Enforce static Singleton from Abstract/Interface??

Hi,
I'm trying to describe an interface IMyInterface which enforces all concrete subclass implementations to have a singleton "getInstance()" method whose method signature is always this "getInstance".
So declaring the interface
Interface IMyInterface{
public IMyInterface getInstance();
is fine, BUT in subclasses you can't override this method with a static class method.
ie.
public class X implements IMyInterface
private static X instance=null;
public static X getInstance()//ERR cannot override with static??
if( instance==null)
instance = new X()
return instance;
private X(){...}
I thought about using an abstract superclass but this doesn't strictly enforce subclasses to implement their own singleton class-method.
Why can't you override the method as a class-method?...and any ideas how to achieve this enforcement of the implementation of a singleton??

If you have an abstract base class with the method
public static Singleton getSingleton()  {
       return getSingletonImpl();
}where getSingletonImpl is an abstract method
protected abstract Singleton getSingletonImpl() ;This forces subclasses to provide an implmentation of the getSingletonImpl method.
However you cannot guarentee that the returned Singleton is actually a singleton

    For access over VPN you need:
    management-access inside
    and don't forget:
    ssh inside
    http inside
    I'm guessing you forgot to grant ASDM (http/https) access to the IP addresses used by the VPN?  Can you SSH?  If not, that is your problem to solve first.

  • Use of abstract interface

    I have a series of questions....... Go through.
    What is the use of abstract interface in java ?
    What is the use of static object in java ?
    What is the use of abstract key word to variables ?
    Object reference passed to method are final. Can ' t we change it ?

    class Testing {
         int i;
    public class RefFinal {
       public static void f ( Testing t1, Testing t2) {
           Testing temp;
           temp=t1;
           t1=t2;
           t2=temp;
           System.out.println("value of i in t1 =" +t1.i);
           System.out.println("value of i in t2 =" +t2.i);
       public static void main( String args[]) {
          Testing t1 = new Testing();
          Testing t2 = new Testing();
          t1.i=10;
          t2.i=20;
          f(t1,t2);
          System.out.println("value of i in t1 =" +t1.i);
          System.out.println("value of i in t2 =" +t2.i);
    }      Here the code explain why?

  • Line Output From Audio Interface Mutes When Connected To HDMI

    Hello Apple Community,
    As my first post to the community, I would like to shed some light on an issue I have found no answer to on the internet or support lines. I have spent a great deal of time self-diagnosing and over the phone with technical support for all devices in question.
    Problem:
    I have no sound when connected to HDMI. The problem is not exclusive to HDMI, as I bought two Mini DisplayPort adapters (HDMI & VGA) -- neither of which resolved my issue.
    Hardware:
    MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) - Intel i7, 8GB RAM, GT 650M Graphics
    Audio Interface - Started out with a PreSonus AudioBox 2-In, 2-Out. Now it's a Yamaha Steinberg UR22 (2-In, 2-Out)
    Powered Studio Monitors - Yamaha HS7 (Pair)
    External Display - Vizio 37", 1080p TV
    At first glance, it may sound like my problem is simply that I'm not set to the correct audio output when I'm connected to HDMI. However, this is not the case. With both audio interfaces, I double-checked that the output did not swap to HDMI when plugging in. Many communities believe this is a ground-loop issue with anything from my interface / speakers, to the HDMI cable itself. When I spoke to an audio specialist from Yamaha, he assured me that grounding issues were not the case. He said that ground-loops will only cause noise (hiss, static, hum, etc.), not a complete mute.
    Thank you,
    Matthew Morris

    Okay, so Steinberg responded after 6 days to set up a call time. Three days after that, I finally received the call. Yes, 9 total days.........
    Jeff from Steinberg went over all of my issues and went through a whole diagnosis. At the point where I got rid of the stock Yamaha XLR to TRS and used some unbalanced instrument cables I had laying around, the monitors worked! Jeff and I narrowed it down to either bad cables or (more than likely) bad XLR ports. I believe the ladder because the possibility of receiving 2 bad cables is less likely than possibly a single XLR port having a faulty ground or something--which would lead to the above issues.

  • BPM Abstract Interface for IDOC?

    Hi all,
    I am doing an IDOC XI File scenario with BPM.
    I have created an Inbound Asynchronous and an Abstract Interface for the LEGACY SYSTEM(Target Message).
    I didn't create any Abstract interface for the IDOC(Source message).
    I am getting this error:
    <b>"Expression must return the interface type DEBMAS.DEBMAS06.DEBMAS06".</b>
    Do I need to create an Abstarct Interface for the IDOC?
    According to the above error, BPM is expecting an ABSTRACT INTERFACE Type for the IDOC.
    Experts need help from you.
    Thank you,
    Joslyn.

    That mapping is an dummy mapping between Idoc to Abstract Idoc Type. Here Sender Idoc Interface is mapped with Reciever Abstract Idoc interface.
    So inside the BPM, Abstract Idoc interface acts as a Container variable to collect the idocs.
    For simplicity-for collection of idocs
    You can see, BPMPatterns from the SAP BASIS Software Component in your XI Repository.

