End of presentation

At the end of my Captivate presentation, I would like the user to click on a button to exit the presentation and return to their previous application or desktop.  How is this done?  I don't see an action for 'on exit' that will work.  Please advise, thanks.

  • Long running reports end successfully - present s "page can not be found"

Long running reports and browser timeouts - page can not be found"
We are launching Oracle 9i Reports from a Portal 9ias (release 9.0.2.2) system. We are in production with about 100 users. It is not going well with respect to Report problems.
    We have the following problems:
    1) hanging reports,
    2) reports where parameter screens will not present due to large LOV on parameter screen,
    3) and the most aggravating problem is "Page can not be found" presented to user when in fact the report ran successfully and create a .pdf.
We are at our wits end with Oracle Support and the Oracle Portal and Reports product.
As I said, I am launching Oracle Reports 9i from a Portal 9.0.2.2 application. I have several long running reports that complete successfully but return to the user an error "Page can not be found". Meta-link Note: 189454.1 suggests a modification to ReceiveTimeout parameter in the pc registry. We set the ReceiveTimeout parameter to 7200000. This did not solve the problem. Users still receive "Page can not be found".
Is there a report server side setting that we must set also ... or some other setting we should check?
I need to solve this issue. Is there someone out there that can help? Are there other people having similar Oracle Reports issues? According to Oracle Support we are the only people with these issues. Are we?

    1) If you can reproduce the Reports Hanging issue consistently you can push Oracle Support to file a bug.
    2) I am not sure about this now, but again you can take this to Oracle Support and push for resolution.
    3) There are some problems with IE - Adobe integration. This is not a Reports bug. You can try
    (a) Switching off Adobe - web integration in Adobe Acrobat reader settings, so that Adobe will not automatically open pdf file in web. Instead a dialog will be shown as to which application to open the pdf file or save it to disk and user can save the file to disk and open.
    (b) Use IE latest version. (or some other browser like Netscape )
[ You can roll back the ReceiveTimeout param change you made to see the impacts one at a time ]
    1) To confirm that this is a Adobe - IE pdf problem run the same report to htmlcss, rtf. If these come fine, then we can ascertain that this is Adobe - IE issue.
    2) Give http://host:port/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=server_name. You can see all the jobs and their jobids. For the concerned jobs you can click and see whether output is actually generated or not.

  • Making a button end a presentation

Our company has an LMS set up to handle all of our Captivate projects, but I'm having issues with getting back to the LMS once the lesson is over in Captivate. Is there a function you can assign to a button that closes the presentation and goes back to the LMS?

    Hi there
The best you can do is to configure your presentation to close when it completes. If you need a button to close it, insert a slide at the very end. Time that slide super short. Perhaps .1 seconds. Then program the button to jump to the last slide.
The net result should be that the user clicks the button, the last slide is visited and if it can, the presentation closes. And there lies the rub! Depending on how the presentation was opened to begin with, it may not just close.
Unfortunately that's an issue with the way browsers work (or don't) and it's not only browser dependent, but browser version dependent!

  • Jump to new Keynote File at the end of Presentation

Apologies if this topic has been discussed, in the 11th hour for a solve. Is it possible to trigger a new keynote file at the end of my first Keynote file?
I know this can be triggered via "enable link" in the inspector on an object. I am wanting to run Keynote presentation "A" with an apple remote, then the last slide of Keynote A triggers new Keynote File "B".
possible? yes, I know I could just tail them together in one keynote file but that is not what I need to do. I need presenter B to be able to work independently until the last minute before the show and I just want to link to their file.
Thanks in advance for any solved or helpful answers.

    Hi David,
There's no way to make the last slide force a different presentation to open on its own, but you can set up the slide so that it has a link to an external presentation. Make sense?
Select the item on the slide you'd like to link from. In the Hyperlink Inspector, select "Enable as a hyperlink," and in the drop-down menu, select "Keynote File."
Now all you have to do is click on that element when you're running the slideshow, and your other presentation will automatically open.
    Hope that helps!

  • Creative Cloud notification ends keynote presentation

    Hi,
Has anyone had this occur: in the middle of a keynote presentation, and then have it terminated by a creative cloud login notification? While I wasn't presenting publicly when this happened, I've now had to make sure that I quit Creative Cloud before presenting so that it can never do this again.
    Bug?

Since your end result is PowerPoint, you should ask Microsoft how to use PowerPoint to import your pictures

  • Email at end of presentation

Is it possible to have Captivate send you an email anytime a software simulation has been watched - and also can you automatically insert a subject line?

Yes you can, and its rather easy but you need to rely on a 3rd party widget.
Get the Web Page Widget http://captivatedev.com/2012/08/07/adobe-captivate-6-x-widget-web-page-widget/
Create a form on web page that dynamically populates based off the URL eg finished.php?info=Whatever&info2=Whatevermore
Then with a little javascript the form will automatically send on load with the information in the form automatically filled out.
I've got a setup using this method and it works great. Took about 20 minutes to setup.

  • Background job output to Presentation server

    Hi,
I am executing report as Background job.
after job gets completed output should be in excel format in front end or presentation server.

    Hi,
We cannot perform any action on the presentation server in a program that is being execcuted in background. What you can do is to write the output on to the app server, and after wards move the file on to the Pres. server using CG3Y transaction.

