Energizer Energi To Go Portable Power for iPod

I was just wondering if I could use the Energizer Energi To Go Portable Power for iPod with my iPhone. The reason why I'm asking this is because I'm going to be on a 19 hour flight and I know that my battery will run out by then (watching videos, listening to music) and I just want to make sure that it wont screw up my iPhone. I've been looking at other battery powered chargers and I want one that I can keep on putting batteries in, and this one was the only one i found from a reputable company... any help would be awesome!

A couple of years ago I bought a little device called tunejuice. Think it was from everythingipod.com. I bought it for the same reason, long trip, and it worked fine. I suspect they make something similar now for the 30 pin ipod, ipod touch and iphone.
I was wondering about the energizer power to go also. Sounds like it doesn't really work. Anyone?

  • Power for IPod Touch

I am contemplating buying an Ipod Touch. I reviewed the contents of the box it comes in, and there is no charger listed. Does the Ipod Touch run on batteries?? does it get its power from the USB connection?? Thanks for the information.

USB charging is quite slow. You will want to buy a wall outlet charger for the ipod at your favorite electronics store. Charges so much faster than the USB trickler...

  • Portable Power for Mini?

I am thinking of using a Mini for a "Direct Capture" video device. Plug a DVI to Composite adapter to a 7 inch LCD, firewire to the camera and Viola...Now I just need some way to power the whole thing in the field...Anyone have any suggestions?
    Thank you!!!

Personally I think you'd do better with a laptop - not only designed to be used away from a conventional power source and thus run from batteries for several hours, but also self-contained and designed for portability. I suspect a base model MacBook would be less expensive than a Mac mini, 7" LCD, adapters, suitable battery and inverter, and likely run longer and give rather better overall video quality.
That said, there have been a number of users over the lifespan of the mac mini who have used them mobile. Googling for details of how that has been accomplished may well help, though in most instances would likely be using the 12v car battery with inverter - not a particularly mobile solution away from a car.

  • Portable Station for iPod

    Hey Guys,
I plan to buy an iPod touch with 32 Gigabyte. For this iPod I want to by some Accesouirs and a portable Dockingstation. But I have no idea wich Dockingstation would fit. Can you help me?
    The Dockingstation should:
-charge it self whyle connected with Ac!! So that it doesn't need batteries (important!)
    -charge the iPod
    -have a great sound
what would fit best for me? I would go until max. 200$
    Thank you!

Go to the Apple store : http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shopipod/ipodaccessories?mco=OTY2ODQwNw
Or some other store and look at the options. Look for options that are compatible with ipod touch.

  • Portable headphones for ipod that are both wireless and noise-cancelling?

Does such an animal exist? Been googling all over the place but can't
find anything that is both...wireless and active noise cancelling.
The only thing that does come up in answer to such a google search appears to be headsets for cell phones.
I'd be very interested in any suggestions.

Any wireless headset for an iPod would require some sort of dongle as none of the iPod range have bluetooth (and, I don't believe that the iPhone supports the bluetooth stereo profile, though I could be wrong). I believe there are a few out there but I've never heard of ones that are also noise cancelling. You might check out the accessory section on iLounge. The review lots of off beat iPod accessories.

  • Electrical power for iPod while watching videos...

I was wondering if there was a way to leave my iPod connected to my MacBook while watching videos on my TV so that the iPod draws power from my MacBook and not the iPod battery. I don't have a universal dock, so I don't want to completely drain my battery while watching the videos on my TV.

If you use an A/V cable from Apple or third party ( some thrird party cables require you to swich the yellow and red at TV) from iPod mini plug and get an Apple or third party power adaptor (which will work with your USB cable that came with the iPod) it should work fine.
As to playing Video and Music from iPod and using the your MacBook as the power source I think that would also work, it may be better to frist eject the iPod but leave it attached.
Why would you not just play stuff directly to TV from the MacBook and only use iPod when the laptop is not available?
The best way to do what you want is to get thhe A/V kit from Apple or a third party A/V dock and cable. There are several listed on the Apple store on this site or at iLounge (http://forums.ipodlounge.com/).

