Endeca Reference application issue
Hi,
I am getting below message while deploying discover reference application.
Found version 6.1 of the Endeca IAP installed in directory
D:\Endeca\PlatformServices\6.1.3. If either the version or location are
incorrect, type 'Q' to quit and adjust your ENDECA_ROOT environment variable.
Press enter to continue with these settings.
**Does any one know why this is coming??.**
I have cross checked Endeca root directory and Platform service location. Both are same.
Thanks.
The new properties will have to be added to product-sku-output-config.xml, which went under /atg/commerce/search in 10.1.0 (the location might have changed in 10.1.1). Check the ATG Endeca Integration guide for exact steps.
HTH,
Pankaj.

Help required in endeca java application
Hi,
I am creating a java application of the endeca wine application. I am able to display the results but facing issue in creating the product links for individual products which we redirect me to the product detail page. How will the string query created append the R parameter to the query?
Pls let me know.
Thanks,
VineetThere multiple ways you can do this
1. As you mentioned using R (Record Query) - where you should pass the endeca record ID, not the product ID for this to work
2. if you have unique product ids, you can use ntk param to look at only ID property and set ntt value as product id
hope this helps.

Reference application and logging - use of ENE_TIME and PAGE_TIME-custom va
Hello.
In the Orange Box reference application there are log variable/values for ENE_TIME and PAGE_TIME.
Can these varibles be variables used in reporting? If not - can they be?
Also, If one puts additional entries into the log statements (such as OTS_HOST) can these entries be used for filtering via tweaking of the XSL report templates?
Can reports - other than the reports that come out of the box - be added to Workbench?
Thanks. Please take a look at this article which states SYSDATE is not supported in a
where clause.
http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/bpel_cookbook/qualcomm-bpel.html
Excerpt from the article:
Here are three important things you should do in implementing the above design:
Have the status of the record being processed stored in the database. The status includes the process state, next process attempt time, and processing attempt count.
Create an updatable view that exposes only records that are ready to be processed. A view is needed because the database adapter cannot handle a where clause that compares against SYSDATE.
Design logic that determines if a process instance that has faulted should be retried and when the retry should occur. This information will be updated in the database by use of a stored procedure. This can also be done with an update partner link and additional logic in BPEL.

Missing VI - RF Record and Playback Reference Application
Tried to load and run "RF Record and Playback Reference Application" just posted on Developer zone. Have all correct versions of SW. Missing MITEoptimization.llb containing optimizeMITe.vi. Found the win32fileiovis but still missing this one. Reference to "file below" on web site but not there.
Thanks, Andrew. I do have the files, but the strangest thing happened. Although the locations of the web page linked to as well as the file locations appear to be identical, the file that is downloaded is different depending on whether I link to it with Firebird browser or IE. Same behavior whether I double click on the file or right click & save as
File sizes are 383KB (short file) and 628 KB (complete file including MITEOptimization and benchmarking files)
Using Winzip 9.0
Should be OK now though.
Tried again later and both were the same. Is it possible that I linked to different servers which had different files?? Noticed that dir.mnu in the win32filieio directory has different time stamp for the two. -
Hi, I have installed the oracle commerce tools and framework with inbuilt assembler service and reference application ie discover electronics. What i am trying to do now is I have created an application with new data and confugured the pages with cartridges and i want the existing assembler to point to this application now. I am trying to do promote content.bat but its throwing error : SEVERE: Unable to update assembler with URL:http://BLRASH16695434:8006/webApp2/admin. Error code (404): Not Found INFO: Updated Assembler at URL: http://BLRASH16695434:8006/webApp2/admin Please help me as to where to configure the existing assembler code to point to new application . Thanks
These errors from promote_content.bat are not related to Assembler application. The purpose of this script is to promote content and then call webapplication to inform that new content is ready to be used. I believe this second part is where the script is failing. Please update WorkbenchConfig.xml and comment out this line:
AssemblerUpdate.updateAssemblers();
This should resolve the SEVERE error you mentioned.
But about the other problem regarding Assembler not able to connect to your application, please check whether you have setup Assembler webapp as per installation documentation and whether you are pointing to correct MDEX port and specify whether you copied all required libraries into WEB-INF/lib.

