Enforcement State Codes in SCCM 2012
What does Enforcementstate code '5006' ,'5002'... means in vAppdeploymentErrorstatus view ? Is there are views/tables where the Enforcementstate descriptions are present. With these code how can i find the description for the error? or Is there
any other way to find the error description which happened during deployment from the SCCM DB ?Pls Help. I'm new to SCCM.
Hi,
You could have a look on the Enforcement State Message ID table in the following blog.

Thanks Rahul$Hi,
The client cannot verify the signature of ccmsetup.cab. I suggest you check the Trusted Root Certification Authorities in certificate store on the client to see whether a certificate is missing.
Try to enable verbose logging for SCCM client installation. Then check the log to see whether there are some useful information.(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg699356.aspx)

Detection State 'Unknown' in SCCM 2012 Software Compliance Report
My management is looking for windows patches compliance reports from SCCM 2012
When I am trying to prepare Compliance Reports with SCCM 2012 for windows patches, I am noticing that I have lots of patches, where "Unknown" state is showing against many Windows Patches. I was expecting the reports to show “Not Required"
instead of "Unknown".
Please tell me, where the issue might be and how to rectify it.
Thanks in advance. Thanks for your reply Jorgen. Is there anyway I can initiate a " Software Update Scan on all Clients from SCCM Console? If yes, please let me steps- how?
As a test, I run "Software scan from a client and client report back to server. However on WindowsUpdates.log I can see some unhappy logs.
Does it mean that WSUS server and clients are having some issue?

USMT to User State Server (PXE) sccm 2012 r2
I apologize if this has been asked before, but I have spent quite a bit of time searching and not really finding any good material or if it was even possible. Our information security officer wants us to scrub all of our assets during the reimage
process. This eliminates the possibility of doing hardlink USMT through PXE. We start all of our images from PXE and don't make the reimage task sequences available through the operating system
My question is there a way to back up to the USMT server from PXE? We are currently running on 2008 R2 and SCCM 2012 R2.
Thanks for any help you can provide! This thread should answer your above question plus a bit more.

Best, Jacob I'm a PC. -
Getting "Error: 0x80070654" when trying to install SCCM 2012 R2 Console from Software Center
What I did:
Created a Package Source share on the Site Server
Gave the Package Source Share the following Share permissions: SCCM Admins: Full Control, Domain Computers: Full Control, Local Admins: Full Control.
Copied the "Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\tools\ConsoleSetup" folder to my package source (Since the Package Source is actually on the site server, I just copied the ConsoleSetup folder to it that is on the same drive)
Created a package and a Standard Program
Command line: ConsoleSetup.exe
I deploy it to my collection
Run Machine Policy and Reevaluation on my Right Click Tools
Go to one of my clients and open up Software Center and click the Install button
It fails with ""Error: 0x80070654"
I open up execmgr.log on the client using CMTrace and I use the error lookup tool and it shows that the 0x80070654 error is "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer
package"
I also see a red highlighted line in the execmgr.log file with the following entry: "Script for Package:PRI00013, Program: SCCM 2012 R2 Management Console failed with exit code 2147944020"
I can run ConsoleSetup.exe using a command line to the package source.