  • Portable Power Supply for iPhone 3G

    Hi,
I am looking to buy a portable USB power supply for my iPhone 3G.
I will be flying next month, so I need something to provide additional power while I am in the air.
I have searched around, and found:
IGO® POWERXTENDER UNIVERSAL AA BATTERY-OPERATED CHARGER
    http://www.thesource.ca/estore/product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&catego ry=iGo-HO&product=2739104
IGO POWER TIP-A133 (adapter for iPod/iPhone)
    http://www.thesource.ca/estore/Product.aspx?language=en-CA&catalog=Online&catego ry=iGo-Tips&product=2739128
I live in Canada (so I can't buy from places such as Amazon.com) and would like to keep the cost to a minimum (I don't fly all that often).
I am wondering what people recommend for an affordable portable power supply, that accepts USB?
    Thanks for your time.

There is power lost when using these chargers. Loss due to current creating heat in the wiring, loss in the iPhone battery that is being charged due to resistance in the battery, and loss due to the semiconductor devices used to manage the charging process. Not all of your 1000 mAh "ends up" in the iPhone battery.
I said "more than half" and that is literally true but a little pessimistic sounding. Maybe 70-80 percent. But I do not know. It will not be 87 percent. That's still good, to me.
Here is a quote from the instruction sheet for my 1200 mAh Richardsolo battery:
"If you have a 20-30% charge remaining in your iPhone, a fully-charged backup battery will bring the iPhone back to about a full charge. Once your iPhone is below 20% remaining battery charge, you may
not quite get a complete recharge from the backup battery, but close."
I find those percentages to be about right.
Regarding Amazon review, I think that is true only for an iPhone that is only partly discharged, not completely discharged.

  • Specific Power Requirements For iPods?

    +(Yes I searched, no I didn't find this information.)+
I am looking for specific power requirements for multiple iPod models; 1st-Generation iPod touch, 5th-Generation 80GB Video, 3rd & 4th-Generation iPod nano, and 2nd-Generation Shuffle, to be precise.
I am not looking for the obvious information found on the Apple site, such as charge times and USB vs. FireWire. I need more accurate data such as exact mAh and wattage input requirements for each iPod. I know I have chargers that will satisfy the needs of the nanos and 80GB but leave the 1st-Gen touch wanting and waiting for more. At the same time, I do not wish to overload the smaller iPod models like the shuffle.
I have searched Apple.com and the Apple forums as well as Google, but I cannot find this information anywhere.
Please help! I am trying to find suitable alternate power supplies such as solar, crank, and AA/AAA-battery backup sources and I want one that will work with all of my current iPods and hopefully future iPod purchases as well (to include many current iPods). Thank you!

I don't have the info you need on the iPods.
But I have an AC charger bought originally to use with another brand of mp3 player. After I got my iPod, I didn't see the point in buying another AC charger if it would work with iPod, since the company (Griffintechnology) also makes some for iPods. (Of course, I would have to switch out the USB cable to the one that works with iPod, but that's easy enough.) I couldn't find the info on their web site or on Apple's, so I emailed Griffin, and they told me it was safe to use with the iPod. So far, so good.
So I would suggest emailing the maker of the chargers you already own, to check on compatibility. I know Griffin makes them, as does DLO. As far as AA/AAA rechargers, we recently got one from www.adrenalinetechnologies.com (haven't yet used it, though) that's supposed to work with multiple iPod models, and they have multiple adapters and such for different things.

  • IPod touch 4th gen won't restore or power on after dropping it on its back "waiting for ipod"

My iPod touch 4th gen was recently dropped on its back after playing with its case. It turned white, then powered off.
After that i tried restoring and now everytime itunes stays on the "waiting for ipod" step.
I know that all functions work because I successfully entered dfu mode many times, and the lcd powers on but the progress bar doesn't move while itunes says waiting for ipod.
Thanks for looking at my thread and sorry if i misposted (first time apple forum user)

Something has been jarred inside. Anecdotally, people have reported success smacking their device again, to maybe rejarr things back into working order. But doing that is your call since it could be defined as abuse.
If it's physically damaged inside, there may not be much of a user fix for you to try unfortunately.

  • Using iPhone with portable players meant for iPod

Is it supported to use iPhone with stereo players meant for iPod? (Bose/Klipsch)
I put my iPhone in the dock of my Klipsch player that I listen to my iPod with and immediately it screeched feedback through the speakers. Should I just assume that iPhone isn't compatible with these types of players?

The screeching is GSM interference/feedback. If you wanted to use the iphone with the speakers, try placing it in airplane mode first. That will keep the phone features turned off and keep the interference from happening. On the downside, you won't be able to receive phone calls during that time.
I would think that they make "supported" speakers, but pretty much the only difference would be that the speakers would be shielded to keep the feedback from happening.
