End of developing

Hi,
I develop a software in "Oracle database 11g express edition", now I want to change the environment to be the end user environment (for the database and the application together).
1. Please help me and tell me what I need to do
2. after this change can I change again to developing environment ( if the software will need future changing )?
Thank's a lot

I tried to deploy the application by :
according this link About Deploying Your Application
1. but I don't understand "overview of eploying your application" how can I collect the  supporting object definitions ? and then I need to do export and import to the same file? in the same computers? why?
2. I created "end user" prom the application
3. I tried to do "About Publishing the Application URL"
but then I required to insert username and password but it notice me that it's wrong  username and password.
Please I need help

  • End of development of the Cisco ACE?

    Dear all,
I read in many IT websites that Cisco has confirmed that it will end development of its Application Control Engine (ACE) load-balancer products and it will not develop further generations of its ACE.
By the way, is it a correct information? Does Cisco will continue to sell ACE products? what we can do with the existing ACE20 and ACE30 already installed in our Data Center and is there any clear roadmap for Cisco load-balancer products?
    Ragards,
    Abdelaziz

    Hi Abdelaziz,
This was answered to another similar question at :
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2172040
At this current point in time, the ACE30 and ACE4710 will continue to be developed through A5(3.X) code as part of the planned lifecycle of those products.  Any of the other future products including vACE, RISE, Nexus based Modules, appliances, etc. currently have no ETA, nor has any lifecycle ever been defined as they are not released products.  There is also no official Cisco response at this point in time to the rumors of cancellation, holds, etc. despite the hinting of certain articles to "confirmed by Cisco resources" based comments.
Your best avenue for information is to talk with your local Cisco sales representative or account manager.  They may have more specific information pertaining to questions at a per-product/per-scenario level. As well, they will have the ability to help you plan your future deployments and designs queries accordingly.

  • New Development

    Hi Gurus
We have Dev,QA and Prod system. I have assigned task to do new developnment as and when required by Query developer so would you pl advise if I need to start from Dev >>>QA>>>Prod?
When I should transport the new dev to QA? Do I need to do some testing in Dev also before transporting to QA?
    pl help.
Also If any modification is required in the existing system then I should do it in Dev right?
Also to monitor the data load I need to log on to Prod system , Am I right?
    Pl help
    Thanks
    KK

    Hi,
You should always do any development/changes in Dev.
If you need to prototype something you should do that in your sandbox client and then replicate the same in Dev.
After you finish the development/changes you should unit test it in Dev to make sure the functionality/changes work as they are suppossed to. You should get the test results reviewed and signed off and then release the transport. You should then migrate that to the QA system and do end to end testing, meaning check out all apsects from data loading to running the changed/developed report for example. You should let the end user/technical owner(as the case maybe depending on backedn or front end changes/development) either test the changes in QA with appropriate data. Once they sign off you can go ahead and migrate the changes to Prod.
For job monitoring , you'll directly goto Prod .
    Cheers,
    Kedar

  • What are end user tools in BEx suite?

    Hi,
I have following doubts in reporting..Can any one pls help me?
(i).What BI content do we need to install (or activate) to view the result of the query in Web Report and Excel Report form?
I understand that once the query is designed, it can be executed in BEx analyzer and we save it as workbook..then what is the purpose of BI content u201CWorkbooku201D that is available in BI content?
(ii).Is BI portal same as Netweaver Portal? When end user tries to view the reports from the portal on clicking link, from where the data will be retrieved (I mean either from BEx web Analyzer or Web Application Designer or from anywhere else?
(iii). In the complete tool set of BEx, what are the developer tools and what are the end user tools? I understand that Query Designer and BEx Analyzer are both end user & Developer tools and the remaining are only Developer tools.
Please provide the clarifications to the above queries..I am always confused with these.
    Regards
    Sharif.

