Enforcing Max email age filter in Mobile Device Policies

I am trying to get control around max mail item age on mobile devices in Exchange 2013 on-premiss.  Everything I reference below is not the Web browser OWA.  I am referring to the OWA for Devices iOS/Android application.
History:
I am migrating from Exchange 2007 to 2013.  No cloud. We are using MobileIron to control access to ActiveSync.  MobileIron policy is configured to allow 1 month for company owned devices and 2 weeks for employee owned devices.  Exchange Mobile
Device Policy is configured to allow 2 weeks. I want to allow users that do not want MobileIron of their personal devices to be able to access Mail via OWA for Devices iOS application.  Our Legal department and IT security is fine with this if we limit
the mail on the device to 2 weeks.  Since OWA for Devices follows the same path as OWA and not ActiveSync I am able to allow users to bypass MobileIron without any infrastructure reconfiguration.
Problem:
Currently if I go into my settings and change the mail sync from 1 Month (defined by MobileIron) to all, I am able to sync all my mail on my ActiveSync device.  OWA for Devices appears to download all mail no matter what I define in the Mobile Device policy.
Questions:
Is it correct to assume there is no way to disable Offline mode for OWA for Devices?
Is there a command to selectively wipe only OWA for Devices data and not the entire device?
Is there a way to enforce the item age limit defined in the Mobile Device Policy so a user cannot download more than the limit defined?

Hello,
We generally suggest that your users create their own Microsoft Accounts.  If multiple devices share a Microsoft Account it could be flagged as being compromised and blocked.  Also, please understand that we do not allow more than 3 Microsoft Accounts
to be created per day from a single IP address.  Please visit this link for an exception -
https://support.live.com/eform.aspx?productKey=wlidipexc&ct=eformts.  When filling out this forum the contact name and contact email address should be that of your local
Microsoft representative to ensure it's processed.
Also, your users might find it helpful that they can create a Microsoft Account using their corporate email address.

I thought I read this summer that with iOS 6 you could delete an email on one mobile device and it would delete it on your other mobile devices. This doe not seem to be the case but it sure would be handy. Am I missing something?

    Perhaps you're thinking of iCloud?
    http://www.apple.com/icloud/features/calendar-contacts-mail.html
I'm not sure if deletions are synched as are new messages - I don't use iCloud for mail myself - but it might. Someone else here might know for sure, or you can ask in the iCloud forum.
For other email providers, it's always been the case the if your email account is IMAP or Exchange, mail deletions appear on all devices since they're all just looking at the same database of messages on the email server.

  • Sync my email on computer and mobile devices

I am trying to figure out how to sync my email to my two computers, my Adndroid cell phone and my Samsung Galaxy Tab.  I am tires of deleting messages on four devices.  I found a place in the Q and A section but when I click on it the link does not work.  anyone have any advice?

One thing you can try is enabling the setting for deleting the messages from the server when you delete it from your device. This won't necessarily work 100% of the time (if device 2 pulls the message before you delete it from device 1), but it might be somewhat helpful.
I do definitely second jumpin68ny's Gmail suggestion though. You could even set up a Gmail account to pop your verizon.net address, then imap to that account from your devices.

    Hello conniefromtulsa,
The process for deleting multiple messages is detailed in the iPhone User Guide:
Delete, move, or mark multiple messages. While viewing a list of messages, tap Edit. Select some messages, then choose an action. If you make a mistake, shake iPhone immediately to undo.

  • Email are not sync while deploying Email Profiles to Mobile Device through Intune

    Hi,
I am facing Email synchronization issue while deploying the Email Profiles Policy to Mobile Devices (Windows Phone 8.1, Ios and Androids all mobile devices).. through Intune .Email Profile deployed to Mobile devices but the emails are note getting downloading..
In my infra there is exchange Online  and also ADFS deployed in onpremise.. the Exchange Active sync is
outlook.office 365.com for any exchange online email accounts but there is some rules configured in ADFS that all the emails will routed through
[email protected], and through [email protected]
email are getting downloaded in mobile devices that currently configured through Airwach MDM sultions..
but, now i have to manage the mobile device through Intune and while deploying the Email profiles Emails are note getting downloaded ,even i tried to use outlook.office365.com
and [email protected] both as Active Sync Server name..
I haven`t any idea to solve this issue, please guide is anything i need to configure ion ADFS rule of Intune Attributes ( that will allow mobile devices to download the emails )etc..  please suggest for solution..

