Endnote in Palm Pro

Dear friends,
I would like to know if I buy a Palm Pro will it be possible to run Endnote? Is there any emulator to solve the problem in case of incompatibility?

Palm Pro - How To Export Contacts?

I've got a Palm Pro, and I, for the LIFE of me, can't figure out how to get my contacts to show up on my Windows Live account, nor on an older version of Outlook (from Office 2000).
When browsing the phone on Windows Explorer, where is the contacts list saved? Is this what I need to export? Sync-ing the device does nothing as it doesn't send any info to Windows Live or Outlook.

What OS is on your computer? XP or Vista?
If using Vista, you need to use Windows Mobile Device Center instead of ActiveSync to sync with Outlook. Here's a link:

Palm Pro & Outlook 2010, Windows 7

I am wondering if Palm has made any fixes since I've read through a # of older posts regarding this issue. I have a new computer, Windows 7, Outlook 2010 and cannot get my Palm Pro (sprint) to sync at all. It appears as though Palm has not supported Outlook 2010 in the past however I am trying to find out if anythign has changed?

Palm Pro and Windows 7

Anybody have any success syncing their Palm pro with windows 7. My understanding there is no software that works. either Palm or Microsoft drop the ball on this one. I am taking mine back to sprint, I didnt go to buy a stupid phone! I hope Palm READS THIS

What exactly have you tried? I'm assuming you'd like us to help, but without giving us any information as to what software you've downloaded (Windows Mobile Device Center), what version of Win7 (32bit or 64bit), or any error messages received, your post appears as just a "rant"...

Palm pro wont sync with outlook 2003 and windows device manager? Files e.g. word docs or excel files sync o.k. but i need my contacts and i only get a error that there is sporblem with my desktop computer.
I am using vista and i have all updates installed.

Do you have windows mobile device center installed(WMDC)? If not download it from here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx
Be sure you download the correct version for your PC. If you have 32bit OS or 64bit OS. To find this out, right click on Computer under start and select properties. Near the middle it should say 32bit or 64bit. If you know you have the correct software. Open up the control panel and go to sync settings. Right click on the partnership you have setup and select delete. On your device go to Start-->Programs-->Activesync-->Menu-->Options tap on Windows PC and select Delete. Then once both are done resetup your partnership. But this time uncheck everything. Then once it is done syncing. Go to Mobile device settings and change content sync settings and select Contact. Click save and let it sync. Do the same for calendar, tasks, and notes but leave the last item checked. So when Contacts are done syncing you go and check Calendar and leave Contacts

So I have a new PALM PRO, I love it so far. HoweverI can't access the internet when out and about. Only on WIFI. I have the H showing it's receiving a data connection, however the device won't connect to the internet. If I click internet explorer, it's a white screen, if I click my www.skyfire.com browser, (which I love) it says trying to get a connection etc. So, I called ATT, they don't have the PRO in their system yet and could only help so much. DOES ANYONE have the settings for ATT so I can put them in, proxy, etc, whatever needed to make a internet connection to my wireless provider? (ATT)

Slow Palm Pro

I have had my Palm pro for about 2 months now. I told everyone how much I loved the phone. Now for the past week my phone keeps freezing. It use to open apps like email or messaging, or instant messaging before I could snap my fingers. Now it takes more than 30 seconds. I have checked my task manager and I am running at 49%. Since I got the phone is has been running at 49%.
Any suggestions on what it could be or how to get my phone working again. It freezes to the point that I have to remove the battery (i am now up to 3 -4 times a day!!)

1. Take the back panel off to expose the reset hole.
2. Press Power to turn on the screen.
3. While pressing and holding End, use the tip of the stylus or a small paper clip to press and release the Reset button.
4. Continue pressing and holding End until the Erase all data? prompt appears.
5. Press Up.
6. Wait for the progress bar on to fill up, then you can use the device again.

Errors synching Palm Pro Using Outlook 2000

New: Palm Treo Pro 850 Old: Palm Treo 600 Using Outlook 2000 Vista O/S
I am trying to do a one time synch using Outlook 2000 to transfer the data from my old Palm Treo 600 to my new Palm Pro. When I plug in the new Palm, Windows Mobile comes up and asks if I want to set up my device. I click yes to get Outlook Contacts, Calendar, etc. and get the error message:
Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
When I searched the error message, I found my Outlook file may be corrupted so I deleted Outlook from my regedit and reinstalled according to directions from Microsoft. This is not fix the problem, I still get the same error message. As long as I am getting that error message, Windows Mobile will not allow me to synch anything other than Favorites, everything else is greyed out.
Please - can anyone help?