    Hi,
Please try to break the questions into different threads.
i).What BI content do we need to install (or activate) to view the result of the query in Web Report and Excel Report form?
I understand that once the query is designed, it can be executed in BEx analyzer and we save it as workbook..then what is the purpose of BI content u201CWorkbooku201D that is available in BI content?
-> This WorkBook provides information for the BI Technical Content and is used by admin, where workbooks with queries designed by the customer are genrally targetted to the end user and contain information about the company.
(ii).Is BI portal same as Netweaver Portal? When end user tries to view the reports from the portal on clicking link, from where the data will be retrieved (I mean either from BEx web Analyzer or Web Application Designer or from anywhere else?
-> The BI portal is based on the Netweaver Portal. It simply has BI content & roles activated.
(iii). In the complete tool set of BEx, what are the developer tools and what are the end user tools? I understand that Query Designer and BEx Analyzer are both end user & Developer tools and the remaining are only Developer tools.
-> Additional developer tools are Web Application Designer & Report Designer.

    About Brilig
The online advertising industry is in the midst of a disruptive transition from untargeted ad 'space' buys to sophisticated targeted 'audience' buys. While there are many different kinds of data that can be used individually to target consumers, there is currently no way to combine them to get a complete view of a unique consumer.
The problem is compounded by the fact that audience data exists in different forms, in thousands (maybe millions) of unconnected databases. Brilig is in the business of weaving online audience information together from any data source, wherever it is located. Our service provides a seamless way for publishers (audience sellers) to make their segments available for sale to the open market. Using Brilig, marketers, agencies and behavioral targeters (audience buyers) can access, analyze and combine these audience segments to find lift hidden within the intersection of them and transfer that lift to their online advertising campaigns.

  • Test Driven Development...

    Hi,
I'd like to hear some pro's and con's about this Test Driven
Development methodology. Have anyone of you in this forum been
using this technique for your unit tesing? If so, please share the
    experiences.
    http://www.fusionauthority.com/Techniques/Article.cfm/ArticleID:4560
    Thanks in advance!

Well doing iterative development is a good thing in general.
There's no way the customer is ever going to determine all the
things they want up front... so I've found keeping projects broken
down into as smallest phases as possible makes it easier to predict
target dates, and then at the same time you code a bit... test,
catch technical issues as well as functionality/workflow... so by
the end of development the end user/customer has what they want,
and your code is fort knox tested.

  • Usability of Connection Managers and Packages across different development users

    Hi All,
I am new to SSIS. Currently we are doing the development in SSIS 2012 using the SQL Server Data Tools and there are two different Windows users who login to the server to work on SQL Server Data Tools.
We have created one SSIS project and under that project we have created two different OLE DB Connection Managers to connect to the same database. We had to create two different Connection Managers as the Windows users were not able to connect to the DB using
the connection manager created by the other user and users are also not able to execute packages created by the other user. The packages were developed with Protection Level set as "EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey".
Now at the end of development and before moving onto the testing phase, we have to integrate the packages that should run on a single Connection Manager. The Windows user should be able to run the SSIS packages using a single connection manager and also
be able to execute the packages created by the other user.
My question may sound silly. But since I am relatively new to SSIS, I need your help on above and also the steps for configuration and settings for deployment.
    Thanks in advance!
    Abhishek

    Hi Abhishek,
If I understand correctly, a Windows user cannot be able to connect to the DB using the connection manager created by the other user and the user also cannot be able to execute packages created by the other user when the packages were developed with Protection
    Level set as "EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey".
This behavior is by design. In an Integration Services package, the following information is defined as sensitive:
The password part of a connection string.
The task-generated XML nodes that are tagged as sensitive.
Any variable that is marked as sensitive.
EncryptSensitiveWithUserKey uses a key that is based on the current user profile to encrypt only the values of sensitive properties in the package. Only the same user who uses the same profile can load the package. If a different user opens the package, the
sensitive information is replaced with blanks and the current user must provide new values for the sensitive data.
To work around this issue, please refer to the following suggestions:
If your issue is only related to the connection manager, we can use Windows Authentication log on the DB server. Then the other uses can still access to the DB and execute the package.
Change the SSIS Package ProtectionLevel property to EncryptSensitiveWithPassword. This setting uses a password for encryption. To open the package in SSIS Designer (SSDT), the user must provide the package password.
Use SSIS Package configuration files to store sensitive information, and then store these configuration files in a secured folder. You can then change the ProtectionLevel property to DontSaveSensitive so that the package is not encrypted and does not try
to save secrets to the package. When you run the SSIS package, the required information is loaded from the configuration file. Make sure that the configuration files are adequately protected if they contain sensitive information.