SCCM 2012 R2 Client only showing 2 items under Actions
I've enable AD Forest Discovery on Primary Site also checked Automatically create AD site boundaries when they are discovered and Automatically create IP address range boundaries for IP subnets when they are discovered.
I didn't change this (default) Disable AD Forest Discovery on CAS.
I am still running SCCM 2007 R3 SP2 in Production environment. Do I need to remove all the boundaries first on SCCM 2007? Before I could install SCCM 2012 R2 client?
The reason that I manually install SCCM 2012 R2 client to my test computers just want to see if the SCCM 2012 R2 client will install without any issues. Right now, there's :(
On my Client Push Installation Properties, I haven't Enable automatic site-wide push installation. I just don't want SCCM 2012 R2 client is automatically pushing it out. Should I enable this? Is there any effect?
Two nights ago, I manually deploy SCCM 2012 R2 client (right click to deploy SCCM Client) to my test Win7x64 Enterprise and Win8.1x64 Enterprise. Until this morning Actions are not fully there (it should be total 11)
SCCM 2012 R2 client (version 5.00.7958.1000) installed but SCEP 2012 is not install (I think there's a problem here) since I checked the Actions button on both of Win7x64 Enterprise and Win8.1x64 Enterprise are only showing 2 Actions:
1. Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle
2. User Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle
I've checked on both of Win7x64 Enterprise and Win8.1x64 Enterprise logs (using CMTrace):
1. CcmExec.log -> no errors
2. LocationServices.log -> Current AD site of machine is Default-First-Site-Name
3. ClientLocation.log -> It knows my new MP (correct one)
4. ClientIDManagerStartup.log -> with errors below
ClientIDManagerStartup.log has lots of RED errors (same one):
<![LOG[RegTask: Failed to send registration request message. Error: 0x8000000a]LOG]!><time="11:26:13.695+420" date="07-03-2014" component="ClientIDManagerStartup" context="" type="3" thread="1716"
file="regtask.cpp:1297">
I am hoping someone will be able to point me to the right direcly, please. Thanks, Reza
Reza PrawirasatyaIdan,
Thanks for the info.
I have check this registry below:
Check in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Mobile Client
It's pointing to my new site code of SCCM 2012 R2 (it's not SCCM 2007 site code).
What I did wrong I deploy SCCM 2012 Client Custom Settings to a collection that I created and also Antimalware Policies to that collection as well where that collection has 0 (none members).
So I deleted and just simply pointed both SCCM 2012 Client Custom Settings and Antimalware Policies to All Systems and all my test computers (workstations & servers) have SCCM 2012 R2 client along with SCEP 2012.
I have more questions below:
What's the best way for me to approach this SCCM 2012 R2 Client push to a test computers (workstations and servers).
I have SCCM 2007 R3 SP2 is still running in Production, currently Boundaries set as IP subnet (not using AD Site, it used but I changed it 2 years ago).
Now, SCCM 2012 R2 Primary Site set Enable AD Forest Discovery with Automatically create AD & Automatically create IP address range boundaries for IP subnets.
Of course, by turning this option above, it will pick up lots of different IP subnets. Even the one our sister company (lots of different domain).
1. In SCCM 2012 R2 Boundary Groups, I set Default-First-Site-Name (AD Site), under Site Systems tab, I have also my Primary Site SCCM 2012 R2 here.
Here's the questions:
1. Do I need to add IP subnet in SCCM 2012 R2 Boundary Groups? Do I need to add let's say 10.xxx.20.xxx (IP subnet here).
2. Also, do I need to delete IP subnet in SCCM 2007 Boundaries that correspond to that IP subnet? Let's say I have 10.xxx.20.xxx (IP subnet here) and remove this one since I have added on number 1?

SCCM 2012 R2 client version 1101 and 1104 queries
There are several samples of collection query code for SCCM 2012 R2 client version 5.00.7958.1000, which is the base R2 client version. Patches can change this to 5.00.7958.1101 and 5.00.7958.1104. But there is a problem. These two patches
display as 1101 and 1104 when you go to Control Panel\Configuration Manager\General tab but when you go to Programs and Features and look in there the DisplayVersion is 5.00.7958.1000--so all query code samples are unable to different between the base versions
and version 1101 and 1004. I have been unable to find out how to write a query that finds version s 1101 and 1104. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks.Use ClientVersion from SMS_R_System within a console query or ClientVersion0 from V_R_system in a SQL query.
Even this can be deceptive though because the agent only reflects the highest version number of one of its subcomponets. This post, specific to 2007, describes the complexity: http://blog.configmgrftw.com/configmgr-client-hotfix-versioning/.
Specific to your question though, why do you care if either of these hotfixes are distributed to your clients? 2905002 is only necessary during WinPE (and if you are actually not using download on demand content during OSD) and 2910552 is only applicable
if you are rolling out Win 8.1 using a single TS to your XP systems using a refresh methodology.

