Endless installing upgrade 1 of 1 when logging off

For quite a while now when I have the computer plugged in and go to log off I get a message that says not to power off or unplug the computer because upgrade 1 of 1 is being installed.  It always takes time to install, and never seems to result in a permanent fix.  Once in a while it goes away for  a couple of days after several upgrades are installed - but then it returns.  What is going on and why does this never seem to get installed once and for all.  Or can I just ignore it.

Hi -relsi,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Notebook and failure on trying to do 1 update. Try performing a hard reset. When performing a hard reset please note remove any and all USB devices, and remove memory cards from the card reader slot. Disconnect all non-essential devices. If that does not help try to turn off any virus protection to do the update. You could try click the Windows icon, type services in the Search box, and then click or tap View Local Services. Scroll down to the Windows Installer. Startup type should be - Automatic, and Service Status should be - started. Restart the computer after this step and try installing again.
Hope this is helpful.
Thanks.

The ear file contains the front end application from where the reports are called. I have created a new J2EE instance and deployed the application in the form of ear file there.
After tuning the opmn.xml file following Metalink Doc. Id 261867.1 adding a value of pingtimeout, I found the OC4J_BI_FORMS was not shutting down the inprocess reports server and I was unable to generate reports by giving values from URL. But when I deploy the ear file in the newly created J2EE instance, the OC4J_BI_FORMS is shutting down . Now when I try to start the infrastructure components the OC4J_SEcurity is showing Database dependancy failed although OID and HTTP server components are up.

  • Going to a particular page when logged off

How can I control what page to go to when I hit the logged off icon or link? I know how to set the default page after logging in, but what I don't know is how to set the default logged out page?
Can anybody help me with this?

If you want everyone to go to the same page when they log out, you can set a default page for the public user by editing the portal user profile for the PUBLIC user. You set the default page for this user and upon logout, that is the page that is navigated to.

  • Do i need to turn off keyboard when logging off

If you shut down the iMac and the keyboard is a wireless keyboard turning it off will preserve battery life. The same goes for a wireless mouse.

  • Script error "object required" when log off

I have created a new user and assigned the "Everyone" role to it. I log in to the portal using this new user. Then I press logoff. Then I press OK. Now I get the script error below:
    line:91
    char:8
    Error: Object required
    code:0
    URL: http://.....
any idea why I get this error?
note: I don't get a logoff error when I use the administrator or other user IDs.

    Hi,
you are using a customized masthead. InSP14 SAP changed some Javascript and therefor, the "object" your are colling in your logoff() function is missing. You'll have to comment out this JS call in your masthead. Check the IE error message explanation, it will show you the line where the error occurs.
I've already posted the solution in this forum, but unfortunately, I'm not able to find my previous post

  • Erasing User Data When Logging Off

    Hi,
At our office multiple people use different computers. I am looking to basically clear the desktop and erase saved PW's in saffri and chrome and such when the user loggs off.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

The Guest account will auto-erase itself, so if that will be sufficient, you could try that.
(Guest is not simply an account name, it is a specific type of account that wipes itself at logout.)

  • As of 3/30 when using the App for Facebook, when I log off of Facebook, it keeps me permanently logged into Facebook. If I use Safari to log into Facebook, I have no problem logging off. Is there a problem with the Facebook App??

As of 3/30/13, when logging off of Facebook using the Facebook App, it will not log me out. It is now permanently keeping me logged in. No problem logging off of Facebook when I do not use the App. Is there anyone that can tell me why this is happening and what I need to do to Logout of Facebook. I like using the App for Facebook but I also want to be able to log off, I do not like to stay logged in.  Is there something different with the latest Apple software I downloaded a couple of weeks ago, IOS 6.1.3?

it also could be something different, if you try google hangounts. change password and log out it still recieves notifications. its how apples handles the "channel" notification system for apps that recieve notifications or do backroung sync, and im sure at some point that security hole will be a hijack point.  i think its called XO auth. and is why it can maintain session even after an apperant logout
if you go to the app and it shows you have logged out but are still recieving notifications then that is evidence of the bug.
also look and find the option for "keep me logged in" i remember in the past that would allow a autologin after logout. also if the app does NOT save the logout status correctly in its "memory" the above refereced system will auto login you with the XO app authentication.
if there really is no keep me logged in option. then what crh24 said, they designed it delibertly to keep you logged in. though i never remember a problem on my ios 6,. are you on ios 7, bunny hop?