Clarification regarding Reference application & Source application
Hi
What is the purpose of Reference application and Source application
While we create new application why we choose reference application & source application
please clarify me, why we give
source application as Planning,
source application type as Finance
rate application as Rate
sometimes Source application as Sales
Regards
LuciHi,
Source application is the application from where the templates will be copied into the new application. Every application has few inbuilt templates (for reports, input schedules, DM packages, etc). These objects are copied from the source application to the newly created application.
Application type determines what is the purpose of your application. Whether is should be a reporting or non-reporting type? Whether the purpose is to do planning or consolidation? You will get more information on this from the below link from help.sap:

Hello,
I'm trying to install Endeca Studio on weblogic and I'm seeing a class not found error during the "install" step.
The CPU spikes up during the deploy and no progress is made. The error is seen below. Any insight would
be appreciated.
I have installed Endeca Server 7.6 with no issues and have seen the ws running at

Endeca Server performance issue: dgraph is slow and not always available
Hi, I'm experiencing a problem with Endeca Server. It's very slow and the dgraph process takes about 97% of the cpu without doing queries.
When I try to open the Studio Page, the cpu utilization of the dgraph process increases up to 200%, and if I try to launch a simple query from Integrator the result is:
<env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
<env:Header/>
<env:Body>

</env:Envelope>
If I try to ping the Data Store by visiting the url http://192.168.2.16:7001/endeca-server/admin/SocialIDData?op=ping sometimes the response is positive, and sometimes it's negative.
I've also checked the log file in ${ENDECA_SERVER_DOMAIN}/EndecaServer/logs/SocialIDData.out and I've found that message:

Visual Composer 7.0 Applications Issue in Portal.
Hi All,
I am developing and Deploying VC Applications in the Production Server directly,
But after 10 or 15 days the VC and WAD applications are not working properly, the BI Queries which
We are attaching are working properly.
Now we are getting these types of Errors.
1) u201CConnecting to backend system failedu201D
2) 500 Internal Server Error
3) System connection failed
When we restart our Portal server then these VC and WAD applications are working fine.
I want to know why this is happening like this, is there any problem to deploy the applications
Directly in the Production Server, if any one of know regarding this problem then please let me know.
Thanks
SriramHi Sriram,
Please check and test the system object and JCO Destination for BI system connection when you received the error message.
Check the default trace log file from server location/Netweaver administration /NWA for further investigation about your issue. OR login to http://<myhost>:<port>/irj/portal and change teh URL to http://<myhost>:<port>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.runtime.admin.logviewer.default and then search with the exact message.
Hope it will helps

WebDynpro Application issue consuming asynchronous webservice from SAP PI
Hello experts i ask you for help thie following issue:
i am developing a webdynpro application which is supposed to
send some data from inputfields, and a file, in order to achieve it, that dynpro application is consuming an asyncrhronous webservice , this service is running in SAP Process integration .it uses only a component.
Iam having serious problems at mapping the asynchronous PI web service model -->to -->controller >and then to->view
since when i deploy the application into the SAP portal´s application server, it runs , but inputfields cannot be written.i dont mean unabled, what i mean, is. cannot write anything on them.ECXEPT the file upload UI element.
I have reviewed sap help page, 3 sappress books, about dynpro, and the procedure i am performind is agree with them.
endpoint test answers the folloiwng:
Message Servlet is in Status OK
Status information:
Servlet com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap.web.MessageServlet (Version $Id: //tc/xi/NW04S_20_REL/src/_adapters/_soap/java/com/sap/aii/af/mp/soap/web/MessageServlet.java#1 $) bound to /MessageServlet
Classname ModuleProcessor: null

