End of streaming audio clipped off

We have a long (nearly 15,000 frame) timeline with several different mp3 audio clips placed at various points with some animation. The audio is set to stream.
In some places the last littlest bit of audio is getting clipped off when playedback. The audio is there and I hear it when scrubbing the timeline. But in the published swf it will just cut off the last letter or so of the final word.
We've had this problem occasionally over the years and haven't figured out what causes it. We have taken the following steps. Including a 100 or so milliseconds of silence at the end of the mp3 and adding several extra frames beyond the end of the waveform. But the problem continues.
Sometimes the problem seems to only happen on some computers and no others. Which makes it really hard to diagnos.
Any ideas?

If I select the sound on the timeline and go into edit sound envelope it shows the wave form going a bit beyond the end into the grey. And I can't drag the little ending marker further to the right. Audio that I'm not having the problem with (in a different project) shows the waveform completely in the white.

Audio Clip Fades

I have a 6-second mp3 audio clip that I added to the audio that came with a 50-second mov video track, all of which I'm editing in Photoshop CS6. The last few seconds of the audio fade to quiet. I've double-checked its settings and there is no fade (0 sec) set for the audio clip. When played by itself, the audio clip is loud throughout.
Any idea why Photoshop fades the end of my audio clip when I play the psd video as well as when I render it?

We know nothing about your system, your render settings, what tool you use to view your clips/ listen to the audio and a gigazillion otehr things. For all we know, this could be some auto-fade in your player.

Extend duration of audio clip ...

An audio clip (music bed) automatically sets it's duration based on the duration of the project. My project is 18 seconds. The clip is just shy of one minute. Point is I know I have handles at the end of the audio clip to extend it's duration so that it continues to play for a few seconds after the last frame of the last clip in the project.
How do I manually extend the duration of the audio clip?

Continuous audio clips between slides

how do you make the same song play for 2-3 slides? i know you can add a song to the entire presentation but i want to have that specific clip for only 3 slides. Also, is there a way to make a smooth transition (ie: sound fading out and into the next sound clip with each slide change) between slides and different songs??

Greetings and welcome to the Forum.
The only way to accomplish what you want (within Keynote) is to create a new audio track from your audio "clips" off-line (for example in Garage Band) cross-fading between them.
Next, create a "sub-set" presentation, containing only the slides that will be associated with this audio track.
Then, import this track as a Soundtrack for the "sub-set" presentation.
Now, Record the Builds and Transitions for each slide in sync with the audio track.
Finally, link each of these "sub-set" presentations together via Hyperlinks.
Yes, it is cumbersome, but the ability to deal with audio is severely limited in Keynote.
You also can use other off-line programs to create audio-with-visual segments and then import these into Keynote. But that's a whole other story ...

Audio cutting off at the end of audio clips w no change in waveform?

Audio cuts off right at the end of some of my clips... I can still see the waveforms that have the full audio on them, but no audio plays for those last two or three seconds! My audio level is the same throughout the clip, so its not like its fading out or anything. This has been happeneing for a few weeks now, in multiple seperate projects.

Thanks for the response. I did look at the song that got cut off and it's a .m4a file. However, I also have normal audio that comes from an external Zoom recorder in .wav format that is getting cut off in the same way. The strange thing is I've never had a problem with this before a couple weeks ago. I've used this same song before and my external audio is always in .wav format

FCP Audio Clips in Soundtrack Pro - Marking the Start & End Points

When I double click on an audio clip that I've sent from FCP into Soundtrack Pro I seem to open up the entire media file.
How do I lock off or at least mark the clip start & end?
I don't see any markers that tell me which part of the clip is actually used in the imported FCP sequence.
I only want to make (non-destructive) changes to the clip.
I don't want to alter the original media file.
And I just want to work on the part that's used in the FCP sequence.
It makes sense that there's a way to show the start & end points of the clip but I'm just not seeing it.

I am a bit of a newb here, so pardon if my explanation is a little unpolished, but I have been working on some of my projects like you are and this is what i figured out. I select my sequence in FCP and send to stp as a multitrack project. The whole audio timeline shows up just as it looks in fcp, and the video track shows as one large clip that is made up of all my cuts put together. Now, my audio tracks are all on one line, and i can see all the clips with their cuts on the sequence. I click the first one and open it up to work on in the waveform editor. At that point i see the entire audio clip, including the part before and after my cut that i am using in my sequence, but i also see, up near the playhead, gray markers that show the actual part of the clip i am using in my edit. It is easest to hit shift-z to look at the entire clip on screen, and then find the grey markers. Also, if you play audio before the in marker, you will hear it but you will see that the video is not playing anything, then once you enter into the in-out section the video will play along, and when you pass the out marker the video freezes as the audio keeps playing. Hope this helps.

Audio clipping at end of demonstration...

One of my developers has a randomly reproducable issue with
recording in demonstration mode in captivate. Generally happens in
Visual Studio 2008, the entire demonstration records, and all
recording works flawlessly, save audio, where the last 5% or so is
clipped off entirely at the end of the demonstration.
I'm at a loss to explain this, or find a solution for it, as
there seems to be no specific trigger for it. It works sometimes,
others you end up reshooting the last 1-2 slides. Not a huge pain,
but somewhat annoying, sapping a quarter hour with each redo.
Doesn't seem to matter if something is clicked after audio
suspends, or you stop the recording via end button or clicking
captivate in the taskbar.

