Enhanced Full Rate Codec for Nokia 5130

Hi,
Can anyone please tell me the procedure to activate "Enhanced Full Rate Codec (EFR)" for Nokia 5130 Xpress Music please.
I tried with *#3370#. But nothing happening.
Can anyone please help.
Thanks in advance.
Regards
Jayamohan.

Makes no difference. The mobile operator's network decides which codec it will use/support and the phone has to comply, so the setting changes nothing.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Alive app is it applicable for nokia 5130 xpress m...

Hi, now every newspaper could capture the video live in from the newspaper by downloading aliveapp. But when i go to the site for downloading it is available for some of the nokia models only. It is , i suppose, supporting jad files and not jar files which most of the nokia devices support.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Hope i solve all your problem here. If you have internet on your phone, just open this link of jad file and the phone will install it with all proper certificates.
    http://5.9.90.168/alive/symbian/alive.jad
Else, if you're downloading on a PC or you just simply need the jar file, all you have to do is replace the jad in above URL with Jar and you'll get your jar file.

  • Enhanced features for Nokia Messaging

    Hi there,
Does anyone know when Nokia are planning for enhanced features for Nokia Messaging? The two features I have read about in some early reviews that I'm most interested in are Meeting Requests being integrated in to the Calendar, and to a lesser extent, the integration of Instant Messaging to the client.
    Cheers,
    travla

I don't understand how Nokia knows whether the connection is coming through GPRS or your home internet through WiFi. Nokia Messaging is free when using WiFi. That means that the carriers are intentionally firewalling connections to the Nokia servers and only unblocking it when you pay.

  • HT5848 What is the sampling rate and codec for iTunes Radio. Is it lossless encoded?

What is the sample rate and codec for iTunes Radio? Is it lossless encoded?

I have to agree with you.  There are several forum discussions on bit rate being as high as 256 kbps but I don't see how it could be more than 96 kbps based on the poor sound quality I'm hearing.  I'm comparing it to an internet radio station that is 128 kbps and sounds much better.
    Am I missing something?

  • Nokia 5130 Security Code

Helloo,,,a have buy nokia 5130 xpressmusic,,,but when i want to set pasword on keyboard,,a dont know the master/security codee,,a try most them,,the default 12345,,but doesn't work,,i try with unlock master code,,but still doesn't work,,, does everybody have idea how i can find or change the security codee,,pleaseee i neeeddd helpp

If you bought the phone new and the default 12345 does not work, then the security code should be in the papers you received with the phone or maybe printed on the box.
If you bought it second hand then the previous owner should be able to help you.
Otherwise you'll have to take the phone to your nearest Nokia Care Point with proof that you are its owner (invoice in your name with the phone's IMEI number, and photo ID) and they'll be able to reset the security code for you. Do a backup before having this done because it might entail a full reset of the phone, which will erase all your data.
Alternatively, you could attempt a firmware update with Nokia Software Updater. A firmware update often resets the security code back to the factory default (but not on all models).

  • The future Nokia OS update for Nokia 808 PureView ...

Warm regards to the Nokia family and all members out here!
Ive been a Nokia fanboy for the last 5 years, and have bought most of the smartphones produced by our very own Nokia. India is a very good market for Nokia, but since the past few years, people are just moving towards other platforms for some reason(s)..
Having said that, I would like to inform you that I bought the Nokia 808 PureView Cameraphone recently, and im enjoying the overall experience, though, I would like to give some of my suggestions for the future Nokia (Symbian) OS with a view to better it as a complete smartphone OS and lessen the number of unsatisfied customers. So, without wasting any more time, I'll come to the point straight away. Below are my opinions that ive summarized-
1.) For a better visual experience:
         - Horizontal scrolling in menu is highly recommended as its simply more practical and easy-to-use.
         - An option for changing wallpapers while changing HS (homescreen) or setting a single widescreen wallpaper that scrolls in every HS would be a welcome addition.
         - Size of icons in menu should be reduced to around half of the current size in FP1.
         - Simpler and faster theme effects.
         - The pop up menu (when 'options' is pressed) while being in the landscape screen orientation (in any app) should be  worked upon so that it populates more options while covering a lesser part of the screen.
         - The bounce back effect of tkinetic scrolling in some apps, like browser for instance, shold be reduced or disabled.
2.) For better apps and overall experience:
         - App open and close delay should be minimized
         - App installation time (specially QT apps) needs a reduction..
         - the browser needs a major update with full support of flash and improvements in pan & zoom functionality.
         - Im satisfied with the number of apps available, so this is not an issue with me
         - The qwerty keyboard responsiveness and key positioning needs an improvement. Ive compared it to other OSes myself and found out that I made less errors on those..
As im short of time, thats it for now. Hope you guys at nokia take this as a positive feedback and work towards improving the overall experience of THE BEST CAMERAPHONE ON PLANET, ie, THE NOKIA 808 PUREVIEW (and other capable hardware phones).
    Thanx,
    Varun Paul