Lookupname for remoteModuleProcessorLookupName: null
ModuleProcessorClass not instantiated
ModuleProcessorLocal is Instance of com.sap.aii.af.mp.processor.ModuleProcessorLocalLocalObjectImpl0_0
ModuleProcessorRemote not instantiated
what i did is the same as before(in another projects weh i used to import rfc models):
1.- import webservice model, and add it to component
2.-map web service model to controller context
3.-map controller´s context to view context
4.-create actions and methods
5.-binding context controller to ui elements
Dear experts, my questions are:
What am i doing wrong?
should i permorm another steps because the web service is in another application server (SAP PI)?
Should i create a stand alone proxy and then access it from webdynpro?
when i call the web service model excution it seems does not run, neverthless the invocation does not have any syntax error , what coul it be?
Thanx in advance!!just for the sake of other who may hit this thread , the solution is to add sap-client=<clientno> in the url for wsdl

Interesting Application Issue with Oracle 11.1.0.6/7 (Long Post)
Just curious to see if anyone has seen anything like this - this is not a production issue, just something that I find interesting (a challenge if you will).
I have been testing Oracle 11.1.0.6 and 11.1.0.7 with an ERP package since January and have encountered an interesting issue where the ERP package throws an error "ORA-02005: implicit (-1)
length not valid for this bind or define datatype" error, when selecting the BLOB column from any table containing a BLOB - this same ERP package executes without problem with Oracle
10.2.0.2/10.2.0.3/10.2.0.4. The table definition is as follows:
PART_ID NOT NULL VARCHAR2(30)
TYPE NOT NULL CHAR(1)
BITS BLOB
BITS_LENGTH NOT NULL NUMBER(38)The previous version of the ERP package had the same table defined as follows, and the previous version of the ERP package had no problem with Oracle 11.1.0.6:
PART_ID NOT NULL VARCHAR2(30)
TYPE NOT NULL CHAR(1)
BITS LONG RAW
BITS_LENGTH NOT NULL NUMBER(38)One of the SQL statements which is tossing the error:
SELECT BITS FROM PART_MFG_BINARY where TYPE = :1 and PART_ID = :2

Macbook Pro wifi and application issues, everything slow
Hey guys,
So my macbook pro has been giving me a lot of issues lately. It doesn't appear to be one particular problem and it's spread out across applications. Here's my situation:
The wifi connection in my dorm room wont work all of a sudden. It's the schools wifi, so I can't mess with. But my roommate, who also has a macbook pro, is having no problems at all. So I think it's just my computer. It SAYS I'm connected to the internet and has full connection, but it doesn't go through.
Here's the weird thing... I CAN connect to any other wifi on campus just fine. And all ethernet ports work fine.
I'm also having trouble with a variety of applications. My Twitter app, mail wont load anything, Itunes store is slow or doesn't work, the App store wont open, Celtx.....
I think it's all programs that require some sort of internet connection to function. And it's really strange how all these applications still don't work right even when I DO have internet connection (through ethernet or other wifi).
Few notes: I've tried reseting the permissions, and I have 40GB free on my harddrive. It's been happening for a week now, and I've tried rebooting many times. I did a large software update right before it started happening, but I'm not sure if they are related.
What do you think? Is this something I can fix on my own? Or is something damaged on my computer?
HELP!Alright, Gryphonator, looks like you're being hijacked. Try the following:
1) Go to this webpage and download the latest stable version of Opera (in case you don't know, it's a Web browser, and if you don't like it, you can ditch it whenever you want); save it to your Desktop
2) Reboot your Mac in Safe Mode by keeping the Shift key down on startup until you get the Apple grey backdrop AND a progress bar. Once this shows onscreen, you can lift your finger from the Shift key
3) Once in Safe Mode, you are not connected to the Internet (unplug your Ethernet cable before you do anything), and only the basic OS X kernel extensions are running, so try and install Opera on your regular user account
4) Plug your Ethernet cable and try to connect to the Internet (you should be able to)
5) Unplug the Ethernet cable, and reboot normally
6) Once your Mac is up and running, try browsing the Web with Opera
7) Let us know of your progress (or lack thereof...)
The point of installing/using Opera is that it doesn't yet exist on your system, so it can't have corrupt plist preferences files and the like. Installing it in Safe Mode will prevent whatever is playing with your Internet connection from wreaking havoc with install.
Finally, for all its flaws, Opera is probably the safest Web browser there is. I've never been hijacked once in all the years I've used it, even when using Windows as my primary OS (see, you CAN turn to the Dark Side of the Force and come back!)
Keep us posted!
