Energy Saver Panel: Machine not automatically starting up in the morning

My blind server (MM) is set to start every morning at 06.00. (via the 'Schedule' button in the Energy Saver control Panel).
It works most mornings, but every now and than it does not. Any ideas as to why?

Anybody any idea as to why this happens?

ADFS 2.0 service does not automatically start after reboot

Hello,
We have two ADFS 2.0 servers in a farm. Any time these servers reboot, the ADFS service does not automatically start, even though the service is set to auto start. If I manually start the service it starts within 10 seconds.
The error in the logs show:
A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the AD FS 2.0 Windows Service service to connect.
The AD FS 2.0 Windows Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
But after the reboot is completed, I can manually start the service with no problems. Again, this ONLY happens on restart. I've searched the forums and found potential solutions for people who have consistent issues with starting ADFS every time.
Any ideas?

UPDATE - I built a 3rd ADFS server and was unable to reproduce the problem, until...
I went in to the service properties of ADFS and saw that even though I specified a Log On As account during the ADFS wizard, it changed itself back to "Network Service". I re-entered our ADFS service account username and password, it was
accepted, and I rebooted. On the next reboot, the service did not start automatically (with the same errors as the other ADFS servers), but I was able to manually start it.
I then went to the original ADFS server having the problem, switched it to use "Network Service", rebooted, and the service started up properly on reboot. I then changed it back to the named domain service account, and the issue came right
back. There are no other errors in the System Log indicating a problem with anything else.
So my guess is that something is happening to prevent the service from starting with the named Domain account on server reboot. But what?

Energy Saver panel not working-Mac drive keeps powering up

I have a 17 inch "Lampshade" iMac running 10.2.8. I have set the preferences in the Energy Saver panel to put the computer to sleep after about 15 minutes and to put the hard drive to sleep when possible. But it never happens. I'm sitting in the room with the computer now and about every 5 minutes I can hear the hard drive spin up for about 30 seconds, then it stops. When the drive is not spinning, I can still hear the computer is on. What exactly is sleep mode, for both the computer and the drive, and should the hard drive periodically start up when it should be sleeping? If not, how do I get my machine to really sleep? Hi! HERE is some info on sleep. Putting the hard drive to sleep is really something I avoid. It will last just as long by never letting it spin down and the computer will come back to life faster. i would let the display sleep but only after 30 minutes or so or even 15 if I consistently left for long periods. The life of a hard drive now days is usually given in start/stop cycles which is more hard on one than running it 24/7/365. I run all my stuff 24/7/365 except for the monitors which I let sleep after 30 minutes idle. Tom

OWB job is not automatically starting

I exported the mapping from server and imported into another server. All the mappings are working fine. But the scheduled job is not automatically starting.
Here is the status.

did you try to "enable" scheduled mapping directly from OWB Design Center (or Control Center Manager)?
For enabling job from OWB client - rightclick on Control Center name and choose Job Monitor, in opened window select Schedule tab, select your job and "start" it.

OSX 10.4.11 doesn't recognize APC Back-UPS BE550G, no UPS tab appears in Energy Saver panel, how can I get safe shut down at power outage?

Can't figure out how to solve this puzzle: the battery backup [APC Back-UPS BE550G] doesn't show up in the Energy Saver pane in a UPS tab nor beside the clock and Spotlight; will the (1 min. then shutdown) settings of the Saver be supported by the APC battery if there is a power outage or significant surge?
This new back-ups came in a box stating compatibility with OS 10.3.9 – 10.4.9. Am I out of luck with 10.4.11? Isn't the OS itself able to set prefs for an UPS?

did you install software and if so, where did you get it? I am running 10.7.4 and when the unit is plugged in via the ethernet usb cable, I can see ups in the control panel, but have no other control. I am media managing a television shoot and we need to set up our workstations pronto.