SCCM 2012 R2 - Last Enforcement State is Non-Compliant
Hi,
I deployed Windows updates to my Desktop collection as Requred updates. Then, I run summarization and saw various last enforcement states: compliant, unknown and
in progress (including downloading, installing, reboot required etc).
Then I deployed Windows updates to my Servers collection as Available updates. In this case, I see in
In Progress section only Non-Compliant status. No records about Reboot required state etc. I ran many times the Software Update cycle on client, but no changes.
In but deployments I set Message level on Detailed.
Is it a normal behaviour for Available updates?Because the SU are set to available, the SU will not automatically download and apply, therefore you are less likely to see anything but non-compliant and compliant.
Yes there is a small chance that you will see other status messages but that is strictly a timing issue. As you happened to run the report at the exact moment that someone is installing the SU on a server.

Enforcement State Unknown issue in SCCM 2012 Patch management report.
Software updates are installed on machine. All updates shown in updates history, but machine not reporting back as Complaint. It showing in Enforcement State Unknown. Please help to resolve the issue.
Hi,
Have you tried to "Run Summarization" while right click the software update group?
If it still shows unknown, please check StateMessage.log on a client that updates show unknown to see whether the state messages have been forwarded successfully.

SCCM 2012 Reporting Code Returns Same Value For Total Number Of Required Updates Per Computer
I'm trying to make a custom report in SCCM 2012 R2 with SQL 2012 since Microsoft took out the ability to list the number of updates needed per computer. This was in WSUS reporting but is not in SCCM reporting. I've made a custom report for this but can't
quite get it to work. The report runs but the same value for total number of updates needed shows up for every computer. I took a query from one report and am trying to get it to run inside the select statement from another report. Here is the code as it is
right now:
declare @CI_ID int; select @CI_ID=CI_ID from fn_rbac_ConfigurationItems(@UserSIDs) where CIType_ID=9 and CI_UniqueID=@AuthListID
declare @StateID int
select @StateID=StateID from fn_rbac_StateNames(@UserSIDs) sn where sn.StateName=@StateName and TopicType=300
declare @RequiredUpdateCount int
select @RequiredUpdateCount=Count(v_StateNames.Statename) from
v_StateNames,
v_Update_ComplianceStatusAll
Inner Join v_R_System On (v_R_System.ResourceID = v_Update_ComplianceStatusAll.ResourceID)
Inner Join v_UpdateInfo On (v_UpdateInfo.CI_ID = v_Update_ComplianceStatusAll.CI_ID)
where
v_StateNames.TopicType = 500 and
v_StateNames.StateID = v_Update_ComplianceStatusAll.Status and
v_StateNames.Statename = 'Update is required'
Group By v_R_System.Name0
select
ccm.ResourceID,
rs.Name0+isnull('.'+rs.Resource_Domain_or_Workgr0, '') as MachineName,
rs.User_Domain0+'\'+User_Name0 as LastLoggedOnUser,
asite.SMS_Assigned_Sites0 as AssignedSite,
rs.Client_Version0 as ClientVersion,
@RequiredUpdateCount as RequiredUpdates
from fn_rbac_ClientCollectionMembers(@UserSIDs) ccm
join fn_rbac_Update_ComplianceStatusAll(@UserSIDs) cs on cs.CI_ID=@CI_ID and cs.ResourceID=ccm.ResourceID
and (@StateID=0 and cs.Status=0 or @StateID=1 and cs.Status in (1,3) or @StateID=2 and cs.Status=2)
join fn_rbac_R_System(@UserSIDs) rs on rs.ResourceID = ccm.ResourceID
left join fn_rbac_RA_System_SMSAssignedSites(@UserSIDs) asite on asite.ResourceID = ccm.ResourceID
where ccm.CollectionID=@CollID
order by MachineName
Ben JohnsonWYThere's plenty wrong with it. It gives you no idea of how many patches each box needs. Then you have to click on each computer, click the sort arrow by the "required" column, and count the number needed. When you have hundreds of computers to work on this
is a big deal as it's very time consuming. What's great about the view in WSUS that had this is that it listed this for you and you could sort the required column. So if have most computers needing 2 patches, you can go find the one that needs 40 and 150 (to
over exaggerate) and put the time on them needed to see why they're so far behind. The WSUS format was quick, easy, and informative. SCCM makes getting this info a royal PITA which is why I'm (and many others) so royally peeved at MicroShaft for removing this
functionality, but that's what we've all come to expect from MicroShaft--just like when then took the nice colorful themes out of Office 2010 and replaced them in Office 2013 with just white, gray, and a darker gray. That's super boring and actually hurts
my eyes.