  • Customize Adobe Presenter presentation with satisfaction evaluation on exit

I need to find an easy way to modify and customize (lots of) Adobe Presenter Powerpoint presentations,
such that it is possible to start a satisfaction evaluation in the end and when aborting/exiting the presentation.
The Powerpoint presentation will be will be deployed in Adobe Connect and must be supporting its proprietary tracking mechanisms.
I need to integrate with Adobe Presenter Powerpoint presentation and find out the current slide number and total number of slides.
One idea is to create and embed home-made flash as a swf-file into the Powerpoint presentation.
Inside this swf-file it should be possible to track slide event/information using ActionScript.
Inside this swf-file, I will use ExternalInterface javascript api to do changes to the html document,
the adobe presenter Powerpoint presentation embedded in by Adobe Connect.
How is this possible. Please provide any API information and/or code example.
Alternative is to inject javascript from home-made swf-file, such that the injected javascript can track current slide,
total number of slides, and end of presentation by accessing the presenter flash/movie object.
I will be using Adobe Connect 8, Adobe Presenter 8 and Flash Professional CS6.

    Thanks for response.
Can you please try following things. :-
    1) Publish the Presentation locally on your system. Go to Published folder. Please see the screen shot to know where your presentation is getting published.:-
In publish folder "viewer.swf" file exist. Observe behavior of Viewer.swf. Is it alos behave same.
    2) Verify that Cache folder size is not too big....that slower the browser. And delete the temporary internet files.
    3) Publish simple content slide without swf/video. Are these presentations playing fine?
    4) Please check if you have utility that taking backup quitely or some processes that taking lot of time.Check Task Manager performance tab and check for these background  processes. And observe how is overall performance of this computer.

  • IPad Keynote presentation via airplay - how do you zoom in

When playing a Keynote presentation on ipad to a monitor via airplay, how do you zoom into a slide? The "expand/pinch" 2-finger method just ends the presentation.

My guess is that the presenters were using the "Action" function in the build option inside inspector, there are options called "actions" where you can rescale an image larger or smaller.
There is also a slide transition called "magic move" which would allow the same image on two slides to alter as an action build (such as scaling) while transitioning from one slide to the next.

  • Adobe presenter 10 corrupting color and shapes

Hi, I'm using Adobe Presenter 10 with Powerpoint 2007 on Windows 8 PC.
When publishing a presentation in either SWF or HTML5 to Adobe Connect Pro server all the grouped shapes and colors are corrupting.
All the elements are turned to light blue fill with black borders.
This effect happens at the powerpoint end as Presenter goes through creating files part of the publishing process.
I can see the corrupting happening on screen.
Any tips on what might be causing this?
I was previously using Adobe Presenter 7 with Powerpoint 2007 on Windows 8 PC with no issues.
    Thanks,
    Meg

  • Is there any Adobe Presenter 8 sdk / api available?

Is there any Adobe Presenter 8 sdk / api available?
I wasn't able to find any think on Adobe homepage.

    Thank you for the reply.
I need to interact with the content when it is "played/executed" in Adobe Connect.
I need to know which slide is currently shown, total number of slides and end of presentation information,
such that I can use ExternalInterface to do some stuff when terminating the presentation.

  • Actionscript / swf integration with Adobe Presenter

I need to do some Actionscript / swf integration with Adobe Presenter content.
Is there any way to access information about current slide nr., total number of slides and "end of presentation" information from swf(Actionscript 3.0) inserted into Adobe Presenter?
I am using Adobe Presenter 8 with Adobe Connect 8.

First, the best place is probably the Presenter forum, which somewhat curiously is under the Connect umbrella:
    http://forums.adobe.com/community/connectpro/connectpro_presenter
Out of curiousity, why are you using AICC? Because the content is on a different domain?
To the point, it's great to have a logging or debugging tool for these sort of things to view the communication between the LMS and the lesson. Perhaps the lesson is sending the 'completed' status but also sending some other value that the LMS is using to change the status back to incomplete?
My first suggestion would be to try the lesson in a tool like TestTrack...but I don't think that handles AICC. Does the Saba LMS have any kind of debugger or logging tool you can use? You really need to see if the lesson is sending the status back to the LMS as you suspect it should. If it IS, then the issue lies with the LMS and how it's interpreting that result. If it's NOT, then you can then perhaps figure out what to adjust in the lesson.
In general, just play with the settings. If it's set to Complete/Incomplete and has a Mastery Score, try NOT setting the Mastery Score... And other such combinations.
I hope the folks in the Connect/Presenter forum can provide more insight.

  • Unable to close presentation

Maybe I'm unusually dense but I can't seem to find a way to
get the standalone file to close. I have used PowerPoint and guess
I expect this to be as easy!
I'm working with a trial version of Captivate 2.
I have added a "end this presentation" button to the last
screen and have linked it (using the Properties) to our internal
website. (There doesn't seem to be "end" option in that list.)
I published this as a standalone exe file. When we run the
presentation and click that button, the presentation minimizes on
the taskbar but does not close. If attempting to close from the
taskbar using a right click, it just opens again. Using the Escape
key doesn't work either. The only way to get it to stop running is
using a Ctrl-Alt-Delete and ending it from the task list.
Is this a known problem or am I missing something
    entirely?

Hi czimmelrn and welcome to our community
Normally the ESC key works to exit the EXE. Not sure what may
    be up with that.
However, I do see a fair amount of folks wanting to use a
button to exit the movie. I see all sorts of convoluted solutions
involving JavaScript and whatnot. But here's an easy solution that
should work. If you click Project > Preferences... > Start
and End tab, you can choose the option of "Close project" as the
project end action. From there, you simply insert a Button Object
that points to the last slide. The last slide is reached, the movie
    ends and the project closes.
    Cheers... Rick
