Enhancement of infoobject

Hi Gurus,
If i have to enhance a standard infoobject, for example 0MATERIAL so as to add 2 keyfigures as display attributes, what are the steps to follow ???

I would like to know one thing, attributes of the charecterstics are properties. Why do u want to add key figures. Any way, if you add any attributes then you need to take care how it is effecting to the existing Business Process. Add the 2 infoobjects in attributs Tab Page. Activate it. If it Display attribute then it won't effect any business process(You won't any where in cubes). Go with where used list.
Still i'm not clear why you want add key figures?

What I note is none of the Qty/Price type fields appear to be available when maintaining the datasource even though they appear in the extract structure.
For example fields EISBE (Safety stock), MABST (max stock level), LOSFX (Ordering costs) and so on.
This is same in other master data datasources as well: I checked one other standard datasource 0MAT_SALES_ATTR (on BIW_MVKE_S) and sure enough all the QTY fields present in the extract structure are not available for selection.
It maybe a standard behavior that the keyfigure type fields (Amount/Qty etc) are not available in master data datasources.
You can still proceed as earlier. Name these fields in the append structure with your own fieldname (ZMINBE eg) and write the code to extract the same. You may have to convert them to CHAR before you push them to the datasource in the user-exit code.
SAP may have some note explaining this bahavior but I haven't found any.

InfoObjects both appear in transaction data and master data

Hi,
If your transaction data has say infoObjects MMM, EEE, and TTT that you're loading daily or weekly, would you also enhance the infoObject MMM to have EEE and TTT as attributes. MMM has master data (attribuets and texts), and EEE and TTT are not key figures. If yes or no, what would be the reasoning for it?

1) Since most of the time, we use Business Content, IF it comes with oading both Master Data & Transaction Data same time, we go with it becuase we don't want to unnecessarily change deliverd Content.
2) ANother good reason is Rememner, Master Data (e.g., for 0material) is not ONLY for the Cueb you are working on, BUT, its shared among other Cuebs in BW landscape. So, there si a agood chance that other Cube will use 0material, but doesnot have e.g., 0MATL_GROUP as transaction data. So, you should have Master Data that will be shared by all the Cubes/InfoProviders using it.
3) Next, if your Master Data changes (and your Master Data is not Time Dependent), then you can go to Cube and see what was the value on the day you laoded the Cube (I guess I already said this info in prevous post, just to repeat).

Material Standard and Future price

I would need to extract the material standard and Future price ( with effective date). I am aware that this information will be stored in MBEW table. Is there any extractor that would give us this information ?
I tried 0CO_PC_ACT_05. This would give us only price types ( P01 and P02 i.e Standard and MAP).
Is the custom DS is the only option ? Do i need to enhance 0material Infoobject by including the Standard price, Future price and Effective Date fields ?
Any help is highly appreciated.

Yes, there is no other data source as per your needs.
You need to enhance your standard data source(0CO_PC_ACT_05).
please check your info 0material have those fields at ecc side. check at RSA6 or table ROOSFIELDS.
Above fields if you need at reporting level then you need to enhance 0material_Attr and mark those info objects as navigational attr. so that you can use them at bex level to play with filters or free chars.

Notification Status restrication

Hi all,
In my notification report it is displaying notification no, status, that related key figures. I have problem displaying status.
Problem:
Requirment is that particular notifcation cloed means no need to diplay in report.
my problm is particular notification no have both status like: WORKINPROCESS, CLOSED means its showing in report. when i exclude the CLOSED status still that notification no displaying with status of WORKINPROCESS.
Kindly guide me how to slove this problem. once notifiation closed no need to displaying in report.
Note: If giving full load it working fine, delta load only not working like that client telling i not sure on that. Please if you need any more input let me know.