  • Looking for some development advice...

    Platform
    Oracle Database Enterprise Edition, 10.2.0.4
    Windows Server 2003 R2
    Development Framework
Front-End is written in PHP which interfaces with Oracle packages.
    Application Category
    Data Mart / Ad-Hoc Reporting
    Problem at Hand
I'm responsible for the development of the PL/SQL interface to a data mart. The application is used to present charts of various complexities to the end users. The database been designed using the snowflake / star schema design methodology. The design effectively has one fact table with approximately 5 dimensions.
Ideally I wanted to pre-compute all the necessary measures and store them in a materialized view (a.k.a. "summary tables") for very quick response time to the user, using the GROUPING SETS, and ROLLUP extensions to the GROUP BY clause. However, there is a requirement which allows a user to exclude fact records (based on particular dimension values). This means I cannot pre-compute the measures, unless I'm missing something.
I am open to options, but I feel my only way out is to generate the SQL dynamically and return a REF CURSOR to the client. Almost everything is subject to change as far as an SQL statement is concerned. The SELECT list depends on the report and the columns chosen. Same goes for joining dimensions to the fact table, as well as an expected dynamic WHERE clause.
If that is the case do any of you have lessons learned with taking this approach? My concerns are (in no particular order):
    1. Modularity
    2. Maintainability
    3. Performance
With a dynamic SQL approach and no ability to pre-compute values performance may or may not become an issue as I can only index base objects.
Maintainability and modularity are my biggest concerns. I want to code in such a way that it at least has a fighting chance of being maintainable for me or any successor. Normally I would try and consolidate common functionality into re-usable modules, but this seems like a difficult approach in this scenario. The reason being that at some point later in time a change to one report may not happen on another and this 're-usable' module would have to be split up. On the other side of the coin I could develop each report without consideration for others. The problem with this approach is that if I have to make a change, it may affect more than one report and it leaves an opportunity for bugs to creep up.
Basically, just throwing this out to you all to see if there was something glaring I missed, any passed lessons learned, or if I have to trudge along with what I have now.
    Thanks!

