  • Where can I find an end of life schedule for Mac OS's?

I am looking for a schedule of the end of life schedule for Mac OS's. I have been scouring around and have not found a list yet.

There's not really an "end of life" for an OS. It's really more of a factor of the Mac hardware being able to run an OS. Many Mac users are still using OS 9 as their only OS. OS 9 gradually began to be phased out about 10+ years ago. New Macs of that era could boot OS 9.x or boot OS X, and run OS 9 applications in classic mode. Then, later Macs could only run OS 9 apps in classic mode while booted in OS X. Later, Macs could no longer run classic mode. Today, only Macs with an Intel processor can run Snow Leopard 10.6.
Another end of life factor is browsers. Many browser versions for OS 10.3 & below, don't work on may sites due to Java, Flash, security requirements.

    Hello,
Yes you can use nsAccountLock directly (When nsAccountLock=true, the object is inactivated and the user cannot log in)
This is documented in Modifying Directory Server’s NsAccountLockAttribute Directly (Sun Java System Directory Server Enterprise Edition 6.2 In…  (release number is old but it does not matter, Thats the first one Ive found)
You can also use dsutil account-inactivate as described in dsutil - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.7.0)

  • End of life status for JDK 1.1.8

I am currently using JDK 1.1.8-003, but I notice from the Sun website that they have begun the end of life process for this product and they will not be supporting it beyond October 09 2002.
I should be grateful for advice on which newer version of Sun Java I should download for future use.
Also, if I store the old and new versions in seperate folders am I likely to get a conflict between the two? Would my existing programs compile and run on the new version?
    Thanks in anticipation Stankingston..

Same thing will happen to me, still using JDK 1.1.8.
Sure we have to look for new versions. I am sure that not all
existing programs will run under new versions. Same thing
happened when JDK 1.0 ran out. So several methods now
are deprecated. This is moving on...........
Look for the most suitable kits. It's your decision depending
of what you want to do in the future developing java programs.

  • End of life cycle for BOXI 3.1 SP3

    Hi all,
Could you please help know about End of life cycle for BOXI 3.1 (SP3)
    Thanks

Just for future reference as well, the information can be found here:
    https://service.sap.com/pam
Also, you may be required to put on a newer service pack to maintain support.  For example, if SP6 is released then I believe you'll either need to have SP6 or SP5 for support.

  • Date for Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse?

Is there a date for Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse for Eclipse 3.4?

There isn't any activation or a Oracle specific perspective. If the installation was successful you should see the following features:
    - In Server view, New > Server
    >> "BEA Systems, Inc." node with a list of WLS version support (Older version)
    >> "Oracle" node, with "Oracle WebLogic Server v10.3" support
    - Switch to Database Development perspective
    >> right click on Databases > New - You should see "Oracle Database Connection"
    - Help > Help Contents - "Oracle Enterprise pack for Eclipse" contains the documentation for all the features.

  • 4.5 portal end of life date?

When was/is the Plumtree Corporate Portal 4.5WS end of life date?

  • We are in urgent need of the end of support date for Firefox 3.6. I have been unable to find this information anywhere. Can someone please provide the date, or a link to the location on the Mozilla web site for lifecycle dates?

We are currently supporting an older application which will no longer be patched for future browser releases. We need the end of support date, so we can plan accordingly. Any assistance is truly appreciated.

Hi Tony, and thanks for the reply. I was hoping that might be the case.
Does Mozilla not publish lifecycle dates for Firefox? The reason I am inquiring further, is that our intention is to have upgraded the product we are currently running by late August of next year. I was trying to determine if 3.6 would be supported through August of 2012. I probably should have been more specific with my initial post.

  • I support a very large school district currently running Firefox 3.6. What will happen at end of life date? We're in the middle of online testing this week.

I run the test center for a very large school district with over 120k students. We've got a current deployed base of 54k client machines using Firefox 3.6. We haven't upgraded due to multiple reasons, the most important of which is removing the possibility of using In Private Browsing from the students, and dealing with plugin-updates for the non digital natives (read dumber than a bag of hammers users) that make up the majority of the client base.
We're testing ESR now, but just found out that end of life for 3.6 is tomorrow, 4/24. We are currently in the middle of statewide online testing. The question is, what will happen tomorrow when the browser goes end of life. The ESR wiki mentions that "an update to the current version of Desktop Firefox will be offered through the Application Update Service"
So the main question is, are my students/teachers going to get a popup telling them they have to update the browser if we have the updates already turned off? If so, can I turn it off remotely using SCCM, because it will cause all kinds of havoc.
Please advise asap, and thanks in advance.

We had to do some serious gymnastics to remove at least most of the ability to use IPB. We removed it from the gui, but unfortunately, if they know the hotkey, they can still bring it up. Security has some serious headaches with this, as by law they have to be able to track where students go, and going with private browsing removes their ability to do forensic work they're required to be able to do. Not a very well thought out feature from Mozilla in my opinion, but it is what it is. Successive versions have made it even more difficult to remove even the gui portion.
We do plan to release ESR due to the aforementioned security issues, but testing has been slow.
But thanks for the reply. I think we can turn off the updates if it isn't already done.

  • Sample data for oracle 10.1.0.4

    Hi,
On the companion cd samplel data are avialable for oracle 10g 10.1.0.2.
I've upgraded the database to 10.1.0.4. Setup fails now.
Two questions: can I install in a new oracle home?
Are sample data available for 10.1.0.4?
(I'm only interested in the odm sample data)
Thanks in advance for any reaction.
    Leo

For the first question, you cannot install the companion CD to a new oracle home which is different from the database home.
Second, sample programs are in companion CD which is shipped with 10.1.0.2 base release. For a patch release, Oracle does not ship a companion CD. You can go to $ORACLE_HOME/demo directory to check whether you have installed any sample programs previously.
If the database was upgraded from a 9.2.0.X release, you may want to upgrade it to 10.1.0.2 release first and install the companion CD at 10.1.0.2 level. You can upgrade it to 10.1.0.4 afterwards.