I believe you are reporting from the cube , and hence will it hold all the status changes for the notification during the delta load ,
there are two options you can follow ,
Enhance the infoobject Notification with the status field , make it as a navigational attribute , and map it accordingly with the source field , this can always hold the current status of the notification, and use this status field(navigational attribute) for restriction in the query ,
Or if you have DSO in the dataflow before the Cube , The DSO will always have the Current status of the Object even in delta load , In this case you can report this from DSO

Enhancement not getting reflected in Info Cube

I have made enhancement for getting additional data in the InfoCube 0SD_C03 fro data source 2LIS_13_VDITM .I have made changes in Communication Structure and transfer structure as well . But i am getting the required data in the psa and addition fields are not getting reflected in the infocube . Please suggest me a solution .

Hi,
You have to map the Rules in two Transformations. One for DataSourec to InfoSource and InfoSource to Cube.
Confirm that you entered all the infoobjects and those compound objects too into the cube, Don't forget to map compound objects in transformation rules. Activate every single object individually.
Did you create DTP for cube? In BI 7.0 for InfoPackage by default "psa only".

Hi Raju,
These questions are answered in the forums before. Do a quick search.
You can create and edit queries even in Production so no need of transports for queries.
If you enhance a datasource, you need to replicate it. Make sure there are no dependencies on the datasource. Usually if you are just adding fields to a datasource, should not cause issues.
Reeference characteristics are used to create infoobjects similar in properties to existing characteristics.

Business content datasource enhancement

Hi Experts,
I am new to HR.
We are implementing HR modules Personnel development and Personnel administration, while I was looking into business content extractors 0HR_PA_0 and OHR_PA_1, I found that there were only few fields in the extract structure but there were many fields in the cube.Do we need to enhance the datasources? how it works?. If anybody did the enhancement to these datasources, please give me the information with examples.

No, it is no necesary to enhance standard data sources. Those datasources extract, basically employee and date. Most infoobjects in cube are calculated from 0PERSON and 0EMPLOYEE attributes, having in count the date and employed extracted, because most in HR is time dependent.

Data load for target after target enhancement

Dear all,
We are using BI7.00 and in one of our design we have the data first loaded to the ODS and then to the Cube. Now we wanted to get the value of one more field. This field is already avaialable in the data source and data is flowing upto PSA. I have added that field in the ODS. My problem starts here. I want the data to flow for all the previous requests i.e., earlier requests in the ODS and the Cube (Prior to enhancement) without disturbing the data load.
Kindly provide the step by step instructions. I do not want the earlier data to be deleted. The current field value to be updated to the previous loads to the ODS and the Cube.

Hi,
Overwrite optrion is available in the update mode of key figures.
Its key figure which determines whether the DSO is in overwrite or addition mode.
Go to the mappings of each infoobject in the tranformation from the data source to DSO and check the mapping type of each key figure and then see if its overwrite or not??
To avoide reloading to the cube.....One of the option is to add the fields in both cubes and DSO and then activate the transformation and mappings,DTP ect.
After that load the data to the DSO and then schedule the delta from the DSO to the cube.Thi will bring all the chnages to the DSO in the cube.
But this delta may be a huge one and may fail depending upon the data in the DSO.
But you can try for this and if it is not working then you may have to delete the cube and reload it.

Remove zeros in LOVs of BW Infoobjects on Webi report

Dear Experts,
My BW infoobjects(0GL_ACCOUNT) showing preceding zeros in the BI4.1 WEBI Prompts LOVs, so user don't want the zeros and they need only values and also they compare BEx analyzer with BO since BEx analyzer LOVs shows only values without zeros.
Is there any function or setting either in BO or BEx designer to remove zeros in the BW infoobjects? so that in BO LOVs display only values without zeros.
Currently values is 0000123456 in BO LOVs and user want only 123456 as per BEx analyzer.
BEx query as semantic Layer
Platform: BI4.1 SP01
BW: BI7.3 SP6

Creation of Master Data InfoObject

I need to modify 0COMP_CODE Master data Infoobject, with adding some fields as attributes.
I need to add few fields to 0COMP_ CODE, based on tables.
And 0COMP_CODE should pull data from source tables while used at reporting.

