End Users unable to use the spotlight feature on Mac Server OS 10.8.2

I have a few users who are trying to use the spotlight feature to search files on the server we have running 10.8.2 however they are unable to do so. Once connected their user folder automatically opens with their specific folders but when you start to enter text into the spotlight in the top of the finder window it only searches "This Mac" We are connecting using afp (Command + K). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nightly build users can't use the feedback feature

Ever since I've started using Firefox beta (around beta 4, I think), I've been unable to submit feedbacks using the gigantic button that have only been waiting for some love.
However, it just keeps saying that my firefox version of Firefox is too old, and that I should download the last beta (currently b7) while I'm using Minefield b8pre directly from the (Linux) PPA.

If you can't update via Help > Check for Updates then you have to download and install (or unzip a ZIP version) of the current Minefield nightly build. There have been occasions in the past that updating didn't work or caused an immediate crash upon restarting and in such cases the only option is to download a full version archive to get a new Minefield version.
You can probably only access the feedback site with a not modified user agent (I haven't tested what works and what not).

I am unable to use the browse feature within the store on an iPad 1

The browse by author feature within the iBooks store will not show titles by author. When I touch an author's name the app does not pull up books it remains with the "Choose an Author" prompt.

We have the same problem and just use the search bar instead. We don't have the same problem on our new iPad 3. We did uninstall and reinstalled the new iBooks but still the same problem. Have you had any fixes?

Unable to use the focus feature on a field

hi,
I have the need to manipulate the focus event of a field. This is my pdf body structure :
form1 ----> form
|_ a ----> page
|_b ----> textfield
|_c ----> textfield
The idea is to test if the user pressed the key "ESC", "TAB" or "ENTER" when exiting from field "b". If so, and after testing the content of the field, i wanted to set the focus on that same field "b" to let the user proceed with the correction.
I tried with the "xfa.event.commitKey" to see if the "ESC", "TAB" or "ENTER" keys where pressed while exiting the field. I then redirected the focus to different fields named "ESC", "TAB" and "ENTER" just to be sure that i was getting the correct keys.
This feature works if i set the focus in a different field than the one i'm exiting.
Then, i tried a different approach. On the exit event of the field, i placed the following code :
app.setTimeOut("this.getField('form1[0].a[0].b[0]').setFocus()", 1000);
This would do the same as the setFocus after a while.
For what i could see, catching the events with the "xfa.event.commitKey" for the "ESC", "TAB" or "ENTER" key works alright. The problem is to set the focus to the current field ( the one where the exit event is being analyzed ). However, if i change the destination field to any other field on the form, all the scripts work.
Following the structure that i have on top, it the exit event is being analyzed on field "b" and the "setFocus" or the "app.setTimeOut" scripts indicate field "b" as destination, it doesn't work.
If i change the destination field to be "c", all the scripts work as expected. It seems like there is a problem with setting the focus on the field that i'm exiting from.
Any ideas on this ???

The focus on the current field works in acrobat reader versions above 8.0, but in 8.0 it just doesn''t work...
To reiterate:
On the exit event of a textbox I need to display a validation message if a certain condition is met. I then need to refocus on the same textbox after the "ok" button is clicked in the validation warning.
My setFocus code is correct, but it just doesn't work in 8.0.
Thoughts?

How do I disable the ability for a user to setup/use the sync feature?

I need to disable this feature for all users in a corporate environment, how do I do this? I would like to disable the "Sign in to Sync" on the menu and the tab in the Options window.

Why am I unable to use the Adobe Send application

I am unable to fill in forms, add text or send a form, whereas I used to be able to do this. I have an Adobe Account with a User ID and password. Isn't Adobe a Certified Document Service?

Unable to use the keyboard in XP keys work OK when boot into dos

Unable to use the keyboard in XP. It was working for over a year OK with XP running
keys work OK when I install win98 or use a dos boot disk.
If I try to reinstall XP I can not use any of keys to input anything.