    Centinul,
First, let me confess that I am not trying to come as an expert here, so apologies if some of this is irrelevent or wrong.
After reading your OP, I remembered my early days in IT. Basically, I started my career in IT as a front-end programmer,
developing customized applications. During those days, I have, more than often, seen demands, either from customer or
from so-called "project managers", about a DYNAMIC reporting systems which can be used in any way desired.
Now, the idea initially sounds very attractive and I used to be very much disappointed at that time that I did not have
skills to build such a reporting tool. Basically, some people demand it because they are used to doing all sorts of "magical"
things with tools like MS EXCEL or because they had heard of some commerical reporting product that does "amazing" things. When I use dynamic, it's kind of loose in definition. However, I am DEFINITELY trying to weed out the "need" versus "want" in terms of requirements :)
Long story short. Have you decided TO BUILD this reporting application AFTER carefully reviewing following things?
    a) Expectations of customer/management from the reporting systemI'm trying my best to do that. Unfortunately the customers (unknowingly) like to participate in a rapid prototyping process which I dislike.
    b) Based on expectations, the budget available (I know this might sound off the track but not so much in my experience)They are aware.
    c) more importantly, are there no commercial products in market which you can just buy ? There can be 2 answers to this
question. Either there are no commercial products on market that can satisfy the requirement OR there are products
available but they are too "expensive". In either case, it would help a lot to keep all stakeholders aware of WHY & HOW
have you arrived at the decision of building a reporting system.I'm trying to explore all options that I can. However, it is not as easy as a client/server architecture. The customers are located in geographically different locations and hence they need this information via the Web. In addition I have unique constraints when it comes to purchasing other products, especially when it means getting a new vendor involved. In most cases it's easier to work with what we have.
I have taken a brief look at Oracle's OLAP / Analytic Workspace functionality, but I haven't been able to find a way to easily remove "branches" from the hierarchy and retrieve aggregate results from the next level up. I could be missing something though.
Now, some technical (finally :) ) questions.
    1) You said you wanted to use materialized views in order to speed up the process of generating results. Does it mean you
expect to have millions (or billions) of records in your fact table and hence on-demand grouping or aggregating will not
meet reporting SLAs?Millions of records are expected to be there. However, the frequency of load is very low (as in once a year, twice a year) so I wanted to create materialized views to pre-compute all the aggregates I need to make access fast. However, if I can't even get a static SQL statement then this option is out the window.
    2) Looking at the example that you have given, it seems (to me) there is no alternative but using dynamic SQL.That's what I was afraid of. If that is the case does anyone recommend any best practices?
    3) Will the application not have any pre-defined reports ? Will the users be given free-hand to select any of the combination
of 5 dimensions? That sounds a bit too flexible but what do I know. :)All the reports are predefined dealing with usually no more than four dimensions at a time. One dimension will be displayed on the final report with the measures, and the others are typically used to filter out the final results. From a simplicity perspective I could assume there would be a selection for ALL filtering dimensions EVERY time which means I could have a STATIC JOIN clause. However, there is an equal possibility that the user WILL NOT filter upon any particular dimension and therefore I don't want to include a JOIN to another table that is not even being used as this may hamper performance.
However one of these filtering dimensions is very similar to the hierarchy example I gave in a previous post. This is where a user wants to be able to exclude "branches" of a dimension but obtain aggregates at a higher level.
Another requirement is that some of the aggregates are sums, averages, regressions of individual measures. Therefore another layer of complexity is introduced which needs to manage a dynamic SELECT list.
    4) Most importantly, how much maintenance window will be available to load data in this DWH? Does the reporting system
SLAs exclude this maintenance window or is reporting system expected to be available 24x7?See #1
That's probably all I can think of at this stage but this thread is interesting. I will keep an eye on this to see what you decide
finally and what was your thought processThanks for taking an interest and I hope it makes sense.

  • How to measure performance of supplier when using scheduling agreement ?

    Hello all,
My client has an absolute need to be able to measure the performance of its suppliers based on delivery dates and delivered quantities. That is to say he needs to be able to compare what dates and quantities were asked to what has been really delivered.
Most of the procurement processes used are based on scheduling agreements : schedule lines are generated by MRP and forecast is sent to supplier while firm requirements are sent through JIT calls.
It seems that when doing GR in MIGO, it is done against the outline agreement number, and not against the call. Therefore, we have no way to compare dates and quantity with what was expected (in the JIT call).
Do you know if SAP proposes a standard solution to this, and what could be a solution to this issue ?
    Thanks for your help
    E. Vallez

    Hi,
My client faced the same problem and we ended up developing an own analysis in LIS. Since the GR is not linked to specific schedule line (SAP does some kind of apportioning, but it doesn't have to correlate to the correct match), one needs to do assumptions. Our assumption was the closest schedule line, i.e. each GR is related to the schedule line with the closest date. Then all GR the same day are totaled together before the quantity reliability is calculated, since the very same shipment can be reported through several GR transactions in SAP (one per pallet).
If anybody has info about what SAP has to offer in this question (or is developing), please tell us!

  • Multiple users accessing the same data in a global temp table

I have a global temp table (GTT) defined with 'on commit preserve rows'. This table is accessed via a web page using ASP.NET. The application was designed so that every one that accessed the web page could only see their data in the GTT.
We have just realized that the GTT doesn't appear to be empty as new web users use the application. I believe it has something to do with how ASP is connecting to the database. I only see one entry in the V$SESSION view even when multiple users are using the web page. I believe this single V$SESSION entry is causing only one GTT to be available at a time. Each user is inserting into / selecting out of the same GTT and their results are wrong.
I'm the back end Oracle developer at this place and I'm having difficulty translating this issue to the front end ASP team. When this web page is accessed, I need it to start a new session, not reuse an existing session. I want to keep the same connection, but just start a new session... Now I'm losing it.. Like I said, I'm the back end guy and all this web/connection/pooling front end stuff is magic to me.
The GTT isn't going to work unless we get new sessions. How do we do this?
    Thanks!