I assume you are using Palm desktop 6.2. To verify the version, go to help-about in Palm desktop for the version number.
Are you using Windows Vista or XP?
Outlook 2000 will not work with 6.2 on Vista. You need Outlook 2002 or higher.
If you want to use Outlook 2000 on Vista, you can use Palm desktop 4.1.4e. Here is the link for the download for 4.1.4e.

You will need to "clean" uninstall Palm desktop 6.2 before installing Palm desktop 4.1.4e.
Let me know the version of Windows you have and I can provide the uninstall instructions.

Palm Pro-Key Caps

Can anybody tell me where I can find a keycap program for my Palm Pro? I used one for my Palm Centro, but I can't seem to find one for the Pro. Thank!

I doubt that anyone here has inside information on Verizon's handset selection process. The Verizon phone that is the most similar to the Treo Pro -- Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, 320x320px touchscreen, front keyboard -- is the Samsung Saga. Perhaps they don't think they need two similarly specified devices?

Palm Pro 850 Questions

I am having problems setting up Handmark "Pocket Express" on my Palm Pro( Sprint). It doe not seem to register for some reason after several attemps I removed the software and downloaded current version from Handmark's site. now it just tries to process the registration, but after waiting for over 15 minutes I give up and exit out. Then I will get a notification the next day that it needs my phone number to process. I entered my number, zip code, carrier, and accepted the the terms when I try registering. Has anyone else had this problem?
My other issue with Sprint radio. The information that came with my phone states this device supports sprint radio, but when i go into Sprint TV is does not have radio as an option. Is this a mistake or is there something that need to be downloaded? Thanks for any information anyone has.

Palm Pro won't connect to Windows XP via USB

I can't get my Palm Pro to connect to windows XP. When I connect it, via the USB connection, it prompts that it has found new hardware, however the ActiveSync portion fails and nothing happens. I've uninstalled & installed the software twice and even dug into the registery to make sure it was completely cleaned out. Futhermore, it connects to my laptop at home no problems. Firewall is disabled.
Thoughts?

In device manager you do not see any listing for the Palm or Windows Mobile device, but you see the DM jump or blink. When you connect the USB cable, do you get a beep-beep low then high, or a triple gong sound. The triple gong sound would indicate that the connection is established, but the device is not recognized. You may have a driver issue that require a clean uninstall / reinstall. I am guessing that you did try another USB port. Here are the steps for the clean uninstall / reinstall:
Full uninstall of PD on XP:
You should first make a copy of your data to have just in case something
happens. You can find your data files by going to C:\Program Files\Palm or
Palm One. Highlight your Palm Desktop username and right click and copy.
Then go to your PC desktop, right click on a blank spot and select paste.
If this is the first time you are installing Palm desktop and encountering a problem, skip the previous step.
For Palm desktop 6.2, look in the following location for the folders and files, my documents, PalmOS desktop. You will find the username folder in this location.
Now you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove everything that has to do
with Palm Desktop from your computer. Like the above folder, delete the Palm folder. Once this is done, you will need to delete some registry keys
from your PC Operating System registry.
Word of warning, going here and deleting the wrong thing can cause your PC
to not start up, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel
you are unsure of yourself, see if you have a friend that can help you or a
PC technician that you can pay to help you. This will show them everything
they need to delete. To retain your current Registry settings, we need to do a backup of the Registry.
On the PC, go to start and run type "regedit" without quotes
Highlight MY COMPUTER, go to File --> export. Should pop up with a Save As
box. Current location is fine should be in My Documents or you can change to a location you will remember. In the file name box, type "Regbackup[todaysdate]" i.e. Regbackup07072008. Next, the hard part.
The easiest way to make sure your working with the correct key, highlight the key i.e. palm quick install, and press delete on your keyboard. It will ask you, are
you sure. Say yes. Do the same thing for all keys below.
If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician.
BUT do not turn off your computer.

but if they are delete them)

Next reboot your computer
Then reinstall your Palm desktop from the CD and do a hotsync. If it asks
you for a username and you synced your device before, put in 'test" if you
did not sync before you create a hotsync name.