Running OSX 10.4.11, and the problems appear to be related to the fact that when I originally registered my computer with apple, I used an old e-mail address which is now defunct. Have since upgraded the e-mail address in account manger, but it still locks me out and rejects my user name and password when I try to log in. It seems it established an account for me automatically when I first fired the beast up, but now the Macmail program is uncooperative with me. Any assistance would be much appreciated, Thanks

Sounds like some needed System Fonts wre replaced by bad ones. Y also have Font Book in Applications for validating fonts & checking for duplicates.
Required Fonts from 10.3, much the same in 10.4...

then intall the Fonts what you need from your Install Disk.
Or do a relatively painless Archive & Install, which gives you a new/old OS, but can preserve all your files, pics, music, settings, etc., as long as you have plenty of free disk space and no Disk corruption, and is relatively quick & painless...

Problems using the template feature in CS3

Appreciation in advance to anyone trying to help me out, as I am a little lost to say the least...
Firstly the website I'm talking about it www.handbakedarcade.co.uk
I recently re-built the site using the template feature on dreamweaver as I have a lot of pages and all have the same general layout with just one large editable region in the main section of each page. The trouble I'm having is that when i change the template (named TEMPLATE3.dwt) and then re-upload it as well as the pages that are dependent on it the changes are not seen. The problem is simple, I will try and prepare for the answer not to be!

Looking at the page you linked it - it doesn't show any template markup at all. There are no editable or non-editable regions showing in the code.
The actual master template (the dwt file) does not have to be uploaded to the server. Once you make changes to a template, the changes flow through to all the child pages associated with the template and these are the files that need to be uploaded.    You can upload the templates folder to the remote if you wish to keep a copy as a backup, but it makes no difference to the associated with it.
Not sure what's happened to you page, as Nancy pointed out the opening and closing <body> tags are missing.
I have created an ID for the outer div so that we can give it some styles so that it is centered on the page and also that the content within the wrapper are centered.
Copy and paste the following code in a new DW document and see the differences between your original code (the page that you linked to) and the code below.

Every time I try to use the camera feature it won't work

Anytime I try and use the camera feature -- the one built with the phone, through Instagram or Facebook it just closes down that app. Any ideas?

Basic troubleshooting from the Users Guide is reset, restart, restore. Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved.

Why won't Firefox let me use the 'Enlarge' feature on E bay, when other browsers will?

Firefox will not let me use the feature 'Enlarge' when trying to view products on E bay. It does allow me to use the 'zoom' feature which is odd that it will do one thi9ng, but not the other. I have no problem using the 'enlarge' feature when I use Opera, Sea Monkey or IE7.

Firefox should not modify the Windows mouse settings; that is troubling.
If this problem started around the time of Firefox 30, perhaps it's this:
Firefox 30 switched many plugins from "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate". The purpose of this change was to require your permission for untrusted sites to use plugins. However, some plugins that affect the user interface and/or operate globally on all pages do not work well with this setting and unpredictable UI breakage can result.
Could you review your plugins as follows:
Open the Add-ons page using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins. Then I suggest:
* For "in-page"/"player" plugins like Flash, Silverlight, or Java, no changes are needed
* For global plugins like fingerprint readers or security software, switch to either:
** "Always Activate" if you use this plugin on a regular basis
** "Never Activate" if this plugin is not important or very rarely used
If in doubt, set "Never Activate".
This might not take effect immediately in the current window, but should work in new windows, or after you exit and restart Firefox.

If you have added the ringtone file correctly to iTunes, it will appear under iTunes 'Tones' library.
If you don't find Tones library in iTunes, go to iTunes menu EDIT/PRFERENCES under GENERAL tab, check the Tones Box under Library source to display Tones library in iTunes.
iTunes accepts only m4r file as ringtone and has to be less than 40secs.

How do I use the OCR feature in Acrobat 9?

Does Acrobat 9 have the OCR feature? If so, where do I find it? In Acrobat 8, one would go to Document, OCR Text Recognition, Recognize Test Using OCR, OK. I specifically want to know how to apply OCR to a scanned document in order to use the Find feature.

Simple. go to DOCUMENT, and then select OCR TEXT RECOGNITION.