SCCM 2012 task sequence error. Failed with error code 0x800700002
I am using SCCM 2012, SP1 and I am trying use it to deploy Windows 7. The PXE boot succeeds and the task sequence starts working and is able to do evertything up to and including the disk partition. But when it gets to installing the OS it fails
with an error code 0x800700002. I've run many of the troubleshooting tips and tricks and cannot seem to find the problem. I am able to communicate with the other network devices (ping succeeds to DP and DC and other PCs). The SMSPXE.log gets
to the line File C:\remoteinstall\smstemp\{sid}.boot.bcd.log deleted. I have the SMSTS.log file and have run a couple of troubleshooting tools on it and have not had any luck determining the root of the problem.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.and some more

SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 Can't Edit WMI Query Code in Report Builder
I first posted this in the SCCM but the issue is not solved so I thought I'd try here in the SQL Reporting forum. Original thread here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/b0a6ca3d-7471-4b49-8447-7403a65c2ec0/sccm-2012-r2-cu2-cant-edit-wmi-query-code-in-sccm-reports?forum=configmanagergeneral
I'll repost info here to make this easier.....
I built a new SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 suite on Server 2012 R2. This also uses SQL 2012 SP1 CU6. This suite has 4 servers: site server, two for WSUS and secondary DPs, and SQL. This problem is true for the built in reports and my custom reports. Our SQL guy has
been helping me a lot but we've gotten nowhere. I can run a report. I can open one in edit mode after it prompts me for credentials. It loads Report Builder 3.0. But when I go to a dataset/query, enter credentials, and try to open it, I get a popup that
says "Unable to connect to data source. 'AutoGen_5C6358F2_yayak..." When I click on details it says "The target principal name is incorrect. A connection was succesfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login
process. (SSL Provider, error: 0 -The target principal name is incorrect.)" In SQL Reporting Services Config Manager the paths for Web Service URL is
http://ip.ip.ip.ip:80/ReportServer_SC01 and for Report Manager URL:
http://ip.ip.ip.ip:80/Reports_SC01. A domain account is used to login. This happens when you r-click a dataset and select query to edit the code of a dataset, ie, when query designer tries to open up. It happens
in both Admin Console and when using the Report Manager URL within SQL SSRS. All other functions of using edit mode of a report work fine.
Ben JohnsonWYWhen I do that, browse is dimmed out.
But, if I deselect "create a data set" and click "choose an existing dataset in this report..." there is no data connection at the end.
But if I don't use report builder and instead use IE to browse to my ConfigMgr_ABC, I do see the connection at the end: {123...}.
This problem is on a network that is not on the 'net, so it's hard to do screen shots, so I'll reproduce this problem step by step:
I pick a report to edit, it doesn't matter which one.
If I try it in Admin Console, I right-click, Edit the report, it asks me for a login, I login, then I get a popup that says "Cannot continue. The application is improperly formatted. Contact the vendor for assistance. I click the Details button and
get a long set of text but the key part is "Your web browser settings do not allow you to run signed applications." This msg didn't appear before, so something changed, so I will investigate. I think it used to give a SPN error.
If I use IE within report builder and navigate to whatever report, click open, everything works, except, when I click on Dataset0 (the key one I normally need to edit), click query, it prompts me for a login and no matter which one I use, i get a popup that
says "unable to connect to data source 'AutoGen_123...'". If I click details I get "the targe principal name is incorrect. A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider:
SSL Provider 0-The target principal name is incorrect.)