Works flawlessly in captivate 3 with the exception of the
trim bug, which I found a fix for, you should look at it, as it is
so seamlessly integrated it's almost automatic. Recording in
seperate files in this case would produce an excessive amount of
work, more than is justifiable. The main reason I went with
captivate is it gave me a tool my software developer's didn't have
to learn, they could do the little bit they had to in it with three
button clicks. I had considered going to audition or even an
integrated sound recorder to accomplish the same thing, but I found
it added too much complication to the process.
Solution:
Apparently Captivate 3 has no method to verify sound as
active data, so, when you're done recording, it simply clips sound
off at the last recordable event. Easy way to make sure this
doesn't happen is to click the save button in the application
you're recording before hitting end (terminate recording).

Streaming audio data won't stop unless I turn off the phone for 5 minutes.

I have been testing the Curve 8330 regarding streaming audio from an icecast server. The address of the station is http://www.AirProgressive.org, click on "listen". (I have already run this by the icecast experts and they say it is a Blackberry "bug")
BLACKBERRY USERS! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE STREAM (dataflow) DOES NOT STOP WHEN YOU CLICK "STOP" ON THE MEDIA PLAYER! (and will continue for as long as you leave it on, and even if you turn off your BB for less than 5 Minutes.) I'm not sure if you are charged for these streams, but it seems that the battery is depleted rapidly if this continues without aborting it. See details of my testing below:

I can understand that the player may continue to communicate when "stopped" to fill the lookahead buffer, but when it is restarted, it should use the same connection and not start a new one.

So, to stop the streaming server from communicating with the Blackberry handset, you must either turn it off or disable mobile network for at least 5 minutes.
It appears that the handset continues to transfer data (and therefore incur charges, if the user does not have an unlimited data plan) if the handset is not turned off or mobile network disabled for at least five minutes. It also runs down the battery much faster because the radio transmitter is actively being used, even if the user is not listening to the stream.
The Blackberry network has intervening servers that continue to receive data from the streaming server even if the handset is off. This behavior likely has utility to deal with the realities of the cellphone network, to allow the stream to be transferred from one cell to another, and deal with the possibility that the handset may be out of range for up to 5 minutes without "interruption." However, it is hard to turn off the stream.
QUESTIONS:
1. Is there a way to stop this sort of behavior using a configuration setting or something? It seems particularly stupid to start a new stream connection each time a STOP/START cycle is completed, allowing the old connections to continue streaming data (even if the data does not make it to the handset).
2. IS IT TRUE that the user will be "charged" for the data streams that are not disconnected?
3. Is there a way for a developer to send a signal to the intervening cellphone network to discontinue the orphan streams?

I am having problems copying and pasting clips from one project timeline to another. When I do this they often alter in length. Sometimes by two frames. Other times they lose a chunk off the end of the last clip in the sequence. Has anyone else found

If you put a ControllerListener on the Processor that's associated with generating the RTP stream, it'll generate an "EndOfMedia" event when the end of the file is reached.

Audio clips cutting off at the beginning, after replacing audio.

I have received an fla for a complex game, and have been directly replacing the audio clips in it with new ones with the same file name. The game randomly chooses themes, displaying text and a corresponding audio clip. After replacing the old files with the new ones, out of 20 audio clips, about 6 of them get cut off at the beginning. There is no discernible difference in the length of the clips, or empty space at the beginning between the original audio files and the new ones.
Is it possible that there is something happening in the actionscript that could be causing the problem? The fla calls a file calls Themes.as, this is the code in the file, case the answer is in there somewhere:

If you have not upgraded to version 7 you should do that.
If you have upgraded to Version 7, be sure to do the updates to 7.0.5
Go to the Help menu and select 'About Adobe Presenter' to see what version, if it is 7.0, to 7.0.2 you need to update it
drop down the help menu again and you will see an 'update' option.
you need to install in order - 7.0.1, then 7.0.2 then 7.0.5 - you cannot install all at once
another thing you might want to do is open the file you are working on in 7.0.5 snd save it out with a new filename in a new location to combat that pesky problem of the 'media.ppcx' file disappearing....

End of stream or off-line message?

When you stop live streaming, is there a way to have the client player present an end of stream or off-line message?
Right now when I stop streaming, the client plays the last part of the stream and then just buffers endlessly.

Once you know exactly what it is you are editing, report back with that information... and your project setting, and if there is a red line above the video in the timeline, which indicates a mismatch between video and project

Bug: OS 4.5 Media Player does not allow BB screen to shut off when playing streaming audio

I updated my Verizon Pearl 8130 to OS 4.5. Now, when streaming audio from a station such as "Groove Salad" at http://www.somafm.com, the screen does not shut off but stays on indefinitely, wasting precious battery power. OS 4.3 Media Player did allow the screen to turn off when streaming audio.

I have a similar issue since upgrading to to 4.5 with my vzw 8130. with 4.3 I was able to stream audio and then have it run in the background to read messages or address book for example all the while the audio was still playing. Now once I get the audio streaming and back out to the main menu the media player quits.

Macbook: Turn off screen while streaming audio

I want to use my macbook for an input in my audio system. I am going to stream audio, but because I intend to use it in a darkened room, I wish to be able to make the screen shut off. Is there a command to do that or another way to do it?

Yes, you can put the screen/display to sleep by creating a "Hot Corner"
Open the Desktop & Screen saver Preferences, click Hot Corners (bottom left) and select one of the four screen corners and then select "Sleep Display."
When you are streaming, just move your cursor to that particular corner and there you are.
