English language settings for HK

I'm live in HK and I'm only able to read English. On my iphone 4GS and witht he latest OS, whenever I sign in from a site that requires social media such as google plus 1 or FB, it directs my pages to the language of HK which I don't want. Can this be fixed through settings, if so where?
My iphone is setup in English but the region I put as HK SAR

Hussein,
I tried to follow the instructions described in the mentioned docs:
* Create additional procedure in my package:
procedure Set_Ctx_Lang_Attr (p_Language_Code IN VARCHAR2) is
begin
DBMS_SESSION.SET_CONTEXT( 'USERENV', 'LANG', p_Language_Code);
end;
* Granting priviledges connect, resource, dba to the user.
* Execute this new procedure in SQL Developer just before executing procedure that references view MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_VL.
But it doesn't work yet. I still get an error message indicating missing priviledges. Any idea?
Apart from that, when calling the corresponding web service later on, is it correct that language settings are handled automatically by Service Invocation Framework with Web Service Authorization? So USERENV('LANG') (verified in MTL_SYSTEM_ITEMS_VL) is automatically set in dependence of Web Service Authorization - right?
Thanks,
Carolin

  • Regional and Language Settings for Window and BEX Style

    Hi All,
When I change the Regional and Language Settings for Windows, Standards and Formats value to English (USA) the standard Style for BEX is active. For instance, input-ready cell is bordered with blue. But when I switch to Turkish this style is not active.
Additionally, I have to change Style for each Workbook one by one. How can we adopt a style to every workbook.
    Regards,

    Lars,
This is a setting on the 'Defaults' tab in the User Profile. This can be set when a new user is set-up in SU01, or it can be changed by each user according to personal preference in SU3. I'm sure there is a system table where these settings are stored that could probably be edited for all users, if that is desired, but I don't know which table that would be off the top of my head.
    Hope this helps...

    http://host:<J2EEPort>/exchangeProfile/index.html
choose Runtime Work Bench Tree and the parameter
    <b>com.sap.aii.rwb.serviceuser.language</b>
check if it is EN.If not change and save it.
Then Stop and start SLD server alone.

  • Language settings for movies

    Hello,
I live in Switzerland and have a Swiss Credit Card but unfortunately speak neither French or German. When I try and buy movies I can only buy them in French or German! This for me and I'm sure many other people is a bit of a pain since the movie I'd like to see is in a language I can't understand. Is there any way I can buy/rent a movie from you in English with out changing my billing details to a UK/US credit card which I don't have?
    Many thanks

  • Problem in language settings for Conversion of "." [dot]  to "," [comma]

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to change the default decimal notation from one user language to other user language. For instance the decimal notation for Dutch language is ","[comma] , we need to change this notation to "."[dot]. Whenever user put a comma it should be treated as dot. In R/3 ,In SU01 Transaction we are able to change the decimal notation etc.Is there any possibilities to achieve this in portal content development.

    Hi Ramanan,
The problem is that the decimal seperator is defined by http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/java/text/DecimalFormatSymbols.html - which is used within the DecimalFormat class; and from the portal applications, this is created with the user's locale.
So there is - as far as I know - no way to change these standard mapping locale <-> format definition.
    Hope it helps

  • Language settings for shared elements

I am encountering some problems that most probably are language related with items and custom attributes.
We have installed both Norwegian and Swedish, and the shared elements page group has activated translations. All my custom attributes were default set to enable translations, but I want to disable these as we won't need this yet. When unchecking the enable translations option I get a warning stating that all attribute values not related to global languages will be lost.
What does this mean? I really need to see som documentation as to what happens when translations are applied.

You don't need to remove the setting from the attributes. Just make the languages unavailable in the page group properties. That will effectively disable the translation feature for the unavailable languages in the page group.
The "Enable Translations" property means that a different value for the attribute is allowed for each language. If translations are not enabled for an attribute, the value of the attribute is identical for each language.
For example, say you have an attribute called CONTACT, in which you enter an email address. If translations are enabled, each translation can have it's own CONTACT. If translations are not enabled, updating the CONTACT attribute for any language will update the value for all languages.
If you remove the "Enable Translations" property for an attribute, the value of the attribute for each language will revert to the value for the default language. However, please test this before you do it to an attribute that is widely used.
What else did you need to know about translations?
    Regards,
    Jerry

  • Thinkpad SystemUpdate - Language settings for downloaded utilites?