Hello…I own an 808 PureView device. At the outset, I must congratulate you for creating such a marvelous device. It’s in all dimensions a brilliant Smartphone and has no major lags except a few which I would like to mention as suggestions to improve the general smoothness and usefulness of its User Interface (henceforth-UI).
The in-built gallery lacks ‘mark multiple items’ option which, if integrated, can be fruitfully used to delete or send multiple items though Bluetooth. Also, the in-built gallery lacks ‘renaming’ function which would otherwise be helpful in organizing the gallery items, and in giving custom names which are easy to remember and deal with.
The generic MUSIC PLAYER lacks the track/music search function from within the music player, and so, to search a song out of the vast collection, the user has to use the generic SEARCH application by exiting or minimizing the music player, which in itself is a cumbersome exercise. The search function, if integrated into the music player, will help a great deal in making the music experience really customized and precise as also time saving.
The in-built VIDEO editing options available in the video viewing dashboard are relatively much naïve and rudimentary as compared to PureView’s lesser predecessor, the N8. Now, since 808 is a full-fledged camera Smartphone, it is bit logical on part of the user to expect the video editing dashboard to be as efficient and complete as the photo editing dashboard of the same is.  Advance options like adding music clip can be added to the video editing console to mitigate the need of using any third party application to do so, and thus, it will further enhance the utility drawn from the cell-phone UI in terms of video editing and viewing.
The generic MESSAGING application has the default view as CONVERSATIONS view and manual selection every time is required to switch the view to FOLDERS mode. If there had been an option to make a choice in setting the folders view or the conversations view as default as per users convenience, it would have been again a smooth messaging experience.
To end up, the generic CONTACT application lacks the facility to edit the contact labels unlike the one which was available in S60 V3 devices (I owned N79 prior to owing 808 PureView and so I am well aware of this utility). Facility to edit the contact labels makes it easy to differentiate between multiple contact numbers of the same contact so as to have an ease of remembrance and clarity of use.
I earnestly hope that Nokia will incorporate some or all of these suggestions in the next-to-come firmware upgrade for Belle FP1 devices. These modifications/additions, if done and made, will make the Belle OS fully competent with its various other contemporaries as it just lacks these things but otherwise is a fluid and extremely useful OS. I request you to kindly pay due heed and consideration to my observations and work towards making the Belle OS an all-encompassing mobile platform. Thanking You.