  • Transformation Abstract interface

    Hello , i am using a message transformation step in BPM where msg 1 thats input for this map is xml and output is being mapped to a IDOC.
    Now since in BPM i have to use abstract interfaces and how can i relate this abstract interface in transformation step with the IDOC. Can i create the abstract interface and then relate it to IDOC and use it in BPM ?
    Krishna

    Hi Krishna ,
    in message mapping just - drag and drop - the IDOC_type from your node "imported objects"
    Thats all.

    Although the documentation for the 12.4 beta claims support for the ABSTRACT INTERFACE feature, it's not clear whether the support is full or partial.  The following code fails to compile with sunf95:
    module mod1
      use iso_fortran_env
      implicit none
      abstract interface
      pure function i_f(x)
      real :: i_f
      real, intent(IN) :: x
      end function
      end interface
    contains
      subroutine iterate(f, x, y)
      procedure(i_f) :: f
      real, intent(IN) :: x(:)
      real, allocatable, intent(OUT) :: y(:)
      integer :: i
      allocate (y(SIZE(x)))
      do i = 1, SIZE(y)
      y(i) = f(x(i))
      write (OUTPUT_UNIT, '("y(",I0,"): ",G0)') i, y(i)
      enddo
      end subroutine
      pure function square(x) result(res)
      real :: res
      real, intent(IN) :: x
      res = x ** 2
      end function
    end module mod1
    use mod1
    implicit none
    integer :: i
    real, allocatable :: x(:), y(:)
    x = [real :: (i, i = 1, 10)]
    call iterate(square, x, y)
    end
    The compiler assumes that the passed procedure is a subroutine ---i.e., it ignores the abstract interface.

    This is a bug in the compiler. The problem is not in the abstract interface but in getting the interface from the host scope. To work around the problem, you can copy the abstract interface from the host scope to the local scope where it is used, like this:
      subroutine iterate(f, x, y)
      abstract interface
      pure function i_f(x)
      real :: i_f
      real, intent(IN) :: x
      end function
      end interface
      procedure(i_f) :: f
      real, intent(IN) :: x(:)
      real, allocatable, intent(OUT) :: y(:)
      integer :: i
      allocate (y(SIZE(x)))
      do i = 1, SIZE(y)
      y(i) = f(x(i))
      write (OUTPUT_UNIT, '("y(",I0,"): ",G0)') i, y(i)
      enddo
      end subroutine
    then the dummy procedure 'f' will be correctly identified as a function.

  • IDOC as Abstract Interface

    I am trying to use IDOC structure as an Abstract Interface. We store all our imported IDOCs in a different software component. In Integration Process when I try to define Container Element I am not able to select the IDOC as an Abstract Interface.
    I tried to make an External Definition by importing the IDOC and then trying to build a Message Interface and that did not work too.
    Any suggestions welcome.
    Regards
    Mike

    Hi Michael,
    Directly you cannot use Idoc interface as an Abstract Interface. You have to create Absatact Interface in IR for the imported Idoc and then you can use it to define container element.
    Also check this...
    "An integration process can only reference interfaces from its own software component version."

  • Method in abstract interface

    Suppose I have an abstract interface which has one method:
    public abstract interface IParent {
      public void setSignal(int signal);
    }And I have a concrete interface inherited from IParent which also have one method:
    public interface IChild extends IParent {
      public void setSpeed(int speed);
    }If I define a class which implements IChild it only asks me to implement setSpeed method.
    public class Test implements IChild {
    }Why it does not ask me to implement setSignal method of IParent interface?

    Suppose I have an abstract interface which has one method:
    Every interface is implicitly abstract.
    public void setSignal(int signal);
    Every method declaration in the body of an interface is implicitly public.
    And I have a concrete interface inherited from IParent which also have one method:
    Every interface is implicitly abstract.
    If I define a class which implements IChild it only asks me to implement setSpeed method.'It' being what?
    Why it does not ask me to implement setSignal method of IParent interface?I have no idea what 'it' you're talking about, but the Test class will not compile.

  • Regarding Abstract Interface

    Hello,
    What makes the difference between the Normal Interfaces and Abstract Interfaces. Is there any technical differences between these two interfaces.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    You use a message interface to describe a platform-independent or programming-language-independent interface, which you want to use to exchange messages between application components using SAP Exchange Infrastructure.
    When you create a message interface you define the communication parameters by using the attributes Mode and Category as Sync/Async, Inbound/Outbound or Abstract.
    Message interfaces of this category can perform the role of an inbound or outbound interface within integration processes, depending on whether it is used to send or receive a message. For this reason, no direction is specified during definition. In integration processes, you can use the same abstract interface to receive and send a message. Abstract message interfaces generally receive the message from an outbound interface of a sender system and send it to an inbound interface of a receiver system, thus performing a complementary role.
    BPM can interact and deal with only Abstract Interfaces. And so, if you have a transformation step inside the BPM , the source and target interface will have to be abstract interfaces.
    These characteristics determine the direction of an interface:
    ·        An outbound interface sends a request message that is only used to make a communication party aware of data sent, without waiting for a response message. In the case of the latter, we also refer to publishing interfaces.
    ·        An inbound interface receives a request message that you reply to with a direct response message or whose data you can process in the system without a response.
    Thanks
    Swarup

  • Public abstract interface FilterConfig

    public abstract interface FilterConfig
    what is this class actually . is it abstract class or interface?

