To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging

</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

Hi,
If you only add one file into the excluded files and locations, does this error still appear?
Could you reproduce this error on another system?

    Br,
    Ashish Sangawar

If the installation is started, the easiest way to stop a running installation is by killing the installation process (in most cases msiexec.exe). This can not be done via the Configuration Manager Console.

  • [Forum FAQ] Three helpful ways for analyzing Inventory issues in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager

To troubleshoot issues related to Inventory, we can view the related logs or force a full inventory to analyze the reason. In these article, we mainly introduce
the detailed ways to enable Verbose and Debug logging,
save the inventory report and force a full inventory on the client.
How to force a full inventory on the client
    1. Open wbemtest and connect to “root\ccm\invagt”.
    Figure 1.
    2. Click “Enum Classes…”and then click “OK”.
    Figure 2.
In the Query Result, you can view the cache for each entry. (Figure 3)
    {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000001}
     Hardware Inventory
    {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000002}
     Software Inventory
    {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000003}
     Heartbeat
    {00000000-0000-0000-0000-0000000000010} File Collection
    Figure 3.
    3. You can highlight the entry that contains the action you want to force a full to be sent and click “Delete” to delete it:
    Figure 4.
    4. Close all wbemtest dialog boxes and initiate the appropriate action in the Client Agent Action to perform a full inventory.
    Figure 5.
    How to enable
    Verbose and Debug logging
It is also helpful to trace the flow if you enable Verbose and Debug logging on the client,
    Management Point and Site Server.
To set verbose/debug logging on an SCCM client or
Management Point, you can simply edit (or create) the following registry keys:
    HKLM/Software/Wow6432Node/Microsoft/CCM/Logging/@Global/LogLevel to 0
    HKLM/Software/Wow6432Node/Microsoft/CCM/Logging/DebugLogging/Enabled to True
    Figure 6.
    Figure 7.
On the site server, you edit the following registry key to enable verbose logging and then restart the SMS_Executive (or the state system
    component):
    HKLM/Software/Wow6432Node/Microsoft/SMS/Components/SMS_STATE_SYSTEM/Verbose Logging – Reg_DWORD set to 1
    Figure 8.
How to save the inventory report
To force the ConfigMgr client to save off a copy of the report that it sends to the Management Point, you can create an empty folder/directory under the inventory temp directory
    called archive_reports.sms.
Then edit the following registry value to point to the inventory temp directory:
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\SMS\Mobile Client\Inventory\ Temp Directory
    Figure 9.
    Figure 10.
From the figure 9, you can see that the temp directory path is C:\Windows\CCM\Inventory\Temp. After we run the hardware inventory Cycle again, you can see the report file is
saved in the path we have defined automatically. (Figure 10)
    (Note: Please delete the
archive_reports.sms folder when have finished the troubleshooting steps to save disk space.)

    Hi,
I have troubleshooted this error message several times and can say that this is a generic error message. The reason can be different in your Case. As suggested in the error message you should first check all the steps in the following kb article.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2742275/tr
In most of my cases the performance counter corruption was the reason of this error message there fore I would suggest you to first check the System and application event logs for performance counter corruption. Right click on the System event > Find
    and search for corrupt.
Additionally it is also mentioned in one of the MS kb articles that deploying winrm policies on Hyper-V Host is forbidden in a SCVMM environment.
If this is the reason in your Case you should disable it. No other chance.

