Endeca dimension names with Russian

Hi folks, i faceted some problem. Not sure, that it is bug, just want to confirm whether such behavior is correct. So, I want to have dimension name in Russian language. I import data into CAS using ATG Platform with
GenerativePropertyAccessor. The accessor generates with correct values:
<PROP NAME="Цвет"> <PVAL> черный </PVAL> </PROP>
But after bulking to Endeca - no i have in Endeca following incorrect dimension names:
____ - some problem with encoding..
But when i index the property as simple non-dimension one - everything is ok.
May be there is no way to display and have dimension names in Russian.. I don't know.. just want to get confirmation of it or find out a solution.

This is a product defect and not available in Oracle Endeca Version 11.1
Support team has opened a bug and may available in upcoming releases.

Anyone know how to get CF 8 to serve up CFM files with
Russian characters in the file name? I can get IIS to server up
.html files but .cfm files turn in to ?????????.cfm files.
For example, this:

becomes this ??????????????.cfm and throws a CF error (File Not
Found) when clicking on the link. The strange thing is I can see
the Russian characters in the status bar when I mouse over the link
but CF can't handle it. And IIS will serve up the file and replace

Dimension name is not displayed when all dimvals are selected

I have a dimension Price Range diemnsion which is multiselect Or. If I select all dimVals of Price Range the Price range is still displayed in left side of jspref application.
We have another dimensions Ad Feature which is also multiselect Or. If I select all dimVals of Ad Feature the Ad Feature is is not displayed in left side of jspref application.
Please let me know why is the difference and what needs to be done so that Ad Feature is also displayed even I select all dimVals of Ad Feature diemnsion.

This is a normal Endeca behavior where when there are no more refinements, then the dimension wouldnt be available in the queryresult object. However the selected dimension details should be available in the descriptor dimension object from where the dimension name could be obtained and shown in UI.

How to show file names in russian (for instance) in the terminal window?

I have a file with its name in russian. It shows fine in Finder. The terminal, however, shows it in question marks like this:

I want to get a value through LookupCube based on CurrentMember of different dimensions along with a date range. For example, I want to make this happen: LookupCube("TMIClaim","([Measures].[Paid Amount],"+"[Transaction

It does not work as long as I put the date range.
I cannot use Aggregate either since it does not take multiple dimensions as filter criteria. That means when I use date range for aggregate I cannot use another dimensions as filter.
I am looking for any of the solution which based filter that is combined with a date range and other dimensions.

Try using the Sum() function. Something like:

OBIEEReports called through Office Plugin showing incorrect dimension names

Hi
I have a few reports created in Answers which are being displayed perfectly fine in OBIEE Portal. But when I am trying to fetch the same reports in a Power Point or an Excel using MS Office Plugin, I get saw_0, saw_1, ... in place of actual dimension names in some reports. Though it works fine in some other reports. I can see no difference in the properties or any other setting of the reports which are working fine and which are not.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Looks like there is a bug in Office Plugin of OBIEE wherein if there is an underscore (_) in name of the dimension, Office Plugin ignores the part of the name which is before the underscore and thats why assigns the default names saw_0, saw_1 etc. to unknown dimension names.
The problem doesn't come for reports which are coming out of those dimensions which are either having single word names or multiple word names with spaces (because in case of spaces, the OBIEE engine automatically assigns double quotes to the name of the dimension and makes it recognisable to Office plugin)

I have created a report and most of the functionality that i want is working as expected.
I have a report where i am letting user enter their first name on one field and last name on another field in the parameter screen ( thats how it's stored in the database)
If they enter any name with an aphostrophe , say D'Costa ( either first name or last name)
then i get the below error
REP-50003: Bad parameter: pfaction=http://.........
I am using like keyword as seen below in the afterparam trigger and passing the parameter :p_where_last_name to the main sql query

Whats the best approach to handle this issue
Also is there a way to capture this error

I am not using form , it's just done in report, that is i am not calling the report from a form , just from a menu.
:last_name is a report_paramter that i created on the report.
you're right the first assignmnt is
AND UPPER( db column) LIKE
I have a paramter form on the report with a field last name and I am letting the user enter last name there which gets stored in the :last_name

I use OLD Dreamweaver, and upload my HTML with an FTP program to my own web site... I will GUESS you can do that, if you can save HTML to your hard drive to then be able to upload to your web site

File name with symbols won't delete from trash.cache\trash\cache folder.

found this weird file name with symbols (squares nad the like) in the trash.cache\trash\cache folder. Can't seem to delete it from windows, can't get at from the dos prompt. Windows safe mode won't delete it.
Any suggestions as to what it is and how to get rid of it.
At present am trying reinstall of firefox and virus scan.

I tried to do the instructions Adobe gave me but when
I put in the disc that came with my mac and hold down
C when it restarts it takes me to the screen to do a
fresh install.
At that point go to the Menu & select Disk Utility - I can't remember exactly which menu but you should be able to find it easily... there isn't too much there
I went into the disk utility through the Apps folder
and for somereason the option to repair isnt
highlighted and it wont let me click it. I tried to
repair permissions/verify but it doesnt change
anything. I looked at the info and it says the volume
can be repaired, but it wont let me.
You can't Repair the disk the system is currently running the OS from - That's why you have to boot from the Installer disk (or some other start-up disk). Repair Disk addresses directory structure issues - totally separate from what Repair Permissions does.

In iTunes(on a Mac or PC) just tap on 'Albums' rather than 'Artists' and you'll see them all together.
You may find that there are songs mislabelled. In which case right tap on the Album or Artist and tap 'Get Info', then change to the correct name and the songs will join the rest of the songs for that Artist or Album.
Then resync with your iPhone and all will be well.
