Enlarge the size of widgets on the screen

I've loaded a number of widgets onto my iMac, but I find them difficult to view -- e.g. Solitare takes just about 15% of the screen. Is there a way to enlarge the board to 50%? 75% 100% of the screen? This questions applies to all widgets.

You have two options that immediately present themselves.
- You can use the Mac's built-in zoom feature to get in closer. ( Opt 8 to enable, then  Opt + to zoom in...  Opt - to zoom back out.) These key commands can be changed too in the keyboard prefs.
- Edit the widget. You can get to many widget's "goodies" by viewing their package content and then double it's dimensions in the code. Then you can double the size of the graphics in Photoshop, etc... this is a VERY technical option, so it's not for the light-hearted, or for the more complex widgets.
Sorry I have no simpler answer. Unless they were built to get larger, you may have no other options. I agree though, the larger our LCDs get, the smaller our widgets look.

The words under pictures on the photo pages are also part of the template. What you see is the default.
But you can change this. You can change the font, font size and font color. Just hightlight it by dragging the cursor over it and select font to change the font and size. And you can use the color wheel to change the color

Edit: if you choose a large font you may have to adjust the space between the pictures. This can be done in the inspector. Just play with it to see what works.

How to increase the size of box in the screen

Is it possible to increase the size of everything on the display (All fonts, icons, menu bars, etc) at once without changing the screen resolution?

I have a user with a new 27" Mac who is very.... specific... with how she wants things. She says she needs the displayed size of everything on her computer increased as everything is too small. I tried changing the resolution to 1920x1080, which she stated was around the size she wants, but this will not work for her since things aren't crystal clear and she says it hurts her eyes to view it like this.
I come from a Windows background so I assumed there would be a way to simply increase the display size of everything in one shot. If not, what hoops will I need to jump through to have this adjusted for every application on the machine?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OS X doesn't have a UI size increase ability like what you expect on Windows, it's been a long complaint of Mac users for ages, but Apple simply refuses to listen.

I have a web browser solution here, the other opiton is to use a scroll wheel/head mouse and a Universal Access "control" key to press while scolling with the mouse up and down to zoom in/out where the mouse is pointed or some other trackpad etc arrangement.

How do you change the size and font of the menu items in iweb.

as i was working on my website recently i noticed that i could not figure out how to change the automatic menu bar at the top of the screen. i would like to make the font smaller and closer together and even centered so i can put more pages on the same line without it looking silly. please help.

iweb2 navbar is rendered by javascript widget, therefore you can change navbar font style with javascript; this is an efficient way to change navbar font style.

Can I resize the Favorite Contact widgets om the homescreen?

Just got the Maxx. I love it! However, I'm not impressed with the Favorite Contact Widget. I only need 2 and I'd like them to be larger. I don't like the size and the fact that they're connected. Anyone know how to modify them?

You can't modify that widget the way you want, but, since you only want two, maybe an alternative would be a separate widget for calling (texting) each of them?
Long press on the home screen, select Shortcut>App Actions>Direct Dial (or Direct Message) and then your contact.
Would that work for you?

Anyone know how to change the size of PDFs in the iBooks library?

I was wondering if there was a way to increase the size of the thumbnails for PDFs in the iBooks library on your iPad. It's hard to read them at this default size and just about every other app in creation (several of them modeled after OSX's own file folder display system) will allow you to zoom in on thumbnails or change the orientation so that they are grouped in a way that makes them easier to see. My kingdom for a slider-majigger at the bottom of the screen!
Anyway, does my request make sense? Also, am I missing something, or is that feature just not available?

You can adjust the time of each slide in the slideshow settings, which you'll find above the thumbnails of the slides when you open the photo album on the Apple TV.
Note, not all of the slideshow options have time settings.

What is the size of particles in the color sphere toner for the laser jet 2605dn?

I want to know the size of the particles on the color sphere toner for the HP laserjet 2605dn. I want to print color decals on this printer but I have to use ceramic pigments that will survive the firing at 1400 farenheit...Black, Cyan, Yellow, Magenta. I am not thinking on the iron oxide on the toner, I am thinking in Cobalt oxide, and 3 other oxides. Can I modify the settings or fill the cartridges with ceramic pigments? Can you refer my question to the person handling the toner specifications?

Thank you Alan and know you are right. I really can do all I need with my netbook and ereader and do not need the ipad. I think I just wanted something new and felt I may enjoy using it a lttle more than the netook. But it would be a waste just to buy one when I donlt acutally need it And, donl't think it is worth the extra money for me the get the 4g wireless capability since I doubt I would really need it often.
I may treat myself to the Ipad for the color, touchpad and fun to use but it is very expensive considering how little it will do for me no more than the things I want it for. It woudl be and expensive luxuray, I can do without. I actually need t learn how to use more of the function avaiable first. Maybe I should take up playing games and learning to take digital pictures so I can at least load them. If I could learn to do that and take a decent picture, I could start selling back all the "stuff" I have purchased on ebay. haha - I do have a nice doll collection, I would like to sell. I just do not have room for anything else. That was the primary purpose for the Kindle Ereader I bought and enjoy so much,
But, I will hold onto the thought for a while and see how it goes and what other comments I get, If I think I cannot live without it, then I will have to rethink which one to buy, I coud get the 32 g if I did not have to pay for the 4g wireless. And, if I knew I could get help to teach me how to use and enjoy all the functions, I would give it more serious consideration. My granddaugther got one for Christmas and that was what got me interested in it. I love the size of the screen and it had good color and was fast. She even had an application where she could write her notes and it would convert into typed words. That was a neat feature, If you could print it?

What does that mean?
These are commands in the Thunderbird menu system on YOUR computer. You should probably take some time to learn your way around Thunderbird.
There are two ways to get to the View menu.
First on the Menu Bar. It might be hidden on your system. Pressing the alt key or F10 will display hidden toolbars on most applications including Thunderbird.
The next way is with the AppMenu button. It is a square space with 3 horizontal lines that is usually in the upper right screen area.

Changing the size of font in the sidebar

Do any of your 'mac-gurus' know of a way to increase the size of the font in the side bar? I know one is able to increase the size of the folders, applications, etc but I'd love to find a way to increase the size of the 'home,' 'applications,' 'music,' "iPhoto," etc.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm exhausted trying to find it on my own.

How to determine the size (in pixels) of the current mode

I am looking for a was to determine the size (horizontal and vertical pixels) of the current mode (SAPGUI window). I have already looked through the methods provided by class CL_GUI_CFW...
CL_GUI_CFW=>GET_METRIC_FACTORS provides the size of you display (i.e. 1600 x 1200 pixels) and some other information I am not able to interprete.
Futhermore I have had a look at the Methods CL_GUI_CFW=>COMPUTEPIXEL, but I don´t know how to use them.
Has anybody of you any experiences in this topic? I would be grateful ...

but i didn´t find out, why these programs should be able to solve my issue. They just display a picture using the CL_GUI_PICTURE control.
I am looking fo a way to resize a given control to the very maximum, so that it fills the whole SAPGUI window!

i been playing around with the functions on my mac and i discoverd "voice over" a little annoying cause it just verbalizes everything, but i thought it would be kinda cool to have it read me the paper in the morning while i drink coffee and get ready for the day. however it only reads a small suject field one at a time .i was wondering if you can expand the size of the subject field to encompass more text if you know what i mean

You cannot change the PIc size of the Buddy on the Buddy List or in the Messages (Chat) window.
In the View Menu you can turn off the Buddy Pics (Depending if the Buddy List or Messages window is the "Front" one when you use that Menu).