    Cengiz Kuskaya

  • Remote Control System Center 2012 Configuration Manager

Hi all, first post on the forums.  Was wondering if anyone was having a similar issue.  We are slowly testing SCCM and I'm stuck on probably the most important feature, remote control.  Whenever I "Start Control" of a workstation,
the remote control agent window shows "Connecting to Host Session" which brings up another prompt that alerts me that "The identity of the computer cannot be verified..." to which I reply "yes" to connect anyway.  However
I never connect and in the remnote control agent window shows "Viewer DIconnected".
On the client itself, in the CmRcService.log file, even though it shows that "Session allowed full control" and that I'm an "authorized viewer", later on I see "Disconnecting the connection.  An existing connection was forcibly
closed by the remote host.  (Error: 80072746: Source Windows".  One line below, the log reports "The connection has been terminated".   Note I do not have a Firewall Policy enabled and I do not have any stringent virus protection
running.  Currently testing on Win7 x86 machine but also happens on WinXP, Server 2008 x64 and x86, etc.  Any have a resolution or idea why this is occuring?  Any help and/or guidance would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks all.

  • Configuration issue on two items for system center 2012 config manager

My first issue was at the beginning of the install trying to extend the AD schema for system center 2012 config manager version 7.5.1561.0. The
path is missing for SMSSetup\Bin\x64\ to execute
Extadsch.exe is not on my disc. There is only a x86 and 64 bit folder with no bin.
Second issue when creating configuration manager connector. Error connecting to the database. So i went to my sqlserver and checked the permissions on the account I did notice that there are no smsdbrole_extract role permissions. Did I miss a step somewhere
along the way? On a side not that this is an instance and not under the default place. Also, i am using sql 2008 R2 version.

OK, nothing wrong with that per se, but it has nothing to do with ConfigMgr. Also, ConfigMgr is not a "module", it's a distinct product unto itself with its own unique requirements and dependencies that is also architecturally completely different. So,
there's nothing to uninstall to install ConfigMgr. Also, I hope you're not trying to install these products on the same server. That is OK for a small lab environment, but nothing more. Even then, I wouldn't do it since its never something you'd do in production.
As mentioned, each product has its own unique dependencies with no true overlap.

I received error in opsmgr console "Failed to send notification" the alert state (Microsoft.Rtc.Signaling.ConnectionFailureException: Unable to establish a

A fatal alert was generated and sent to the remote endpoint. This may result in termination of the connection. The TLS protocol defined fatal error code is 10. The Windows SChannel error state is 1203.)
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Please checked the setting of the IM channel, ensure the Protocol is TLS and port is 5061.
Also try to create the following registry key for a test. If the issue persists, check the event log from SCOM side.
    New Key: SHA
    Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Hashes\SHA
    SubKey: Enabled

I would like to know if there is SCSM 2012 SP1 MP available for SCOM 2007 R2 ?
I downloaded the "System Center Monitoring Pack for System Center 2012 - Service Manager" MP from
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29980 and then import into SCOM 2007 R2, however, I found that there are some MP dependencies issue.
For example, the "Microsoft System Center Service Manager Library" MP requires "Microsoft SystemCenter Library" and "System.Health.Library" MPs of version 7.0.8427.0. Howerver, the "Microsoft SystemCenter Library"
and "System.Health.Library" MP in SCOM 2007 R2 is of version 6.1.7221.0

The Creative Cloud application becomes inoperable continually on both my Windows 7 and 8.1 operating systems. I'm tired of re installing the application after deleting the OOBE file to get updates and syn settings between computers for Photoshop. Is this an endemic problem with others? I'm using Google Chrome as my browser. Is this an issue with the problem?

Similar problem just happened to me with the Creative Cloud Update 1.7.1.418—slightly different so I thought I'd share. I have multiple Adobe Creative Cloud programs installed on my computer, all working just fine. I updated the Cloud App to the latest version and then it shows me that I have only one program installed! All my previously installed programs (Photoshop and the like) still work but show as "install" instead of "Up to date". Initially I thought I'd have to re-install the Cloud app or recreate the OPM data base but then I noticed that some of the Cloud app preferences (Apps > Settings > App Language) were different to what I had set previously. I use English (International) language, the update had reverted the app back to English (North American). I flicked back to my previous language and bam, all my apps now show as being installed correctly.

