End of sequence/footage indicator ...again
Sorry to bring this up again but it continues to irritate me and I have never seen a single advocate for it ...or its reason for being.
Its is simply a confusion without any value that I can see.
Here is an example why.
I edit a TVC that requires absolute to the frame precision. (Duration)
At precisely 15 secs (00:00:15:00) the 15 sec commercial is required to be finished ( Black)
Here is what the sequence looks like: Note the Time codes and position of the CTI
Now..without moving the CTI...if I add a Black video Clip anywhere in the sequence ( ie.not even butted to the program) I get what I should be seeing at precisely 15 secs (00:00:15:00).

The Monitor needs to show exactly what the editor expects to see at the time in the sequence.

OK, I'll be the bad guy. No worries. An End of Sequence indicator shouldn't confuse folks, so please make a feature request to make it less so: http://adobe.ly/feature_request
BTW, most other NLEs have indicators for end of clip and end of sequence. They don't pull up the picture, however, so that's probably why they aren't as confusing.

Premiere Pro Cropping end of sequence
When I place a clip on the time line it gets cropped on its right side, if I place another clip then the first clip is fine but the last clip gets cropped on the right.
Am I missing something here? And yes if I render it appears in the final render.That's a feature referred to as the End of Sequence Indicator. Many people on these forums really really dislike it, so they were thrilled to learn that the impending update provides a way to disable it. For now, however, there's is no way to turn it off.
It does not, however get written to your encoded outputs. I'm guessing you think otherwise because you're bringing the clip back into Premiere to view it. Trust me, if you view the clip in another player, the EOS will not be there. -

i have a problem with safari . Whenever i am typing in the safari main bar , so in the halfway through the typing my sentence/words are shifting to another main google search and in the end i have to type again in google. I have attached a sample screenshot of the safari problem which i am facing. In this particular example i wanted to write Print Screen, however halfway,my typing automatically shifted to google bar?? can you guys help me.Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It won’t solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this test is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account. Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault in OS X 10.7 or later, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The "Guest User" login created by "Find My Mac" is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing. -

There is a world of information in these forums if you use the search function near the top right of this page. Just type in NAS for example and you get many threads on the subject (marked with a green checkmark if it solved the question) another example would be Airport Exterme and sound system. Once you formulate your ideas better then specific questions can be addressed one at a time. You may find that a less expensive choice for a server might be a mac mini. Good luck with your project, ask more specific questions and update you systems profile.

After Effects CC import "Sequence Footage" frame rate settings in "Import" preferences
Just started using the new AE CC (v12 as Adobe will not refer to it as) I noticed one thing that seems to work differently from CS6 and that is in the preferences for import Sequence footage settings. It doesn't seem to work normally, at least for me. I don't know if this is an issue related to how AE CC works with the cloud but the dfault frame rate for sequence footage importing is 30fps. I am trying to import footage that is natively 23.97 at 24 fps. So like in CS6 I go to Preferences - Import - Sequence Footage - frame per second and change it from 30 to 24 frames per second. Closed the software, opened it back up, checked the settings and saw that they took, it still says 24 frames per second like I told it. But when I import a piece of 23.976 footage, it comes in at 23.976 as opposed to the 24 fps I set it as. Same goes for 30 fps footage, it comes in at 30 fps and not 24. User error is always my first assumption, I'm not proud i just want it to work, am I doing something wrong or just confused? Thanks for any help. p.s. help is not someone responding with, "I don't know" or "I don't have AECC yet". I know somebody is going to!

WOW! Thanks for the super-fast reply! As soon as I posted this I realised I should have mentioned that I am importing DPX files. I do import quicktimes as well but know that the footage import does not apply to a single file, only a sequence of files. But I still wonder if I may be either doing something wrong or am just a little confused. I have been using After Effects since CS3 doing compositing for film and I always use DPX sequences. I did a bunch of comparing and back and forth with AE CS6 and AECC while trying to figure this out. I always set my preferences up when I upgrade before I start working and I always set them up the same. I have been using CS6 since last July and it still works the same. What I did is imported five or six different DPX sequences, some were rendered out as 24 fps, some at 30 and some at 23.976. Assuming AE looks at the metadata to decide how to auto interpret, AE CC opened them all at their native frame rates of the just mentioned 24, 30 and 23.976 respectively, even though I told it to import at 24fps in the preferences. I also imported the same files in AE CS6 and they all opened at 24 fps like always. I know I can change the frame rate in the "Interpret footage" option, that is what I have been doing today so that I can work with footage in 24fps but since I have it set in the preferences to import image sequences at 24fps, I am perplexed as to why it does not do so, so I do not have to interpret the footage to my preferred frame rate, as is the case in AE CS6 as well as it was in CS 5.5 and CS 3. Since I was lucky enough to have an Adobe employee chime in Tim, I would be curious to see what you may find if you recreated this scenario. Would it be possible for you or someone at Adobe to set the sequence footage import frame rate to 24 fps in the preferences then try to open a piece of footage that is natively 23.976 fps in both AE CS6 and AE CC? Like I said, I certainly beleive I may be doing something wrong but I would be very curious to see what you find on your side. I would not be suprised if it imported at 24 fps in AE CS6 and 23.976 fps in AE CC. -

When I close Firefox, the windows closes normally, but firefox.exe still appears in Processes in Task Manager. I have to End Process to open Firefox again, and it goes to Restore Last Session page.