Intune really has *nothing* to do with the proper functionality of the e-mail client on the mobile device. All Intune does is create the profile -- what the e-mail client does with that information is up to the e-mail client.
Have you verified that the profile that Intune created is correct?

  • How to change the look of emails on mobile device?

I am using elaqua mobile template. Its work good on both desktop and mobile screens, but I want to give this template a different look on mobile devices. I tried to use css media query, but Eloqua generated html codes has same class and id names.I mean, if I apply style on one class, it change the whole template.

    Hi Hammad,
I just went through this process and though the end result is beautiful, I'm not sure it was worth the time it took to do.
Media Queries should work.  Here is a portion of the code I used to display the email differently on different width screens.  Note that the "important!;" bit is needed for everything to work properly.  I used a mishmosh of classes and ID's -- I'm sure that could have been cleaner.  If I recall correctly, I had to use h1[class=h1]to fix a bug with either Yahoo! or Outlook. There are some really good resources about responsive design for email at Campaign Monitor.  Search for it and you will find their whitepaper.

ECP->Mail Flow->Accepted Domains. Make sure that your default domain is the domain which is having the AD name (eg.domain.local)

  • Is there a way to use my iPhone and iPad mobile email settings in a macbook air to utilize it as a true mobile device?

My company doesn't support macs, but the mobile mail works great on my iPhone/iPad.  The settings provided by my company enables syncing on my calendar, I can accept appointments, and my mail syncs perfectly and always faster than my DELL laptop wired to my network.
My question is this... I desperately want a macbook air as I travel ALL the time.  Can I use my mobile settings to send/receive/coordinate my calendar just as my iphone does on the macbook air?  I have a macbook pro and have been experimenting with the mail.app, and it can't connect to the mobile server to my company.
If the settings work so well on iphone/ipad, why can't I get them to work with the mail app on OSX?
First off, I'm set up as exchange on my iphone.
I enter my company email address, add my company user name, add my password, enter domain, and type in mobile.xxxxxxxx.com as my server... WORKS perfectly.
On the mail.app on my mac, there's no place to add domain, so I've tried to not add it, and also tried to put my domain behind my company username.  DOMAIN\USERNAME.
Mail can not connect to the server.
    Is a port issue?
I also tried to sync the account using itunes.  I currently have a gmail account, mobileme account, a yahoo account, and my company exchange account.  ONLY the mobileme and gmail account show up in the sync.
How do I solve this?  How can I make it work? Is there a mail client out there which makes OSX look like a mobile device for email/calendar applications???
I tried apple support, and I guess they can't wrap their heads around the fact that some companies still do not support mac.  Support was useless.
    HELP!!

Is there a way that I could use my (first generation) iPhone as a back-up modem for both notebooks?
    No.

  • Sharepoint Workflow - change URL Path for inside and mobile device email access

I have a workflow that work perfect when accessing from a desktop.  An email is sent with a link to the item,
    [%Workflow Context:Current Item URL%].  The real address is http://sql/layouts/.......
When the user tries to click on the link in the email from a mobile device, it doesn't work.
If I change the mobile device to http://50.xx.xxx.xxx/layouts... it works fine!  (50.xx.xxx.xxx is the port open on our firewall to access SharePoint)
How can I add a separate link in my workflow email so that users can access the SharePoint task list item from a mobile device?
I was thinking of having a link for the inside, http://sql... and a link for the mobile device, http://50.xxx.xxx.xxx/...
    Thank you!

List item URLs are basically a URL to the list item using the item Id. In this case 159 is the item id. The URL represents a downloadable resource like a file in a document library. However in a document library you would get the name of the file plus
it's extension. For example Contract.pdf. The .000 represents the file extension for the list item URL. If you typed in your URL in the browser to servername/list name/159_.000 you would be prompted to save the file (list item). You can save it to your local
file system and it will be a file called 159_.000. However the file will be empty since a list item does not contain any binary content. You will have to some how modify the workflow to replace the servername/list name/159._000 to use servername/lists/list
name/dispform.aspx?id=159. This URL will display the view form for the list item.

Also, you can change your iTunes ID by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with the ID you want to use.