Palm Pro keeps locking up

I have a Palm Pro that keeps locking up. It seems like it happens when I go into an area where the signal is weak and then when I get signal again the phone is locked up and no button will wake it up.
The only way to wake it up is to remove the battery and reboot the phone.
What can be done to resolve this issue?

This first thing that I would do is remove MacKeeper - it's shoddy, shady malware.

I'm not saying that MacKeeper is the source of all your problems, but it's a good place to start in diagnosing what is wrong.

Palm Pro locks up IE on Internet Share

I have a new Palm Pro and after I set it up for internet share on an XP Pro system it will do great 1 time, After disconnect my system will show all is ok but will not allow IE to display pages. I have to do a system restore back to before I installed 4.5 Sync and then again works 1 time. I tried on a Vista system and it works fine. What is the conflict with XP Pro and Palm's OS? Today the Palm started to vibrate and had a blank screen. remove the battery and did soft reset I lost my contacts but that appears to be it. This is my first smart phone and I am still in the learning curve stages.

I can't tell from your response whether you tried my suggestion. Usually Windows XP tries to connect to all the available networks, but sometimes you have to give it a nudge. One way to give it a nudge is to use the Repair command for the network connection that isn't connecting automatically. Another, more involved method is to log off and log back onto Windows (without restarting Windows completely). I was suggesting the easiest way, but if that didn't work, you could try logging off and on again.

Note: if you use the Intel widget for your wireless connection, rather than the Microsoft widget, it should have its own repair option.

Problems with Palm Pro

Hello, Im not sure if this is the right forum, but I'm in desperate need of help. A friend brought me this phone from U.S. but I'm in Ecuador and there are no Palm Service Centers here. Also tried to find a way to contact Treo though email but was unable to.
Me and my husband been trying to figure out some things about how to use the phone for 2 months now and of no effect. It seems like there is a problem with the phone, my husband thinks that its possible that windows have to be reinstalled, is that possible to do?
Some of the problems are that windows live almost never synchronizes on my phone. I've tried installing facebook using all sorts of ways, nothing works. I went to the website and followed directions that said "
On Start, flick left to the App list, tap Settings> Email & accounts. " But I was not able to find "email and accounts" on my phone following these instructions.
I used to have a "lock button" on my phone, but then it just disappeared.
Lately, when I connect the phone to my computer I have to manually locate the Windows Center program whereas before it would pop up automaticallly.
Also I cant figure out what's the deal with the camera, it used to take normal decent size pictures but now they are microscopic in size and I cant find an option on my phone to change picture size. Nor do I understand why all of a sudden it changed in size without my permission....I had to delete all the latest photos because of their ridiculous size.
Another thing I dont get is when I get a call from unknown number and then try to save it on my sim card then only options I get is to save it either to Windows Live or Outlook, in order to save to SIM card I have to go to contacts first and enter the phone manually. What's the deal with that? In addition, some of my saved contacts are not being recognized and when the person calls the number shows as "unknown".
This is by far the most difficult phone I've ever had. I'm not expert in electronics but I dont think this is me, because my husband has been trying to figure out how to use it and he couldnt do anything about it either. He's got Iphone, we both use same phone company and have internet on our phones and he's got no problem with his phone like i do.
Anyone got any ideas what I can do? Please help.

Windows is stored in the phone's ROM. If you "hard reset" the phone (you can get direction in the Support section of this site for Phones > Treo Pro > Unlocked) then your applications, your data, etc. will be erased and the software should be restored to its original condition. But of course, this is a last resort.

Windows Live Hotmail? Are you setting it up as an Exchange ActiveSync account? I haven't tried that myself.
The directions you have for Facebook sound as though they might be for a different device, or a later version of Windows. If you go to http://m.facebook.com/ from your phone, you should get a download link toward the bottom to install the Facebook app. I haven't tried it myself.

To change the camera resolution, try this: start the camera, aim at something, then press the Up button on the controller. You should get a button bar that lets you increase the resolution. Whether it will become the new default, I don't know.