If I try to re-open firefox normally I get a message that the program is still running and I need to go into task manager and manually kill the process.
I could also kill the process from the command prompt, but both of those methods are slow and annoying. This issue has only been occurring for the last 24 hours or so; to the best of my knowledge I haven't downloaded any new software or updated any plug-ins that would have caused a switch from firefox's normal awesomeness. Norton doesn't show any new viruses or other nastiness on my computer.
I'm running 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium edition. -
Premiere pro cc bug??? - timeline indicator goes beyond end of sequence...
Not sure if anyone else has come across this. But for some reason, in my premiere pro cc (2014.2) verison, my timeline indicator doesn't stop at the end of my sequence but goes a good distance beyond that. I zoomed in all the way and already verified that there are no video or audio clips where it stops.
The timeline needle should stop at 00;08;09;20 which is the end of my sequence.
But instead it stops at 00;08;14;51. No idea why:Not sure if anyone else has come across this. End of sequence lost when exporting

I have had the problem twice that after working on a sequence for a while it leaves out about ten seconds at the end when I export. The same sequence would have exported fine earlier on. I dont have any In and Out points, although I have tried this as well without success. I have used text on top of the image, and the audio files have been edited in Soundtrack Pro, but thats all the "fancy stuff" i have done. I have checked for blank spaces in between clips and dont have any.
Please help I have to submit something on Saturday and am feeling very unhappy ;-(
Very thankful for helpYUP! That's the problem. FCP doesn't work well with H.264. The biggest issues are sync issues, something you might not see until you export. The problem is that FCP SEEMS LIKE it'll work with that footage fine, it gives no warning. Apple fixed this with FCX, making it ask if you want to "optimize" the footage...meaning convert it to ProRes. FCP 7 and lower...didn't do that. Thus it lead you down a bad path.
If you have H.264 footage, you need to convert it to ProREs before you start editing. Yes, the file sizes will increase dramatically, but that's what you need to do in order to work properly. Working with highly compressed footage like H.264 is difficult, takes a lot of resources. Adobe does this by having you load lots of RAM and use a graphics card that enables a special acceleration engine. FCP 7 does not have this, so you need to convert.
The quick solution here is to go to the SEQUENCE menu and choose SETTINGS. In the COMPRESSOR menu there, click on H.264 and scroll up to Apple ProRes 422. Click OK. Render the sequence (this will render it as ProRes)...and then export. -
Timeline Starts Over at End of Sequence
I have altered a setting a somewhere in FCP 7 that causes the time line to immediately start over and play from the beginning when the end of a sequence is reached. How do you make FCP simply stop playback when it reaches the end of a sequence instead of looping it over and over again until it is manually stopped?

I thought it might be a compatibility issue with Windows Vista but the same problem happened on a computer with Windows 7. I'm not sure if the Windows 7 problem was resolved, though.
You probably have other problems but for a start right click on your task bar and click on Start Task Manager. In "Applications" if Firefox is shown, click on "End Task". In "Processes" if Firefox.exe is shown, click on "End Process" and ignore the warning and click"End Process" again. Wait for a few seconds then start Firefox in the usual way. There is a chance that this may solve your problems.
If not, you probably will need to do a complete uninstall and re-install. If you can't start Firefox you could try starting in Safe Mode - Hold down Shift key as you double click on the Firefox icon>ignore the page that opens>and Continue. If you've been able to open Firefox you could work through this Troubleshooting Procedure -

I found a bunch of threads about sequence settings but nothing that helped me with my problem.
I created a project and must have accidentally picket the wrong sequence setting. (Newbie) When I export the final product,
my footage now has a black bar on to and bottom which my original AVIs do not have.
I have not found a way to change this. If I choose one of the original AVIs to "create a sequence from file" it will
create a new, good project, but all my other editing will be thrown out, including the audio snippets and everything else.
Am I really stuck and need to start from scratch?
ThanksIf you are on CC, look at the settings of your good sequence and change the faulty sequence to match. This is done in the sequence settings menu. If you are on CS6 copy and paste your clips to the correct sequence.

Playback jumping to beginning after reaching end of sequence
When playing a sequence, when the cursor gets to the end it now jumps to the very beginning of the sequence. It didn't used to do that, so some sort of option must have been turned on. How can I turn that option off?

I had a similar problem recently and using the "more like this" feature I discovered an answer. To a problem posed by Holo7, who like myself was a newbie on this platform, b noir proposed a solution to Holo7's problem that also worked with my problem. It involves downloading a version of MS Windows Instal Cleanup and using it to completely remove all traces of the old version.
If you look at my problem (follow OldGit66) and the link to Holo7's problem then you will find b noir's answer which I think may help you. I am new around here so you might want to wait for one of the higher status correspondents.

Printing failed results, not Begin and End of Sequence.

Using TestStand 2.0
I am using a ticket printer to show test failures.
I have added a print line into the process sequence and formated the header with no problems, changing reportgen_txt.
The "report options" are set to ASCii format and to exclude Passed/Done/Skipped results.
The ticket prints nicely. But it shows every sequence call with a:-
Begin Sequence: 1
(C:\Sequence Name)
End Sequence: 1
I have 67 sequences, this is a lot of wasted paper.
Does anyone know of an expresion that I can add into "Report Options" to remove this sequence info?
Or is there another way of doing what I want?

I found myself into a similar situation when I needed to create my own customized report.
What you need to do is modify the reportgen_txt.seq sequence file. Go the sequence called AddSequenceResultToReport. The steps called AddSequenceName and AddSequenceEndMarker add the "Begin Sequence..." and "End Sequence" labels. You can modify or delete these steps.
For anyone using the HTML report, you can modify the reportgen_html.seq. The sequence and step names are the same.