    An interface is always totally abstract ???Yes, all methods of an interface can be declared abstract but you don't have to because that's understood. An interface can carry no implementation. It contains only abstract methods and static variables. Also everything is automatically public so you don't have to point that out specifically.

  • Container operations and abstract interfaces

    Hi
    At first, could somebody maybe refer to blogs about how to exploit fault messages in BPM? (how to generate an fault response when a exception is thrown and handled)
    As I could not find a fast way to see how fault messages work in BPM I tried to solve the problem the other way... but run into a problem again. The question is: is it possible to assign values to some elements in an abstract interface type container? Like put into the message a processing code, processing time or some other informative text.
    In a more technical way: container operation allows only the whole container to be the target of the operation, while one can use any part of an container (of abstract interface) to use as the source of operation. Is it also possible to assign a value to a element in abstract interface?
    Waiting for any ideas...

    Hi
    Thanks for Your answer. Still my question is unanswered. As You could read out from my question, I know that such a step exists but the problem is that target can be exactly one container. Its hard to make an example without too much of code samples.
    I agree that if I have containers A and B then I can do:
    A = B
    But if A is of type abstract interface with structure:
    rootNode
    + childNode1
        + anElement as xsd:string
    + childNode2
    and B is a simple type then is it possible to do something like:
    A:/rootNode/childNode1/anElement = B
    As I don't want to change anything else in the response. Any ideas?
    I need to do so because I am not able to throw fault messages as a synchronous interface response (first: there is no way to define fault type as abstract interface, second: send [close S/A bridge] step needs response message only).
    Another way would be to replace response content by inserting fault information but as there is no way but message mappings (transformation step) to change the content of an abstract interface (is there?). It would be a very ugly solution - each fault in BPM shall have its own mapping that generates the whole message... and there would be other issues too.
    Waiting for any ideas on how to solve the problem.
    Any recomendations how to create a SOAP fault answer in BPM are also welcome!

  • Internal class implementing interface extending abstract interface :P

    Confused ha? Yeah me too. RIght here it goes.
    Theres an abstract interface (abstractIFace) that has for example method1() method2() and method3(). There are two other interfaces iFace1 and iFace2 that extend abstractIFace. Still with me? :P iFace1 only uses method2() whereas iFace2 uses method1(), method2() and method3(). Internal classes implementing these are then used. The reason is so that when returning an object one method can be used that will return different types of objects. But this doesnt work. It says that all the classes in the abstractIFace must be used/implemented but I only want method2() in iFace1 and all in iFace2.
    Just say what the f*ck if this is too confusing cos i think it is and i did a crap job explaining!! :P

    public interface IFace {
        void method1();
        void method2();
        void method3();
    public class Test {
        private static class Class1 implements IFace {
            public void method1() {
                System.out.println("method1");
            public void method2() {
                System.out.println("method2");
            public void method3() {
                System.out.println("method3");
        private static class Class2 implements IFace {
            public void method1() {
                throw new UnsupportedOperationException();
            public void method2() {
                System.out.println("method2");
            public void method3() {
                throw new UnsupportedOperationException();
        public static IFace createObject(boolean flag) {
            return flag ? (IFace) new Class1() : new Class2();
    }

  • Abstract interfaces between diff swcvs

    Hi Guys,
    I am designing BPM under my own SWCV. I need to use two abstract interfaces which were defined in entirely different SWCV.
    My scenario is like Proxy-BPM-SOAP. The scenario is synchronus but the Proxy side i have two seperate interfcaes as outbound (Asynch) and inbound (Asynch) instead of a single synchronus interface.
    I have created 2 abstract interfaces for these 2 interfaces and i need to use them under my own SWCV where i am designing the BPM process
    any help would be appreciated
    Thanks,
    srini

    Hi,
    From SAP Help.
    An integration process can only reference interfaces from its own software component version.
    Check this link under the topic abstract interface.

  • Error when attempting to remove static route from ASA 5525x running version 9.0(4)

    Hello,
    I am having difficulty in removing static routes from my ASA5525x, hoping someone here may be able to help.
    Example:
    ASA5525X/pri/act# sh route | in 192.168
    S    192.168.60.0 255.255.255.0 [1/0] via 64.57.xxx.xx, OUTSIDE
    ATLCOLO-ASA5525X/pri/act(config)# no route OUTSIDE 192.168.60.0 255.255.255.0 64.57.xxx.xx
    %No matching route to delete
    There are several which need to be removed, all 192.168.x.x/24, pointing to the Outside interface using the same address 64.57.xxx.xx

    Hi,
    I think i agree with Jon that this is probably due to RRI from the VPN configuration.
    Also , check this output:-
    show asp table routing and see if you see it in here as well.
    We also have some defects so please provide the relevant interface and routing configuration and also the ASA code version.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vibhor Amrodia
