English dictionaries in iBooks not available in russian interface

Hello!
I am using russian language interface on my iphone 4 and I often read books in english via iBooks, so I need to define words from time to time. Before updating to iOS 7 I haven't experienced any problems with that, but after update iBooks says it has no dictionaries. I know about the manage button and that I can download dictionaries I need (American english new oxford for example) - I did all that, but after closing app it resets those settings and when I open it again it says no dictionaries. I also tried:
-Updating to iOS 7.1
-Resetting phone settings
-Reinstalling iBooks
-Switching to english interface - which actually helped, but I want it to be working in russian interface too.
Is there anything left to try? Or I need to contact apple? How do I do that?

I meant your last-used keyboard, which I thought might be Russian.  The dictionary should be available in all Apple apps.  Do you have the same problem in Notes?

    I use iBooks on my MacBook Pro and iPhone 6, however there are two books that I have purchased in the iBook Store that I am not able to download on my iPhone:
    The Innovators and Learn to Code in Swift.
    The Innovators shows up in the Not on This iPhone tab of Purchased books but I am not able to download it. Learning to Code in Swift does not show up at all. Am I missing something or are some books just not compatible with iPhone iBook App?

    In the past twelve months, I switched back from the Windows world to Apple. I got an iPhone, then an iMac, and a MacBook Air. Can you please explain to me why I can buy an iBook on iTunes on my iMac but not be able to read it on my iMac or MacBook Air? I can read it on my iPhone but I really would like to read it on any of my Apple devices. It should have been part of Mountain Lion.

    I agree.  As a MAC user this type of "oversight" is continuously annoying.  Verizon needs to support the MAC community as there are quite a few MAC only households in its customer base.

    Despite what it says in TS3599, I think books created with iBooks Author are only available in the 51 countries named on that list, free or not.

Unless I am mistaken, iTunes Switzerland is far from Swiss and does not encourage its people to watch films in the local languages of its country (at least French and Italian would be good too...). Can anyone help ? Do I have to move to Geneva to watch a non French film in French or Lugano to watch a non Italian film in Italian or simply buy a DVD to get round it?

    I have the same problem. I want to watch any movies in French (in the original, or subtitled and/or dubbed). But I cannot seem to find any on iTunes. Does iTunes offer any content in other countries (I live overseas) in the languages of those countries?

    I really don't know if this is a Nook or an ibooks problem.  When downloading I am asked if I want to open the book in ibooks and there is no answer box other than yes.  The book will show in the ibooks library but when I try to open it it fails to open.

    ebooks bought from a particular store usually have digital rights management on them, which means that can only usually be read in that store's own app. I don't have the Nook app (it's not available here in the UK) but I assume that you can download your purchases from them directly in their app, possibly by the icon top left of the bookshelf of the two arrows in a circle (?)

    Apple can sell things where the content providers have given them licenses to sell them - so if the book publishers haven't given them licenses to sell their ibooks in the Philippines then Apple can't sell them there.
    Until if/when the book publishers grant Apple licenses, do you have access to other ebook apps/stores that you can use instead ?

    Thats because Indian publishers may have not signed an agreement with Apple. Worst part is even if I want to publish a book for free using official iBooks Author, it does not publish on Indian iBooks Store.

    You don't need to work through the iTunes Store. Open the "Subscribe to Podcast" window under the Advanced menu in iTunes and paste in the following URL:

    If that still doesn't work, there are some other options on the developer's web site.

    though they may not be as convenient as using iTunes. If none of those options work for you, then it's due to either a choice by the podcaster not to allow their podcast in Brazil or something with the Brazilian government or Internet providers.