Here is the complete smsts.log: http://1drv.ms/1pwTEBf
To explain the Problem in Detail:
The SCCM Primary Site Server and the Clients are in different trusted (bidirectional) forests!
Everythings working fine in this Scenario, I can install SCCM Agent on the Clients with Manual ccmsetup and with Client Push Installation. Additionally i can deploy Software Updates and so on... only OSD is crashing in the releaserequest step.
During my Tasksequence new Clients are joined to Domain A while SCCM Primary Site Server is installed in Domain B
If I change my TS and let the Clients also join Domain B everything works without any Problems and the Tasksequence finish without any Errors.
My Problem must be related to the different Domains and the forest trust.
My Setup:
MP published to DNS in both domains
Schema Extended in both domains
System Management Container published and verified in both domains
ccmsetup Parameters in TS: ccmsetup SMSMP=sccm.domain.b FSP=sccm.domain.b DNSSUFFIX=Domain.b
Network Access account configured with Domain B account
Domain Join account has create Computer rights on the OU in Domain A (Domain join is successful)
DNs conditional forwarders configured in both Domains and DNS resolutin is working in both directions
Any suggestions?
Many thanks.
regards,
ChristianHi Christian,
So do you actual get an error message in your TS or is it just failing to join Domain B? (Could be both if the machines fails to join the domain).
Can you review netsetup.log on the machines after the issue and see what error message you might be getting during the domain join process?
Also, if it a domain join issue, can you try manually joining to domain B using the same service account? -
[SCCM 2012 R2] Re-using site code
Hi All,
I have a situation where I need to uninstall SCCM Primary Site because of wrong server name convention. SCCM 2012 documentation do not mention of reusing site code after previous site uninstallation.
Is it possible to use same Site Code for new primary site after uninstall old one?
SCCM 2007 Documentation: Site codes should never be used more than once in a Configuration Manager 2007 hierarchy for active sites. If you have uninstalled a site that was publishing site data to Active Directory Domain Services in preparation for installing
a new Configuration Manager 2007 site with the same site code, you should ensure that the previous site's information has been removed from Active Directory Domain Services, and possibly WINS, before use the old site code for a new Configuration Manager 2007
site. All references to the original site need to be removed from all other sites in the hierarchy, and you need to clean up any objects previously replicated to potential child sites of the new site. If this is not done, any newly replicated objects from
the newly created site could overwrite objects already replicated to the child sites by the previous installation.
SCCM 2012 Documentation: Site codes cannot be used more than one time in a Configuration Manager hierarchy for a central administration site or primary sites. If you reuse a site code, you run the risk of having object ID conflicts in your Configuration
Manager hierarchy. You can reuse the site code for a secondary site if it is no longer in use in your Configuration Manager hierarchy or in the Active Directory forest.
Thank you in advance.
Regards,I have a CAS (CAS) and One Primary site (AU1) connected to CAS.
I want to install second Primary site (EU1) connected to same CAS (CAS). Server name for EU1 Primary site is wrong and guys that are higher in hierarchy than me want from me to fix the server name.
Reason for everything is always: Politics
So you know that you are begging for trouble by having a CAS. You do also know that all the administration should be done ONLY on the CAS and nowhere else.