There seem to be slight troubles in the way how Lenovo's SystemUpdate keeps (or does not keep) track of regional, language-dependent settings.
Scenario: Installed a clean Windows (english, non-T61-specific) XP SP2 on a T61, copied and installed T61-specific network drivers and SystemUpdate and then started automatic SystemUpdate search and install.
Problem: SystemUpdate loads and installs mixed language tools and utilities (partly english and partly german) based on facts which I currently can not reproduce. E.g., installed version of ThinkVantage Productivity Center is the english one (as intended), Fingerprint reader utility and some others are all in german. Selected WinXP keyboard layout was german, country/locale set to Austria but I'd prefer to download and install plain english drivers and tools.
Any hint what factors influence on SystemUpdate's decision for a specific language and how I can configure the language for downloads? I do not remember of having seen any language selection option.
    tia and best regards

Audition is now included with the CS 5.5 suite.
Jim thanks but as you can see I firstly stated that I have used the Production Premium suite.
My main beef with Adobe being that the most likely area of interest after everything else in Premiere being "native" and fast is that you will have noise artefacts on your audio timeline which you may wish to fix quickly.  Of course in FC Pro you could "round trip" out to Soundtrack Pro and take a noise print do other stuff.  What I REALLY LIKE about Audition is the spectral display/ability to use stuff like the healing brush it is a much more intuitive way of doing repairs.
This is often the trouble with marketing departments they simple do not understand how things work out in the field.
But once again I wish to congratulate Adobe on their comprehensive metalogging features and the abilities to embed the metadata or separate sidecar method.  GREAT WORK!!!

  • Automating MUI language settings for 10.1.4

    Hi
I hoping someone out there can answer this for me.
I am building an SMS package for 10.1.4 I have previously built a package for 10.1.3 which worked fine as far as I remember.
However for 10.1.4 on first startup it always asks the user to set the language. I have mulitple sites with multiple languages and I really wanted Acrobat reader to use the system language as the installation language. I have been through the customisation wizard and the registry and I can't find the switch for this.
The pop up box is very annoying because the default is US English and if the user just clicks yes (Which they tend to do without looking) they will then have English regardless of their natural language. Creating mulitlanguage install versions also relies on applying them to the right collection.
Is there anyway to bypass the the language pop up and go straight for use system for language?
    Thanks

    Hi Thanks for the reply.
I have been through that section and choose language is deselected, default language is English (US). The next section of the manual explains about setting the registry to use the system language.
2.2.3.2 MUI configuration via the registry
You can configure the application to use the OS language for MUI installers as follows:
    1. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\<product name>\<version>\Language.
    2. Create a key called UseMUI.
    etc
This works fine with 10.1.0 base with 10.1.3 patch and I get a silent install, users are upgraded and everyone is happy.
However when I do the same thing for 10.1.4 no matter what settings I apply the user is always asked to confirm the language. Allowing for 1 in 10 users to answer the question incorrectly I then have a support headache.
The end game is no popup box for the user. As the MSP is applied after the MSI its settings take preferance and it always seems to ask for the language.
    Thanks

  • Language settings for BEX Analyser

    Hi All,
I am trying to run a report for which dispalys customer names. The BEX report is unable to recognize Greek letters and displays # instead of that. The same report runs fine on Web.
Can anybody please suggest what additional settings need to be done so that BEx report can identify Greek letters?
    Thanks,
    Manisha

The problem is solved for greek letter by adding a system variable sap_codepage - 1704. But only one entry can be maitained for this variable. And the report still cannot identify Russian characters.
Is there any way to solve this problem for BEX 3.X for all multiple languages?

  • How to switch language settings for email alerts/notifications?

Verizon has erroneously identified me as a Spanish speaker based on my husband's last name (Pique). Since I have registered for my data usage plan for my iPad, I receive some messages from Verizon in Spanish and others in English. All of my payment confirmations and data usage alerts are in Spanish and I see no way to correct the language preferences online in my user account. I have tried to contact Verizon via telephone but the support person with whom I spoke was less than helpful and I was disconnected before a solution was actually reached. Has anyone had this problem and, if yes, were you able to resolve it successfully and what did you do?
    Thanks,