  • Using Flex 2 for dynamic creation of a Flex 2 application at runtime

We're looking to replace our existing end-user development
environment and believe Flex 2 may be able to satisfy our
requirements. However, without spending a month trialing the
product I thought some existing user(s) could suggest (based on
personal experience) whether we'd be straining Flex 2 in expecting
it to be able to provide dynamic runtine generation and execution
of an application based on the meta-data associated with each
component. The generation of each component includes automatic form
and code generation, with end-user tailoring facilities to maintain
the meta-data (tabs, fields (visibility, location, business rules,
actions, validation etc.), display format, drill-down, work-flow
etc.), for use in the next instantiation of each conponent.

I know of at least one of our customers (not sure if I can
say which) is doing this. They use Flex to compose MXML files and
then send that to a server. The server than compiles that into a
    SWF.
So it is possible, just a lot of work.

  • Strange behavior when searching a phrase using reg exp and dynamic sql

    Hi,
I have a strange issue while using dynamic sql for an apex page. I have a requirement to search a string in the database column which is entered by user on a page item. The search process should search the whole phrase only.
I have a query generated dynamically in the back end and use it in a cursor in the stored procedure
      SELECT t.group_cn , t.group_desc, t.group_type, t.partner_organization_id, t.partner_organization
FROM vr_idm_group t WHERE regexp_like(t.group_desc,'(^|\W)HR Selection & Assignment(\W|$)', 'i')The pl sql code with the dynamic sql statements are below.
IF p_search_process NOT in ('PARTNER') THEN
          OPEN v_cursor FOR v_sql;
       ELSE
          OPEN v_cursor FOR v_sql USING p_search_id;
       END IF;
       LOOP
          FETCH v_cursor INTo v_obj.group_cn, v_obj.group_desc, v_obj.group_type, v_obj.partner_organization_id,
             v_obj.partner_organization, v_obj.match_count;
          EXIT WHEN v_cursor%NOTFOUND ;
          v_search_array.extend;
          v_search_array(v_search_array.last) := v_obj;
          dbms_output.put_line(v_sql);
END LOOP;The search works fine if the search string does not contain any special character like &,- etc.
However, if the search string contains any special character, it does not return any thing. This strange issue happens only if I call the procedure from the apex page and the search string contains a special character. (please note that the procedure works fine even from apex if the string does not have a special character). When I debugged this, found that, the cursor does not fetch any rows (it is supposed to fetch two rows) for unknown reason. When I run the query separately, it returns the two rows (in which the column group_desc contains the search string "HR Selection & Assignment") as desired. Also, when I test the procedure in the back end (PLSQL developer), it works fine.
Any idea, what is causing this strange behaviour?
    Advance thanks.
    Regards,

    i don't see anything about a dataProvider.  you're assigning a source for a scrollpane.  scrollpane's don't have a dataProvider property.
anyway, other than arrayRun always being false when that last if-statement executes, what's the problem?  doesn't that movieclip display when that 2nd branch of the last if-statement executes (assuming instance is defined correctly etc)?

  • ChaRM Allowing Multiple Users in the Same CD to be in Edit Mode

We have upgraded to ChaRM 7.1 but are still using CRMD_ORDER and Transaction Monitor CRM_DNO_MONITOR.  When the Developer completes her change, populates the Current Processor with the Change Manager and clicks Save she keeps the CD open in Edit Mode.  The Change Manager is able to open the same CD and click Edit without any warning on the bottom of the window saying it is being processed by another user.
When there is a hand off to the next Current Processor, both the previous and current user are able to be in edit mode.  I don't recall this being allowed before.  Has this changed with 7.1?

Thanks! You may want to try changing your GTT to 'ON COMMIT DELETE ROWS' and have the .Net app use a transaction object.
We had a similar problem and I found help in the following thread:
