English install of Lion shows lots of options in another language (Spanish?)

I have one of the new 2011 MacBook Airs (with 2 USB ports) and Lion installed. I have done very little to change it from its original setup when I turned it on. It was bought in the UK and everything is shown in English... Except the occasional menu option, or, in settings, all keyboard options. You can see from the screenshot below that the primary options are shown in English, but the secondary options are shown in an alternative language.
Has anyone else seen this? Can I set it up so that all options are shown in English or is it a problem with Lion and we're all seeing it and we'll have to wait for a patch?

I have seen several other reports of mixed language localizations appearing in such places, and it seems to be a bug in Lion that affects some installations. I haven't seen any reports of a fix -- you might try reinstalling.

The scary language is Latin, quotes from Cicero to be precise.
It is Placeholder Text designed to show the appearance and layout of the document.
You click in it, something most people try, and it is selected. You then type to replace it.

My SSD install in Lion shows no TRIM support. How do I fix?

Hi folks. I had my new 2011 mini upgraded with an OCZ Vertex 2 SSD drive. I checked for TRIM support after a clean install of Lion and it says No. How do I fix this? Thanks.

I think some want to believe TRIM is needed; or, it was with older model SSDs.
The TRIM Enabler has a change log, and history of sorts.
SATA-IO has said that 3.1 specification will incorporate TRIM into NCQ (command queueing) going forward now that it is final and adopted which is a much better solution.
The lack of free space or having to reuse storage cells (a month's worth is a good number) and the background garbage collection will take care of your drive.
I would not. OWC does not recommend its use, and they just use Sand Force controller and firmware also.
Also, a lot of PC users set motherboard RAID, TRIM is not supported in RAID configurations, and that seems to be fine.
My Corsair SSDs (5) are 6 months and going strong.

Clean install of Lion has lots of spinning beach balls?

I did a clean install of Lion last week. Before I installed any applications or made any personal preference changes I updated the Lion with all software updates.
However after thinking this was a near perfect/clean install after I week I seem to experience lots of spinning beach balls. My wife notices it a lot when she's checking her school web email, which she seems to lose her cursor for several minutes with beach balls.
I don't know what's going on...I ran verify disk permissions with no change.
Ideas?

As an experiment, I would see if using something like the OpenDNS or Google DNS servers has any effect. Often times while doing networking things, there are name lookups and if the DNS servers are slow, or unresponsive, you can see network delays.
System Preferences -> Network -> Advanced -> DNS -> [+] (click the plus button at the bottom of the list to add new DNS entries). The one at the top of the list will be your primary DNS server.

When Installing Mountain Lion,showing error and taking 8-10 hrs for download and unable to Install

I purchased new Macbook Air.When I download free Mountain Lion is given by Macbook,which is taking 8-10 hrs to download a littile bit and showing error message,try again...but I could not download and Instal the same.again and again showing error message.when I download this Macbook is going to sleep mode and pause.How can I cure this?PLease help me.

Try turning off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
Some ISP's have a download quota that limits download sizes. Mountain Lion is a 4.35GB file.
Check with your internet service provider. You also may need to upgrade to broadband high speed internet since Mountain Lion Recovery requires broadbaand access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection.
Check Sleep settings in System Preferences > Energy Saver.

Sorry but for the moment CP only provides English voices. Please file a feature request (form is in the main page of these forums) to ask for TTS in other languages to support us, non-English users.

Installed apps wont show all applications on E7-00

I'm not really sure what happened in what order, but in the morning I tried installing Opera Mobile to phone memory and yesterday evening I tryed a few apps from the app store, not sure if this is important. For some reason the new opera mobile didn't show up in apps (i had old 10.1 installed on mass memory), tried to reinstall in mass memory but that failed. When I went to take a look in installed apps I only saw about 1/3 or 1/4th of the apps installed on my phone.
Restarting the phone gives the same end result, it still wont show my full app list.
EDIT: I just figured the problem out. I changed my phone language to english and the apps showed up again. My native language is Estonian, but at some points it's hard to understand the translations and I switched to English. I installed all my apps under english and just turned back to estonian yesterday.
btw the same issue is with the camera. I have 2 folders - Camera and Kaamera, one is used when my phone is in english setting, other one is for estonian so pictures are mixed up between the two.

It sounds like you have apps from two different accounts on your iPod/computer. You have to sign into your itunes account to transfer the apps. You also have to authorize the computer to use the account. YOu can also download apps at no addition cost. See:

I just installed mountain lion and now I don't see the save as option

I use Pages a lot and I was told by a guy at the Apple storeI needed to install mountain lion.
I did it and now I can not save a document using "save as" option

You are right, but how could i send it to Apple? when the phone company first replaced my iphone they had in stock alots of iphones and they just sent mine back to Apple and gave me a new one, so all i did is to give them my phone, but now how could i sent it to Apple? and i cant send it by myself, and the store wont do that, its a lost for them.. so sending it to Apple wasnt an option from the begining.
and for the record, i dont think the store where i bought it is an authorized shop.. its just a store who boughts phone's from Apple in a low price and sells it in much more money..

I know the information is in there as when I type in someone's name in an email the address always shows up right away. How can I find the information for my contacts and restore my address book? The auto-complete in Mail addresses comes from two sources: (1) The "Previous Recipients" list, which can be viewed via Mail > Window > Previous Recipients. (2) Your Address Book (now called "Contacts").
If you did in fact lose your Address Book - are you sure you don't have "Contacts" in your Applications Folder? - It sounds like you are getting addresses from source (1). If you did in fact lose your Address Book (now called "Contacts" !!), you will have to restore it from a backup.

Suddenly my event library in iMovie 11 is empty. I have tried deleting the plist, importing clips from multiple locations (to see if they show up in the library), re-installing iMovie, and re-installing Mountain Lion.
I was working on a project, when all of a sudden the event library went blank. There are no devices showing in the left column, only "last import" and "aperture videos". There are no video clips in the editing window. I have "Show: All Clips" selected. I've tried "group events by disk".
When I have a Project open, it plays just fine. There are no yellow triangles saying "source clip is missing". Yet, again...nothing is in the event library large editing window. So, it seems the data is still there, but invisible. This is true with all the projects, and all the external devices I've experimented by plugging in to see if their video clips show up in the event library.
I have tried to import new movies, and iMovie responds as normal...looking like it's importing, then "generating thumbnails", then it makes the "ding" signalling that the import is complete...but nothing shows in the event library. I've tried importing movies from the harddrive, from quicktime, and from an external drive.
I have searched the forums, and found many users with a similar, but not the same, problem. For them, it seems the "go to users-library-preferences and delete iMovie plist" has solved their problem. This didn't work for me.
I uninstalled/reinstalled iMovie, I even have re-installed Mountain Lion (from a last-ditch effort suggestion from Apple technician).
HERE'S AN INTERESTING DETAIL: After almost 5 hours on the phone with Apple, I decided to cut my losses and take my project to another Mac I have. I'm working on a project, for work, that is critical that it's completed by tonight (whoops), and all my video is on an external drive. So, I plug in the external drive to Mac #2, open iMovie, and everything is looking fine. I continue importing some files I was converting, through Wondershare, and suddenly (whether or not this has to do with the importing, I'm not sure), the SAME THING happened to Mac #2!!!! I can't believe this.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Have you ever heard of this happening? Could it have to do with the files I'm importing???

Mac #1 is a 27" desktop, mid-2012, software up-to-date. Mac #2 is a 24" desktop, about 4 years old, OSX 10.7.5

in Finder, my iMovie folders are all visible and accessible. When I click on a clip from iMovie Events folder, Quicktime opens and plays the clip. ALL my video is not missing - it just isn't showing up in the Event Library!

All my Projects are intact, and play when I open them.

After installing lion, windows 7 boot option disappeared.

I had a macbook with snow leopard and windows 7 together. Yesterday I installed macosx lion. After installing it, windows 7 selection disappeared in boot menu. I tried to select boot options by pressing "alt key". I saw a new partition which is Recovery HD. There was no bac up files. So what happened to my windows 7 part? How can I restore system?
I tried to use disk utility in lion. I realized that the name of the windows 7 part was changed, now it is disk1s4 but before it was disk0s3 etc..
I removed my macbook HDD and attach with as external HDD to a desktop computer. But I could not find any solution.
In a forum, Someone suggest to create RAW diskimage by using a program named "active and undelete"
Firstly delete windows 7 partition on HDD and create new partition. And then set up it with windows 7 DVD and use RAW diskimage and restore your old settings.
is this logical?
Or is there any simple way to rescue my system? For example If I reinstall Snow Leopard, come my windows 7 partition back?

Here's what I've found on the issue:
Pantone color definitions have changed (coinciding with CS6) — they are now "Pantone+" (I think that's what they're called). The "+" apparently means they're now LAB colors. Lab colors are not properly displayed in Preview (or in Finder previews) — they display as black (as far as I can tell, in all circumstances). I'm sure it's a tad more complicated than that, but that's the gist.
Now the bad news — nobody seems to know anything about a fix or workaround (unless you convert your PDFs to process — this might be a fix for sending to clients). It causes issues for me in AI files — being able to view them in the finder (with previews) is a HUGE time saver for my workflow... when they're all black, not so much.
In my chat with a director of product dev at Adobe, they placed the responsibility to fix on Apple (assuming Apple wants to support Pantone color definitions in their OS).
