End point confusion for connecting lines

Am I stupid or is it iWorks?
I often create two text boxes and connect them.
Generally I want an arrow two the right, but each time I go to the inspector and select an endpoint, it always points in a random direction. Using the right hand one to add an arrow on the right does not always work that way - often it adds an arrow on the left.
Is there any rule here or is this something Apple did just to frustrate the tourists?

No, it's not just you. It makes me crazy. I'm laughing now, but I make it a game - statistically how often can I get it wrong. Surprisingly, it's well over 50% of the time. So I think it knows where you want the arrow to go, and puts it in the other place. If in a hurry, or doing a lot of them, it is VERY annoying. Apple, make it so that the arrow goes towards the second object selected. C'mon!

How osb handle end point offline for long time

Hi all,
In my project, the messages will be sent real time to distributed client, each client is only have one end point, so there is no load balancing could be applied. I already set the retry count, iteration interval and also offline endpoint URIs setting. Will it sufficient, in case the client hang or offline in long time, 2 hours or longer?
How osb keep the message, will the frequent retry process causing performance issue?
Any suggestion for proper configuration in this case?

How to find the end point URL for a Enterprise Service?

Hi,
I'm trying to find the URL for a service called "DocumentERPFileVariantByIDAndFileVariantIDQueryResponse"
so it can be called through .NET.
I've been able to locate the WSDL and generated the proxy objects through this URL:
http://<server>:8000/sap/bc/srt/wsdl/sdef_ECC_DOCUMENTFVBYFVIDQR/wsdl11/ws_policy/document?sap-client=<client>
But in the WSDL there's no end point definition included, so where can the service it self be found?

END point URL for ESB Routing service says NOT FOUND

Hi All,
For the routing services in ESB, The link of WSDL is opening up fine, but the link of endpoint URI for the routing service is failing with the message below message. When i invoke the WSDL using SOAP UI, i get back the the same error message. I tried bouncing the server , but of no help. I also notice that slide directory ESB_Projects gives 404 error on any browser.
So when i click below url for any of the routing service

I get below error in browser-

Check if the port of ESB in your server is open.
I think that the port is: 7777
try from ESB server:
wget WSDLURI
if you got the file then the port is closed.

Custom text component with different start and end points for each line

I'm trying to create a custom component extending textArea in which each individual line in the textArea would have different start and end points. For example, the start/end points for line 1 might be 20 pixels in the front and 35 pixels at the end but start/end points for line 2 might be 25 pixels in front and 20 pixels at the end, etc. These boundary values would be passed in. The width of the entire textArea component would be a fixed size. The result would be something like this:
Jack and Jill
ran up the hill
to fetch a pail of water
depending on the boundary values of each individual line of course. The custom component would take a string and render it in the text component with the appropriate individual line start and end points. I'm trying to do this by adding the text component to the display with the passed in string and then adding in spaces in the beginning of each line and adding a "/n" at the end of the line wherever appropriate based on the start and end values for that line.
Just wondering if I'm on the right track and if anyone has any advice on this.

What do you have selected when you assign the marker? It
shouldn't apply to all the markers on the whole graph unless you have all the existing markers selected when you apply the new one.
Assigning marker designs is exactly analogous to assigning bar graph designs.
If you have a single marker selected when you assign the new design, it will apply to only that graph data point.
If you use the group select tool (or option-click with the direct select tool) to reclick on an already-selected marker until all the markers for the same line are selected, and then assign a design, the new design will apply only to the selected line. (You can extend the graph by adding more rows, and the new data points will inherit the marker for the line they are on.)

Exporting connection lines to powerpoint goes wrong?

The title says it all, in fact. I see two issues
- when the connection line is a curve, the export turns it into a line
- the end points of the generated line match the center of the shapes instead of the border as in keynote. In case the connection line is an arrow (which is often the case), just rearranging the order does not help.
Exporting to, say, PDF, works fine.
In short: exporting keynote with connection lines to powerpoint does not work.
Any way to get around this (except for not using connection lines)?
I use the latest version of keynote; in fact, it is demo version, I am evaluating whether I would buy it. This issue may be a deal breaker:-(

I understand you don't own any Microsoft products, but have you also stated that "but the presentation MUST be given in PowerPoint" which I thought meant that at some point you have access to a computer which does have PowerPoint, even if it's only a few minutes before the presentation. I apologize for the assumption.
The point being made is that Keynote is not a substitute for PowerPoint if your final output is going to be PowerPoint. If you have not opened the file in PowerPoint, then you don't know what it will look like in PowerPoint. As Tulse has posted, there are free alternatives to PowerPoint that would be better than using Keynote. BUT the same caveat still stands.
I love using Keynote, have used it since it was first released and, enjoy the freedom to create the interface gives me. However, the right tool for the job is sometimes PowerPoint.

