation date???  Does my Sky broadband just stop?
    Sorry for the newb question
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

As long as the activation goes smoothly (it does usually), then yes.  You may well find that you are without broadband for a short time, or even for most of a day if you are unlucky.   I think it was less than an hour for me when I moved from BE.
If the activation does not go smoothly then things can get quite bad.  The commonest reason for failure seems to be no-show by Openreach engineers.  Another one is BT screwing up the order and moving the telephone line over but cancelling your broadband order without telling you.  You can be without broadband for a few days, or in extreme cases for even more.  Read round the forum for a few horror stories and prepare for the worst just in case.
Make sure you have explicitly cancelled your Sky, not just asked for a MAC code.  Asking for a MAC code is not itself a cancellation; people often ask for a MAC but then decide to stay with the old service.  BT will then force a cancellation, and Sky may charge you a cancellation charge.
Good luck: I hope you are in the lucky majority.

  • HT1688 If I delete my apple ID what happens to my itunes data?

my daughter is using my old apple ID, and I gave her my iPhone 5.  I now have a Samsung Galaxy S4, I can't text my husband anymore, ATT said it had something to do with my apple ID.  We used to use the iMessage and now I can't.
please help.  What happens if I delete my apple ID so I can communicate to and Iphone from a Samsung and what happens to everything in my itunes account?
    Thank you

As long as you update your existing account with the new email address then you shouldn't lose anything, it should remain linked to the account. You can update the primary email address on your account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, by tapping on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and viewing your account, and via http://appleid.apple.com
After updating it you may need to tap on your id in Settings > iTunes & App Store on your phone and log out and then log back in for it to be 'refreshed' on it

  • HT201272 Songs/albums i purchased on iTunes do not play completely all the way to the end of the song. What happened? And what can I do to remedy this? I feel short-changed.

    What do I do please?

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting those incomplete songs from your iTunes library and redownload them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if they re-download in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find those songs and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

  • What happens to the apps' data, if they were restored to a new device, but apps never get installed?

This is a super easy scanario.
Say in my old phone I have totally 50 apps, 30 purchased under Appel ID (A), and another 20 purchased under a different Apple ID, (B).
The old device is iOS5 and I turned on iCloud backup and back up everything (data of all apps).
I get a new device, restore from iCloud, wait until everything (photo, messages, settings, most importantly, data of all 50 apps) are restoed to the new phone.
The first thing happen after the first reboot, and it will prompt me to log on my Apple ID, to install apps.
What if, at this moment I decied to only sign on with Apple ID (A), and just don't want to use all 20 apps that I purchased under Apple ID (B) anymore?
Is the data of those 20 apps become leftover /  orphane on my new phone, and just no way to clean them up?  Please notice again, that I did not say "install app and then delete", I know that will clean up the data as well. I mean when data is copied over but app never get installed.

Game settings and other data is part of the backup:
    iTunes: About iOS backups
A manual backup before you sync for the first time will save your content to the new PC.

  • What happened to my upgrade date? Its now 2 full years.

the last time I checked we were suppose to be able to upgrade in Nov. 13 that was months ago now its saying Mar. 2014 the only reason I rem. the date cause its my dads bday. if anyone could help me I would appreciate it thx

Ohhhh!  Now this is what I'm looking for. The dirt on "new terms and conditions."  I'm out from under my 8 year sentence. Renewed 4 times.  8 years of doing the "just once more I'll upgrade" syndrome.  Thanks for the reminder to not get back on the Ver-breakneck merry-go-round.  Happy belated birthday's to all dad's that remind you of a contract you never want to break from...Now Verizon is another thing.  Good luck Ann154.

  • What happens to app content/data with Family Sharing?

    Hello -
My girls, 10 and 12-yrs old, have been on my Apple ID for years.  We've muddled through by me just turning off and on certain permissions, but I'd like to considering Family Sharing and getting them their own Apple IDs.  I just got an iPhone 6 and we're passing the iPhone 5S to my eldest daughter, so it's an opportunity to do this now.
I've read all the instructions of setting up the kids in family share and how that works - I get that.
The question I have is whether everything has to be "recreated" on her phone?  So, if I set up a new Family Sharing account for her and activate it on her phone, will all of the apps and content disappear, so we have to then redownload every app?  In that case, won't the apps be "empty" of data?
So, for example, she and her friends have made a bunch of Video Star videos that live in the app.  I'm trying to figure out - if I set her up with a new Apple ID on Family Sharing, is all that data going to be gone?
Or, any progress in a game (like Smurfs Village that literally has been played over years - or can she sign in as me from the Game Center ID with that one to have it be the same)?
    Thanks for your help -

If you re-download the apps under a different ID, you'll lose all saved data.

  • If I upgrade an app? Say Angry Birds, what happens to my saved data?

App store is telling me there's an upgrade available to my paid version of angry birds, new levels etc included. Question though: if I upgrade, will I lose my progress? Having dedicated far too much of my life to this game already, I'm not sure I want to take the risk!!!

You will not lose any of your data upgrading the app.

  • Moving computer - what happens to my app data?

I'm moving from a PC to an iMac - not sure that's particularly relevant. Basically I want to sync my iPod touch to a new computer.
I'm not too bothered about music. My main concern is that i really dont want to lose my application data - I've selected the "Transfer Purchases" options, so I think my new computer now "owns" the purchases. However I'm still not actually syncing the apps - if I check the box, I get told "All existing applications and their data on the iPod "ipod name" will be replaced with applications from this iTunes library.
So how can I transfer the data too?
A completely different question... if I eventually upgrade from my iPod to an iPhone, can I then move my purchased applications *and data* to that?
    TIA. Ian.

The application data is not stored with the applications. It is included in the iPod backup. If you restore your iPod from the backup, the application data is restored. When you upgrade to an Phone, you can restore it from your iPod's backup and transfer the data.

  • What happened to the geo data in Photos? I used to be able to connect a geographical place to my pictures in IPhoto

I used to be able to see the geo data logged with my pictures from my camera in IPhoto. And I could attach a geographical place to the photos in my library without geo data. It was also possible to see a map indicating where all my photos were taken. This feature seems to have vanished in the new Photos application.
Can I see/edit geographical data in Photos?

Geo tagging was dropped like all of the other features that were dropped when Apple decided to dumb down their desktop photographic software.

  • What happened to the Insert Date menu item?

In the Numbers 3.0 upgrade the Insert Date menu item is gone.  Where can I now find it?  Or is there now  shortcut?
    David

    David,
Wait a minute... I'm adding that one to my list.
    My workaround:
    Type =Today() Return, Return, Up-Arrow,  Command-C, Shift-Command-V
This enters the date from a function then copies the cell and pastes the value back into the cell.
    Some shortcut, eh?