  • Freezing Around Logging Off or Sleeping

I have noticed that occasionally (probably on average around once every one to two weeks) my computer will freeze around one of the two following events: logging off or the computer going to sleep.
When logging off, my computer will sometimes freeze after I select log off from the Apple menu. This is characterized by the mouse pointer not moving (maybe this is different than the computer freezing). I can even log back in, but the mouse pointer still doesn't move. The only way I have been able to resolve this is by holding the power button down to manually shut the computer down.
When going to sleep automatically, the computer also sometimes freezes. In this case the computer goes into a state like when the computer screen sleeps, but the entire computer doesn't sleep (the white light comes on, but doesn't pulse). The fan begins spinning significantly faster. However, I can't wake the computer. The only way I have been able to resolve this is again by manually shutting the computer down.
It doesn't seem like these two occurences would be related at all. Also, short of an occasional 'unexpected quit' in an application, my computer seems to function properly, and the freezing incidences are relatively infrequent as I mentioned.
Any ideas as to why this might be happening or how to fix the situation would be welcomed.
    Thanks, Joshua213

    Hi Joshua213!
How much space is available on the Hard Drive?
    Have you run Repair Disk?
Also you should perform system maintenance procedures.

You're apparently talking about the System Configuration utility (msconfig.exe).
    I don't understand your questions.
I have noticed when logging off Safe Mode you have to select the Normal Boot option I guess.
I don't even understand that. Does "logging off Safe Mode" mean booting normally? And please use the language that you see on the screen.

  • Error 1628 when installing upgrade of Fixed assets

'Error 1628' Failed to installed is occuring when installing upgrade of Fixed assets to PL100.

    Dear Lisa,
In order to try to resolve the issue, please do the following steps :-
    1. Go to Start   > Run   > %temp%, then delete all the files present in
    the temporary directory.
    2. Then Reboot your machine.
    3. Reinstall the FA addon as per following:
o  Start SAP Business One. Log on to the appropriate company.
    o  Choose 'Administration' -> 'Add-ons' -> 'Add-on Administration'.
o  Remove the add-on(s) from the company by marking them and
       clicking the left arrow button.
    o  Choose 'OK'.
    o  Close SAP Business One.
o  In Microsoft Windows, choose 'Start' -> 'Control Panel' -> 'Add
       or Remove Programs'.
o  Check if any SAP Business One add-on(s) are displayed in the
       list.
o  If an add-on is included, uninstall it by choosing 'Remove'.
o  Using Windows Explorer, locate to the add-ons installation
folder. Depending on the different versions of SAP Business One,
the default installation folder is 'C:\Program Files\SAP
       Manage\SAP Business One\AddOns\sap' or 'C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP
Business One\AddOns\sap'.If you chose a different folder during
the installation process, locate that folder. Delete all
subfolders (folders named like the add-ons) and, if present, the
"_common" folder (which contains the framework for add-ons).
o  Locate to the SAP Business One installation folder. The default
       installation folder is 'C:\Program Files\SAP Manage\SAP Business
One' or 'C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One'. If you chose a
different folder during the installation process, locate that
       folder.
o  Open the following files : 'AddOnsInstall.sbo' and
       'AddOnsLocalRegistration.sbo' in Notepad and
delete the imformation related to Fixed assets only,
        then save the file.
Note: If you only installed fixed assets ,that means no other add-on installed ,you can completely Delete   the above files.
    o  Start SAP Business One.
o  Log on to the appropriate company.
    o  Choose 'Administration' -> 'Add-ons' -> 'Add-on Administration'.
o  Reassign the add-on(s) to the company.

  • When I log off, there is always an update waiting to be installed but the wheel just keeps spinning and nothing happens .

For the past two weeks, whenever I've logged off there has always been one update waiting to be installed. I found this curious, so last night I waited to see what would happen. The wheel just kept spinning and spinning--and pretty obviously the update was not installed. And now the update is still waiting to be installed. (Only in the last instance, when I was checking to see what happened, did I power off the computer. In all the previous instances, I found the computer OFF when I checked the following morning. However, the update had obviously not been installed.) How do I solve this problem? Thanks.

    That is the security software. This is what I posted at Microsoft;
    =============================================
I had an issue with my Win 7 Microsoft Security Essentials. Windows update
would download the upgrade, but the upgrade could not install. After many
hours of searching help sites and web search engines, I finally found out
what the problem was. Somehow, Windows lost the install information
    file. And without those files.......<br>
    Go to
'''''[http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall Fix problems that programs cannot be installed or uninstalled]'''''
and check it out. I ended up using the Fix-It program to manually remove
two programs called Microsoft Security Client. Don't forget to first download
the current Microsoft Security Essentials first.