Systinet UDDI - SOA SUITE 11G (Dynamic SOAP end point lookup Issues)

We are using Systinet as our UDDI product and trying to use UDDI lookup in our BPEL process as well. I have completed the below tasks
1) Configured the Systinet UDDI Inquiry URL and the development soap endpoint in the SOA Infrastructure Common properties in soa server 11g. Did not provide the user-id and
password.
2) Restarted the servers so that the changes are effective.
3) In Jdeveloper 11g, Created a connection with UDDI Registry.
4) Created a sample BPEL process using Jdeveloper 11g that calls an already registered webservice in UDDI. This lookup web service has 3 different end
points (Dev, QA and Prod) and a binding of wsdlDeployment use type. The binding points to the actual wsdl Physical location.

Questions / Issues
1) Why the registry search is being done in all the endpoints and is not searching only on the development end point provided in the configuration plan. I
added the SOAP endpoint in the service reference properties on the server as well, but still is searching on all the end points
2)     Not able to determine the root cause for the SRHttpAccessPointNotFoundException error observed. Please refer the above log for details.
Please advice and let me know if there is more information required.

What is Oracle’s recommendation for a services invocation framework between BPEL, JEE and ESB containers? From a quick read of Oracle Technet website, WSIF seem to be the preferred framework for this purpose. However, from an equally quick survey of such frameworks in use today outside of Oracle, WSIF does not seem to enjoy any widespread developer community support anymore and all talk in public forum seem to point to newer Apache Frameworks such as CXF which support emerging standards such as JAX-WS 2.0 What is the current stand of Oracle with respect to this matter?

Support for TLS-DSK Authentication in UCMA End Point connections?

The Lync servers support NTLM, Kerberos, TLS-DSK as supported Authentication Protocols.
However, it appears that UCMA API when used in the End Point connection mode does not provide an option to use TLS-DSK as an authentication scheme. Is there any way to connect to a Lync server that only supports TLS-DSK as an authentication protocol?

No, UCMA only supports NTLM/Kerberos. TLS-DSK requires HTTP requests which UCMA can not currently handle.

Change the end point URL in WSDL for web-service

Hi All,
Morning , could someone please help us with this question, we are stuck with this currently.
In SOA Suite 10g as well 11g we have a jsimple Java class whose one of the methods is exposed as a web service.
In the project it has created the WSDL as well and have deployed the .ear file to the servers from EM console successfully.
Now we need to migrate this web service to testing & production environments.
1. Could someone please let us know the steps as to how do we change the end point url in the WSDL for this web service (present in web content --> WEB-INF/wsdl path in the j-developer project) for migration in case of both 10g (OC4J) as well 11g (WLS) servers.
2. Also could this change/update be done prior to deployment as well as post deployment as well.
Looking forward to inputs regards this...as we are stuck with this ..would be very helpful

As Vijay mentioned, you develop a WebService in JDeveloper and test in JDeveloper integrated Weblogic Server say at http://localhost:7101/MyWebService/MyPort?wsdl. Thats it. Once it is working. Export it into a .WAR file. If you have any other supporting EJB JARs etc, put all these into a full blown .EAR at application level. NOW deploy this .EAR or .WAR into any Domain on any host and any port. DOES not matter. That server's host and port will be taken. Infact even if this other domain is Clustered domain, still it will work by giving webserver host and webserver port that sits in front of the cluster.
I develop my webservices in JDeveloper and test at 7101 port. This .WAR gets deployed in QC Env at qchost:qcport. Same .WAR deployed to UAT at uathost:uatport and finally to prod also at prodhost:prodport.
Its just the Client (WebService Proxy) that is calling this WebService need to use appropriate host and port based on which Env it is connecting to. For this, simply do not hard code WSDL URL in the java code or anywhere. Simply get it from a .properties file using a key value pair like this.
WSDL_URL=http://host:port/MyWebService/MyPort?WSDL.
Now have Environment specific values for above key and put that properties file in that domain root folder. And in your code always refer this key.
You can use many approaches along the above lines.
If your WebServies proxy is a webservice adapter say within bpel, still you can modify the value using deployment plan .xml file file while deploying.
I would not absolutely prefer opening war file from ear and modifying war and updating ear file etc etc. Also do not have multiple EARs for Environment specific. Just have only one single EAR or WAR file that can be deployed to any environment.