I don't know exactly what they said b/c they are nolonger on my screen. It said something to the effect of "incomplete dowload, there was an eror during the dowload of *Song*".
The songs purchased were showing in my purchased list with an "exclamation point" by them, which I believe indicates the download was incomplete. I restarted iTunes and the songs are no longer on my "Purchased list".
I was still charged after restarting iTunes

Unfortunately, when this happens, Time Machine cannot erase enough space to create room for the new backup. Your options now are:
1) Add a new Time Capsule or a hard drive to the USB port on the existing Time Capsule and continue with backups
2) Manually delete backups from Time Machine....which is a long and tedious process. After a few hours, not much space will be reclaimed and it will not be long before the Time Capsule is full again
3) Erase the Time Capsule....if you really do not need all the old backups from months ago....and start over with a new Time Machine backup and move forward again

I know that you can't use the VMM settings to setup the Automatic Start action, and the Cluster Hyper-V setting only specify the "shutdown" action.
How can I make sure that after a an event like a power recovery affecting all my node that all my Hyper-V role will be started?Thank

If the population of the ObservableList (independent of any UI considerations takes a long time, then you probably want to do the populations off the JavaFX application thread (e.g. via a javafx.concurrent.Task)).
If you do populate the list in a Task, standard threading cautions apply in terms of not updating items in the scene graph off the JavaFX application thread and ensuring that the system is absent of race conditions, etc.
Look over the documentation of http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/api/javafx/scene/control/Cell.html and that may help you.
The JavaFX controls such as ListView have been carefully designed to exhibit high performance even when backed by extremely large lists (through the concept of virtualization explained in the Cell documentation). For example, if the backing list is updated but the portion of the list being updated is not within the currently displayed list contents, (I would hope) the update would be very efficient.

I have an even simpler method. I use MyPublisher to print my books. I select their page layout for a two-page spread, drag and drop the image. DONE! I understand that most people have their favorite places to have work done. I have been extremely pleased with MyPublisher.com, so I haven't even tried the book module in Lightroom.

My P62290ea will usually start OK in the morning, but sometimes it hangs on the Windows screen.

I am running Win7 home Premium 64bit SP1. When I start up in the morning usually the PC loads OK. However, often it hangs on the Windows screen and I have to reboot and sometimes it is OK and other times I have to go via the HP srart-up screen. This inconsistency is very confusing and frustrating. Can anyone help?

You have a frustrating issue to troubleshoot because of the randomness. We can try troubleshooting, but hard to say if it fixes it or not for a while.
Try putting the computer into a clean boot state, you can find instructions on this forum thread, http://goo.gl/w3KQH.
Once in a clean boot state see if you can get the problem to happen
If it does then we know it's not a program that is starting up causing the issue instead it is likely a driver.
If it doesn't then one of the programs that was booting when Windows boots was causing a conflict, the trick is figuring out which one.

Energy Saver Display Sleep Not Working

I have a late 2011 MBP with an external 27" Apple display. Was working great under 10.7.
After upgrading to Mountain Lion the monitor will not go into sleep mode regardless of the Energy Saver settings. I can keystroke the monitors to sleep but they won't enter sleep automatically.
I've tried PRAM and SMC reset.
Any ideas? Bug for Apple? Anyone else having this problem? I've found at least one other guy online with a iMac that's having this problem.

So this seems to be working now. No software updates or other changes. The only thing I did different was to lock the energy saver settings. After that it started working.

Time Machine Not Automatically Running

This seemed to start a few days ago. My Time Machine works fine, but for some reason it's not automatically doing the hourly backups. I can manually run the backup, which I do several times a day, but it won't start automatically.
Haven't made any software changes. I've done the Software Update, restart, with no luck. I looked around in the Time Machine preferences but didn't see anything useful.
Anyone else ever experience this?

No, but that does not mean you do not have a problem.
I think the first thing I would try is trashing the preference file (com.apple.timemachine.plist) and then restarting.

Energy Saver preferences will not open

I can't get Energy Saver preferences to open. I think I've had this problem since I upgraded from 10.3 (Panther) but I rarely use these prefs and so can't be sure. When I click on the Energy Saver prefpane it says "Loading Energy Saver preferences ..." but it does nothing more. I found a post which said the problem was in .GlobalPreferences.plist. I deleted both the System/Library and User/Library copies and rebooted, but with no result - Energy Saver Prefs resolutely will not run. Does anyone know what the cause might be ?

Ok... next step, back up your documents/music/images/video and do an Archive and Install:
