Endlessly spinning wheel in Viewer Builder
Hi everyone,
We just Tried to produce a new App woth Viewer Builder. unfortunately the process seems to be hang up. Every step went fine and the production process started successfully.
But the productn never ends. It's about three hours now, and the wheel still spins. Also after we rebootet the Mac.
We were able to produce the App with a second job, which successfully ended after acouple of seconds (as it usually is). So we don't have a pressure here in terms of time.
Still we don't want a broken App with a spinning wheel in our Viewer Builder. Especially because we are not the only ones from the company that use this account.
Is there a way to stop this broken process? It's not possible to end or delete it.
Or is there anyone, who I can contact because of this issue?
Thanks in adavance,
Richard
Yes we are using the newest version. A client of ours is experiencing the exact same problem with a completely different setup (different location, different mac, different accounts, different app)
Maybe it has something to do with the ftp server restart AdobeDigitalPub mentions on twitter
(@richardbrammer is it still happening? We restarted one of our servers earlier this morning due to slow FTP transfers.)
Bets regards,
Richard

Endless spinning wheel on shut down
If I boot up and do not initiate any software and then shut down, shut down occurs normally. If I initiate any software, I get a blue screen and the endless spinning wheel. I tried the repair disk and repair permissions from the startup disk, to no avail. This is something that began just recently, possibly with upgrading to 10.6.7 but I'm not sure. Safe boot makes no difference either. I am running on a 2.8 GHz, i7, quad core.
Thanks,
JacobHi Jacob,
Just to do a quick rundown on what you have done so far in terms of troubleshooting:
Repair Permissions.
Verify the start up disk. Does the disk utility indicates if "Macintosh HD appears to be OK"?
Boot from installer disk and use the" Repair Disk" option.
Now a few questions:
When you mean "initiate any software", do you mean like initiating software update or app such as Safari or iPhoto?
When was the last time you installed something on your computer?
I think you have done everything in regards to avoid a total system reinstall. But before we go with the steps of reinstalling the OS, I will suggest one more step, since you mentioned that the problem might have arised after installing 10.6.7.:
Reinstall OSX 10.6.7. Update via Combo updater:Get it from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1361
Report back after installing the combo update.
About combo updates as a trouble shooting steps (from Cnet):
Combo
Apple's Combo updater includes all the files necessary to bring a major release of OS X from any previous version to the one represented by the update. For example, if you have the OS X 10.6.7 Combo updater then you can use it to update any Mac from any version of OS X Snow Leopard to OS X 10.6.7.
While Software Update will also provide you with this option, the Combo updater, like the Delta updater, is more universal and can be applied to any Mac system, regardless of its hardware or software configuration. Additionally, it can be reapplied to a Mac that has already been updated. Because of this, a Combo updater is frequently used when troubleshooting odd problems in OS X since it can be used to essentially replace a number of system files with fresh ones, without requiring a full reinstallation of OS X.

Checking for mail is an endless spinning wheel
When I check for email, I get the spinning wheel and "checking email" that gets hung up and will not change until I hard shut down and start up again, when all of my emails will appear. I have switched out several phones and it does not change the problem.
I have the same problem. the "connecting..." wheel spins and spins at the bottom of the mail program, but i can tell (from the lack of a spinning data wheel at the top of the screen) that no data is coming or going. if i exit mail, the internet seems to work fine. so i am convinced it is a problem with the mail program.
I have an old 8GB iphone, not a 3G. though the problem seems to have only begun since i installed the new 2.0 firmware.
I find that a reboot solves it, only temporarily. Though as others have noted, it happens too often, multiple times a day, so I don't think rebooting every time the problem occurs is a feasible solution.
anyone else know what the problem may be? could it be a problem with the 2.0 firmware?
thoughts? fixes? -
HELP ENDLESS SPINNING WHEEL FREEZES PREMIER PRO
When I open Pr it loads content, gives me the yellow content not loaded screen and then freezes with the spinning wheel. many times. help... project due friday NEED to export
Hello Naviira,
please read all my proposals first, so you can better choose the first step:
1. Maybe you have to activate/deactivate, so please have a look there:
http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html
2. Sometimes, we know in the meantime, the "opm.db file" is the culprit. In this case you should delete it.
3. Did you already try "uninstalling and re-installing"? Be careful with (de)installing aso. by (de)installing by your own resources. As much as I regret it and as strange as it may seem I fear it's a challenge for Adobe's Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. Sometimes - for whatever reasons - CC doesn't "want" to work. In this case you should CC completely delete and reinstall by help of Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. (A try to uninstall by own resources is not enough!)
I quote: Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool helps resolve installation problems for Adobe Creative Cloud and Adobe Creative Suite (CS3-CS6) applications. The tool removes installation records for prerelease installations of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications. It does not affect existing installations of previous versions of Creative Cloud or Creative Suite applications.
Please use: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html and follow the prescribed sequence of operations
4. If necessary and for further questions click through http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html or http://helpx.adobe.com/de/contact.html and if "open" please use chat, I had the best experiences. I quote from Preran: The chat button is activated as soon as there is an agent available to help.
Good luck!

Downloaded iTunes update to my Mac mini (2007). Pressed restart but computer is hung up on a gray screen with a spinning wheel. Doesn't respond to power switch. Disconnected but returns to same screen when plugged back in.
FWIW, have a look at this user tip.

Logout: white screen + endless spinning wheel
Hi,
We're using our 2011 IMAC at home with 4 users of our family; each of us has it's own login. When one of our kids logs-off, he turns to get a white screen with a spinning wheel (not always, but undefined frequently). The problems seems to be initiated after the Mavericks 10.9.4 patch, but still exist after 10.9.5.
Please help, as the only option we have is to restart the machine every crash.
Also no error log has been saved...

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -
My iMac 17" Intel core duo - 2 GB RAM, 160 GB HD - will not become fully operational. The Finder menu bar appears but none of my desktop icons, including the Macintosh HD icon.
When I click on any of the menus, the only response is the little multicolored wheel. It spins for a minute or two, then becomes the arrow. If I then click an icon, the wheel again starts spinning.
The Menu icons on the right end of the menu bar function[Fax; Airport; Flag; Sound; Time & Date; Spotlight], but not the icons on the left end [ File; Edit; etc.].
What's going on?
Thanks.

Firstly, does everything work in another account? If you don't have one, its worth creating another admin account anyway.
If so, your hunch may be right - possibly trying to generate previews & not enough room to display htm all. If Spotlight is working, press Ctrl Space (or whatever you have as your shortcut keys - even click the spotlight symbol) and type in Activity Monitor. Use the arrow keys to navigae to the application and return to launch and see what is taking up the CPU time. Could be Finder if it is struggling with all the images.
By the same method, you could possibly launch Terminal. If you can, you could navigate to your desktop folder (with the command: cd \desktop) and list what is there (with the command: ls -l) to identify whether there are a large number of files. You can hopefully then delete them all using the wildcarded rm command (be careful using this command - type man rm and read the instructions before doing anything).
If you can't launch anything you could probably do the same from another admin account but permissions are a problem and I don't know enough to advise.
Someone out there may have a better idea anyway

Endless spinning wheel on starting Mail 2.1.3
The Activity Viewer shows that 'Fetching new mail' never completes it stalls at the last message on the server. The mail application will only quit when forced. Each restart of Mail re-downloads the same messages from the server as the previous restart. Restarting the computer does not solve the problem.
The only unusual event that I can think of that may have precipitated this problem was that I attempted to send an 18 Mb itunes file as an email attachment. I had to force quit the Mail app in an attempt to interrupt the send.Hi Jeff, and a warm welcome to the forums!
Did you try the steps above?
Also, how much free space do you have on your HDD?
Try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
Feel free to start a new topic if none of this helps, as more helpers will drop in, here's the link...

Crazy! Never happened to me EVER, not even close and I've been using and administrating macs since 89. Upgraded all my macs, incl the MBP of my nephew; MBP Retina, MacBook Unibody (hybriddisk), MBP 17" + Mac Mini (thunderbolt) ALL ultimately needed reformating drive and fresh install to get up & running again, hours of extra work! All identical freeze displaying apple logo but no spinning wheel. Could start all in recover mode but could not from there remedy whatever fault there was. 3 of the macs more or less (Retina & MacBook) identical equipped software-wise but MBP 17" very sparse software (belonging to computer-"illiterate" so no fancy software. The latter had Lion so in that case as opposed th eother macs this wasn't an incremental 10.8.1->10.8.2 upgrade.
I have upgraded all macs fresh via internet so no upgrade via downloaded install file on for ex usb-unit.
Any ideas?? I'm really frustrated and disappointed, this cannot be a freak occurence!I have no helpful reply to give you except moral support: I'm having the exact same problem (going from 10.6.8 to 10.8.2 on a 2010 MacBook Pro.) I have tried reboots, reloads, disk repair, permission repair (between each attempt I reloaded from a clone). Also tried loading it, then repairing from Recovery mode, then restarting. Endless spinning wheel at the Apple logo as 10.8.2 attempts its first startup every time.