Issue with variable while in a PSSession connected to an end point

Ok so Ive put together a simple script that will allow our helpdesk to look at permissions on a specified folder or share adn display in a nice html page. I need it to run under different credentials so I set up an endpoint which I can connect to remotely
and run the script. The issue is in the variable that needs to get set. It prompts for the folder location and once you put it in, it just freezes up. If I run the script locally its fine and works perfectly. but running it in the remote
session connected to an end point, it just doesnt do anything once you put in the information after it prompts you. For testing also I set the $folderpath to a specific path and it does run fine through a remote session so its just an issue passing
that input back to the variable while in the remote session. Any idea?

Exporting line end point coordinates?

Hi,
I'm in desperate need of a script to export the coordinates of lines, or paths, it doesn't really matter, into a text document.
I've set my ruler up so the 0,0 is in the center of the image, because I need both 0,0 and -0,-0 to work for what I have in mind, basically using a document as a large Cartesian grid, which you can then extract coordinates of 'edges' or end points of lines from.
A little background on why I need it, for anyone curious. I figured out a way to build new worlds/maps for a game that generates terrain based on 'boundaries', which are drawn on, in a 2d plane, but I need coordinates to map these boundaries correctly. I could do it manually, where I'd hover my mouse over every edge or end of the line point, but this would save a LOT of time.
I'd be insanely grateful if anyone can help me out. I've tried looking for scripts or other software, but haven't been successful at all for what I really need.
The way I have my document setup is, 1 pixel per cm, 16384x16384cm. It's quite large, so most 'graph' software won't work for it. The grid itself works fairly well, I just need a decent way to export the coordinates from it.

Don't appologize, I was stuck on cm because I thought there wasn't another way, I only figured out after JJMack mentioned it, that it's possible purely by pixels.
First time working with coordinates, I'm in total new territory.
The above works great, except now I've stumbled across 2 new problems, sorry to make it so complicated!

Which made me realize, that the paths aren't bound to a layer (It's been a while since I've used paths), so it'll just use the Background layer. There is no way around that, right? Since this script only targets layers, it'll ignore path names, which brings me to another question, is it possible to use the same thing, only for saved paths? So if you had 2 paths, one named P1 and the other P2, that it would display it like:

And the other thing, because I'm using a loop now, which basically repeats the \r after ever coordinate, there isn't a way to collect all coordinates and display them in a chain, basically, and then using the \r after all the coordinates for one path is exported, before it moves on to the next path, or? Basically like the post previous to this, except with paths, instead of layers.

Solution: order delivery message for each end-point of many end-points

Does anyone can help me find a solution to a problem I have.
Scenario: I have to develop a project with the OSB, and between the various services that I have to develop one have the following requirements.
I have a system that has multiple end-point (sub-systems; 1200 sub-systems), to whom I send a message (and only one), and these must be delivered in order (sequentially for each sub-system) .
These messages came from a JMS queue (could be topic).
Can anyone give some tips, how can I develop my components (proxy service) in order to ensure the delivery of messages in sequence for each sub-system without having to deploy multiple proxy service (one for each sub-system).

Strange requirement but easy to implement. Create a XML which has all the end-points in it (you may create a simple structure line <EndpointList><Endpoint>EndPoint1</Endpoint><Endpoint>EndPoint2</Endpoint>.......</EndPointList>). Upload this xml as a X-Query resource in OSB. Use For each action in message flow (in request-response pipeline) and traverse on each and every EndPoint node in above created XML and from inside that use use publish/dynamic publish action.
Use Routing options: Modify any or all of the following properties in the outbound request: URI, Quality of Service, Mode, Retry parameters, Message Priority.

Connect Selected End Point Question

Hi everyone:
I am trying to connect selected end points. I have drawn my open path and Illustrator is not letting me select my two anchor points. I keep getting selections of the entire path. So, of course, the connect selected end points icon is greyed out. I have tried selecting the two endpoints with the lasso and variations of the direct select and select and they all select parts of or the entire path. Does anyone know how to isolate the selection to just the two end points? Thanks so much for your help!

The way you stated this suggests you are trying to close a single open path, not join two open paths. If so, selecting the entire path is what you want. With the whole path selected, key Ctrl-J. The Join command also closes an open path.