  • New softwares and games for Nokia X6

Hello, i'm a new visitor to this discussion platform. I have bought a nokia X6 8GB and have tried many apps in it. I tried an app called "MOOVE" mp3 player from ovi store and it turns out its not supported by X6!!!!!! I request nokia to contact the creators and release this app for nokia X6 8GB.
Nokia has started releasing N8 and with it new apps but only supported by N8. Then what about us customers with previous models??? I want to play angry birds on my X6. Why can't they release these apps and games which are supported by other previous devices also? Do they expect us to buy N8 just for that??? Like the softwares for OS XP,7,Vista etc why can't they release softwares which are compatible with all similar(touch screen) mobiles???
One more importatnt thing for me is music. I also have a Sony Ericsson Naite which has a plugin in its music player called "Mega Bass". When you listen to music with Mega bass it feels like vibration just like you were listeninig to music from a big stereo. Why can't nokia develop such plugins to enhance the music experience??
I tried an app called landscape pro. The app has a feature called magic gallery. This feature enables us to change pics while in gallery with the built in motion sensor. you just have to turn your phone left or right to change picture when you are viewing them full screen. My question is " WHY DIDN'T NOKIA THINK OF THIS FEATURE AND INCLUDE IT IN THE PHONE??????????".Because of this we have to go for third party apps to utilize the abilities of X6.
The gallery should have had images and videos seperately. Instead it has both together which is not very convinient for me.
I installed Netquin mobile antivirus with real time protection. Due to its real time protection and a very limited RAM of X6 I could not change themes, apps would close abruptly saying "memory low". Whats up with that????? They say smartphones are mutitasking but nokia X6 needs lot of memory to run its own tasks rather than doing my task
Another issue with video is that even after I converted them to the resolution 640x360(my X6),
the videos would not play smoothly and i had to reduce frames per second(fps) and kbps which is not at all satisfactory. After reducing quality ,the videos played smoothly but were just a pixelated madness with very less clarity. If it cant play good quality resized videos then what is the use of having a wide resolution good screen????
I installed an app called Netquin mobile guard from ovi store. According to it even if i'm running only mobile guard, total running processes were over 100!!!! Is it really true? Why would the phone require to run so many processes even if i'm just keeping it ON???
If there are people out there who have similar experiences as mine then i'd like to know them.
    Thank You.

    I can answer partly..
Majority of the applications available on OVI Store are developed by 3rd Parties.. and to make them compatible with more and more phone models is the sole responsibility of the Developers. I request you to contact the developers directly to put forward your request.. Over a period it is their own benefit.. but its totally upto them to implement ..
As far as I know ( as posted on this forum..) there is absolutely no need to install any anti-Virus in the phone.. If you search the forum using the Search Box at the top, you will find no. of threads on this subject..

  • Update for Nokia 5530? Read this please.

    Hi all!
I bought my (first) Nokia smartphone in January this year: Nokia 5530.
Since then, no updates was released for my device.
    Nokia forget 5530 as like 5800. Now only C / E series, N8, N9, and low-price like 52xx.
Recently new update was released for C6, 5230 and 5233 devices with Ovi Maps 3.06, Browser 7.3 Anna-like, Emoticons input, general improves and more.
Now, my Nokia 5530 is very poor and forgeted:
Don't have widgets, don't support IM for Nokia (i tested it and loved), Nokia Browser is terrible, and others resource is very obsolete.
I saw the C6, the images/videos viewer is very much better, you can categorize with folders, favorite photos, and music player now support lyrics.
Days ago I installed a C6 port to 5530 (I transformed my 5530 in C6), and now my device has widgets, IM for Nokia and all i mentioned in here, but in very lag, the "Memory is full, close some apps and try again" message appears all time, much bored. Then I back yesterday to original firmware 32.0.0.7. I also have put in ALL MUSICS (300+) image covers and lyrics to use in cfw, but now in original don't have this, and I much sad.
    What I want?
Want that Nokia don't forget users, because my first smartphone made my a Nokia lover, and I liking this. But i don't have money to buy a new smartphone (i want N8) because here in Brazil (where I live) is much expensive price.
Well, please Nokia, release a nice update for us Nokia 5530 users, even if not with widgets support, but with IM for Nokia, new browser/Ovi maps, lyrics support in Music Player, More organized images/videos viewer and more stabilities and improvements in cinetic scroll, etc.
I love Nokia and want to continue loving.
Thank you very much, I'm anxious waiting for my device update.
    Cheers,
    Destroyzer (@destroyzer).

The 5530 is an older device than the C6. The 5800 wasnt exactly forgotten, but its normal for nokia phones to lose updates once the unit is about a year and a half to two years old. The 5530 is almost two years old already (it will turn two this august), so its not unusual that it wont receive updates anymore.
Its not exactly Nokia's fault that you bought an outdated phone.
