Enegaged tone even when other phone rings

provider - sipme (australia).
Changed servers a week ago. Ever since myself and numerous others get an engaged signal after dialing a number. The dialed number rings normally, and if answered connection is fine. The problem is when you dial out you hear an engaged tone no matter if the phoned being dialed is engaged or ringing normally. Provider says the problem is most likely the spa3000. The call progress now uses the 183 call progress signal, the old servers used 180. They postulate the sipura3000 is not interpreting the call progress message correctly.
Anybody have this problem, or know a fix?
Latest firmware installed - no change

on the LINE tab of the SPA3000 there is an option for
Sticky 183 Bool no
If set to yes, SPA will ignore further 180 SIPresponses after receiving the first 183 SIP response for an outbound INVITE.
I just happed to stumble upon this while looking for somthing. hope this helps.

do you mean like when someone calls you, that's what they hear? if that's the case, it may be a ringback tone or feature. i've heard the message that you are describing a few times when i have called people (as opposed to hearing the ringing sound), but i honestly don't know much about it. all i can figure is that it's a "ringback" tone or feature.

When you said you have no fax machines on your line, that does include computers directly connected to the phone line?
The reason that I ask is a computer with a dial-up modem (a non broadband modem) that can connect to your phone line, can have software that makes the computer act as a fax machine.

Short answer is you probably cannot. Once water gets inside the device and it is powered on, the damage likely is permanant.

Check http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5419 and be sure both ends of the connection are properly updated.

My 4s continues to lose wi-fi and reverts to 3G even when the phone is 4 ft from the router.

My 4s continues to lose wi-fi and reverts to 3G even when the phone is 4 ft from the router. Is this a defect in my phone? It happens when I am home and I switch to my wi-fi. It doesn't matter where the phone is in relation to the router. Please note, I have my phone set to NOT sleep. Does any one know why my phone reverts to 3G? I have to manually set it to wi-fi every time this happens.

I have the same issue with my iPhone 4s. It was not an issue when I was using iOS5, but it started once I upgraded to iOS6 and the recent update of iOS6.0.1 did not fix it. Judging from the release notes, Apple thinks this is only an iPhone 5 issue, as they say they fixed it for iPhone 5's.
I have an iPad 2 (iOS6.0.1) and a 3rd generation iPod touch (latest iOS5 release), as well as an Apple TV 2. None of the other devices have this problem and they are all on the same network.
Something interesting... my iPhone 4s works fine on the wifi where I work. At home, it continually turns on and off. My home network is using a Netgear router (WNDR3400) and the iPhone is connecting to it using WPA2+PSK protocol. Hopefully, this information can help Apple figure out the problem.
(I remember my iPod Touch having a similar issue a few years ago with iOS 4, when I had a different Netgear router using the same security protocol. I think iOS 5 fixed it for the iPod Touch... I wonder if some Apple products have an issue with Netgear Routers using that encryption.)

Did you set up a custom ringtone for a specific contact? Is it that contact that calls with the wrong ringtone? The default only applies to contacts that don't have a ringtone specified.

Answer the call using the bluetooth device instead of swiping to answer on the phone. If you swipe to answer on the phone, it assumes you intend to use the phone instead of the bluetooth headset.

BB Z3 screen not showing up, even when the phone is on

Got a new BB Z3, however am facing some issues with it. While the phone is on, the screen does not show up, it shows as if the phone is switched off, but when I try calling from a landline to my BB the phone rings but the screen is turned off and I am able to take the call.
But after a few hours the screen turns on and I am able to work normally
Please let me know of how this problem could be solved.

Wow..I just tried it again right now, and for some reason it worked this time,
even though I did it exactly the same way as I was doing it all morning.
I am not going to question why,
I am just happy it is working again.

Macbook Pro cannot connect to the internet even when others can

Hi! Please help me. We have an internet WIFI connection in our office but only my MacBook Pro cannot connect even when I entered the correct password. My Iphone and Ipad work just fine. It says "connection timeout" but all other laptops can connect. I tried network diagnostics already and it always say "connection timeout". I dont know what to do anymore.

Yes, and when I open the Network Utility it shows a working IP address, and a 54Mb/s speed from the wireless router. It even shows the shared computers from my roomates. But when I try to access the internet it does not load anything on Safari or Firefox ( or any other internet application for that matter). It is completely unconnected. YET, As soon as I activate the AirPort card on the top right where I have my signal strength, it shows on the Network Utility information that there are 'packages' being sent and received, and I have NO programs open what so ever, I have closed everything except finder and network utility... Does this mean I am being hacked, or have some sort of Trojan or something in my computer? I ran an antivirus that my school provided, called Virex by McAfee, it came out clean except it says it cannot read one file.
I tried repairing my disk, and that did not work either. I did the Ram reset like you suggested, but that also did not work. I doubt it being a hardware error. I am going to try to connect it to an ethernet cable to see if that will work. Then I will let you know what happens with that, but that would still not be a solution since I need it wireless, cause the router is in another part of the house.

Most likely the problem is that you are operating both the AirPort's wireless network and the portable phone in the same 2.4 GHz radio band. This is a known problem and, as you found out, the main symptom is loss of connectivity during a phone call.
There are several potential fixes for this:
o Change radio channels on either the AirPort or the phone.
o Change radio bands on either the AirPort or the phone. The newer 802.11n AirPort will operate in either the 2.4 or 5.0 GHz bands. There are also portable phones that operate in either the 900 MHz or 5.8 GHz bands.
o Use a non-portable phone.

Are you certain that it is locked to Orange?
Regardless, Apple does not lock devices, carriers do.
If the carrier refuses to unlock the device there is nothing that can be done.

I Use Rokform but that is for the mounting capabilities. For the best front/back and fall protection I recommend the otterbox defender for iPhone 6. Not sure about shipping to India but you could always use a freight forwarding company. Hope that helps!