BSP(htmlb) - spinning wheel interact between two views,
hi all,
if i click button in first view it will opens second view . The second view contains some more data's so it takes too much time to dispaly datas, in mean time i want to give spinning wheel or some process bar in between two views, how can i give,
Thanks & Regards
Bala.EHi Bala
We can achive this by 2 ways.
One way you can check the standard example "HTMLB_samples".
In the example HTMLB_samples i can explain what is happeing taking the example of page
a) breadcrumb.htm and
b) breadcrumbSample.htm.
Here when we click the link in the left(Samplelist.htm) page, the page Defaultright.htm will be rendered.
The defaultright.htm is calling breadcrumb.htm and load.htm.
The breadcrumb.htm in turn is calling the page breadcrumpSample.htm(Before it is calling the load.htm page is shown in mean time). For this to happen below code is kept in breadcrumb.htm page.
<htmlb:form method = "post"
action = "breadcrumbSample.htm"
target = "coding" >
This is how the loading icon is comming.
Other Way of doing is.
From the first page navigate it to a intermediate page which has the loading icon. From this intermediate page you can navigate it to the Second page which you want it.
Thanks

Spinning Wheel lockups when trying to view Java ap: Am I causing it somehow
I have safari version 2.0.3. Anytime I try and view the Java trading platform for more than half an hour I get the spinning wheel of lockup.
Am I doing something wrong or is Safari just not ready yet to be a serious business browser?????
thanks....Apparently Apple has improved Safari's Java component to adapt better and I am no longer locking up on my trading charts.
By the way, listen for the next nut case terror threat from the flakey middle east, last time on March 23 the Spot Gold market sky rocketed 14,800 pips and ended May 11.
Apparently the nut cases over there invest heavily in currencies, gold and silver and then issue some threat, the market goes crazy and they become wealthy. One commentator on business news estimated that the nut case president of iran made over 20 billion on the last threat he made while laughing at the world. Interesting that only two or three nut cases have complete control over the entire world market.
oh well, thanks Apple for fixing a flaw. -
I have been downloading all photos from my Nikon to iphotos. Recently I have not been able to get into my iphotos for anything. I pull it up and immediately the colorful spinning wheel appears and I can't do a thing. The only way I have been able to get out of it, is by turning my mac off and restarting. As soon as I go into it again, the wheel repairs and I have let it stay on for hours and it doesn't clear it either. Can anyone help? Thanks! M
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

Cannot viewe plug ins and update status on 35.0.1 just a spinning wheel
I was fine yesterday. today, trying to check plug in status, update page on 35.0.1 and I just get a spinning wheel. Just need to know if it is a problem with FF and the newest update or me. Cannot find help anywhere. I see where folks have had 32 and 35 same problem. thank you
Please try and check directly using Adobe's site if you have problems with https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/ { It is working ok for me right now.)
There are or have been known issues with Mozilla servers recently[https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/711040?last=63882#post-63882.] I guess highly publicised issues requiring FlashPlayers updates have increased loads.
* This shows most services https://status.mozilla.org/
Check your Flashplayer is up to date by visiting '''''http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/''''' separately with each browser.
* See also [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems]]
You will be able to get round the block simply by allowing the plugin Shockwave to activate, but if you see that block it is because you need to update for security reasons. -
What can I do to resolve this. I have an iMac ios 10.5.8. After I view a video on youtube safari crashes almost all the time.
Attached is one of the grequent reports I get after it does crash. Also, I get that spinning wheel often as well moreso this past year. Any advice would be great!!!!

You have several thing at play. The first, most likely to cause a crash, and easiest to fix is that you have Safari in the wrong place:
Path: /Users/Rich/Desktop/Safari.app/Contents/MacOS/Safari
You have the Safari Application on the Desktop but, to work correctly, it must be in the Applications folder :
Path: Macintosh Hard Drive > Applications.
Second, you have some third-party plug-ins or extensions that can cause trouble. Try deactivating DivX---it is known to prevent videos on Apple's web site from working. Also turn off the EverNote extension until you as sure everything is stable. Check for an Evernote update.
See how things go with Safari in the proper place and with extensions turned off. Then turn extensions back on one at a time and test for stability
The fact that you are running Flash 10.3 makes me think you have a newer iMac than covered in this forum. PPC Macs can run no higher than Flash 10.1, so you may be in a forum for models older than yours. Do "About this Mac" from your Apple menu and see what the processor description reads. If it includes the word "Intel," you should post future questions here:
iMac (Intel)
There is also a separate forum for Safari troubleshooting regardless of what model Mac you have:
Safari
Please post back to update us on your progress.