  • Why buy System Center 2012 Operations Manager (how to convince my boss)

    Hello
I need to put together a document to try and convince my boss to spend the time/money to move from SCOM 2007 R2 to SCOM 2012 R2.
One of the areas I want to focus on is Cross Platform (Unix/Linux), Network Monitoring and APM
Does any one know of any good documents/short videos showing the benefits of SCOM 2012 R2 which a view to selling the benefits to a line manager (also have a very sceptical Unix/Linux team).
Perhaps someone else has already been through this loop, and has such a documents :)
    Thanks

    Hi AAnotherUser:
Here is a recent video on managing SUSU Linux with SCOM 2012 R2:
    http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=video+system+Center+operations+manager+Linux&qs=n&form=QBVR&pq=video+system+center+operations+manager+linux&sc=0-0&sp=-1&sk=#view=detail&mid=F6243978D517D71C1A74F6243978D517D71C1A74
I can assure you this level of ease of monitoring applies to all supported Linux versions not such SUSE.
This video focuses on the dashboarding features in SCOM, it might convey the value you are looking for:

  • Failed to import drivers System Center 2012 Config Manager on Windows 2008 R2 Datacenter

Hello, I am having a problem importing Surface Pro 3 drivers into SCCM 2012 on Win2008 R2 Datacenter for OSD.  I get the message that the selected drivers are not applicable to any supported platforms.  I know there was a hotfix for SCCM 2007
and Win7 only drivers.  Is there one for SCCM 2012 and Win8.1 drivers?  Or is there something else I need to be looking at?  Everything I find is for SCCM 2007 not 2012.  Any push in the right direction is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Please check the answer of the thread below to see if it can also resolve your issue.
    Quote:
They verified that this is NOT an SCCM 2012 Issue,  but is in fact an issue with the underlying server OS of (in this case) Server 2008 R2 SP1.  There is a known bug with inf file verfication: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/979492, but the hotfix
    doesn't currently fix it.
The workaround is to edit the Manufacture section of the affected inf files, and add NTx86.6.1.1 to the line, like this:
    [Manufacturer]
    %Microsoft% = Microsoft, NTamd64,NTx86.6.1.1

  • Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 - Exclude files and locations == Exclude processes??

    Hi,
I have a server with Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 installed.
This server is running Backup Exec. I have created an files and folder exclusion pointing to:
    C:\Program Files\Symantec
There are various references online like this one
    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH74529
Which highlight excluding the processes rather than what I have done...
If the process is inside the Symantec folder is there any technical difference between using the files and folder exclusion as opposed to the process exclusion?

Yes, the difference is that excluding the folder location will only exclude the folder and the child items of that specific location from scanning activity whereas excluding a process will exclude any activity by the process regardless of location. So,
with a process exclusion, if that process under C:\Program Files\Symantec produces activity in C:\Windows, the activity will be excluded from scanning, but if you just have the C:\Program Files\Symantec folder excluded, the activity in C:\Windows will not
    be excluded.

  • System Center 2012 Operations Manager - Which do I need Datacenter or Standard license

We are monitoring around 1,400 SQL, Sharepoint, and BizTalk servers with about 30% of them being VM.  All of our SCOM infrastructure servers will be VM (4 MS servers, 1 Reporting server, 1 Web server), with the exception of the DB servers being
    physical.
What I need to know is; do we need the Standard license or the Datacenter license?
Standard "permits management of up to two virtual OSEs."  What does this statement apply to: target servers with agents or servers in the management group?  Does this mean the standard license can be used for each target server that
is physical or only has two or fewer VMs?
    Thanks

Ends up this was a misunderstanding of how licensing works.  I assumed it applied to the management servers, but as it turns out, licenses are not required for management servers.
The "Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center" website added to the confusion since it lists Datacenter as a separate download from Standard. With this, I assumed that I needed
to determine up front which version will be used when installing SCOM and the agents.  This was not correct since the download ends up being the same binary.
In the end, as Jonathan mentioned, this was strictly a licensing issue which will be handled by our purchasing department.
Thank you to everyone for your responses.