Hello Sri,
You can add the required inobjects in the Attribute tab of 0COMP_ CODE masterdata object.
Also mark them as Navigational if you want them to be used in reports for drill down, navigation etc.
Now either you can enhance the masteradata datacource for 0COMP_ CODE in source system or create your own custom datasource. If you are modifying the already existing DS them you would have to write ABAP code in CMOD for those fields you are adding to 0COMP_ CODE.
Replicate it to BW. Activate the datasource. Create transformations(modify transformation in case you haev modified the already existing DS) to update these new fields to 0COMP_ CODE masterdata attribute.
Now rest of the things are same, like create DTP or IPs etc.
Now as you would have marked these new objects as Navigational in 0COMP_ CODE masteradat attributes tab, you will be able to use them in query design.

As 0comp_code is an infoobject used in lots of cubes, I would like to know which is the impact of changing it.

Hi,
If you are adding any new fields to infoobject, you will not have any impact to existing info providers which uses that infoobject.
If the attr u add is a navigational attr and if you want ur info provider to have it, then you will have to enable it and activate the info provider and the update rule as well.
is your data source modified to bring in those new fields? or is it going to be manually maintained?

How can I add my Sold to field in the infocube via transformation if it is a separate infoobject?

Really need your help...I want to include the Sold_to field in my Revenue BEx query but it is not available in the infocube I am sourcing from. It is however in BW as a separate infoobject. Is it possible to include the data in my infocube by adding a field to transformation and sourcing it from 0SOLD_TO? If so, how can it be related to the current data in the infocube (i.e. meaning how will it know which records are applicable to the said Sold to fields if there is no document number in the cube.
Please advise if possible or if there are better options which would not require updating the standard datasource 0CO_PA_1.

Sorry, Unable to understand your requirement....however below are options which probably may help you:
1) Add Sold to Infoobject in Cube...Enhance your datasource write logic to populate the datasource field and map accordingly.
2) Add Sold to Infoobject in Cube...Write Routine/Read Master data to populate in the cube....you should have logic and relationship to derive the same.

here is one example how to enhance.
Goto RSA6- select the 0Material.- Click on Enhance extract structure-> it will take u to the next screen there u need to create the field material group1. and append it to 0Material.
Goback to RSA6-- RC on 0material-- it will take you to customer version edit screen- here unchk the Hide and Field only known in exit options n save it.
Next Go back to RSA6-- 0material- click on Function enhancement it will take you to CMOD Screen( here we need to enter the project name and click create if not created on click display)
In the next screen we find the function exits Like EXIT_SAPLRSAP_001 FOR T DATA AND EXIT_SAPLRSAP_002 FRO Master Data,_003 for Text n _004 for Hierarchies.
select the appropriate function exit and double clikc on it. It will take you to Function builder screen.
D Click on defn of Include ZXRSAU01. it will take you to abap editor screen.
here u need to include the code for the enhanced fields n also write the code to populate the dat for that particular field.
save it and avtivate the code.

Enhancing 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL for STATUS of Operation

I need the status of the operations of the production orders.
NOT the status of the production order head(Thats in the attributes of the 0PRODORDER)
I thought on enhancing the Datasource 2LIS_04_P_ARBPL for the statusfields.
As I see, the status comes from the table JEST.
Any Ideas how to select the status from JEST in a routine?
So that I enhance the datasource and fill the field via a routine.?
Or is there any other way to get the status of the operations into BI?
We are already loading the table AFRU via a VIEW into BI - could I include the status into this View?

If you just need the confirmation counter, that I guess is the number of Confirmation that happens after the TECO at the R/3 side (I guess you can check the same at the R3 side using Report COOIS). Have you considered the option of managing the same at the reporting level.
At the Bex level you can get the number of confirmation (Counter) for a period. This can be achieved by multiple ways, the simples one is
- Create one formula (while creation of formula give 1 in the Formula box then go to Aggregation tab in the formula then select reference infoobject as confirmation number then save, it will work)
1 = Numeric one constant in the formula
go to calculation tab then select as sum or total .
